[How the Samsung $200 Promo works + The mysterious "Trade In Receipt?"] - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HEY GUYS, JUST WANED TO REPORT THAT I'VE RECEIVED AN EMAIL BACK FROM PRIZELOGIC WITH THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE:
"Dear _______, Thank you for your inquiry. Your submission has been received and approved. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Thank you, PrizeLogic Support"
UPDATE: Nov. 11th 2014 --- As many of you have reported, this morning I've also received the "Approved," email. Great stuff! Here is a link to what the approved email and trade-in confirmation looks like. Thanks aznmode.

================================================
So I just clicked on the option to mail in the receipts.
Promo URL: https://samsunggalaxypromotions.com/Note4/
HOW IT WORKS:
Get a Guaranteed Total Trade-In of $200* on Any Working Smartphone.
Preorder the Samsung Galaxy Note® 4 from any carrier or retailer in the U.S. now through 10/16 (Verizon customers through 10/22).
Trade in any working smartphone at a participating retailer (minimum $10 trade in value).
Starting 10/10, come back to this site to submit your preorder and trade-in information. Must submit preorder and trade-in information by 11/30/14 at 11:59:59 PM ET. Best Buy customers go in-store to redeem instantly.
Enter your contact information (name, email address, phone number, mailing address (P.O. Boxes are not permitted) and date of birth).
Enter your device’s HEX MEID or IMEI number and Wi-Fi MAC address.
(Applications > Settings > General > About Device > Status)
Upload both preorder and trade-in receipts for validation.
The highlights in RED are what I'll be clarifying:
[I went into the TM store, called Samsung directly 3 times, Live chatted with them and spent half the day trying to get to the bottom of this.]
Can you trade in any working smart phone?
YES, as long as your smart phone is working, BUT the device must be eligible to receive at least $10 as a trade in. Bring your smart phone into a TM store or call them to get a trade in value amount -OR- if you'll be buying the phone from Best Buy, Walmart, Radio Shack or any other participating retailer, bring your old smart phone to them to find out your trade in amount. If any of them will give you more than $10 for your old phone, then you're all good to go. If not, then .... well go buy the cheapest eligible smart phone that you know for sure can get $10 trade in value from TM or any of the participating retailers. What is $200 worth to you? So what if you have to buy a beater eligible smart phone for $50....you're still in the plus $150. No brainer.
Ok what now?
Once you've confirmed that your smart phone trade in is over $10, then you need to obviously pre-order the phone at TM (store/phone/online) or at any of the participating retailers. Best Buy is actually the best because if you're buying your N4 with them, the $200 credit is instant where you can apply it to the purchase price of the N4. (Someone confirm this, but I think Samsung (kiosk/store) that's inside Best Buy don't have TM?) Anyhow, whoever you pre-order from, you will obviously get a receipt for the pre-order......????
What the heck is a trade in receipt?
If you're like the many who have pre-ordered online/phone/store with T-Mobile, you are not alone in scratching your head in trying to figure out what the heck a valid trade in receipt is. What is it exactly that we need to upload? When you pre-order with T-Mobile in the store, they will take your trade in right there and then and that info. should be printed on the transaction receipt. If you are ordering online/phone with T-Mobile, you will receive the Agreement emailed to you with a break down of the cost of your N4. You can then go into your myT-Mobile account and see the pre-paid shipping label included which contains the quote info. This I think you can use to submit the promo offer. So the question about the 'trade in receipt' ??? I think this is it....
Update: According to the TM rep, he said that once the N4 ships out that I will receive a receipt with the trade in value info on that piece of paper. Really? We'll have to wait and see. TM rep's weren't very familiar with the Samsung pro....
So the big mysterious question is: What the heck is a VALID trade in receipt??? Because come the 10th....what do we upload?!
Let it fly guys...please keep it clean and precise.

My main concern is with how this promotion is handled with JUMP. Do you have any additional hoops to jump through?

Thank you for starting this thread.
I was also scratching my head about the trade-in receipt. The TMO rep printed out a screenshot if his screen showing the pre-order and trade-in offer. I'm going to scan that and see if the Samsung site (tomorrow - 10/10/14) will except that.

I hope someone can give me a definite answer on this. I pre-ordered online but checked the box to trade in later, because I hadn't bought a phone to trade in yet.
I was told by two different store employees that when I received my new phone, I could bring it and the trade in phone to the store. Then they would do the trade in receipt, port my Sprint number, and activate the new phone. They would print out all of the receipts I needed to submit for the rebate.
Today a different employee told me that I should have provided the trade in phone information at the time I pre-ordered in order to be eligible for the rebate. He suggested that I cancel my order and reorder with the trade in phone info. Does anyone know for sure?

Note 4 Pre Order
Hi,
I pre-ordered mine at the T-Mobile store, and on the receipt it shows the purchase price of the new Note 4, but also has the "trade-in" information on the phone i gave in (IMEI, make, model) and also the value of it ($13).
So I'm guessing that is the trade-in receipt i will upload with the Note 4 info, unless we find out any other info.
Thanks.

I've called the T-Mobile 800 number twice and haven't been able to get a straight answer yet about having to preorder and do the trade in at the same time. Samsung's Terms and Conditions page: https://samsunggalaxypromotions.com/note4/en-us/Rules lists the two as separate steps, so I guess I'll have to go with that.

Evo 4G-what's the least expensive qualifying phone that meets the $10minimumtradein?
I'm still leaning toward the Note4 (the questionable speaker that may be a downgrade from my Note2 speaker leaves me some doubts) but am also interested in the Nexus6 expected to be announced ~10/15 for its 5.9" QHD display on the same size handset+processor with dual front facing speakers & Android L out of the box but would not trade in my SGN2 for $100 (or even $200 with promo) Samsung SGH-T889 Galaxy Note 2 16GB titanium TRADE-IN VALUE $100.00 but would trade in my EVO 4G for the promo if it met the $10 minimum HTC PC36100 APA9292 EVO 4G - Sprint TRADE-IN VALUE $6.00..what's the least expensive qualifying phone that meets the $10 minimum trade in for the $200 promo? :highfive:
Why does BestBuy promo an instant $200 for all carrier preorders except T-Mobile (wouldn't T-Mobile benefit from a BestBuy presence)? I also had planned to buy it full price to use with my $30/mo unlimited data-text-100minVoice T-Mobile prepaid plan that is by far the fastest carrier in my primary use area:good: (but coverage is inferior beyond my primary uses areas)..

I kind of agree with the second employee. As long as the trade in and the preorder are shown together, you should be okay. If they can add it, then great.

Since they're listed as separate steps in Samsung's own document, I'm just going to go with that. I have to wait to get the Note 4 and port my number over before I can do the actual trade in anyway.

Well, as much as I want to help you explore some options, in respect to staying within moral bounds I will refrain myself from saying anything in public. Hint: Look through this forum for a particular post. Wait did somebody say something?

Sure thing. :good:
I'm pretty sure Samsung will be receiving a lot of that particular 'trade in receipt.' I hope it works, because I will be doing the same.

When you receive your Note 4, it will have in it a pre-paid label to ship your trade-in back. Once T-Mobile receives the trade-in, you will be issued a confirmation of the trade in via ??? (I'm thinking it'll either reflect on your next months bill, emailed, or mailed. However, it'd be best to probably just call customer care once you can confirm that T-Mobile has received in the trade-in via tracking it online as the pre-paid label should have a tracking number on there.)
As for bringing it in the store, that may be an option for you since you will be porting your number from a different carrier, but in most cases T-Mobile stores will only take in a trade at the time of purchasing another device. It usually all has to be done at the same time. Therefore, since you are receiving the phone via mail I'm thinking that it automatically defaults to you having to do just that by waiting and bringing it in then.
I'm thinking that the second guy was a little confused himself. If you are active on Sprint now and if that is the device you would be trading in, along with the fact that you did order it online, I think what I've mentioned above is to hold true. For anyone that pre-orders online will follow the normal protocol of waiting to receive the device and to ship it back with the provided pre-paid label.
Bare in mind, most of these workers at any cell phone place don't really have that much of an IQ. I can bet that the majority of people in this community have more knowledge than they do with phones in general. Remember, most of them are just non tech people who are just there to make a pay check and are robots to scripts and training that they receive. I'm used to receiving different answers all the time....hilarious but true.

Yes, this is ideally the way Samsung would want it done, but it's not the only way. The main thing here is having that 'trade-in' receipt to show a trade-in value of $10 or more. That's it. Well of course the proof of pre-order receipt too.
So the way you did it is 1st best. Pre-ordering online and/or Calling 611 to pre-order and waiting to receive the phone, while sending your trade in back is the 2nd best. :highfive:

T-Mobile is not very familiar with the promo. Believe me, I've called them many times and have spent hours on the phone with them and every time I get something different.
Don't count on getting anywhere while speaking to some tech ignorant trained for nothing rep who just reads a script. I've had a lot of bad experience with reps not knowing crap from crap, unless it involved basic account stuff.
I think there's enough info in this thread now to know what needs to be done.
We'll be good either way. :good:

Well if you went with the Nexus 6 you will still not be getting a good of a deal. The $200 promo is hard to beat.
I'm pretty sure Best Buy is known to not have TM within their Samsung department within the store. You can get TM Pre-Paid from the Best Buy mobile section in the store, but that's all I've seen. I think? Someone confirm this.
The walmart plan that you have is the best TM pre-paid plan for anyone who uses little minutes. You can't beat it.

The Nexus 6 may be $200 less than the Note4 without promos & it's not clear I qualify for this promo given what I've already described (unless someone suggests the least expensive qualifying phone that meets the $10 minimum trade in for the $200 promo) & if I'd be willing to wait for a non-instant credit through Samsung compared to BestBuy (who doesn't carry T-Mobile devices) instant credit but price isn't the main factor in my decision. I'd like to get the Note4 for nearly $200 less especially since I find its speaker disappointing but at this point may wait to hear more about the Nexus6 or potentially get both & possibly return the one I'm least overall satisfied with.. :victory:

Trying to do this right now and its not accepting my IMEI or Wifi Mac! Am i correct in understanding that u need the Note 4's IMEI and Mac Address and not the trade in device?
Because before entering your pre-order date and IMIE and wifi mac Address it says:
"We'll also need your new device's IMEI or Hex MEID number and Wi-Fi MAC address"
(Emphasis on NEW device's)
So we can only submit this once we get our Note 4s?

Correct, you need to enter your Note 4 IMEI number and Wifi Mac address for the rebate.

That's great that you're exercising your options. I hope you find that perfect phone. IMO at the end of the day, the Note 4 will be a better phone. Spec wise, in every way it is. Design wise I think the N4 is much better. I've played with the N4 extensively at Best Buy and I did not notice any speaker issue. In fact, to me it seemed more beefy than the N3. When I had the N3, ViperAudio equalizer brought it to life. For us ROM geeks, I wouldn't ever put my final judgement on the stock TW / Software and its abilities, because it's just a matter of a 'short time' before we got some incredible ROM's that will make the N4 even more than what it is. :good:

Should I purchase from AT&T or LetsTalk?

AT&T will charge me $200 for a Tilt. I can sign up for AT&T service and get it for FREE at LetsTalk.com. Is there any reason NOT to purchase at LetsTalk. Do I get the same warranty, 30 day trial, AT&T tech support, swap out if phone goes bad??
If you are buying AT&T service then Yes you will get tech support regardless of where you purchased it from. Did you read online reviews on LetsTalk. I would type in Letstalk reviews and google and read their reputation.
I'm not sure if you'll get the 30 days. Did you read the fine print?
I have purchased phones from let's talk before and was satisfied. There was an argument over whether or not we made a one or two year contract but that was settled. But for the ridiculous price reduction you can get on that site, I would say it is prob worth it. I am pretty sure there is no 30 day trial though...
As of right now, you can also choose to not add a data plan, which is definitely a plus in my opinion.
Hope this helps
Get it from Let's Talk. There is no point in spending more money for the same exact thing. I just bought my Tilt from letstalk about 3 weeks ago. I'm satisfied. The only thing to consider is they charged me taxes (website said to CA and TX residents only) based on it's actual value which came out to be about $37. If you'd like, I can send you a "Refer a Friend" email and it says we should both get $25 from your order.
Also, FYI for anyone else interested. My work is part of the ATT premier and I qualify for a discount. I've added my number and the website did says I was accepted (have to wait 2 billing cycles to verify). Some people were concerned if they bought from Letstalk.com they would not qualify for their works discount. So far for me it looks good.
I've bought phones from letstalk and never had a problem but I never tried to retrun anything.
I did try buying a Tilt from Newegg with AT&T service, AT&T didn't work at my house so I returned it, they refunded me the money for the handset but didn't cancel the account. I found this out when I got my second bill, after 30 days. AT&T was awsome allowing me to pay just what I used and not charging me an ETF but unless you know if it will work where you want it i would stick with the local AT&T store.
I saved a few dollars by buying from Newegg but it could have been a costly mistake.

HTC One for $29 (Upgrade or new) this weekend

Hey guys,
I just figured out how to get the HTC One for $29 after rebates (visa gift cards), and ordered the phone. This offer is only good this weekend so I thought I would share
First go to http://www.wirelessmarketplus.com and order the phone for $149. That comes with an offer to get a $20 Visa Gift Card After you activate.
After that, go to http://www.htctradeup.com/htcone/100promo/?q=start and use promo code HTC100. this site asks you to trade in your old "smart" phone for $100+ in Visa Gift cards. I am trading in either my HTC Touch Pro 2 or a Motorola Droid 1 that I had laying around (both of them qualified for the $100 back)
So there you have it. after all is said and done, it's $29. hope someone else gets use out of this.

quick question, i have an old BlackBerry curve that qualifies but in order to get the $100 do you have to have a phone that was recently active? This blackberry hasen't been active in almost 2 years (ive been using a GS2 but want to keep it as a backup device). Anyone know if this will work?
Thanks

I don't think it has to be active. the HTC questionnaire said nothing about that, only the condition (no water damage, does it turn on, screen ok). The Touch Pro 2 I am turning in hasn't been active in several years.
ok great, yea its in perfect condition so i might as well go ahead. Im grabbing my H1 tmrw so I might as well give it a shot. The stupid blackberry has just been collecting dust anyway haha

Read the terms and conditions carefully. Somewhere in the fine print was a clause that said it had to be the phone active on the account prior to the upgrade. Might be worth activating the old phone for a week or so, just to be sure.
I pulled my wife's old LG Optimus V out of the drawer, took it to the Sprint store and activated it in place of my Shift. Then sold my Shift on Swappa, bought the One, and sent the Optimus to HTC for the $100. Came out ahead $75 and have a shiny new One.

Just a heads up for those who were looking into the trade up offer you have to register on the HTC website and they will send you a specific promo code not sure if just HTC100 works or not... and as for terms and conditions i thought it said you had to send in a previous HTC smartphone (I'm sending in my Evo 3D) I think it was like a customer loyalty promo thing...
but i could be totally wrong if so please correct me I'd hate to be tellin' people the wrong stuff...
ps. you guys S**K, , but really super dissapointed... I pre-ordered mine with sprint silly:dumb idea i know but they gave me an early upgrade) So i missed all the good deals you guys are gettin' now... damn I wish i had waited, the only thing that could make this phone any better would have been getting one free, I mean a phone this amazing for $100 is great but free, man thats sweet!!! good for you guys though:good:

Haha, should've had Sprint push the upgrade, then went online for the good deals.
The HTC100 promo is only good this weekend and only using that link. The pre register is something else (though I did that too). Also I don't see how the phone would have to be active if the site lets me select the Verizon Motorola droid 1 as a valid option.

I just bought another one for my wife's line from Wirefly but they are sold out. Still $149.99 - $100 - $20 = 29.99 is pretty great! Silver only though.
Awesome deal, but not yet complete
HTC One (Black) purchased through Wirefly F&F for $119 today. I followed the aforementioned steps and got the $100 trade-in showing. If I select the "Continue" button (given the following verbiage: "You can click Continue if you've purchased your new HTC One phone and are ready to complete your Trade Up now."), the next screen requires the ESN from my new phone. Obviously I would need the phone in hand to enter that information, so it seems the best I can do is wait for the shipment to arrive from Wirefly.
But that is the rub. I can't complete the on-line trade in process by 5/5 because it's unlikely I will physically have the phone by then. Per the trade-up site, "Complete the online trade in process, by 5/5/13 (no later than 11:59PM EST)". This has me worried I will be denied.
What should I do?
Thanks!

The rep I talked to at wirefly told me the delay in shipping would not affect any promotions. I took that to mean HTC will change the dates like they did for the original promotion because the phones were delayed.

I had did the pre-register like quite a few here did and got a new email from htc on May 1 saying buy new One by May 19 send in old by June 19
http://www.htctradeup.com/htcone/ and from that link you get this link http://www.htctradeup.com/htcone/?q=terms_of_use and in section 8 ( nice pun in there ) you get To receive the $100 trade in value (or actual device trade in value, whichever is greater) in exchange for the Device you trade in, you must register valid email address on or before April 4, 2013 at HTC OneTM Upgrade site, you must purchase and activate a new HTC One by May 19, 2013 and mail in your used Device with a valid Proof of Purchase of your HTC One (copy of UPC or invoice/receipt showing the IMEI) post marked by June 19, 2013.
Looks like the phones are about to start shipping. I had a live chat with support and they were able to give me the ESN number of my new HTC One, so I can finish the paperwork to get my $100

Want an S4? Wait until July 19th.

Just read today that on 7/19 sprint will be doing BOGO on Galaxy S3 and S4.
Offer valid on new accounts and upgrade eligible lines. So you buy one S4 at regular price and get a second one Free!

I am sure amazon and every other retailer on line will smash that deal, they will would probably offer it for 100 or so.
Same with the htc one, sprint dropped the price to 200, and amazon has it for 50 dollars now..
That great

Yea but sprint doesn't compete with online retailers. Most companies can't.
And the HTC one has always been 200 since the day it was released.
But there are ways a new customer can get an HTC one or S4 completely free.

Best buy always has various great deals the one for the HTC One is good right now. $99 for the One trade in your old phone and put the amount toward the One and get a $50 gift card for Best Buy. The S4 had a deal a week ago. I will never buy from anywhere but Best Buy from now on and the last place would be from Sprint. They screw me over on my data enough I don't need there ridiculous prices and activation fees and about 1/3 the price for trading in your phone as Best Buy.

What makes you think you don't get charged activation/upgrade fees from Best Buy? Read the contract.
A Sprint store would offer discounts on accessories with a phone purchase, Best Buy does not.
A Sprint store will take the time to educate the customer on their new phone, Best Buy does not.
A Sprint store will assist the customer with applying or re-validating their discount, Best Buy does not.
A Sprint store has access National Sales Support (NSS) to resolve complicated issues, Best Buy does not.
1/3 the price on Buy Back? Where do you get that info from? Sure, Best Buy MAY give you a little more for your phone than a Sprint store will, but we're talking maybe $20 tops. Sprint follows a national AVERAGE for Buyback value on phones.
Sprint stores can also offer different credits and discounts to beat Best Buy prices, such as the $100 port-in credit, or the ability to get $100 off any phone if you sign up for Sprint's Home Phone Connect service. I had a customer the other day who walked out with a FREE Galaxy S4 and free accessories... he had an iPhone 5 from Verizon and cancelled his Verizon contract. He got $100 for keeping his Verizon number, and another $100 for signing up for the Phone Connect... so that's a free S4 right there. Then he traded in his iPhone 5 for a $245 credit and used that money to buy a bunch of stuff for his new phone. Total out the door cost = FREE.
Best Buy can't match everything we do, as Sprint corporate won't allow it.
Hey Ryan, do you think you could explain how this deal works? Do we need two valid upgrade lines or can I walk in the store with my upgrade and walk out with two s4's?

Yes, you need two VALID lines. You must meet 1 of these 3 qualifications:
1) Be a new customer activating at least 2 new lines of service.
2) Be an upgrade eligible customer upgrading at least 2 new lines of service.
3) Be an upgrade eligible customer upgrading at least 1 line of service and adding at least 1 new line.
Any of those scenarios will qualify you for the BOGO offer.

Hmm..this sounds like a cool deal. I switched my line from ATT about 2 days ago. I was gonna wait till next month to switch my wife's line over to Sprint. But if they would let me get a free S4 for her considering I just started service a couple days ago, that'll be great. But I doubt they will go for it...but I'll definitely call and try to get this deal next week when its made public...

Won't work. When the store processes the phone in SNAP, your line would be a service when it has to be a new or upgrade. So even IF the store personnel didn't know what they were doing and gave you the in-store credit, Sprint themselves would not pay the store back for the credit because the BOGO offer was done wrong.
The only way you can do this is if you add TWO more lines of service. Then just give the 3rd S4 to someone else or something.

Buddy you got all the wrong information. I work for Best Buy Mobile, and we do all of that.
Buy any case upto 24.99 get a zaggshield HD or car charger for only $10. OR all 3 for just $50
Buy any case upto 34.99 get a Zaggsheild HD or car charger for only $10 Or all 3 for $60
We price match accessories to any online or store retailer, including the $50 Otterbox's for $25 that are on sale at Amazon. And most of the time if you ask if you can give a discount on a case or charger, mobile manager or sales leads can give you a "customer satisfaction" discount.
I don't think any carrier store spends as much time with a single customer as we do at BBYM. We do not work on commission and don't rush you out of the store to get to the next customer to make money off of them and rush them out. There have been times where I have had older customers come into the store and I've spend an hour with them just educating them about the technology, finding out what their needs are, what they plan on using the phones for, and all of the different pricing options, plans etc. then another hour setting the phones up for them, google, corporate email accounts, apps, showing them how to work it and etc.
True we can't do the $100 credit for new service/bringing your number from another carrier, but Our system we use does allow us to search for corporate discounts to apply to the customers account.
And we do have NSS access to Sales Support for issues that may come up, and trust me, Sprint is the one that usually has the most issues with phones not wanting to update and activate and prl and profile updates not going through, also we have our Sprint Account Manager just a phone call away if there are issues that need immediate attention that calling NSS can't resolve as far as phones not activating due to still being on another account or Bad ESN's that need to be taken care of to reactivate for the customer.
As far as our protection plan, the best in the industry, $9.99 a month (a dollar cheaper than Sprint) with $0 deductible and UNLIMITED Claims. Although we do not cover loss of theft, but then that's why we have zero deductible and unlimited claims. As long as you have your phone, whatever is wrong with it, (cracked, broken, dropped in toilet, charger, battery, charge port) we'll take care of it. As for Iphones go, we now even replace the glass In Store. And if you have our Geek Squad Protection you automatically get our Trade-In Plus for free, and that will give you an additional $50 on top the trade in value of the phone.

I'm going on information I have on hand, where I live our Best Buy sucks and I've been told that by customers many times. People tell me it's just like RadioShack, where yea they'll sell you a phone and if you're lucky they'll transfer contacts for it, but that's it. And the reason is BECAUSE you don't work on commission... a LOT of salespeople have no motivation to go the extra mile. They make a base pay and that's it. If they deal with 20+ customers a day, each one ending with the same result, then where's the drive to be the best? If you can't LOSE money as a sales rep, then you shouldn't call yourself a salesman IMHO. In that case you're just a customer service guy.
People have commission all wrong and it cracks me up when I see the Best Buy commercials that say you guys don't work on commission. Commission is what motivates salesmen to do a good job. Say a customer comes in my store and buys 4 new phones and I make $100 off that single transaction... it's my JOB to make sure they're 100% satisfied, because if they're not they have every right to return those phones and then I lose the commission, so now I just wasted time AND lost money because I half ass job. A typical single line upgrade will last about 45 minutes with us. We don't rush, and if we have customers waiting we simply set the expectations, tell them how long we'll be, and invite them to come back later so they don't have to wait. We go over ever aching detail from contact, picture, video, email, ringtone transfers to customer education. Then afterwards, the customer gets a CSAT call where they get to rate us. If our CSAT score is too low, we lose even more money off our commission. So once again, the result is that if you're dealing with a salesman who's pay and lively hood is directly effected by your (the customer's) level of satisfaction, then why do people assume commission-based salesmen don't do their job? Makes no sense.
But I digress.. Don't get me wrong bud, I am certainly NOT saying you do a bad job. If your particular Best Buy is a good one, and you in particular do an awesome job in phone sales, then that's great. I'm simply saying ours is not a good store, and the people there don't really give a crap.
Also, our accessory deals are pretty good. We do almost the same thing as you... buy any case for $29.99 or less and we'll bundle screen protectors and a car charger for a flat $40. We simply don't offer Zagg's because we don't believe in wet application screen protectors. OtterBox's are a big seller for us, and if you buy a Defender you don't need a Zagg anyway. We can't really match Amazon pricing for OtterBox because we're a preferred retailer, but we'll take a Defender down to $39.99 if we have too and still make a bundle deal.

If you port your number to Sprint from a different carrier you will get $100 in-store credit. If you sign up for the Home Phone Connect on top of that you'll get another $100 in-store credit. That means you can get an S4 for only $50 in store, but then you get a $50 mail-in rebate. So after everything is said and done, you get a free GS4.

Ordering through best buy with trade in

Anyone know the correct steps to ordering a Verizon note 8 on best buy and getting the full trade in allowance? I'm not sure if I am suppose to pre order on best buy first then go to Verizon's site and get the $480 bill credit. I went through the process of pre ordering on Verizon's site and was offered the $480 but it's cheaper on best buy. Any help would be appreciated.

Wondering if those of us in the UK will be getting any discount deals too, as I'd like to finally upgrade off my old note-3 having had the initial note-7 and then its replacement on the first recall and then of course that also got recalled. Not heard any news to say UK/Eur would get any sort of loyalty offer yet...
Anyone know how to get the trade in of $425 for trading in a Note 7? I thought I read that you have to do that direct through Samsung, but so far have not found a place to do so.

I don't know best buys deal - or any deals, I haven't looked yet. I will buy direct through Samsung IF they actually give me $425 for my Note 7. Often there is fine print and ways they can wiggle you down on what they actually give you for a trade in. So until I know for sure that I can get $425 for my Note 7 on a trade in for the Note 8, I am not doing anything. Although my Note 7 is not usable as a phone, just a smaller wifi tablet at this point.

just got done speaking with Samsung. here is the link to check your eligibility. I did qualify, they basically say the trade in has to be almost perfect, no cracks, black lists, powers on, good software. I think they should offer it through the carriers.
here is the link. not sure how long the promo is, they didn't have an expire date when I asked. I still think I may wait a little to see if they offer it in blue

Anyone willing to scan a note 7 receipt. I'm eligible for the loyalty promo by email, but I don't have any receipt docs from my original TMobile in store buy.

just got done speaking with Samsung. here is the link to check your eligibility.

Thanks. I have already pre-ordered the Note 8. I did use the $425 trade in program. You cannot trade in a Note 7 if you have one, but you can trade in many other kinds of phones. I thought that a bit odd as I thought the point was for them to get N7's OUT of the hands of people still using them somehow (I haven't had mine activated since early February).
I am trading my S7E in, which I bought mint, but used back in early February to take the place of my soon to be deactivated Note 7. I paid $275 for it back in February, so that is a good ROI on the phone, which has just been sitting in a drawer since April. It has been my backup phone and is in very good condition (almost mint). I am currently using an S8+ but I will keep that as my backup phone most likely. Again, thanks for the info and link!

Someone on another thread contacted samsung about there note 7 and they are giving them a full refund for the note 7
I guess I order through best buy. Then go to Verizon's site to get the $480 bill credit which will put my bill at just under $13 a month. Tomorrow I'm going to call and double check before I pull the trigger. I wonder if Sammy would take S8+ for a trade in?

T-Mobile OnePlus 6T Trade In Offer: Expires November 8th

Hi all!
I just wanted to share this support article page I found while searching more extensively into the $300 off at T-Mobile for their variant of the 6T. According to it, the promotion will be ending on November 8th.
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-38863
Dang it. Still waiting on my trade in phone to arrive. Might be SOL!
If you have the imei of the old phone, you can order the 6t now and you have 30 days to send in the old phone.

Ooh that's a good idea. I was hoping to do it in person just so it wouldn't potentially be rejected, but it was like a $50 trade in phone, so I'm not too terribly worried about it either.
Yeah, just go into store, give them the imei, and then you have 30 days.

When I bought mine at the store on the day of Tmo's launch, they told me that if I purchased in the store, I had to have the trade in phone with me, at that time to trade in.
If I would have waited for the phone to come in the mail, Tmo would include a pre-paid postage label as well as a 30 day window to send it in. Not sure if this was just a way to keep my business in the store or not
I went to the T mobile store with my One Plus One phone for trade in. The phone actually had a problem. The sim tray is gone and a part of my previous sim is stuck inside the sim slot. So the phone is kind of useless for me. Other than that the phone doesnt have any problem.
The t mobile employee checked the below
- Whether display is working fine
- What is the model number of the phone
- Connected to charger and checked whether the charging is working fine
He didn't check the sim tray
After that he gave me the prepaid label and envelope and asked me to send it to T mobile.
Does this mean I got lucky and they approved my trade in phone?
Or will there be another set of inspection once this phone reaches T mobile. If so and if they found the sim tray / slot issue , will they deny the trade in offer for me?
From what I heard they do a much more thorough inspection when u mail it back and they can reject the trade in unless the rep approved it in store already.

Is there a way to check whether they have approved it in.store?
The only reason I went with T Mobile is because of this Trade in offer
So they give you paperwork if the phone had water damage, if the screen is cracked, of the device can power on, if the device is locked to a user. I traded in my OnePlus 2 and it didn't have a great charge for the battery but it easily passed.
To answer the question, all the person in the store does is enter the IMEI number. Once they do that, TMobile sends you an email stating you have 30 days to send it back. They give you postage in your email which you can print out.
The in store person doesn't approve it per say, just they make sure the IMEI matches what they have in the computer.
I didn't have my OnePlus 2 in hand but had a family member and me the IMEI and I gave it to them. Then thinking they would send it, I brought it back later only for them to tell me to print out the postage and mail it myself.

My trade in was approved in store..no paperwork..they checked for water damage etc. got the credit show up to my bill in the erp section along with 50 dollars upfront. So yes reps can approve it directly at a corporate retail store. Not sure about authorized resellers.

Is the deal worth it over getting the phone on JOD? What's the best path towards upgrading to the OP7?

If you have an eligible device for trade-in, I'd go that route (EIP).
I would have, but, I didn't have a trade-in, so, JOD was my next best option, only $30 out of pocket in-store & i was on my way.
There's no guarantee that T-Mobile will carry the OP7, could be they only do the T models, or, perhaps, this is a one & done deal, no one really knows at this point.
Worse case scenario for you is you'll have a brand new OP6T at less than ½ of MSRP & if you find it's not for you, you could still sell it & come out ahead.

Thanks. I have a OnePlus One or Pixel 2 XL to trade in. But I still don't have a clear answer on a few things:
* What happens to the credits if I JUMP next November or earlier when I make enough device payments in advance?
* What is the payoff for a SIM unlock? $280 or $580?

You get the bill credits regardless, but,I'd wait until you actually see them before paying off the device in full.
The bill credits actually go towards your entire bill,so, they'll continue until they expire.
As for the SIM Unlock, technically, you need to have the phone for 40 days & pay off the balance ($280),but,a lot of people have had success in getting it already, some still owing on the balance.
I'd call 611 & talk to your regional Team of Experts if you want to try your luck, they're more helpful than the Twitter & chat B.S....
