[Q] Problems with unlocking bootloader for Sony Xpera SP - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm having problems unlocking the bootlaoder for my Sony Xpera SP.
The part I'm getting stuck at is where I'm supposed to connect my phone in fastboot mode to the PC.
I've tried installing a bunch of drivers everywhere, followed guides and stuff, but whatever I do, I can't get the phone in proper fastboot mode.
The flashtool says:
"Drivers need to be installed for connected device.
You can find them in the drivers folder of Flashtool."
First off, I can't even find the drivers for Sony Xperia SP, but there are tons for the S and P versions.
But when I try installing those drivers it still doesn't work.
I just want to install CM 11 on it, though I never thought it would be this much work.. I've been trying to fix this for over 5 hours already.
It would be really nice if anyone could help me through this.

You'll need to run the installer located within Flashtool install directory. It seems you are currently run Windows. Assuming you did not change the install path, you can find Flashtool in the root of your local hard disk. Navigate to C:\Flashtool\drivers and then execute the installer there in. Tick "Flashmode drivers" and "Fastboot drivers" cause obviously you'll require it. Scroll down a bit and tick "Common drivers for Viskan board". This will install proper flash drivers.

Afterwards for the exclusive driver for your SP (I am assuming you're on stock), Open PC Companion (install it if you don't have it) then connect your Xperia SP with your cable. This will install the drivers for your SP. If you have done this before, you actually already have the drivers installed.
Note that if above methods are well executed by you, you'll find out on the first connect, flashtool will detect the phone partially and somehow later it disconnects. Don't worry, somehow through this process your computer might be installing additional drivers. Retry to connect your Xperia SP.
Above all, do note that in order to unlock the bootloader, you'll need to connect your phone in flashmode. To do so, when prompted, while the phone in its powered down state, hold the volume down button then connect the cable to your phone.

Thanks a lot!
I'm not sure what the problem was, but over the night + installing PC Companion fixed it. Finally CM 11 is mine

Same problem here...
Hi,
I've already done everything as I see in this post, but when I go to "Select your device type from the list below" I don't find the "Sony sa0107" or anything like that...
I've already installed the "Flashtool-drivers.exe" a lot of turns, but still the same... Could you please help me? There is no direct driver to install?
Thanks.

If the sony driver doesnt pop up or the correct device in the list, go into settings, developer menu and enable usb debugging, then load up into fastboot again.

[Q] Unlock bootloader on Xperia T!?

Hi,
So im trying to unlock the bootloader on the Xperia T, and I have checked if im allowed and it says YES, but when I try and connect the device in fastboot mode, I press volume up and then put cable in and then power the device on, the blue light stays on for 3 seconds or so and then the phone just boots up normally leaving the computer to say "Unknown Device". I have tried connecting using USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, while in USB 2.0 the device turns on with the blue led and stays there but fastboot does not bring up the device. Its like its not even connected!?
I am using Windows 8.1 and I have already disabled the driver signature!! I am also pretty sure I have installed the fastboot drivers correctly!
Do you think I should install a fresh copy of Windows 7 and try installing it using that?
Any Ideas!!
Thank You!! Reply ASAP!

Some xperia phone have problem staying on fastboot mode if haven't have driver install already on the computer, so to install fastboot driver is you pinpoint to the driver installation in device manager as soon as you plug in your usb, sure the phone will boot normally, but you don't close the driver installation first, you go to select driver manually and select your driver folder then click to it, but stop at the last stage where installation will begin, then shut off phone and plug in usb with volume up and immediately install the driver you select just now.if everything went well you should be able to install the driver...
In W8.1, microsoft change the usb policies, so there is no possible way to connect phone in fastboot mode using windows usb driver, thats normally refer to USB 2.0, but if your USB 3.0 are using chips from Intel, NEC, AMD,etc, and are running driver provided by vendor instead of microsoft then it is possible to run fastboot mode with USB 3.0 port.
hope that help
Thanks!

i know there is a problem with flashmode, but i don't know what is it!

thanks for any help
Try Sony Update Service. Download from their website, install and try
i try it but even don't know phone when connect it in flashmode!
Start up Sony Update Service, select your phone and follow the stepps. At one point you'll see this pic:
Remove the backcover. If you look closely you'll see a tiny yellow button.. Use a pen or paperclip to push and hold it for a few second to turn it off (will take some time and patience because our phone has its own will xD and will boot up again) Plug in cable into phone and into pc and press volume down untill you see a green light. This indicates flashmode.
If it goes well the programm should start doing its download and flash work
the green light is showing but Sony Update Service don't start flashing & it remaining in your screenshot stat!
Got a picture for me?
On second thought:
You got flashtool installed? (and thus the drivers located in C:\Flashtool\drivers?)
picture is like post 4#
yes i install it & drivers
I mean of your phone? I mean if the phone is connected into flashmode it should work.. So I dont understand why it wont work...
@amir_n71, did you download a firmware to use with Flashtool?
yes i download
And tried ofcourse...
Prior issue now is we need to get the phone into working flashmode so that Flashtool or Sony Update Center can reflash the Firmware...
Just to be sure, did you:
a. Check if your battery had enough juice left for flashing and, if not, tried to recharge it,
b. Try to enter recovery by powering on the phone while holding Volume Down button (if you had a recovery previously installed),
c. Use a Windows computer,
d. Exit and kill any running ADB processes (Sony Update Service and PC Companion included) before trying to flash with Flasthool?
and then:
1. Power off the phone (using side power button OR by pressing the Off button under the battery cover),
2. Download latest Flashtool,
3. Install FT AND flashmode and fastboot drivers,
4. Download a suitable official firmware in a form of a .FTF file (full firmware, not just a kernel),
5. Copy that firmware to the "firmwares" folder in FT's install directory,
6. Start FT, click on a "lightning" icon, wait for the proram to finish its thing, select the firmware you downloaded, click on "Flash", connect the phone to a USB port while powered off and holding Volume Down button until FT started the flashing process?

Just disconnect and reconnect. I got that a lot with my Xperia ray
Verstuurd vanaf mijn C5303 met Tapatalk
i tried but no answering!
ADB drivers: None
Fastboot Drivers: None
I suggest you reinstall Flashtool. It misses some drivers. (perhaps the cause?)
And also update Flashtool... See their thread and website
i installed latest version from flashtools website!
Now install fastboot and flashmode drivers that came with Flashtool. Open "drivers" folder, run that single EXE file, select fastboot and flashmode from the list and install them.
And be careful to run the correct version of Flashtool on your system! Run "flashtool64.exe" on a 64bit Windows, and "flashtool.exe" if you have a 32bit Windows OS.

[STOCK][GUIDE] A3300-GV/G & A3300-HV/H Return To Factory Stock Firmware

Hello everyone,
I am back on working with Lenovo tablets again. Lots of people asking me that how to return after successful or unsuccessful attemps of installing roms especially cyanogen mod series.
If you still insist on using Android 5.1.1 you can go to my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3267457.
Here is how to return to stock step by step :
First of all here are the links :
A3300-GV/G : http://www.mediafire.com/download/o28ke5y92kxvhui/Stock_GV_Benzersizadam.rar
A3300-HV/H :https://www.mediafire.com/?2rivx6bkg5e4ix6
1) Extract all files to seperate folders.
2) INSTALL DRIVERS (if you didnt install before. and/or if you are using Windows lower version (lower than 8/8.1/10)
If you still need to install drivers in Windows 8/8,1/10 you need to Disable Driver Enforcement please follow this guide :
a. Go To PC Settings
b. Switch over to the “Recovery” section.
c. Then go to Advanced startup
d. You will need to click on the “Restart now” button.
e. Once your Computer has rebooted you will need to choose the Troubleshoot option.
f. Then head into Advanced options.
g. Then Startup Settings.
h. Since we are modifying boot time configuration settings, you will need to restart your computer one last time.
I. Here you will be given a list of startup settings that you can change. The one we are looking for is “Disable driver signature enforcement”. To choose the setting, you will need to press the F7 key.
3) After driver installation run Flash Tool (flash_tool.exe with green icon)
4) Choose scatter loading folder and find your "MT6582_Android_scatter.txt" file from target_bin or rom folder.
5) If you do all settings correct Flash Tool will be look like this :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
6) Power Off your tablet.
7) Put a pin to reset hole and push only for 1-2 seconds then release it. DONT TOUCH ANY BUTTON DONT CONNECT TO PC !
8) Hit download from Flash Tool wait for loading finish.
9) THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP ! Connect your tablet to computer while you are pressing volume up button. Dont release until it starts to flash.
10) Now you can release all buttons it will flash automaticly more less 5-10 minutes. After it finish you will get a green completed circle.
11) Disconnect your tablet from PC and now power up !
12) VOILA ! Your tablet returned to factory software.
I hope it fixes people's brick problem. Tried with my A3300-H and worked perfect !
Hello devs!! Need some help.. I have a a3300GV tablet which was stuck at bootloop few months back. With some research and diu tutorials I learnt that it was bricked and I followed the DIYs and flashed the appropriate ROM using SP Flash tool. It worked and then a few weeks from now, the apps started to crash one by one and it came back to previous stage Dead and bricked.
And now when I connect it to computer via USB it detects the device as MTxxx (something similar to it, which I ignored).
Tried the same DIY of flashing again, but found no luck this time. Can someone suggest a solution for it. Plz :crying:
Will it work when I do it in twrp

Just to exclude the easy possibilities:
From your phone's status bar drop-down menu, does it say "charging via usb"? If so, you need to change that to "media transfer" (or something alike).
As for fastboot, this wouldn't actually be nessecary though. Here just make sure you open cmd as an administrator (on Windows, which I assume you're using, since you mention a device manager - on linux you would need to be root).
And, did you activate usb debugging in the developer settings already?
Maybe also do a windows update with your device connected, if still no go.
I have the same problem. I've tried everything without result.
You guys need to give more detailed information, if you want more detailed help..
What ROM are you on?
List everything that is not working.
List your installation procedure.
When did the problem occur for the first time?
What exact steps did you already try?
Which software versions are you using?
For instance using an older fastboot version may result in many problems, but one can only blindly guess with that little concrete info.
If I had such general issues somewhat relating to storage though, I personally would wipe my entire phone in both slots and format data (if you can somehow enter recovery without fastboot ofc, like from a terminal emulator app or via an extended reboot menu present in many custom ROMs).
Oh, and is adb working?
I have Android 9, November.
When I insert the cable into my computer, it starts charging, and an unrecognized usb error appears. There is no mobile option to choose what to do, not even in developer options.
I tried several drivers, not even the MI PC Suit knows cel, is waiting to connect, fastboot also without recognizing. I tried the drivers that have the bootloader unlock topic, unsuccessfully too.
The phone charges normal, and the C to 3jack USB adapter works. I've tried other cables, other computers, and even linux.
I bought the used cell phone, the old owner never plugged it into the computer, so I didn't even know about this mistake.
I've tried system hardreset, unsuccessfully too. I have no recovery installed, and fastboot works.
I see the error in the images, already tried several drivers. There were people who changed the door... sometimes it doesn't even appear, nothing just happens.

I have Android 9, November.
When I insert the cable into my computer, it starts charging, and an unrecognized usb error appears. There is no mobile option to choose what to do, not even in developer options.

If you are able to use linux - have you made absolutely sure that fastboot was up to date and did you use it as super user (That is after doing "sudo su")?

fastboot does not detect the phone, neither on windows nor linux .. not even mi suite does, there are several people with the same problem in mi A2 lite and mi A2 too ... it seems like it was after the October update.
Hello! I have a similar problem. did you find a solution?
