[ROM][OFFICIAL] NamelessROM - KLTE - 4.4.4 - 20141013 - Samsung Galaxy S 5 Unified Development

What is NamelessROM ?
Simple - NamelessROM is opportunity.
An opportunity to have a voice to the development team of the after-market firmware that you run on your device.
The main goal of NamelessROM is to provide quality development for android devices, phones and tablets alike.
NamelessROM developers are available nearly 24/7 and respond to bug reports and feature requests almost instantly.
This availability will allow you, the end-user, to have direct input into exactly what features and functions are included on the firmware that YOU run.
NamelessROM maintains features and functions of several well-known open-source, AOSP-based ROMs, as well as many features of our own.
See the screenshots in the 3rd post, and visit our website for more detailed information.
NamelessROM = endless possibilities. Unless you have an iPhone, then you're out of luck

Standard stock CM Kernel im guessing?

Yeah, it runs very good for me. I stumbled upon it and noticed it wasn't here so I thought I would share. I have had no issues with it thus far.

FC for me on display & lights in the settings menu.

how is it working out for you now?

Surprisingly, this ROM is killing it for me. Actually one of the better ROMs available, atlas for my phone.

I'm on T-Moble (G900T if that helps) and every time I reboot, it automatically shows the navbar and I have to go into the setting to disable it. Is there anyway to permanently disable it?

Loving this ROM! Great work!

I've noticed that among the other ROMs I've tried this one tries something different that works really well. They implemented SuperSU by Chainfire and it seems to grant permissions more effectively than the built-in SU system in most AOSP roms. I was having trouble copying and pasting files to the system directory with the built-in superuser but using SuperSU on this ROM gave me access back. Anyway, it was a nice touch and I hope they keep it implemented in this ROM.

I am also on G900T snd do not have the same problem. Did you dirty flash by chance?

What would I dirty flash this over? lol. No, i didn't dirty flash. Did a clean install.

Loving this ROM. I'm on the G900T and I'm not having the nav bar issue. Well technically it's a G900T1 since I'm with metro. Would it be possible to include halo and floating windows in the upcoming updates?

I will be maintaining Moto G for SlimRoms and SpaceKiller has been so kind to offer to manage the thread. Will be considered unofficial till after we hit stable which is very soon as we don't want to break anything with the stuff that we have to push to get all devices working. This is coming officially from us Slim Developers.
This ROM is awesome!!!!

Testing on xt1031 (Boost Mobile)
Took a bit to install (be patient). Installed with CWM Advanced Edition. Complains of no sim card (xt1031 is cdma). So no sim needed. I currently do not have service, so I can't really test phone functions. But on stock 4.4.2 I did have bars indicating data service (3G). Currently do not in Slim. But, someone who actually has service will need to verify that data is working, among the other phone funtions (I do have bars for cell service). Proximity Sensor was working fine over Groove IP. GPS is working fine (seems to be a issue for some people). I tested with Sygic. FM Tuner working. Camera seems to work fine, Everything is great, but I have yet to dig deep. Nice job!
When I wake the screen, it freezes, then I have to sleep it and wake it again before it works. It's annoying but manageable.
It gets stuck on "Mount Data", did a complete Wipe before, my version is the XT1032

Moto G is supported by Slim, but they are working hard in the stable release and adding new phones means more time to spend fixing issues, so no more official devices will be added until SlimKat becomes stable (probably next week), for now it's unofficial.

Edit: for some odd reason root did not want to work. I had to flash the super su package for my root apps to work. Any ideas of what can be causing this?

Known Issues
Active Display causes SystemUI FC. DO NOT activate it or you will have to wipe data
Halo disappears from the screen completely when hidden (There is an option to disable that, but not in this build. Working on it)
Halo is a bit buggy when rotating the screen. Just disable and enable it from the notification drawer.
Multiwindow is still quite buggy, but that's not my fault. Blame team Omni for not finishing it

Congrats on your great work @paxy97
Just want to check how's the battery life on your home-version. I'm using walter79's and very happy with stability and battery.
You mention also in the bugs section that Active Display crashes?? I'm having no issues at the moment, and I really like this feature.
Any clue why it doesn't work on yours? If this is the case, not sure if I should change or maybe wait a bit.
Also, how is it with the Bluetooth issue? Still ongoing?
Anyway, I thank you for the hard work and the effort you are putting into this... keep it up.

Hm strange, when I flashed this ROM and enabled active display systemUI started crashing and I could do anything except boot to recovery and wipe data :/. Also while I was fixing some issues in the code I noticed that a lot of them came from active display conflicts.
I don't know about bluetooth, but I assume it's still bugged since my build is pretty much omni from source. I haven't changed anything regarding bluetooth.
I will ... until july 22nd, because I'm going on vacation for 3 weeks
For old cm themes. there are 9 commits: https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/c/2790/ #mGerrit
https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/q/status:abandoned,n,z
I'm sorry to say that I probably will not be able to make a CM version, because CM code is too different from Paranoid and I get too many errors that can only be solved by rewriting most of the statusbar and notificationService code (which I have neither the time, not the knowlege for). Sorry again, going back to dirty unicorn porting
Don't sweat over it, I assure you your efforts are highly appreciated.
Thank you for your work and please, keep it up!

I am , my pc has been running 48h straight downloading and building. Now I downloading dirty unicorn sources again, because I messed up the last ones. Hopefully I'll at least get that to build. Should not be too difficult though. It's based on pure omni, so I'll just add our device tree from omni's github and use walter personal github for the kernel, which is amazing btw . So hopefully in about 15h you'll have a build if it runs without any errors
New build coming coming soon (today or tomorrow, depends if it builds and uploads before I go to sleep).
Features:
- walter's personal kernel sources (the ones he uses for homemade builds)
- Omni's multiwindow (it's EXTREMELY unstable. It's still under review on gerrit)
- Omni changes so far
* Theme manager is still giving me a lot of errors so sadly no build with it yet

Damn it. I just got up, looked at my PC and realised that it failed to build because I'm out of HDD space -.-. I had 30gb free didn't expect it to use that much. Anyway uploading the build when I come home from school

Try this:
1 - Clean flash ROM
2 - Boot into ROM. Let it be for a minute or two so it can finish cookin'
3 - Reboot into recovery
4 - Flash Gapps
5 - Reboot
I personally recommend this installation method for any AOSP ROM on any device. It's the best way to isolate the source of a whole laundry list of potential problems.

So is that not an issue for anyone else then? Just wanted to check since this was an issue on earlier AOSP 5.1 ROMs (eg building cm12.1 while still in staging) and it popped up again with this after flashing the same exact way I did with cm12.1 which is working. I'll give it another try and report back if it continues to be an issue.

Yes, I am experiencing this also, following the steps of letting ROM boot before flashing anything else. I've had it on other ROMs as well. I will try again when I get back home since my wifi connection at work is always problematic, but I am really excited to try your build!
Didn't think it had anything to do with what I flashed, but I clean flashed only the ROM and it is still not working correctly with passwords on wifi. It will connect if I input the password and then restart. Same issue as pretty much every early 5.1 ROM had. Not exactly sure where the issue is though or how it was fixed. Also gestures aren't working as someone else also said.
WiFi is broken. I can connect by toggling on/off butv that's a pain in the butt. I followed all the steps as OP asks.

Yeah it wouldn't stay on for me either. Clean flash on GPe firmware.
I've only had to toggle WiFi once to get it working. It's annoying when I can't duplicate a bug.
I just uploaded a new build using slimroms kernel source. No kexec hardboot patch on the 5/13 build. Please let me know if it's any better!
Odd I flashed his builds and had absolutely no Wi-Fi issues. I ended up parting ways simply because there was no long press back to kill app option. I used his builds from his afh page. Overall I liked the ROM a lot. The modified trebuchet / slim launcher had a good settings page, though I prefer stock trebuchets ui.

Paranoid Rom

Hello guys how are you!
A few days ago I realized that some developer compiled the paranoid for Moto G4 Play, only for some reason, they excluded, I believe
I think it's a good rom to bring to the Moto G4 Play
It is a test build, of course they won't post it on XDA
It still exists and its build has been updated recently, I tested it and is very stable.

Official Paranoid for G4 Play is impossible. The PA team do not buy Motorolas for some reason. PA is close source but not completely. So this PA won't have colour engine, new pie, pocket mode and all the other PA exclusive features
Great... so I might as well look for a better alternative.

Correction: PA is not completely closed sourced. The ROM in itself is open source (that's how we are able to build it unofficially in the first place). Only certain main features like Color Engine, Pie etc are closed source and available only for Official devices.

Like I said, better look for an alternative. If I can't have the standout features, I might as well either wait for LOS 15 which will by that time hopefully include OMS or switch to one of the other OMS-enabled ROMs out there... crying shame really.
Excuse me for double-posting, but Paranoid Android has or will release the source to all the added features like PIE and Color Engine and stuff like that. Now even unofficial builds can have the same features as the officially supported devices
Thought i'd let you guys know here rather than starting a new thread
Code is out . Compile. Upload. Share. Thank you so very much in advance. =)
I wish I had the knowledge to compile a ROM.
It sucks no one is willing to make PA for our device
Edit:
I tried it and failed already at the horrible description and the fact that the ROM doesn't officially exist for our device.
Turns out the dev made 4.22 builds - I tried them and they will not boot, so don't try them.

It boots up, sim doesn't detect, there is a blue flickering bootanimation. Colour engine, new pie and all other stuff are working. @Dark98. For people for which it didn't boot, when it is boot looping reboot to bootloader and then start. It should work. I hope this becomes stable

I presumed the flickering animation was a boot error - its done that on some past phones 0.o thanks for the information though.

Sim card should be fixed, and the boot animation is because the resolution isnt correct, but as far as I know the only bugs the ROM should have bow are camera problems

[Discussion] Dirty Unicorns DU 12 Hammerhead (8.1) [Development Hult]

DU just released first batch of official Oreo builds and Nexus 5 is lucky to be on 1st line as DU is first one from major custom ROMs league to release official Oreo for hammerhead after testing beta builds for months.
Since DU guys don't officially host/discuss on XDA I'm creating this thread as discussion thread for XDA DU enthusiasts to keep it organised and help each other, be inform this is no way official support thread.
All bug reports (with proper logs) and feature request should go to DU's JIRA
Create Account and Select Project as Android-8.x DU12
You are Not allowed to share any Direct Links regarding DU builds in this thread. (DU maintainers has asked for same in past so we should respect their decision and go to Official G+ for links)
Please follow above rules as Nexus 5 now has only handful of official Maintainers and we don't want to lose them due to mischief of few members.
A simple Google search will also give you,
DU 12
official download page
github
JIRA ( for issue reporting )
DU's official Google+ community.( You can find all links related to DU in about community )

Have you tried formatting to ext4? It was needed for RC builds. Not sure if its required for official build. Also what twrp version are you using?
I'm using it and it's really good. I switched over to ext4 on all my partitions a while ago so maybe that's the cause of the bootloop the above poster is experiencing.
I also wrote a guide for using it with NanoDroid: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75835165&postcount=2692
Hi...

I have the same issue. I haven't tried any other camera apps though.
It flashed and booted fine for me, didn't have to do anything special. Used nano opengapps.
Battery life is great, best of the 8.1 ROMs I've tried. So far everything is smooth and works fine, except camera fc's. Easy enough to flash a working camera, which I did.
Very happy with this, and appreciate the maintainer for his work on hammerhead.
My Report :
Default Camera FCs (You can use Google camera with Magisk Mod to get HDR+ working ) (Already reported to DU team on Jira, You can add your logcat)
Video still feels shaky and unclear on Google camera
Overall Smooth and silk ROM with Handful of nice features. :good:
On comparison with Nougat..well it's still not as stable but hey it's just 1st release.
Just flashed this and my lord its fast and I lobe the boot animation 1st time I've used DU.

Well... just flashed this ROM. Oreo? Yeah!
But... There are some problems. The biggest one: bluetooth. I explore every angle of they posts on G+, official site, and download sections: nobody mention about bluetooth problems. I have a little headset, and now audio during calls is simply TERRIBLE. I know the issue is famous out there, but I hoped that a "stable" release of DU will not have this kind of bug... I can survive for some time, but if nothing will be fixed, I prefer go back to a "stable" Nougat...
Other problem? I had to change/override the camera app. I just found this and install it. Just delete any data of the app and cache, reboot if it doesn't work:

I actually really dislike that animation: too complex and not fully "fluid". Outro is REALLY long. I switched to a pixel boot animation

apkmirror has one that another thread recommended as the last Google camera that works well for N5, it's 3.2.045. No link, I just went to apkmirror and found it. That worked for me.
However, I just checked another camera I have now that's working, and it's 4.2.035, and I'm not sure where I got it from, maybe from another Oreo rom. apkmirror probably has that one, too.
New RC is up..Unfortunately clean flash is required as it's RC and not official release so Signature change:good:
Currently using Unlegacy 8.1 but it lacks quick charging. Does DU supports it?
Should I switch to DU or RR or DarkROM for best battery/performance?
