Thermal control is done by thermald (/system/bin/thermald), I'm pretty happy with it.
fiops is already there
btw with two junior members posting in my thread, you triggered something that automatically added a Q&A forum, so my kernel thread is now a fancy devdb thread

I'm watching forum since 2010, i used to have Desire but couldn't sign up some reason in that time. I see google+ account is to be accepted and signed up
I'm saying with fiops, all other schedulers and cpu governments like smartmax, intellidemand etc.
Btw i love your kernel, my dad very thankful to it. Do you think to improve DTW? sometimes it can be a little laggy. Thank you for your effort btw

I got intellidemand working, it just needs some tweaking. As for the rest, well, submit a feature request in the brand new devdb
The lags have been fixed in version 8.

Stock. But i can't flash original odex or deodex, i think the problem was updater script. So i extract clean rom's meta.inf folder and added odexed's zip. Maybe its the problem. But why i can not to able flash stock odex or deodex? s-off,unlocked,cwm i have.
If i flash your boot7, i lose sd card destination on camera, with stock boot.img i can use it. Interesting

Yes, i tried that odex and deodex. I install from recovery, cwm or twrp says installed with success, but process takes 4-5 second. If i try to boot, there is a warning 'No OS installed, do you really wanna boot?' i had download 4-5 times each zip, don't think files are corrupted

Can be removed 7 vibration at the time? Or can we install original hboot again? I read somewhere, rumrunner changes something about hboot, so it cause 7 vibration. Boot problems are because of it i think

It start when i unlocked the bootloader. I grant s-off like a month after. Before s-off it vibrates 7 time only before boot up. Now vibrates when i enter and exit recovery too. So it vibrates 7 times short after exit recovery and 7 times long vibrates before booting. And it became 14 vibrates at all
It(vibration) can not be removed then?

Change the frequency band in HTC desire 500
Hi,
I bought a HTC desire 500 dual sim in India which supports the following frequency
2G/ 2.5G - GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 900/1800/1900 MHz
3G/ 3.5G - UMTS/ HSPA: 900/2100 MHz with HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps
Now I came to US and here they use 805MHz. Is there any way to change the frequency. Please help...

Successful s-off htc desire 500 dual sim
Finally i managed to successfully s-off my desire 500 dual sim by using rumrunner 0.71 proto (rumrunner 0.5 from official website won't work only makes funny 7 vibrations)..But i don't get it all advantages from it i tried installing stock rom odex 1.06 either from cwm twrp or with ruu mode and it wont install..Only significiant advantage is that i don't need anymore custom kernels for full root access i tried to install busybox and update supersu from playstore with binaries with stock boot from firmware.zip and i did it..Very important before s-off is to kill-server in adb and be ensured that phone is connected to usb 2.0 port on pc and turn off firewall..Very important is that fastboot in power options is turned off..But great disadvantage is that phone becomes test device and you cant turn-off tell HTC

I believe we are getting lost in translation so to speak, let's try for a little more information.
Have you unlocked your boot loader?
Have you rooted your device?
Have put a custom kernel on your device? If so which?
Have you put custom firmware on your device? If so which?
When you say your phone is buggy, that is very vague. What exactly are the issues your experiencing? Is it rebooting, or is it not making to the boot animation and starting at all? Or is this more of a lag issue, feels sluggish and certain applications force close or cause the phone to restart. Have you had issues with the device prior to flashing, if you have flashed a custom firmware already?
With a little more information I'm sure there are a lot of people on the forums that are able to help, but without a little bit of detail as to whats going on the best anyone can say is the standard tech support response: Did you turn the device off and back on again. And I assume that is not the answer you are looking for.

Yes, I unlocked bootloader
yes I have is Nameless Rom v7.3
yes I have a hard core at 800MHz
I mean such as logs: twitching, brakes, very long time thinking ...
it happened a month ago, I thought, and did not bother about it, and now I do not like it.
HELP ME PLEASE
You tried flashing ruu? I also had this problem I solved it with ruu but for ruu to work I had to relock the boot loader! You just have to connect your phone in bootloader mode open adb and type fastboot oem lock. Then just install latest ruu!

Honestly, my device won't run the 806 Kernel, and has lots of trouble running the 767 Kernel, it seems some Desire C devices were made to a higher quality than others, looks like I got a Friday Phone!
Did you have it running successfully on the 806 Kernel previously?
On my device the 722 runs smoother than the 600, so I would try flashing that or the 600 stock Kernel and see if that resolves the issues.

[Q] Remove CWM for TWRP issues

Hi friends
I am currently running my HTC ONE with a Venom Rom and been told I need TWRP to update to v4.1
Cannnot get TWRP to go over CWM :/
I have removed ROM Manager but still boots into CWM
I have installed GooManager and it asks if I want to install the open recovery script, does the 10 second count down, and then goes back to main screen, does not do anything else - I have removed it and reinstalled, still same issue
If I use Goo to boot in to Recovery it just freezes on the YES/NO screen and then says script is taking too long wait or cancel :/ Left it for ages to no avail
When I looked in ROM Manager it did state Twrp was the recovery but stil booted in to CWM - now I have removed ROM Manager as I read on here that might be the issue :/
I have also just checked for CWM APP, and that is NOT installed
Can anyone help or am I going to have to flash a STOCK ROM then go back to Venom?
Cheers guys
So basically, you want to install TWRP recovery replacing your current CWM recovery right? but can't make it happen since everytime you do, you ended up still having CWM?
Try flashing this file using CWM.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/716uhr84madvvjl/TWRP_2.6.3.4_m7.zip
Just flash the recovery through fastboot

@skpManiac (OP), stop using toolkits, goos, youtubes, etc. if you want to flash low-level stuff, then do it the "hard way"
1- download the file
2- VERIFY MD5
3- (ironically) use 3 (as in three) command lines:
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader

Older/Previous Releases
Please note that the file above does not include Google apps, such as Gmail, YouTube, or the Google Play Store. You will have to install those manually, just make sure they are compatible with Android 5.1.
Sweet! How do I install it?
Well, that depends on one thing. Are you S-OFF or S-ON?
If you don't know what this means, then you're S-ON.
If you're S-ON
1. Download the ROM zip to your computer.
2. Extract the "boot.img" from the zip file.
3. Put the zip file on your device and flash it in TWRP.
4. Reboot the device to fastboot mode and, on your computer, flash the boot image you extracted to your device by issuing the command "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
5. Reboot normally
If you're S-OFF
1. Place the zip on your device and flash in TWRP
2. Reboot normally

Appreciate your work man. you're a 16 yr. old badass in my book.
Prepare yourself though for lots of headaches from the many many users who just wont take the time to read your instructions. Never seen anything like it during my time here on XDA.
What you have done so far is remarkable (you too Mr. Mike) I can wait for stabilization if it comes, if not no biggie. You'll never hear a complaint from me bro.
You need anything, just ask. I'm available to those who are serious like yourself (you too Mr. Mike )
Anyways, thanks buddy. For everything.

Love the progress. This rom is awesome. I have two HTC Desire 510's. After reading the "Not Working Section" I realized that data doesn't work on virgin mobile just yet. So, I will re-install this rom on my non activated one and follow your progress until calls, messaging and camera works. Then, I will install it on my activated one. But, thumbs up my friend. You beat MIUI to the punch in getting a modern rom started for this device. They still work on dinosaur HTC device roms. LOL!!
when will this be stable this rom looks awesome keep up the good work

I must have done something wrong when installing. LOL!! I'm not an expert at flashing. So I don't doubt that I did something wrong. Ok, i'm gonna go back and retrace my steps on the flash and make sure I didn't miss any steps. Wait, I think I did. Is the boot image that needs to be extracted from the zip for those of us who are still s-on does that mean it needs to be completely out of the zip and then flashed in fastboot? If so, that is were I messed up at. And when whipping, do we factory whip or advance whip? Just wanna make sure. If I can at least get calls and text working, I'll be fine.

You can leave the zip as it is, you just have to make sure that you flash the boot image in fastboot. When I wipe, I usually pick "Advanced Wioe" and wipe system, data, cache, dalvik-cache and sometimes even internal storage.
will this work with boost mobile ?? i 1.
5. Reboot normally that all went great ! but cant - Call , Text ,

Hey, you are doing fine. No complaints here. I know from experience that it takes time to get these roms fully running. Plus, I'd rather you be in good spirit while working on this masterpiece. :fingers-crossed::victory:

Need to reinstall phone

hey guys, Just trying to get my bearings on where to start. A friend game me a HTC Desire 510 that was not loading for him. Just sticking on the HTC loading screen.
He managed to "unlock" it. Not sure if it has root access.
In anycase it will not loal anymore, stuck on HTC load screen. I followed a few threads and tried to reset/restore things but now it looks like i need to just reinstall the OS.
Where I am lost is where/can i get the stock OS for this phone?
If not , do i need to get root access, load in a bootloader and then load in a custom ROM?
last time I did all this before was 2 years ago on a Samsung so I am a little rusty on the steps.
details
HTC Desire 510 - europe (Irish)
HBOOT - 3.19.0.0000
Radio 01.02.012
When I load up the bootloader I have "Sofrware status: Officaial *** at the tope and UNLOCKED under that.
Cheers
check the htc website for the latest rom(update) also this thread is sprint/virgin/boost
http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-510/development/virgin-sprint-htc-desire-510-stock-t2961521
cricket stock rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-510/help/stock-rom-cricket-htc-desire-510-t3161697
id see if the htc site works first but thats just me.
hope i was of help to you with your issues if not wait for more experanced members to assist.

Are you in Europe? If you are that's most likely a 64 bit phone and you'll need Philz Touch Recovery unless you have one installed. You'll also need to find a 64 bit stock HTC desire 510 rom.. It should work after installing them.
Edit: The HTC websites rom updater will not work since the phones boot is unlocked.. Just try what I said above.
Yes I am in Europe.
Will give what suggested a go and let you know..
cheers

Ok guys , getting around to trying this now but running into some small problems.
Question 1
I have installed adb.exe and it does work with my main phone (HTC m8) but when i plug in the broken phone it does not pick up that phone (when i do a ">adb.exe devices") I saw some comments saying that I need to enable debug mode but how can I do that when i cannot even load the phone up ?
Question 2
I would like to install this Philz Touch Recovery , so i can installed the new RUU but I see on some sites that I need to install ClockworkMod first. Now I am not sure if this is needed or not but i still have the problem of being unable to install it from the bootloader screen. There is no option to install from zip? So this might sound like a real n00b question but how can install anything to my phone when all i have it the bootloader screen. My options when i boot up are . . .
Fastboot
-->HBOOT
-->RAMDUMP
-->REBOOT
-->REBOOT fastboot
-->power down
recovery
factory reset
simlock
check smartSD
image CRC show barcode.
Review. . .
I would think my issue is with the broken phones connecting to my laptop and the use of adb.exe. If I could get that working i can use adb.exe to installl clockworkmod and from that I can boot up the phone and install Philz Touch Recovery, and then using phils installer I can install the original 64bit Rom and be in business?
does that seem right?
Cheers

Well now that you say that. I am having a strange issue. The phone will boot but only when I select "recovery" mode from the bootloader?
I presume what I have done is flashed the wrong image to the wrong section. I think i need to to flash something to boot and not to recovery when I was running the "fastboot flash recovery image.img!"
ideas?

I don't get what you're trying to do. If you wanna get back up and running, all you have to do is relock the bootloader and run the RUU... That's it. Your recovery doesn't matter. You don't need a custom recovery for that. Any custom recovery you have will be replaced by the stock one when you run the RUU.
I haven't been on this forum much lately, (so please correct me if I'm wrong, somebody) but from what I remember, the only custom recovery available for the 64-bit variant 510 is Philz. If that's the case then you shouldn't be flashing CWM

Yes you seem to be correct . I locked the bootloader and then used the command "fastboot flash boot <htc_orginal_ruu>" and it started working again.
I had lots of issues trying to get the CWM installed . It was someone else on this thread that suggested that but I think that info was wrong.
And just to conform for others that may read this someday you do not need Phils recover if you want to get the original system running. if you want to install custom ROMs then you need it then.
Thanks for the input. Half the time its just good to write out your problem so you can understand.

I did say you needed philz touch recovery if you have a 64 bit phone and you never really answered the 64 bit question and I asked because you said you are in Europe (Irish) and if you do have a 64 bit phone then you do need philz if you want to use other roms like the rest (most) of us on here do.

I kinda figured all that out on my own already but why do you just want stock? Why don't you want a rooted phone so you can do a lot more with it?

I've read through this entire thread more than 3 times and I never once seen anyone in this thread tell you to run CWM(ClockWorkMod).. or to even use that so where did get that idea from... The only thing I suggested was Philz Touch Recovery as did @Surj138 for a good reason cause it's the only one that's 64 bit for your phone!

It was from other threads that I read to install Phils recovery I would need install CWM but I think now that is for other phones. I said it was in this thread by mistake.
As for going for the original ROM as opposed to a custom ROM my reasoning is three fold. . . .
1. This phone will not be staying with me. Will be giving it back to my friend who is giving it to his daughter. She is would have no use for a root phone.
2. The last time I was using custom ROM was with my Samsung S2 about 3 years ago. I did like all the extra features, free apps and full customization that you can do with it but I did find that no matter what custom ROM I found there would be little problems with each one. Performance would slowly drop the more i switched around the custom ROMS.
3. Custom ROMs are great and all but we cannot be 100% sure there is not hidden male-ware in some of them that is robbing my data. It was going to be a spare phone for playing games then i would not mind but to give to someone as there main phone is not the best option.

Only thing you can do is download the ruu and try to restore to stock
But I tried that, the ruu didn't detect my phone .
Try flashing this in recovery https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8zKSD2j-kHdVVI2WkNSNjRabTg/view?usp=docslist_api

Download and flash twrp recovery first. It allows u to mount USB storage from there
My phone doesn't support twrp
Cwm doesn't allow u to switch to external memory? Sorry haven't used cwm recovery in years. Not too sure about the features

clockworkmod recovery.
cwm was the main recovery for android devices up til a couple yrs ago when twrp also got into the recovery game.. you'll notice some devs base their install instructions off a certain recovery.. that way they know the full string of possible culprits when they have to diagnose an error or problem.

people really need to use their eyes and look at things a little bit more and quit being so lazy.. the whole 626 forum isnt that big. you can scroll a few pages to find what you need. we have 1 post with more then 30 pages. most are less then 7. don't quote this as a group mentality. it's possible I just suffer from the ability in how to deal with lazy/impatient people..
this phone sucks you know why..
its cheap, so we bought it." maybe.. just maybe well get a cool ROM.."
it's not a flagship device, so the dev side is going to be extremely nill
now we own the phone and dev is still nill, minor progress if anything..
I'm OK with waiting. it's the people that can't wait that are irritating...
read the boards.. it's not a huge sprawling community you can t find the answear.
