Preordering? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So are we going to be able to purchase the phone directly from Google not the play store? All I have seen so far is carrier listings and I would rather buy it direct.
Thanks
Kevin

The Nexus 6 will be available directly through Google and Motorola.

Hi, i heard that preorders are at the end of November, or 12th of November
Not sure yet. But i think we can order only Nexus 9 for now...

I always wondered. Do you guys make less euros than we do in equivalent US dollars? Why should everything be cheaper?

Why should it be less than 650 euros was my question. I understand the euro is worth more. But I'm wondering if the pay scale is on par with us jobs that are equivalent?

650 euros is significantly more than 650USD, ~530 is more of a fair asking price. I'll feel bad if someone pays 650 euros for a phone.

Price is not my concern but Taiwan is not in the 28-country lists.

Quick comparison, €650 is (according to Google just now) $820

I know, I was just highlighting the price difference between $ and € in that a US model at €650 would cost €507 (as of this morning)

Do you have any info, that the price will be just a conversion, and not an 650 euros actually?

None at all, I was just showing the difference in exchange rates if you were going to do a direct comparison or see what it would cost, in US dollars, to buy an EU handset

Not a lot in it i know but i use these guys and they are good . Not saying play aren't just I would recomend them as never had a problem
Not same date - handtec 19th, play 9th. If that's true it's worth the £1
R
I ordered it at http://www.smartphonestunts.nl. They claim to have it on the 6th of june for €515.- which is oprox £408.75.
That's a little cheaper, but that could be a tax difference ;-)
Do these companies actually know things, or are they just making up the date and price? I'd like to think that they know something, but the vast range of dates and prices out there are making me think otherwise...
anyone know the release date for T-Mobile in the UK? some places saying june others july...

Can get that much cheaper, € 476,76 at http://pdas.centralpoint.nl

Yep looking at the Price difference you know why we call it rip off UK . Dont even get me started with petrol prices lol
I don't know if you are aware but petrol prices in France are almost the same/if not more than the UK. Most places are currently selling petrol for €1.55 a litre, and with the poor exchange rate, this comes to a startling £1.23 a litre which is more than most UK garages.
I'm not disagreeing with you regarding rip off britain, just making sure you know the facts!

Disappointed with pricing outside google play

You may or may not have heard about this but if you live in a country where purchasing devices from google play isn't available(which is like 98% of the countries),you will have to pay a whopping 549 euros for the 16gb nexus 4(that's the pricing in Austria, dunno about the rest of the world but it will most likely be the same).I will actually have to pay more than double the original price of a phone that got 16gb non expandable storage. And if I bought it online,I will have to sacrifice local warranty. It just looks like google is doing their best to force me not to get their nexus devices. There's just a big hype about how cheap the nexus 4 is with cutting-edge hardware ignoring the fact that only people living in certain countries can get it for that price. Why can't google be fair ? Guess I might end up getting Gnote 2,at least it got a micro SD slot.
Wow. This sucks. Nice find! For that price, I'd definitely go for a Note II!
(My cousin is in the states so he'll order it for me and send it here to India through my uncle's shipping company - Win win for me!)

i am personally ready to be robbed by those retail stores. it sucks but then the price tag wasn't the deciding factor.
Maybe see if someone from another country can buy it from the play store and have them mail it to you? Providing the shipping cost is realistic?
I'll get one from Germany too.
If anyone wants to order for me send me a PM.
I am screwed, since I live in the Netherlands. No Playstore here. Hopefully the online shops will sell against Playstore prices, or less Sucks I can't order from European Playstores btw, so much for European 'shop integration'.
Yep, I can't but devices from the play store here either.... :/ just hope its at a reasonable price or else I'll have to ask someone to buy for me... its not there on expansys yet either

I think we should wait official pricing for other countries. However, if in Italy the prices will be so high, I'll buy it online from another European country.

Well, it's worth a trip to Germany.
But I have doubts this will really happen. That would be pretty stupid of Google. Look at the price if the nexus tablet. That's also pretty cheap for what it has to offer.

I completely agree, I live in Chile and the carriers here are just thieves, the galaxy nexus retails here for around 750 USD contract free.
Gladly my brother is going to USA on december and he might get one N4 for me there at a normal price.
Does anyone knows if you can buy a nexus product online? Becouse whenever I try to go to the website says its restricted to my country, I dont know if its possible to shop online outside the US. I wouldnt care not having warranty if I pay 300 box.

I think that Google is selling the product below the MSRP because they expect people to post some of those saved euros into producst on the store.
It's 549€ here as well, and also in Sweden as far as i know.
Thank goodness my girlfriend lives in Germany.
It would be awesome if some XDA peeps located in Europe and have access to Playstores could help out their fellow European members
here in Israel i will be thank's full if it will Retail for 600$.
I'm sure it'll come in time. Do you have the N7 yet?

Nope, not yet but well LG said that the nexus 4 will be available in the middle east end of november so I assume Egypt is included.Nexus devices do take a long time to be available here. The galaxy nexus for example took freakin 6 months and it was exclusive to vodafone.Asus Egypt said that the nexus 7 should be available in mid october but so far nothing...

What????
No matter where you buy the Nexus 5... you will be paying sales tax, unless you purchase it from a company that has no physical location in that state. Technically if you do buy something that doesn't charge you tax you're supposed to report that in your taxes at the end of the year.
K.... being a non us resident & planning to buy from US just wanted to know is there a way to buy @ quoted price!!!!

If you're a non-US resident you'll still need to pay import duty and any other relevant taxes for your country when you receive the item.

Depends on the country.
Here's a calculator:
http://www.dutycalculator.com/new-import-duty-and-tax-calculation/
If you're in the UK you don't pay customs duty on imported mobile phones but you need to pay VAT at 20%, so it works out that a $349 phone is $418, or £260, which is actually more than you'd pay for the phone in the UK.

Hi,
Quick question.
When this phone announced, they said it will cost 420 usd, however when I search for it in all the big shopping sites, I can't find it in less then 506 usd, am I missing something?
Thanks.

The supply is less and the demand is more so the shopping sites are cashing this scenario. They're charging extra $100

Anyone in Canada bought it? How was your experience?

I understand it comes as import from the US, site is the same as for US buyers and price is quoted in USD.
Anything bad to report with customs, any extras fees or hassles?
Thanks in advance

So when it says free shipping it does not include duty?
Also, extra 13% regular taxes on top?
Ended up for what total for you? (I imagine it will depend on the USD)

807 plus the 120 to DHL for taxes and duty. But it now depends on the dollar. Can't remember the rate at that time. Was only about a month ago
It costs $27 dollars to ship a small flat rate box to Canada from the US.

That's why a lot of people have things sent to PO boxes just across the border when ordering laptops or phones overseas in Canada.
Also, a little over $800 is close to the right conversion rate on the camo RM3.

You rent a space at a post office in the US, and any packages that you don't want to pay duties or taxes on, you have them shipped there.
It does become an issue if they catch you doing it, but it's difficult for them to prove.
