i found a possible way to unlock sprint g2 and g flex - LG G Flex

Im going to try this on my flex then g3 vigor...let everyone know how it goes but heres the link
http://gadgetsacademy.com/sim-unlock-sprint-lg-g-flex-ls995-and-sprint-lg-g2-ls980/

Cool report back. By the way this goes in general not development. Oh ya you may want to change title to sim unlock not just unlock.

@CuhThooLoo
you just have to root your device (it is best if you downgrade to JB but not necesarry if you're already using KK)
download the zip for the G2 - Flex unlock and follow the steps.
I'm using mine with Claro and its all working normally.
I would recommend using This method its easy and quick.

Does it worked on the G3 Vigor?

[Q] UK moto x rooting

hi,
I can't post in the developer sections, so a question here:
Has anyone rooted their UK moto X yet? Comes with 4.4.2
the motorola chat said they expect we'll be able to unlock the bootloader but I'm not holding my breath.
But rooting? Yes please!

as of right now there is no root for 4.4.2 so you have to wait and see if someone finds a way to get root
or wait and see if you can unlock your bootloader.

Moto X OS Updater

Hello everyone,
I am posting here today on the topic of the Moto X OS Updater. I have the VZW Moto X Dev Ed running Rooted Kit Kat 4.4. I do not want the new update and it is asking me everyday if I would like to install. As I am not interested in doing so I would like to remove this. Is there a way to shut down the updater or maybe even remove the apk? If so what is it called or how do I do so?
Thanks in advance!

The main reason people want to get back to 4.2.2 is to root. with the DE you can root with any version because of the unlocked bootloader.

From what others are posting using the unofficial fxz, you can run the 4.4 system with the 4.4.2 bootloader and I would presume the 4.2.2 system, too although I don't see where anyone has specifically tried that. However, if you do run a lower version of the system than the bootloader and accidentally take the 4.4.2 OTA again, you will brick. So you would need to freeze the OTA app to avoid that.

Can't root VS9803AA Update

Has anyone been able to root the phone after the Verizon VS9803AA update? I have a G2 that was never rooted. The digitizer failed so I replaced it with an OEM LCD+Digitizer and suddenly the phone can only be used when there is bright light. I went ahead and replaced the light sensor, but it doesn't make a difference. I used an application to check the light sensor and it performs just as my G3. My thought is that the problem is software based.
If I manually reboot into recovery, I get the icon of the android with a red exclamation point. Plugging in the USB and holding the volume up does not bring me to download mode, it just displays the battery charge. Did Verizon successfully block the ability to root?
I'm having the same problem with not being able to root I've used IORoot which isn't compatible with lollipop, avicoh one click and . bat which get up to rebooting the phone but ends in an error reading "The system was unable to find the specified registry key or value."
so i read about Injecting root in to system image and then pushing image back to phone. But i haven't seen specifics for the LG G2 have you had any success in rooting the phone with the new VS9803AA Update
The phone as the VS9803AA update and I think it is the cause of the proximity sensor problem. I've read some other posts from people that had rooted and took the update. A different situation, but they have a similar problem. In one of those threads I had read about the bootloader version having changed. It is almost as if Verizon killed the ability to do a recovery on the phone. Nice huh?

Nice wouldnt be the adjective but if the bootloader is different is it possible to extract it and build a root with the new bootloader.
I am new to this however i'm a quick study and have rooted devices in the past ( manually ) I'm just not a developer so there has to be some one working on this right?
In the meantime is it possible to flash an older firmware I'm scared to try with out knowing for certain.
I too am trying to root the VS9803AA with IOroot and it says there is not yet an unlock for this version. I am very frustrated.
EDIT: I did discover how to root! I used the tool found here.
Now if I can figure out something to replace FreeGee, which does not work with AA...

I'm sure it was stock, because this is the first time I've ever tried to root and I did check the software version (VS9803AA) and it said, "Official." Now it says, "Modified."
My original goal in doing all of this was to open up the T-Mobile bands so I can have LTE again. Just left Verizon. But the youtube tutorial I was watching asks me to use FreeGee and it just is not compatible with 3AA as far as I can tell.
To root: webtrickz.com/how-to-root-lg-g2-running-lollipop-with-lg-one-click-root/
To flash TWRP: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=b007.autorecvs980
I haven't tried AutoRec yet, but a review says it works for the 3AA.
Hope this helps, let me know!

Hay there,
Use kingroot the easiest way to root lg g2 without any trouble, try it and let me know thanks
I'm in the same boat - got this Verizon LG G2 from my sister fixed the LCD screen because the digitizer had dead spots. Can't root tried every method I could find and Verizon appears to have patched any working exploits. Also have the same oversensitive proximity sensor. Great job Verizon!!!
UPDATE:
I have root finally! Flash the prior software version 39a as I was not able to get anywhere with 39aa. Used Kingroot to obtain root and installed recovery!!! I installed Xposed and adjusted the values for the proximity and light sensors so that is no longer an issue also.

Im not saying its bad to flash i personally recommend it to you but in stable form ,as it has bugs and in development stage n one more thing if you are camera lover then cynogenmod cam sucks your expectations , stock cam is far way better than this . if you really interested to flash something then go for xdabbes rom which is stock based , search the forum and you will get that,
Good luck

It could be something else causing the bug, which you might be able to disable before setup proceeds.
Try turning off everything else you don't need. Personally I had problems with the following when I was installing MellowMallow - to my knowledge everyone who didn't do this is now running a broken version of mallowmushroom because they accepted the auto-update LG utilities which breaks the ability to check the status of your apps under settings:
"Note: after installation, the phone will try to auto-update its own LG setup and other apps. But the updated LG Setup won't work properly. So turn off the auto update under settings --> about phone --> update center --> turn off the settings for auto update (frequency none)."
Maybe there is a similar service or setting you can disable after doing a factory reset, that will help avoid that bug you mention?

Thanks for your reply ... I dont know if its the same process but I already disabled some apps using guides to get into setup menus, but the most important app (Setup Wizard) cant be disabled cause im on MM 6.0 ZVD stock rom and all recent security patches blocked all the possibilities to skip that screen.

My method should just work fine with a ls991. Issues currently happen for other variants but afaik it would just work for you. After this you can root MM, install custom ROMs (if there were any for your variant), TWRP, ...
No guarantees for anything - as usual
If you wanna test come to IRC on Monday to Friday and i can guide you through.

can you help me with rooting my moto g6 play cause i didint understand one guide and i ended up ruining my last moto g6 play and i dont want that to happen again
thats the new guide that i made. its cleaned up, a few less steps dont need the patched boot.img anymore as long as you use the latest magisk beta. and its simpler AS LONG AS YOU ACTUALLY READ IT ALL i also provided proper instructions to reflash stock firmware along with links to firmware including the update as long as you follow it you should have no issues this time. i can def say the old guide got confusing quick for people but i didnt make that one lol

is there any possible way of saving my old moto g6 play and make it work again?
if you had it bootloader unlocked and you are able to at least boot up to the bootloader screen you should be able to save the old one using my guide with stock firmware

I do believe you need to use the firmware in the folder that says retail.

The top is the firmware that came with the phone. The bottom is an update. Do the bottom one.
