How to remove brightness slider from notification panel - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

half the notification panel is unusable. unless im missing something there appears to be no way to remove the brightness slider. i know it was a setting on my note3. also cant find a way to remove the stupid s-finder and quick connect buttons. please tell me im missing a setting somewhere for these. they are a giant waste of space.

That's correct. There is no way to remove it unless you do some modding. Stupid move they took out that option. What were the DA's thinking!?

It's not a solution, but when using Lux Brightness to control auto-brightness, it has a module show up in the notifications pull-down. It did remove the stock slider, though I haven't gained any space.
However I do prefer Lux when it comes to brightness control (set to Dynamic) and their module at least is more informative than the stock one.
I'm also not sure if the phone can go into the overbright mode any longer but I've never had outdoor visibility issues.

I was actually able to get rid of it without modding by installing Lux Auto Brightness & using it to manage my brightness. Once I set it up the Samsung one in the notification panel disappeared. Also, with Lux, you can have it set to not show in the notification panel, which is what I've done.

If you root and install xposed framework, you can disable the S planner portion, but no luck with brightness yet.

Which module or option under xposed framework did you use to get rid of the s finder and quick connect?
Thanks

Download wanam xposed from play store. Then it's in notifications.

Here is the option. Among many.

For some reason i dont see that option for my wanam xposed
....
Sorry figured it out. I installed wanam from xposed itself. Need to go to the playstore and upgrade the program from there.

He's right. Installing LUX does remove the stock brightness bar but the thing is, the LUX bar isn't all that pretty either...

In the Lux settings you can disable their bar once it's there.

[IDEA] Status Bar Brightness changer

I had seen a friends Samsung Vibrant and he showed me how you can actually raise and lower the brightness settings of the phone by holding your finger on the status bar for a second and then swiping either left or right on it to adjust the brightness levels.
Just a cool feature if anybody is interested in investigating it.
Thanks,

I've seen this in action and it's pretty cool. Wonder if it's hiding in an .apk somewhere....
As far as I know, its in the framework Part and @kmobs tried it but needs help with the linear layout ...
Any application?
Is there any application with this feature? To change screen brightness INTO the status bar.
Any one can create such application?

You could
There are ROMs with brightness controls in the notifications.. Open Notification bar, tap the icon.. Has various options from Auto/30/100 all the way up to like 5 or so options. I tend to leave mine on Auto except when I'm using the phone as a car GPS in which case I need it brighter, and I let Tasker do that for me.

There shouldn't be any yuto brightness in Stock cm, cause the sensor isn't used by the stock sensors libs that are used. If its there its a bug and should be reported.
CM has that bug. If you want to control brightness from status bar, use brightness control from from status bar option, it'll be somewhere in the settings it works perfectly

Lollipop notifications - disable auto expand

Hello!
I am wondering if there is an xposed module (or a setting) to disable auto expanded notifications on Android 5.0 Lollipop. I am only reading about auto expanding all notification and thinks like this.
But i want to disable auto expanded notifications. The reason is mainly PowerAmp app which has a notification to control music playback. The thing is that my phone screen is pretty small (Samsung Galaxy s3 mini with CM12) and PowerAmp notification is always expanded.
So, is it possible to disable auto expanding notifications on Android Lollipop? I have already tried "App Settings" xposed module, but an option "Disable big notifications" does not seem to work.
Thank you!
You could try GravityBox, or NotificationManager. I have no idea if any of them supports modifying behaviour you want to change though.
If I were you, I'd lower the dpi in build.prop, as I find Music controls to be quite handy
I have to admit that my request is quiet unusual.
GravityBox and NotificationManager do not have those functions.
Could you point me to some direction to learn something more about that build.prop? I have never modified that file before...
Me too

Old thread, but I am looking to stop any notification from expanding in Lollipop/Marshmallow. The reason is I might accidentally swipe on a notification while I am just swiping to get to the settings panel, and there is no way to collapse the notification again.I hate it, one of the reason I am still on KitKat
Did you guys ever find a way to do this? Expanded notifications are annoying and take up a lot of space. And save a whole ONE tap.

Some question on OnePlus 3T and OOS 4.0 (coming from OnePlus One (COS or CM14.1)

1. Is there no way hide notification on lock screen for apps that's always in the notification bar (like Tasker or Call Recorder?)
2. I can't find anyway to turn of the screen by double tap the notification bar (like in COS or CM).

1. I'm using the payed version of call-recorder, and I can disable the notificationbar icon and notification.
2. Sadly this feature (or better gesture) is not availible in oos.

Call recorder is a widely used name for apps that record calls. I use the one from Skvalex, also payed version.
What I mean is that normally apps that shall stay active all the time needs to be in notification bar, but I rather don't see it when I only turn on the display with the lock screen.
In CM and COS I could deal with this with options like "never show for apps always in notification bar".

Hmm, I'm on 4.0 and havn't used call-recorder in the short time I was on 3.5.4, next time I'm restoring 3.5.4, I'll check and report back.
Stupid me! It was because I had no PIN set on the phone, I had no specific options for the lock screen.

Move clock/time to right side?.

Any way to move the clock/time to right side? Insert rant about android 9.
The usual samsung methods don't work. The SystemUI tuner app does not work either. TouchWiz is missing from the Beta+Rooted+adb permissions given version of the app. The custom entry keys (middle/right_clock_position) do nothing both on or off.
Also for the phone dialer, is there any way to change to one click to accept instead of the slide method?
ROG/ZenUI is really lacking in customization.

Don't think there is currently a way to move the clock. It bothered me too when I first got the phone, but now after a little over a week of use it's perfectly fine, I'm use to it. Not sure about the dialer tap to answer instead of slide, as I prefer slide to answer because it's less likely you'll accidentally answer an unwanted call.

Thanks, though now there's no way to show the 120HZ but not the auto-rotate indicator. Depending on if you have free or pro, it'll either show both or neither.
I guess nothing can work properly. It's about to be expected since it was never updated for android 9.
Thanks though.
EDIT: it's even more of a buggy mess, the temporary notifications don't disappear ever (message received, downloading item, etc .
Hrmm? Yes they do.
I've attached screenshots
It does not for me. The icons are stuck there after the notification ends. Are you using EdXposed and Flat status bar indicators v5.1.3?
I also have system tuner UI installed which may interfere with it.
EDIT: It turns out SandHook is more stable than YAHFA in this case.
