How to remove Xperia bloatware? - Sony Xperia ZR

I don't like the bloatware.
With adb-shell I could block What"s new" app at the home button.
No succes to remove things in another way. Tried RootAppDelete, ES fileexplorer etc...
So, how to deal with apps like WhatsNew, News from Social Life, SonySelect?
Of course I have Root-access

Use root explorer. Go to /root/system/app n priv-app folders to delete the particular apks
OR
Use titanium backup pro to uninstall whatever u want. But be careful what you delete. :good:
ES file explorer is just file manager. It does not have much functionality like Root explorer

Thanks!!!
But I found an easier way. Need to uninstall twice. First the updates. After that I could delete the whole app

[Q] how to Replace .apk from system with our selection

I found nice memo, dialler, calendar at Android Market.
Under system/app, there is memo, dialler, calendar but cannot remove it. How can I remove and replace with my selection? Tq
no need to remove them just install new one normally and if you want to remove you need to have root
If u'RE already rooted..then install root explorer..navigate to system apps...delete apk...copy the napkins u want..fix permissions and u're done

Tq very much for all suggestion. I've root my Mini, using emanoN v5. I install my selected apps as usual but it not replace with existing apk such as dialler. Which mean, original dialler still at same places. No change with my selection apk
i use titanium backup to remove all unwanted system apps seems to work well

I had try exactly as your advice to install dialler but it install as a second dialler. Is there anything i would missed up something? I tried rename same as original dialler but when install, on portion where we can cancel or install, it still show its original name. I realized all .apk in system/apps have it twin file (.odex) which I believe to differentiate the system apk and normal apk. Does need do something on this?

[Q] Is it ok to remove system apps in custom rom?

I'm using CriskeloRomNOTE.vICS-V7 now.
this rom is really good to me but some unusable apps exist.
and also it has some duplicated apps like camera & camera ics.
I just want to remove those unusable apps.
I think it would be possible to delete apk files on CriskeloRomNOTE.vICS-V7.zip before flashing.
Then rezip the file and flash. Will it work?
I need your help T.T Thx!!
you should flash it first then remove anything you don't want in system/app with root explorer.
you can see guidance for applications that safe to remove here:

uhm.. thx for your advice, but I can't remove apps by using root explorer or root app remover.
In case of root explorer, it should be required to remove apps that getting permission to change mount r/w to r/o.
But i can't change r/w to r/o at system-app folder.
In other words, I can't remove apps by using the removing applications...
Is there any other way to do?
or please give me some methods to make those removing apps can be worked on my phone..
Thank you.
You should be able to change it in totalcmd (the setting is difficult to find, but it works).
Or, try Root App Delete from the market, maybe it'll work for you.

Install TenderloinParts.apk on OaT's 07/29 Rom

I browse to where I downloaded the file from ES Explorer and click on the app, but I get that install failed? Any help? I like to use a stylus frequently, and with this latest ROM it is missing the input very frequently. I read that this app installed a setting or a switcher app to select between touch and stylus/

Likely you got install failed because it's a system app. That's my guess. Try this instead. If you have a way of using titanium back up on a device where tenderloinparts works, use Ti to back up the app. Take the back up files from that device and move it to your Oats one. From there, drop it into your Ti backup folder. Then have Ti restore the tenderloinparts.
System APK
Well, I didn't exactly follow your advice, but once you pointed out that it was likely a System App, I installed with Root Explorer by copying to \system\app and setting rights to -rw-r-r then reboot and now it works!

How to remove unwanted apps from HTC One?

I'd like to completely remove unwanted apps such as dropbox, 7digital, and wechat from HTC One. How can I do it?
When I did it, it only uninstalled the updates but no the app.
Thank you.

If you're rooted, etc. you can uninstall them with a file explorer such as ES File Manager. You can also use ROM Cleaner here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2247656&highlight=rom+cleaner
If you're not rooted, I don't think you can remove them.

On a non-rooted phone, if you're lucky, you can only hide the apps from the appdrawer.
In order to completely remove unwanted apps, you will need rood access.
The easiest way to uninstall an app completely would be to use Titanium Backup. Simply removing the apk from /system/app will also result in a remove, however the data part might still be on the phone.
You need to gain root access to your phone first. Then use a file explorer, or Titanium Backup to remove any unwanted programs.
If this is your first time rooting a device, try THIS application. I usually don't recommend toolboxes, or programs that gain root for you, but I had incredible success with this one just testing it.
Just be warned, that no one here can give any guarantee that the process will work without any problems.
If you're flashing custom ROMs then the best way, IMO, is to delete anything you don't use, straight from the ROM ... That way when you install the ROM you will be free of the garbage without having to do anything else ... Like mentioned previously though you will require root access to delete system apps.

You can find better sources and add them to adaway to download them. For me it's simpler and faster, that's the only reason I mentioned this app.
