[Bricked][Asus Zenfone/Zenforce 4] Boot loop on Asus logo - Asus Zenfone 4

Hey,
Since multiple flashing operation (fastboot), the phone was turned into 'brick' and seems now looping on Asus logo at start..
After pressing power button + vol up the phone is well entering into droidboot but with this log message : 'E:Unable to open debricking'.
The phone stills open with USB cable (fastboot/adb) but I've already experienced some 'signature mismatching' during flash?
Any idea to recover ?
Thanks!
Product : TW_ZENFON (not WW)
Droidboot ver : 4.3.10.0

After flashing the device with fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img the output log are now : E:flash_fastboot_kernel : check_sign_key fail no allow to update kernel
Well, it seems that a specific firmware is needed and droidboot is checking for a key signature? If no match, it cannot allow an overwritting or something.

hi
Please forgive me English is not very good. You determine your own model, the Asus machine has some need to correct the file name, for example, k012, the file name is k012_sdupdate.zip. Then look at your card is correct brush pack

The device has been flashed once again with fastboot -> fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img
The fastboot.img file was included from the official firmware zip archive UL_ASUS_T00Q_TW_4_3_2.zip
The operation was done succesfully without any error... meanwhile the boot is now going to blank (Android robot is fading to blank) and loop continuously...
If I restart the phone, the boot stuck as well on the Asus logo... So no more droidboot menu available..
@Chinaxiao4 : do you mean to rename the firmware (ie : UL_ASUS_T00Q_TW_4_3_2.zip) with the device model number ? Afterwards do we need to play with adb/fastboot ?

hi
You try, some machines need to change the name ASUS, please forgive me English is very bad, can not help you get more information

..so far it might be a firmware like this UL_ASUS_T00I_TW_4_X_X.zip

To resume, the Asus Zenforce/Zenfone 4 (T00I) TW model has been bricked since some flashing operation with firmware.
- used firmware : UL_ASUS_T00Q_TW_4_3_2.zip
- command line : fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img
- result : No more boot menu... the droidboot is fading to blank, boot loop on model logo (bricked)
- Looking for (maybe) : UL_ASUS_T00I_TW_4_x_x.zip and droidboot with recovering mode
Linux to help by mounting the device and doing some repartionning job? Let's go further!!

When plug on USB the device is now unrecognized due of his previous flashing... (no matched Drivers)
Any help so far?

Boot Loop and no more driver to recognize the phone

As said from the vid, "better to replace the initial droidboot by another recovery mod before doing anything "

A bit darky but the idea seems ok, hoping for a next further release of Clockworkmod recovery

Meanwhile no idea to get outta my bootLoop locking screen...

Razr i Bricked /!\ HELP /!\

(Before, sorry for my bad english, I'm French..)
I've receive my Razr i xt890 yesterday and today I have unlock the bootloader.
I've make this tuto : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1928551
Everything happen very good, my bootloader is unlock but when my phone reboot it'll go to fastboot over and over again.
In fastboot, I can see :
"AP fastboot flash moide (secure boot)
20.00 (sha - oba4DF3)
IFWI info
eMMC info
battery (okay)
connect USB data Cable
ROM-key : motorola -key
Boot mode selection menu:
- normale powerup
- recovery
- factory
- BP tools
- switch console [default: null]
- power of "
And, it's written in yellow :
" fastboot reason : flash failure
fastboot : max download size: 100MB "
In addition, the vol down button work for scroll, but the vol up button doesn't work, so, I can't select boot mode selection..
Is there a solution please?
Maybe Rsdlite can be use to flash?
Help me please. :crying:
Since your Bootloader is unlocked, try the homemade Fastboots.
But only if you're sure that it is unlocked. I got no i, but these Fastboots saved already 2 Phones in Germany (I know of these 2 Phones, maybe there're more)
Thanks. Yes it's unlock because when I boot the phone, it's written "unlock" on the Motorola logo.
But what kind of fastboot can I take?
I guess it depends on what your RazR i was before. If it was EU, then grap EU, if GB then GB.
Actually you can Flash all of them, if I'm right. But I would recommend an Fastboot of your Region... Like I said, I got no i, so I can't test anything. I just own the regular RazR to Crackflash
It was on ICS EU.
Sorry but I don't know what is a "faastboot of my region"? ^^
Thanks

To fix Flash Failure on any phone, flash something that will work. If its a Battery Low fastboot issue and you cannot charge... you will need a factory-style cable or adapter or you can make one.
See my Home-made fastboot and pick any firmware. They will all work on an unlocked phone.
Thank u so much, It works succefully
I've just reinstal the fastboot and my phone will reborn !
Congrate u fix up. May i know the detail of commands of fastboot issue step by step after On phone on Fastboot mode? & what file size below 100MB u select.Thks.

After i unlock the bootloader, i could select. But i select the "normal powerup" option. And now, is stoped in the same screen "Booting into normal mode". And i cant reboot or power off PLEASE HELP MAN.
Edit: Yesterday i sleep and my razr stil in the fastboot screen locked. When i wake up today, its off and when i turn on again, the message of the batery says that the batery is low. How i can recharge that? Again, please mattlgroff help me.

Flash anything to fix it. Take the razr_i_boot.img and run it through cmd.
Code:
fastboot flash boot razr_i_boot.img
If it fails it will tell you an error. (Might be Battery Low). Since you can't charge in battery low you would need a special cable or a cable adapter to flash without battery.
Team Black Hat sells the factory-style adapters I highly recommend one.

How to charge it is said in the post you quoted: You need a factory-style usb cable.
With the help of that you can flash the homemade fastboot, and then you can charge the phone with your normal usb cable.

And after I tried to do it:
Flash anything to fix it. Take the razr_i_boot.img and run it through cmd.

If it uncharge I will can recharge the batery in the fastboot and flash the firmware in the fastboot?
Thanks
Have you put the fastboot files on your desktop?
Put your boot.img on your desktop with the 3 files of fastboot(adbwinapi.dll, adbwinusbapi.dll and eprj–mfastboot.exe).
Open a terminal, write:
"cd desktop"
and after:
"fastboot flash boot razr_i_boot.img"
And if it's don't work again try an other boot.img.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933308
( download the fastboot files retail en UE and take only the file "boot.img", it's works fine for me so maybe it will be the same for you)
If you try with " boot.img" file, in the cmd write only:
"fastboot flash boot boot.img"

Phone can't boot stuck at "Your device is booting now" Please Help

Hello, I wanted to install TWRP and ROOT my phone. I flashed TWRP using adb terminal. But when I tried to boot into TWRP it was stuck on "Your device is booting now..". Then if I held the power button for few secs it rebooted normally. So I tried to google it and I found adb command that reboots to recovery
Code:
adb reboot recovery
. When I executed the command it rebooted to the "Your device is booting now.." screen and it stays like this forever. No button combination works to reboot the phone if i hold power button it reboots shows honor logo and then shows the "Your device is booting now.." screen. I waited for the battery to drain and then i put the phone on charger and when I tried to boot it, it was the same. Now when I try to reboot the phone it shows ultra low baterry symbol and then boots to "Your device..." screen.

Which twrp you flashed? Check the correct twrp in my signature for honor 5C repository.

Hi hassanjavaid8181
I think I have the same issue here, phone is stuck on "your device..." screen forever and it's impossible to do anything else (reboot ends up on the same screen).
How is it possible to flash twrp or stock recovery if we are stuck on this screen ? Fastboot doesn't see the phone...

Did you try all method to going in fastboot.by adb fastboot command or by pressing vol- and power button?
Hi guys, thanks for your replies.
I somehow managed to boot to fastboot after waiting for the battery to go out completely. From there I used the following commands in ADB from the extract of a stock update.img :
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot reboot
And it worked ! The first boot was veeery long and now it's normal again.
Now my last concern is that I still have bootloader unlocked. As I wish to come back to factory state and avoid the warning message on boot, do you guys think it's safe to re-lock bootloader ?
I'm kind of scared to try anything else and screw the whole thing now
Thanks again for your support

Can you please explain to me how did you managed to boot into fastboot? I tried waiting for the battery to drain completely. Now I can't fully charge my phone. When i connect it with charger. It starts normally charging like it would with 0% battery then after a few moments the honor logo shows up and then the screen "Your device.." shows. When I try vol- and powerbutton it vibrates and shows the red lightbolt then after few moments it boots the same way into the your device screen. When I connect it to the pc it doesn't react. I don't even hear the classic windows beep sound.

Meaning the fastboot is accessible.
Now you have firmware zip, extract it amd you will get few files. Use dload method as given in my signature and you are good to go.
Else use Huawei extractor and browse to update.app you just got in above downloaded zip. You will get boot, recovery, system img you need.
I downloaded some firmware versions and extracted them. I don't know which is for my device. So I tried one of them. I flashed boot.img and recovery.img but I din't flashed the system.img, becouse it was too big. When I tried to reboot the phone it was the same. The fastboot was no longer accessible. Asus k013 stuck on boot.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge I am a complete beginner.
My wife left her working Asus k013 (do not know which model as I no longer have box) on charge over night, next day it would no longer get beyond the boot screen. We are stuck with the Asus Logo and the revolving boot start symbol.
I have tried the start/volume up and start/volume down options to do factory reset but just returns to the boot start. If I hold the buttons down for a long time it just shuts down. I them tried downloading 'clear data' to sd card but this presumably requires the tablet to boot before it works.
I have purchased a new tablet for her so I do not want to send the tablet for repair but would really like to get it working as spare and to experiment with rooting etc. to try an improve my knowledge.
If you boot with Power + Volume Down (stop pressing power once the backlight turns on, but keep pressing Volume Down) does it boot into the Droidboot screen (with NORMAL BOOT, RECOVERY MODE buttons)?

Not sure which release it is on. Received an OTA a while ago from the original when bought.
Upgrade was not recent so do not think that's it unless the OTA was done last weekend.

Download http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/ME176C/UL-K013-WW-12.10.1.36-user.zip.
Install ADB+Fastboot on your PC. There are various guides available online for this, so you should google or take a look at https://wiki.lineageos.org/adb_fastboot_guide.html
Boot into that mode again and connect the tablet to your PC (via USB). On a command prompt, verify that...
Code:
fastboot devices
... displays a device. Extract "droidboot.img" from the ZIP you've downloaded in the first step, then run:
Code:
fastboot boot droidboot.img
Does it now show the "NORMAL BOOT" etc screen?

Sorry so long to get back, I got help from a friend over the weekend but we did not succeed.
Had another go today and got to normal boot. Tried to go to recovery and got failed. Volume down offers 'power off' 'recovery' and restart bootloader.
I have attached a screen shot, the last line shows
E: No valid installer medium found.
I seem have a problem with the files I downloaded to my computer have the 'user/adb-fastboot/' file but cannot find the bring up the tools extention.

Sorry, this might have been confusing but I didn't post all needed steps yet. I just wanted to make sure you actually get to the droidboot screen.
Since you managed to get there, this is what I recommend: Use https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096 on the "NORMAL START, RECOVERY MODE" etc screen to get into a temporary recovery session. For this tablet you should use trigger T4 and TWRP portrait. Copy the UL-K013-WW-12.10.1.36-user.zip you already downloaded to a external SD card first.
Once you are in recovery, you can try flashing the ZIP. This might restore your system to a usable state.
As for fastboot devices not showing any device: On Windows you may need to install the right USB drivers to make it work properly. You can try the Universal ADB drivers available from https://adb.clockworkmod.com/ or the USB driver provided by ASUS http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/ME176C/ADB_driver.zip. I cannot help you with this because I'm not using Windows much myself.

ASUS ROG2 SOFT BRICK

Hi ,
I have an ASUS ROG2 and I'm experiencing quite a problem here , I would like to know if this can still be rescue or not? or maybe I'm missing some steps here. here's what I've done so far.
Before it got to this dilemma my phone is suffering from autoshutdown so i rooted my phone using magisk and applied the thermal mode by one of the OP here. everything is working fine , the phone is not shutting down until today. it suddenly restart before me and it is stuck in ROG Logo.
what I've done.
1) i flash the stock boot img for my firmware version 2009.49 using fastboot flash boot 2009.49stock.img both slot A & B then followed by fastboot reboot so it can boot to system but it is still stock at the ROG Logo
2) i downloaded a RAW Firmware of 2009.49 , put my phone into fastboot mode. i made sure it was detected by the PC using the command fastboot devices and surely it was. i execute the flashall_AFT.cmd and waited , after it finishes my phone reboots but still stuck at the ROG Logo and here's the problem.
I reboot my phone into bootloader , scroll to Recovery after pressing Power button to select it , it boots and stuck at the ROG Logo at this point i'm confused since i need to factory reset it. so i downloaded TWRP for ROG2 Android 10 the one i usually use then i tried to boot from it using fastboot boot twrp10.img , it only boots and stuck at the ROG Logo again
3) I tried to flash a firmware using EDL mode , everything went well without any errors and there's the success message in Xiaomiflashtool , i reboot the phone to recovery and it is still stuck in ROG Logo.
any guesses? I'm kinda lost here since both RAW and EDL are not working.

You could try booting into TWRP 3.4.0-0 Q Unofficial by mauronofrio without flashing ( fastboot boot twrp-3.4.0-0-I001D-Q-mauronofrio.img ) , then copy the zip over to root of internal storage, either 2009.49 or lastest 2012.65, from here. Be sure to check during flash which slot gets flashed first. Then repeat the process, booting twrp so that you can flash the other inactive slot. If you want to be sure you have changed slots, click on reboot in twrp and see which is active before flashing. Good luck
Hopefully flashing both slots successfully will do it. Let us know how you get on.

I used the TWRP you've linked. and i'm afraid that it is stuck on the rog logo again..
what i've done. ' fastboot boot twrpQ3400.img ' after i sent that command , the phone reboots and instead of going to twrp , it goes to rog logo and stuck there.
is there anyway i could check if there's partition? it feels like the phone has no partition that's why it is always going back to the rog logo.

Did you change the name of the twrp file? the fastboot boot twrp-3.4.0-0-I001D-Q-mauronofrio.img cmd must have an identical name to the file, which as the original should be twrp-3.4.0-0-I001D-Q-mauronofrio.img
and just to be sure, you have the twrp img in fastboot folder, correct?

Yes i did rename it as twrpQ3400.img and yes also , it is in the same folder as my adb & fastboot folder enviroment.
i'll try a different approach maybe using QFIL? although i don't know where to start like finding the XML / Programmer or firehose..
any ideas?

Well i'm running out of ideas, never used QFIL so wouldn't know. since you cannot boot into twrp (i'm assuming you didn't relock bootloader? twrp won't work with locked bootloader), you could try this thread. be sure to use the supplied 1910.35 images as it tried and tested. read posts 1 and 2 at the very least, post 2 has useful steps
if successful, you'll then need to update 1910.64 before android 10 2004.60 to start with, then up to latest

did you remember to shut the phone down after successfully flashing, boot into recovery and wipe data, then reboot? as per the instructions...?

yes , ofcourse since the phone is in EDL mode the only way to shut it down is by using Power + volume up + volume down like around 15 seconds then phone will shutdown since the 9008 COM in device manager will be gone this means that it's no longer in EDL mode. i wait like 1minute before i power it up to recovery by power + volume down then scroll to recovery in bootloader. then with no luck still stuck to Rog logo..
it's like the recovery partition is gone...

Thanks man , i'm searching for the qfil approach but i'm getting a sahara error. currently searching for fixes
edit : i manage to boot the phone using the link you've provided by using QFIL approach and not thru XiaomiFlashTool
the phone boots successfully and i can use the recovery again ! although there's a problem , it can't read my sim card and everything is like stock android without any skins or what.. i used the RAW firmware to update it but the problem with stuck logo is back :/
gonna re-flash using QFIL and i'll check some more ~ maybe use TWRP and flash the firmware there no?
edit: the one from the link is not working , stuck at rog logo.. but the one from the internet i was able to boot to system but can't detect simcard , also when plugging to PC it will go to crashdump mode.
also can't flash TWRP will result in stuck at ROG logo :/
was able to boot the phone but can't connect to wifi and is locked by google frp :/ any guides i can follow to remove that FRP without wifi connection ?
Sorry bud, really not sure what's going on with your phone or know much more. Good luck with it tho

Actually, if you now have recovery, what about booting into twrp and flashing lastest 2012.65 zip from asus website, twice - both slots. see if that fixes your wifi issue
As you said using the QFIL approach worked to boot into system and recovery is back - boot to twrp from that state

Question Blackscreen loop booting

Hi,
I'm stuck with my phone: it still loopbooting every 5seconds, black screen, only retrolight.
Bootloader is unlocked. I wanted to install twrp, but fastboot says partition recovery not existing.
After reboot, i'm stuck with this mod.
Try to press volume - to go again in fastboot : phone is detected by computer, then disconnected because it's rebooting.
Do you have a solution to try for me?
Or what are EDL point? I've tried to make an ELD cable but did not work either.
How long is your bootloader keeps active? If it's about 5 - 10 seconds, you can try paste the command to flash stock recovery. I attached it if it's possible to do so (from the latest global). And by the way - THERE IS STILL NO ANY CUSTOM RECOVERY for our device, sadly. Actually there is some, but only mouse works.
The commands to paste:
fastboot flash boot twrp.img

Boot.img in this case, doesn't make much difference
Sorry but my bootloader don't stay active long enough. I just ear usb detection from PC , then one seconde later, usb disconnection sound.
Phone is still loop booting.
Can you try then pasting "fastboot oem edl" (emergency download mode). The screen should turn black
After that flash with Xiaomi Flash tool
I'm unable to enter in FastBoot mode.
Phone booting black, and every 5 seconds , reboot.
If i push "volume down " button, i hear it vibrate, but nothing. Reboot and not detected by fastboot.exe
I think i have, with all manipulation , relocked the bootloader.
My only way, will to find a way to boot in EDL mode.
Test points, which are unknown so far. You have to disassemble the phone, tho. And you can try to find these points yourself, at your own risk obviously. If you will succeed, pls tell me. We need to know the test points.
I was exactly in same trouble, use This guide that solve the issue.
