look, i used link2sd to do a swap with sd and ext_sd but only move the dates of the app, there's another way to do it but i dont encourage to do it... look in you tube. I read about the last Agni Kernel has got memory swap (17-07-2014 AGNi pureCM v4.2)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197385
Regarding AGNi sdcard1<-->sdcard0 Switcher when enabled:
- original sdcard0 obb data is available at /data/media/obb
- new sdcard1 obb data is available at /mnt/shell/emulated/Android/obb
- original sdcard1 userdata is available at /mnt/shell/emulated
you can move data between these as required.

but it is for custom roms...
i have no idea if the agni pure stock kernel got this atributte
here is the thread to pure kernel

yup, but if you want to install heavy games into ur tab will be fall in the same trouble... the best solution to the low memory issue its make a memory swap of the SdCard to the ExtSd (I got a 32Gb one and have no problem with the left space in my tab).

NO !! but you need to copy all of your ANDROID folder into external card otherwise your earlier installed apps will not work (after swapping)
There are two apks posted which swapand swap back.I'm using them on jb. They are superb. Have 64gig internal now. Nothing was lost. Took 1min

[Guide] Root and swap internal external card for more storage using xxxx kernel......

This is a guide to root and switch the internal storage to sdcard
Fully working on JB 4.1.1 and 4.1.2
P31xx only
Ideal if you don't want a custom rom
all files a linked through developers posts no direct links to files
Warning all proccedures are done at your own risk
Do Not Cry at me if something goes Belly up Read about each download on devs page before installing
This is for Samsung Galaxy Tab2 GT-P31XX ONLY
Read this guide through from start to end collecting all files you need on the way BEFORE starting
first thing you need is odin 3v1.85
download your version of JB 4.1.x from http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-P3110 if your device is not a GT-P3110 change the device on the left hand side to yours
Install via ODIN and download mode
Now we want to root the Tab2 with CF-Autoroot from http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/4...70-p3110-root-android412-xxdma2-jellybean.htm
Install Via ODIN again
Now you have a rooted galaxy tab2
Check if SuperSU is installed if not install from google play now, while at google play install "Root terminal Emulater" we need this later
now we need a new Kernal to be able to swap Storage so Download kkboot-0.5.2-core-p31xx.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1855700
Download and install Moblie odin from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899
copy kkboot-0.5.2-core-p31xx.zip to your tab2's sd card
open mobile odin accept su request and scroll down to install OTA update, zip and select kkboot-0.5.2-core-p31xx.zip. now select flash firmware. accept all warnings
Device now reboots check new kernal installed in settings/about/kernal
if all ok we now swap storage
open Terminal emulater accept SU
enter the command "setprop persist.customboot.sdcard external" without Quotes
Reboot system
goto settings/storage and now you should have sdcard and internal storage switched round
DO NOT REMOVE SD CARD WITH DEVICE ON
any problems start over
If this was useful please thank each DEV when you download there files i have only collected up the info and made the guide
Re: [Guide] Root and swap internal external card for more storage
Dear op......
You have done a good job......this will save lot of tabs from softbricking while trying to swap sd cards....
One more point if you take this in an positive way...
Since we have implimented the swap features in sungsonicHD rom.....
SWaping sd cards will work in both stock and custom kernel AGNi....
So this proved that swap mod will work in both stock ane custom kernels......
So I feel that it is better to edit point number 9 in op.....only if your willing ....to change.......
Rest its the perfect guide ....nic work.....
any chance this can work on CM10.1 ?

Using swap partition kills the memory card eventually. There are a lot more methods available.
@ jhay0017 : Check out my guide on performance & battery life. It should help you. You can find it here.

yeah its true it may reduce the health of ur sd card bt its effective, i mean u can feel the difference. you can give it a try n if u are not satisfied u can uninstall the app.
Find a ROM or kernel that supports zRAM. Set it to like 18% (should be default).
Seems like best option. It compresses a portion of your RAM to fit like 3x to use like swap. Meaning stuff needs to be transferred back to your normal RAM when its needed, which is now smaller. That's the tradeoff, and why it shouldn't be more than 25%.
Anyway might not be available to you but great if it is.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
you could limit the number of useless background apps.
It's availabe in some roms.
I don't know about the zRAM option, because it takes allways time to compress and decompress the memory I guess.

[Q] Do the Cynaogen mod and Slim Roms (kitkat versions) implement Apps2SD

Hi I am not allowed to post in the developers section yet.
Can one of the users of the new Slim ROM or Cyanogen Mod roms for Locked bootloader tell me if they also implement or allow Apps2SD or do you have to use either Folder Mount or Link2SD.
Thanks very much

I've didnt see such option from time when internal memory get more than 5GB.
Only whith apps 5GB of memory is enough. Link2SD or Integrated Apps2SD moved only APK files and datas like saves which is also stored in internal memory. For data files (games obb files for example) you have to use apps like Folder Mount, or mount folders by ownmade script, or "from finger" in Terminal Emulator.
That's a shame I'll stick with stock running version . 257

internal is more than enough... theres app called app2sd or link2sd... those should do it.. but things u have to rmember.. why sony dont put app into sd is it will make the app run slower n laggy... bcos the pathways is bcame complex and the read/write from external is much more slower than internal.. just put music n photo to external.. clear everything except apps into it.. that should do it
That confirms to me that I should stick with what I have currently.

New filesystem layout for Xperia V?

Hi,
I am running Neo's Homebuild of CM12.1
And right now I am running into space problems.
As you know the internal storage of the XV is formatted as 2GB and 4GB partitions. System and Apps are installed onto the 2GB partition. The 4GBs are mostly unused, since I save my pictures to en external SD-card.
Now I was wondering if it is possible to change the filesystem layout to have just one big internal storage to solve my space issue.
Kind Regards
