Nexus 6 Google Play on Sprint? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if I got a Google Play Nexus 6 (Not a Sprint Version, one sold on Google play) ,could I activate it on Sprint? I did it with the nexus 5... Just wondering if it's the same for the Nexus?

I'm sure it will be the same as the N5.

It should work, im buying on play to use it on sprint, the n5 activation was a confusion because was the first time, this time should be easy to active it. The worst scenario would be if the n6 dont have a sim on the box and you would need to ask sprint for one.

Just use international chat and ask for a nano Sim. I did today and will be here in 3-5 business days. That's how I got the Sim for my nexus 5. They carry them for the iPhone, HTC m8, and the moto X 2013.

Activating a nano-sim device (Nexus 6) on CDMA carrier?

Anyone experienced with these kind of carrier-unlocked multi-carrier devices...
What do I need to do to get my beloved Nexus 6 (when it arrives) activated on my account?
I know I need a nano-sim from my carrier (Sprint in this case), and it sounds like I can just walk into a Sprint store and get one. Do the staff do any programming to the sim card while I'm there? Or once sim is in do I need to do some on-device voodoo to make it work on my line?
Or is this thread a few weeks premature, and no one can know yet?
Currently my delivery date is 11/26 the day before thanksgiving...and what I don't want is a slick new device unable to be used because I didn't have my ducks in a row.
I remember with the n5 on sprint launch, people went crazy because sprint didnt know how to activate it, i was able to activated it via chat and in that case i have to skip the phone activation and do a profile update. This year should be easier.

Yet another VZW question

I am patiently waiting for my nexus 6 to arrive when a thought hit me. I have an active nano sim already, but can Verizon block my moto purchased phone later on? I'd hate to be past the return window and have my nexus not function to make calls simply because I bought it direct from moto instead of play store or VZW

Doubtful - especially since Verizon will carry the device. You should be fine.

Google play nexus activate on sprint?

flame me idgaf I tried to search no avail.
will it work? thx in advance
It should work. I know there were some issues at the beginning because sprint needs to provision the imei. Ultimately it will activate, it just depends on how long it will take to activate.

If a sprint user could chime in on how they coached care to provision the imei it would help.. i am trying to get one tomorrow when stock is reloaded.
My Google Play purchased N6 activated no problem (over chat)and I got mine day 1...
Google purchased n6s should activate no sweat. It was Moto bought devices that have been problem children
If you are buying it tomorrow on the play store than you should have a month or so to figure it out before you receive it...

Sprint Nexus 6 for Verzion?

Hello I currently have Verizon for a carrier and was wondering if the Nexus 6 for sprint would be able to work on my Verizon carrier? I had a pretty decent deal $520.00 for a Sprint Nexus 6 that I had to pass up today sadly... I went to the Verizon store and it turns out the IMEI # is not showing up in Verizons database for supported devices.. I was wondering if the Nexus 6 work for Verizon? I'm looking to get a phone that has the bootloader unlocked and will work for Verizon and is a pretty new phone this is why I was considering the Nexus 6, I'm open to other devices that can do this as well if anyone has any other suggestions?
If you have a Verizon activated nano sim (or cut a micro down) you could just put it in the sprint nexus 6 and everything would work fine from what I've read. It will still show as an unknown device and no one knows what will happen for sure with volte yet, but it sounds like verizon will get it on the 12th. People speculate that play store and Motorola phones may eventually be recognized by Verizon, but a sprint version probably never will.

The "sprint" version is the same version from the play store, that's how's it been for quite some time now, that's why it works on any carrier even if you got a contract

Verizon vs Nexus

I was skimming through your forums (I am a VZW Moto X 2014 owner) and I was considering an upgrade to the next Nexus if it comes to Verizon. Has Verizon thrown any road blocks in the way of the Nexus 6 as far as unlocking it? Or is it as simple as every other Nexus by just going into fastboot and oem unlock?
I'd like to go back to a Nexus, but I don't want to waste my time if its just as locked down as any other phone.
Better even than that. Not only is verizon no longer strong enough to resist the goog... they are not *legally* allowed to prevent you from registering your Nexus (purchased from goog direct) on their network.
Verizon sells the Nexus 6, 32gb and 64gb models, but only in Midnight Blue. You can buy one from Motorola or Google Play in Cloud White with the same size options (or blue if you don't want VZW to get the money). And if you buy from Moto/GP, it won't be branded with VZW logos, and has ZERO VZW apps on it. None were installed automatically. Just 100% clean stock Lollipop.
I bought mine on Google Play a few weeks ago. Opened the box, took all the OTAs (all the way to 5.1.1 LMY47Z), unlocked the bootloader, rooted and put in my VZW SIM (from my Moto X 2013). Worked fine until I had to RMA for the back cover coming off. They sent me a new device and it works like a champ. I did the exact same thing when the new device arrived, no issues.
My dad also bought a Nexus 6 and did not unlock or root. He just popped in his SIM, took a few updates and went on his way.
Zero issues on VZW with the N6.
Same here. None VZ bought Nexus 6 on VZ. Zero issues and I'm even running 5.1.1
