Lot of us root our 4.2.2 and flashed a freedom recovery and were very happy until we come to know the fact that we cannot update to Kitkat any more.
some successfully flashed the KDZ in a normal flash way but others were the victims of CDC serial driver.
that was the HISTORY
Lets catch the ear from the other way round.
this is a TOT flash method which says bye bye to cdc driver
i'm going to share the link of the guy who did all the hard work i'm only the contributing some of my efforts here.
the link
http://www.lgbbs.net/thread-3-1-1.html
this link will give a detail tutorial. if you allready flashed all the drivers, do not do it again.
you can download the TOT file from here
https://mega.co.nz/#!7wBnkCKR!zT19XISIhlrP3-ZN24TF5RFeFVOt1vOlOHdPl-lYE4o
DLL file is attached in the post.
LG Flashtool 2014 sometimes becomes headache to find on the net. good news! file attached follow the installing instructions
https://www.dropbox.com/s/da13ysxmhikxpdc/LGFlashTool_1.8.1.1023.zip?dl=0
those unfortunate you can't get into download mode, somehow have to fix that first. no download mode, no flash.
Happy flashing guys of D958 varient.
ENJOY KITKAT
other varients who are struggling with 4.2.2 JB, try and get your TOT file
it should be something like this. cut past the file link in google and see if you can find your download
http://www.vungoc-mobile.com/index.php/section-blog/53-use
PS: copy both dll and tot file in
c:/lg/flashtool folder
Where to put that dll?

there is no good download mode or bad download mode. simply download mode
switch off the mobile, keep volume up pressed and put the usb cable untill download mode appears.
Thank you for tutorial
Why couldn't you take updates? Is it just the D958?
please re share tot file
Hi, I am happy to see that discussions about Flex are not dead! I am one of the unfortunate guys who have got no more download, no more recovery. I understood that the only way to fix it is to force the phone into an almost-bricked state by shorting some pins, then to deal directly within the internal sdcard. Is there anybody who can teach me WHAT to short? A photo with be great.

If anyone have this tool I need too!!
Thanks
Can you get into bootloader mode? Charge the phone and see if you can get into bootloader mode.
I'm on the same boat... Just got my Moto X 2014 bricked... Found the tool and files for the original Moto X, but not for Moto X 2014. I don't think they exist (yet).

@JulesJam
I am (and I believe eveybody else on this post is) requesting the tool / files because our smartphones are bricked in a way we can't access the bootloader. The tool Junior asked on the OP is to repair / reflash the bootloader, which probably got corrupt, so there's no way to access it and flash anything through Fastboot.

Ok, yes, if you corrupted the bootloader than you obviously can't get into bootloader mode. But a lot of times people just don't know how to get into bootloader mode when they have a blank screen. So I was asking.
If your screen is blank when you turn on your device and you know the phone is charged, you can press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds, then immediately press and hold volume down and then press and hold power again and hold both for about 4 seconds then release. I have found I need to press and hold both volume up/down then while still holding press power and keep all 3 held down for 4 seconds and then release. I don't know why but pressing and holding all 3 seems to work better for me.

The screen is only black and phone doesn't get to the fastboot. I've tried a number of ways.
When I connect to the PC, the device is recognized with the name QHSUSB_DLOAD.
When I connect to the charger, the green led flashes constantly.
Ive already have the .hex files

The behavior I see here is quite the same. I tried to use the blankflash tool, but as you already discovered, it needs some device specific files (from the bootloader) and the ones available around just won't work with the Moto X 2014... Install the unsigned device driver on Windows is not difficult. The problem is to find these files, that should come directly from Motorola. Without them, we can't restore the bootloader, that is probably corrupted.

Has anyone looked at this process to see if some variation of it can be used to resurrect your device?

I am not familiar with the process used here to resurrect a bricked Moto X 2013:

However, I have a file emmc_appsboot.mbn for 5.0 for XT1096 (Verizon Moto X 2014) and from scanning the thread above, that may be a useful file.
I can access to the command system, but with the .bin file ive found i receive the "file to large" or "wrong version" message sometimes.
As you said we need the right .bin file.

The flasher tool is a program that let you solve the missing recovery with the qualcomm devices instead of use command lines(its something like rsd vs mfastboot), you need 2 files, .hex file ( or mbn) and .bin file (the emergency recovery). You have the mbn (same as my .hex) we just need the .bin one.

The Droid Ultra is very similar to the Moto X 2014, do you think any of these files may work?

I have just got a HTC Drram G1, its on rogers (American network), but its unlocked to any sim i was sold it from the uk, not sure if this helps with firmware guessing its different for us and uk versions, having a hard time sourcing anything for this phone, lots of links are dead, i am currently on android 1.5, all rooting links are dead, links to reoveries are dead too, does anyone have links to any files or could anyone upload and please?
I did some digging around on my old back up drive. I have found some HTC Dream ROMs. I have ICS and Gingerbread custom ROMs. I have sadly lost the custom recovery img. If there's a way to pull the custom recovery that I have on the phone, I would do that. I would hate to have these files die and in turn have a piece of history die. I will upload the files I have to Androidfilehost or other long term file hosting service and hopfully have these files live on.

I wanted to install AOSP 9 on my device - the Nokia 1 TA-1047 with MTK6735.
Well, after trying to unlock bootloader with md5, erase system, flash system, what I recieve from the fastboot is: sparse overflow. And I was very worry. Right after that, I use the SP Flash Tool, but again, I was worry because CHIP TYPE is NOT MATCH.
So how will you fix it? I'm gonna show you right now.
First, I found the nb0 file to flash by lucky. Here is the link :
http:// tinyurl .com/ frtnokia1
I think it will work with all model.
Second, use the NOST, it's the software that you'll use to flash.
(RECOMMEND: Don't use the OST LA, it'll not work. I tried a lot.)
Here is the download link (Download the latest release v5.0 at the assets)
https:/ /github .com/StollD/NOST/releases/tag/v0.5
After you install the software, extract the nb0 file from the zip, follow to the FLASH part.
Open the NOST at the desktop, choose Next, select the nb0 file you just extracted, choose the Normal Download and Erase User Data (just in case your files still in the phone, of course you'll LOSS ALL YOUR DATA. Because you don't follow the instruction that BACKUP ALL YOUR IMPORTANT DATA).
DO NOT CHOOSE THE EMERGENCY DOWNLOAD!
Before flash, please turn on your phone and let it at the logo screen.
What are you waiting for? Click Next and you're good to go!
Just in case some error appears, just unplug the USB, connect again and Flash it. I have an error when it rebooting the bootloader, but after reconnect the phone to the PC, I successfully flash my phone, and now it turned normal.
Last recommend: DON'T TRY TO FLASH THE SYSTEM OR ROOT THE DEVICE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME.
That's all!
Did you manage to run any custom rom?

Since I lost my phone and completly moved to Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, I can't do anything to the Nokia's things anymore. But I want to know how did you install Android 9 on that tiny phone. Here is my email : [email protected]
I'm new to all of this so I tried to follow a tutorial I just found online. The tutorial was on the androidexplained website.
I followed everything and at the end the phone turned on and I was going through the set up. But it got stuck on the looking for updates part. I tried restarting the phone and now it won't even turn on. It only shows a message that says "Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed.
I can access download mode by holding down the vol. down and bixby buttons and plugging the usb cable into a pc, but I can't do anything after that. I tried redoing the thing with odin again, but it shows "Fail".
Please help.

you should search on xda instead of on random sites.
1- learn to differentiate the different note 9 models
2- once you have learned this skill, apply the appropriate fix:
2.a-either flash back stock if you are on a north americian model
2.b-continue rooting process accordingly by following the Dr. ketan root oem fix in the guides section of this forum if you are on an international variant.
2.c-if you have a Chinese or south American version, head on over to the snapdragon rom development section.
how to achieve the above is all documented. just search and read the available info on xda.
Thanks for the help everyone, I downloaded the official ROM and flashed it with odin and my phone's working perfectly fine!

Have you tried flashing SCDTF1 FIRMWARE! That's the only firmware you can flash for now.
Look for either XEU OR BTU, don't worry about your CSC as long as you are using the multi-CSC OXM firmware your CSC will be supported.
Same issue here as well
Yes I did got same issue after update .... Contacted samsung but they dont have any solution .... pls keep all of us posted with the solution if any .... Actual problem is with IMEI number not displaying which prevents Network to come up .... this is what one of the samsung representative told me ....
Everyone pls keep posted for any update on this.
