[Q] Which 4.4 ROM? - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I am looking for a ROM with the following qualities:
- Android 4.4
- SEMC UI
- for locked bootloader
- stable for everyday use
- good battery life
Is there any such ROM? Most 4.4 ROMs I can see here seem to be lacking the SEMC UI.
Regards,
Mike

By SEMC you mean stock sony kitkat ui? If so, give it a try to xperianze and repexpersis, you can find them in the development section.

No such ROM.

Hello.
- Ok
- No. You'll need to apply a theme on your own. However you'll require a theming engine. This engine was built in Cyanogenmod ROMs so most derivatives will have it as well.
- Ok
- Custom ROMs are deemed to be stable, but will never be perfectly stable. Nothing is actually stable in my perspective
- Simply no. Battery usage is very different compared to stock ROM. SURPRISE! Because it is not a stock ROM.
So for your queries, no there aren't any ROMs that matches your request, sorry.
However if you still want suggestions, I suggest Paranoid Android by NexusPrime or CM11 by bagyusz or CM11 weeklies by MrSteve555.

Thank you for the replies! Then I will stay at 4.3 (Master ROM V5), perhaps one day there will be a suitable KitKat ROM.

In simple terms stock based roms will use the Sony skin and many of Sony's apps - typically the developer will have tweaked the build to improve performance or used the most recent version of Sony apps from higher end devices (the Z1 for example). They may also add some extra features - (using the volume buttons to skip music tracks/advanced reboot menu).
Custom Roms won't have any of the Sony features and generally will be closer to unskinned AOSP (Android Open Source Project) in appearance. They will mostly have some unquie features and be more options for customisation than a stock based ROM. Developers can also release higher versions of Android than Sony, allowing the user to experience Kit Kat long before Sony release a build. They tend to perform better than stock builds because they are less bloated. Sony has significant facebook integration within it's builds for example, similarly whilst it's possible to ignore it, there is a lot of secondary marketing within a Sony build trying to get you to use their music/video/games services. Most of these apps are heavy, slowing down the device. The SP copes fine, but their are definitely smoother custom roms out there.
Ok thanks !

[Q] Xperia TX best and most stable ROM

hi guys i'm new here and in android world ! i have a sony Xperia TX ....a bliss !
how can i flash custom roms ( suggest me the best actually ). and guide me through !
i'm not familliar with android terminology lol
i am running 9.2.A.1.215 , rooted, recovery installed
thanks
I'm using CM11 m9 based on 4.4.4. I use ART environment, not dalvik.
It's as stable as stock or even better; seems to be as good in terms of battery life as stock rom as well.
The only thing I miss from Sony stock rom in Cyanogen is Sony camera app. All efforts to port it to CM have failed so far.

I would recommend
XperiaSP Locked Bootloader (LBL) Cyanogenmod 11.0

if you like the basic CM functionalities.
Regardless of that, testing multiple ROMs is recommended as that will give you a clearer outlook on what's better.

[email protected] :
thank you i will install that rom after i buy a new sd card in the next few days, bcuz now i have only 1gig sd card, and that rom forces you to have a big sd card, beceause it uses sd card as internal as a new feature , and i don't like that feature
My Opinion
Here's what I think about the different ROMs out there!
CM11 - Great support, lots of MODs, very stable. But tends to get laggy very soon.
AOSPA - Some great unique features, great Audio, better touch sensitivity ( All the @neXus PRIME ROMs have these features.
PAC - Loaded with all the goodness from all the ROMs, but had some random reboots but that might be my problem only!
OMNI - The ROM which is the most close to AOSP. Almost the pure android experience.
AICP - Loaded with features and honestly, overloaded. Gets very laggy, really soon.
AOKP - I'm not an AOKP lover, had random problems with AOKP.
Vanir - 4.4.2 version was absolutely brilliant. It was THE fastest and most responsive ROM out there. With 4.4.4 came lots of bugs.
CM 11s - A very nice ROM. Stable and good battery life upto an extent.
Stock Based - They are really stable and provides improved functionality over the Stock FWs. But no KitKat love for them!
Out of all these I personally prefer the OMNI ROM.
P.S : All these are my opinions and may NOT be how the ROM works out for others. I respect all the developers who worked behind them

Best ROM

Hi, i would like know what is the best ROM now for SP? AOKP CM Existenz ecc? A summary of ROM can be useful.
Sorry for english
Thanks
sir, u got death wish?
After many tries best for me is stock rom
I've used quite some roms and kernels. For now the best two would be pacrom and Crystal PA rom. They are stable, have some additional features compared to cm11 and they are fast. With williams kernel they work smooth.
If you are looking for stock based then in my opinion eXistanZ Ultra with Williams v7 would do.

No problems in using 4.4.2 but we don't want to stick with an earlier version when you have later ones, do we? Still it's a good option!:fingers-crossed:

Stock rom, rooted, custom recovery and xposed framework do a great job!
Needed Custom rom go for cm 12.1 stable with new themes (there is android n preview theme also ).
if needed fast and cm like rom then use slim rom 5.1.1 rom for honami xperia z1
if needed camera tweaks and advantages of sony apps go for stock rom
and want some new features on stock rom then go with xposed frameworks and custom mods
