I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by my good friend scott.hart.bti from the Samsung Infuse 4G. This is a build composed off of the CM10.1 builds that he has added alot of features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also Derteufels build and have been modified to work with my current setup. A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!
I plan on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

Trouble Alerts/Workarounds:
Status bar/Notification Drawer - There seems to be a bug with the 4.2.2 status bar/notification drawer freezing. It is happening on numerous phones at random and there is not a fix available yet. Workaround - Numerous ways to workaround this issue, but easiest in my opinion is to go to settings - system settings - PIE - Enable/Disable PIE. This restarts systemUI and unfreezes the status bar.
PIE - PIE seems to be functioning good for the most part, but there is one bug i have noticed. When you first bring the phone out of sleep and unlock it and try to use PIE without doing anything else, it does not show the PIE image until you change a screen. So basically you have to do something first and then it will work fine. Workaround - Settings - Lockscreen - custom lockscreen background - Select any options... it can be Color, transparent, or custom image. As soon as you select one of those options, PIE works perfectly.

Notice***This is the very first build for the I9300 so I'm in need of some testers to let me know what works and what doesn't! If you recognize my name(doubtful) I am the builder/maintainer for SlimBean for both the Samsung Infuse 4g and the Galaxy S3 I9300(Slimbean for the Galaxy S3 I9300) This is a very cool ROM and I thought I'd help a friend out and bring it to another device that I know pretty well I don't actually own the S3 but I do know what I'm doing for the most part PLEASE, if you find anything wrong with the ROM post below(please attach logcats if possible) and I'll look into the problems! So you're interested in Building/Porting for another device?! Follow this guide! **Please make sure to give proper credits and use the layout I have in the first post.** - If you need assistance, please send me a PM, do NOT post questions in this thread. Scott may open a general porting/building thread in another section depending on how this goes. You must have some general experience/knowledge in this area to complete this. Building from Linux platforms; In particular Ubuntu 10.04(I personally use Linux Mint 14)
Setup to build - This section can be skipped if you've ever built anything before. This is for first time build setup.
1. From your root terminal location, type the following: sudo apt-get install curl git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool g++-multilib lib32z1-dev lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline5-dev gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib
2. Type: mkdir ~/bin
3. Type: PATH=~/bin:$PATH
4. Type: curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo
5. Type: chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
From terminal
1. type 'cd'. This will bring you to your root folder.
2. type 'mkdir beanstalk'. This will create a folder named beanstalk.
3. type 'cd beanstalk'. This will take you to the beanstalk directory created from previous step
4. type 'repo init -u git://github.com/scotthartbti/android.git -b cm-10.1'. This will setup the folders to be synced.
5. type 'repo sync'. This will sync the folders to your beanstalk directory. Note - This will take some time depending on internet connection. Be patient!
6. After the repo sync finally finishes, all you need to do is add your device, kernel, vendor specific files for the device you are building for. (You must know what these are, dont bother asking me if your not sure.)
7. Make sure all your device specific files are setup as if you were going to build for CM.
8. Outside of terminal, navigate to beanstalk/vendor/cm. Double click on the get-prebuilts file and select run in terminal. This will fetch necessary files needed to build and place them where they need to be.
9. Type '. build/envsetup.sh'
10. Type lunch
11. Enter your device name(should be listed if it's supported by cm) Ex. cm-i9300-userdebug
12. Type ' make -j4 bacon
13. Previous step will start building beanstalk for your device. The process takes anywhere from 1 - 3 hours depending on your computer.
14. Once completed, it will say package complete and you will have a beanstalk named zip file in your out folder.

Additionally, it contains all the options AOSP, with Helly bean-build.prop tweaks, dark theme from Slim etc.
Love the scroller option
For a long time I wanted all these functions together in a single ROM.

Going to give this a spin. What gapps are being used on this rom? No mention in OP so im assuming the regular 4.2.2 gapps. Curious to also know if the real dark slim gapps would work? Hell i'll just test them. Lol! Good work Bro! Cheers!

Yes any 4.2.2 gapps will do. I'll get some uploaded soon. I'd avoid the Dark slim gapps..they have the framework mods applied to them, when TRDS is included in the ROM that already does just that. So you'd be turning on TRDS when it's already enabled on your gapps..things might get screwy, but up to you if you decide to flash those.

Using temasek kernel.. At first, just want to try it out of curiosity but turns out it is wayyy amazing..
Significantly less lag in many apps.. Even i underclocked my cpu down to 1ghz with undervolt.
Tweaks options is really amazing..
EDIT: 1 request. Can expanded destop mode hidebthe status bar in lockscreen as well? Please...

Grreat idea to develop Beanstalk. Tried this version on Nexus 5. How about Phone call, 3G Data connections, tethering, all of these working? I can't test the Rom for the moment as the tab is with my wife. Hopefully somebody can reply.

ROM is very quick as stated but I stopped tests when I was unable to read (access) SD card formatted exfat is this a fixable issue? I am pretty sure this is a kernel tweak but I do not know how to make the tweak. Regardless superb effort and ROM has great potential. Thanks for your efforts.:good:

To start congratulations and applause for your accomplishments on Wifi tethering & portable hotspot and bluetooth tethering that work. looking forward to trying the ROMs. Regarding your question. - UITA's Sky High kernel for his JB 4.1.2 ROM provides the capability to mount/read/write to an exfat SD card. I'm currently I am using his ROM and kernel and have a 64gb Sandisk SSD card in the external slot in my P6800. His thread for the kernel development discusses his success in getting exfat to work. If you need me to I can send you some of the specific post locations in the thread. I was hoping someone could use the same technique and tweak your kernel to provide for using SSd cards formatted exfat. Moreover, this kernel seems to have many other beneficial tweaks that might be helpful.
Currently i do not have the skill set to open and modify the kernel or I would attempt it. You guys do so much for us users that don't contribute much to development and have yet to ask to be pointed to a good source to learn to modify a kernel. But I continue to "google it" and will eventually get answer I'll understand. Again, congratulations and applause for your accomplishments to date. Thank you.

By giving constructive feedback and encouragement, there are many such as yourself making good contribution already to our forums
There are many guides out there for basic kernel build, including XDA university. There isn't a "one size fits all" guide, pieces need to be taken from here and there, as well as trial and many errors. Also, there are many different build environment & packages and variables such as platform, OS, device, compiler toolchain etc etc. Some kernel zImage and recovery are compiled together for boot.img, but our device is separate zImage & recovery.img.
Takes a lot of time and effort to get off the ground and the hardest part of trying to understand some changes. I admit that I don't always understand all changes, but try to given time.
Also, you have to be prepared to risk your device first before sharing anything. There is always potential if you don't know what you're doing, especially when porting other device drivers etc.
Anything you share (release for public), must adhere to GPL. This basically means that you MUST make available your source and any changes.

Preferable if you want to be clean follow all the steps i' ve wrote but this will delete all except ext-sdcard ... You can try a dirty flash if already on a ERB6 build but you'll probably encouter FC and strange vibration

i use my phone from this morning 7apm , gps about 1h , mail , web browsing, xda , 30 min of boombeach , 1-2h of spotify and i'm actually at 42% .. +4h SOT and phone tell me i'll have 8h37m left .... not bad

do u also update the ROM every week or every month? if yes for how long are u about to update. i ask this because most people that created their own ROM they only support phones for a short amount of time, like they dont update it so frequently

Nope, just a link error (poco f3), just click on parent folder then stable/Miui13.

i meant gestures were restricted to only stock launcher from google side from A11, you can use any launcher from play store too but gestures will work with stock only

Installation Instructions:
- Install rom zip using TWRP/OFOX
- If you have a/b device, then flash recovery into ramdisk using its advanced menu
- Format if you are encrypted, otherwise wipe data is enough
- Reboot
- Enjoy the smoothness+performance
- Patched Magisk available in group EliteDevelopmentforMi11Ultra it will remove encryption & dm-verify by default.

Well, we make rom based on global/china releases
Its not eu type etc,
Yes we also use global tag in roms which eu does too but read/compare changes and see yourself

Codename for 12s pro is UNICORN. Would be awesome if you could include that too.
Just for everyone's information, I am a subscriber for EliteRomNG/ Pro/ Plus. This comes at a fair price of 7-8$ subscription wherein you receive 10 updates. However, there will be no next update unless there are at least 10 users. I request everyone, who can afford and support the developer to come forward and subscribe to this. It is fai enough...you get 10 updates, meaning 2 updates per month, for the next 6 months. Consider subscribing! The Rom is really a great one I have seen till today for Mi 11 Ultra
