[Q] Xperia SP broken after installing custom rom. - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I'm new here and I have a problem, a huge one to be specific. The main problem: my phone don't want to boot at all, no sony logo, no anything, just a flash of the bottom light (previously a vibration, but for some reason its gone...). When I plug it to my pc it puts itself to flash mode. I previously put existenz 3.0.0 on it without any trouble and I wanted to put Cyanogenmod 11 on it becouse I didn't liked existenz that much. But afterwards my phone don't want to boot. I tried to flash a standard android 4.1 onto it but it just stopped for some reason and stuck. Btw it's a T-mobile phone, and the bootloader is locked.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!? :crying:

Flash for your model .ftf with flashtools

Yes, flash for your model .ftf with flashtool! Then the phone will work!

It is best to try again. I hope it will work. Just make sure the ftf you downloaded is for your device. Also make sure drivers are properly installed. To have all drivers installed, navigate to Flashtool install directory, there is a folder called "drivers", get into it and run the installer there in. Choose "flashmode drivers" and "fastboot drivers". Scroll down a bit, find "Common drivers for Viskan board" and tick that as well.
Your phone can still boot up - that's a good indicator. If it does not react at all, you could have been told by the community that your device was hard bricked. Luckily it isn't.

thanks for all the replys, flashing worked and its running cm11 with ő ne probléma: it cannot fibd the internal storage , anyag solutions?

[Q] Help needed urgently

Hi all,
Not really sure where to post this, so firgured id put it under general questions. I am currently trying to flash android 4.2 to an Xperia Z1 thats currently running 4.4.4 kitkat. - Now feel i should mention at the start, that i am not particually brilliant with android, and am slowly learning the basics.
I am using a program called Flashtool, I have the file that I want to flash over (the 4.2) - I have also gone through the program to install all the drivers. ( I have installed all drivers as i didnt know what i needed and didnt need, and initially tried just installing the z1 drivers ) Flashtool picks up my phone, and tells me what its currently running, it also detects that what version of android i am currently running, but for some reason dosent pick up that ive tried to plug in my phone in flash mode.
The system detects when I start the phone in fastboot mode, but whenever I use Flashtools to try and connect my phone in flash mode, it just keeps asking me to connect the phone. ( I am using Z1 and the standard key is vol down whilst plugging it into the usb cable, however the l.e.d. flashes red and green quickly and then shuts off, cant even be sure that the problem is Flashtools, it might be that i havent put it into flashmode properly??)
any help would be brillant, feel free to contact me via the xda site, or via e-mail [email protected] -
This might be a particularly basic problem to somebody, its had me stumped for days, any help you could give would be massively appreciated,
cheers
Try Older version of flashtool or you are missing some drivers in flashtool folder is file with drivers and you need to check flashtool drivers and z1 drivers and firstly connect the phone and wait to install drivers and next turn off phone and hold vol down and connect without flashtool to install flashtmode drivers and at the end try to flash via flashtool.
If you are sure you have installed drivers correctly then kill any other process on your pc which use adb drivers like pc companion or airdroid etc. Or use other usb port. Or use other pc. Wrong thread though.

Now that its rooted, its running 4.2.2 and I am wondering if there is a way of keeping root access, but flashing it back up to 4.4.?
Really grateful to everyone!!

[Q] Sony Logo Bootloop !?

Hi all,
So I got this Sony Xperia SP C5303 from a friend of mine which is stuck on a boot loop (SONY logo => XPERIA logo => Orange logo, then screen dims and reboot )
I tried to flash it with FlashTool but nothing, I downloaded the ftf for it and I have installed all the drivers from the flashtool driver folder but nothing, I always get an error on Flasgtool indicating that I must install the drivers
As I said, the phone cannot be booted and I have never connected it to my computer so there were no previous drivers, so what should I do ? (I have Win 7 btw)

Don't know what you mean by all but the three necessary ones are fast boot, flash mode & viskan board drivers. Use the latest version of Flashtool, install those drivers, prepare the firmware and connect the phone pressing the volume down button.

I do have FlashTool the latest version (0.9.18.6) and what I meant by "all" is that when I run the "FlashTool drivers" that comes with the software, it gives me a checklist of the available drivers, I ticked every single one of those drivers, and they're all installed, but still, FlashTool shows an error that the driver must be installed !

You don't need to install all of them, just the three I mentioned. Could possibly be causing detection issues.
Go download USBDeview and see what you got installed. I'd advise you to remove everything Android and Xperia related and start from scratch to avoid conflicts. If you have installed things properly, you phone should show up as something like this in USBDeview -
Normal mode
Xperia SP - USB Composite Device
Fastboot mode
S1Boot - Fastboot Android ADB Interface or ADB Bootloader Interface or something similar.
Edit : Just as I finished posting, my SP wasn't getting detected in adb. Why? Because I had connected my brother's Xperia ZR and for some reason my phone doesn't like other phones being connection on my machine It was showing up as Linux storage unit or something. Reinstalled drivers via FlashTool and everything's good again. Drivers are finicky things man.

LOL, well I've got a little update
I flashed the phone first with Sony PC Companion, after it finished, I plugged out the phone and started it, it took some while to boot, the screen showed up but it wasn't responsive, after a couple of seconds, it dimmed and it rebooted and now it's back to the same old issue (SONY > XPERIA > Orange > Reboot).
Right afterwards, I flashed it using FlashTool (This time it worked perfectly, which is weird) but still nothing, after finishing the flash and plugging out the phone, it's stuck on the SONY, XPERIA and the colorful waves bootanimation ....
I've no idea what is wrong with this thing now

Well the fact that it's getting there means there isn't anything significantly wrong with it.
Have you tried rebooting it using the off button at the back? Sometimes it does that the first time booting into the ROM. Just press and hold the button for a few seconds with a pen or a toothpick to reboot the device.
You could also boot back into recovery and do a factory reset just to see if it helps the cause.
You can also try different firmware versions. Maybe 4.1.2 instead of 4.3.
BTW is the boot loader unlocked on the phone?

I did try the tiny yellow OFF button in the back several times through the flashing process and whatnot, but nothing .
I tried getting into recovery mode but it just won't it just keeps on doing the same bootloop as before
I dunno if trying a different firmware would help, I highly doubt it but I will try it as I got nothing to lose
I've no idea what that boot loader is but I DID try to unlock it using FlashTool's BLU and I got this in the log "07/029/2015 21:29:05 - INFO - Your phone bootloader cannot be officially unlocked"

You need to press either the volume up or down button a few times when you're booting up to get to the recovery. If you have done it right then after the Sony splash screen you should go into the recovery.
Boot loaders need to be unlocked to be able to flash custom recoveries & ROMs but forget about unlocking the boot loader for now since you do not know what it is and without your phone working there's no way of knowing for sure of it can be done or not.
Like I said try doing a factory reset in the recovery or a different firmware to see if it helps.

Well, I just did some research and I found out that Sony phones do not have a stock recovery mode . . . So there's no recovery mode for me (I did try but nothing)
I'm going to try to unlock the boot loader using SDK and if nothing happens, I'll try to flash it with a different firmware

Oh damn I forgot you had flashed stock firmware...yeah Sony phones ship w/o a recovery. Even if it had one, it wouldn't be much use other than wiping cache & dalvik, factory reset and installing official signed updates. A big reason why people unlock their boot loaders to install a custom recovery.
Before you proceed try to understand as much as you can about what you are doing. Don't go in half cocked and create more problems for yourself. The main problem you face is that you don't have a working system so
a) you don't know whether you bootloader can be unlocked to begin with and
b) even if it can be, you can't take a TA backup to save your warranty cause your phone's not working. If you don't take the backup before the first time you unlock, your warranty's pretty much gone forever.
If you still wanna proceed, check out the link below. Another poster wanted to unlock recently so the thread below contains boot loader unlocking instructions. There are four I have listed. Read carefully before you proceed.

[SOLVED] Xperia SP - Locked Bootloader - Soft Brick

Hi everyone !
I've a Xperia SP which wont turn on anymore ... i installed a recovery, made a wipe factory, since it doesnt turn on :'(
Just so you know, i installed PhilZ Touch and TWRP (but i dont succeed to access them now, if someone know the manipulation ...)
However, i can access the Flash Mode, so I installed Flashboot (9.19.8), installed ALL the driver which were available in the "driver" directory, and tried to flash 4 differents TFT files, i tried on every USB port, with an officiel USB cable from Sony... didnt work
I've always the same error: Processing of system.sin finished with errors.
and then, the phone boot on "Sony" logo, then turn off, finally go in flash mode again endlessly as long as i let it plugged to my PC.
I dont know what to do, so here i am. Maybe all the rom i tried arent stock or arent compatible with my Locked bootloader ? Maybe its too low in battery (but before the recovery installation, it has something like 75% ...).
Thanks for your help !

Please use 0.9.18.6 or 0.9.19.8. Download the proper version of Flashtool here: http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
Then download the stock firmware by using Xperifirm that comes with the Flashtool, afterwards flash the stock firmware.
Also what Windows are you on?
I search for 6hours without anything, i post here ... and 10min after i found the problem ...
Flashtool isnt working for my phone after the 9.18.6 version o_o

Sony Xperia Z1,locked bootloader, rooted, accidently deleted recovery ,ROM....help plz

Greetings everyone.I happen to own a Sony Xperia Z1 which I bought around a month back ,carrier locked (Orange France). The stock carrier ROM was much of a wreck,so I decided to try Cyanogenmod ...but alas, turns out my " bootloader unlocking allowed:: no".So I started looking for stock based custom ROM,and flashed DstrikerZ1KaiROM_SP004 based on the latest official android 5xx.and before that I flashed this recovery Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.8.26-RELEASE.combined,everything was going fine until the people on the other side complained that they are unable to properly hear me in conversations, and the microphone sounds muffled.I googled about it and found that although there exists some tuts to adhere to this situation ,the newest firmware was the main culprit...So,tired of all these,at last I decided to flash a stock android 4.4.4 kitkat based rom TrinityVengeanceRaptorXHD_1.3.the ROM looked beautiful and promising in the screenshots.I downloaded it and flashed it.But before flashing I also did one thing I went to wipe>>advanced options in twrp and deleted everything dalvik cache, system,sd card...everything that could be ticked,I intended to do a clean install, after that I flashed the Trinity ROM,the aroma installer asked for necessary inputs and the installation proceeded without incident, then the phone asked to reboot. After reboot the phone wont start up any more.I pressed the power key,I could feel the device vibrating but the screen won't light up.Then I tried pressing the power button and volume down button, the screen lights up for a moment showing the spash screen "SONY >>>>>>>XPERIA" and then turns off.I tried connecting to Androxyde's Flashtool ,the phone is not detected as Sony Xperia Z1 c6903 but rather as a generic device in flash mode ,no button combination needed for this ,like it was the default state, connected through usb to the pc and flashtool detects it as a flashmode device,I also tried tapping the volume up key,and this time it gets connected as a fastboot generic device.I even downloaded the stock sony firmware 14.6.A.1.157 global but flashtool didnot read the ftf.Yeah I did install all the flashtool drivers after disabling Driver Signature Enforcement (win 10 64bit) and drivers installed without issue, but still the phone was not detected,I have minimal adb and fastboot installed, the device gets enlisted as a fastboot device to "fastboot getvar version",but not as a adb device,(I guess because altough USB DEBBUGGING was turned on initially,I deleted everything so it must have been disabled and the new kitkat rom which I installed didnot gave me the chance to boot and use the ROM,the phone never booted after the install.SO,BASICALLY I AM OUT OF OPTIONS AND SOUNDING SOS :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
thanks in advance for reading my long post,
may be you guys can resurrect my phone
really appreciate any help...

Xperia SP almost dead after flashing. Need help.

I flashed my Xperia SP with from Jellybeam to CM13 rom. I didn't create any backup, wiped clean everything including cache using twrp recovery. While the setup installed CM13 without any error but I downloaded the wrong gapps and the setup didn't accept those. So I chose to reboot the cell and since then it just stopped responding. Although it is showing the green led while plugged in via USB, it won't start in neither fastboot nor recovery mode.
I'm stuck here and have no idea what to do.
I tried installing PC companion, flashtools, SP flashtools, emma, everything. None of these detect my cell. I'm using Windows 10 (64 bit) and am at a dead end.
Any help would be appreciated.
UPDATE:
I managed to flash it with errors and now it's stuck in a SONY logo bootloop. Its starts, shows SONY logo for a while and then turns off again. Again it's not getting recognised by any flash tool, sony companion etc.
Help please.

Hey!
Sad to hear, but maybe (I hope) this method will help you. Basically what you will get is an original Xperia SP with 4.1 android as it came from the factory.
You will need:
1. Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde" version 0.9.18.6. Don't know if newer version came or better. You can find it here in forums. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2489955
2. The basic ROM "12.0.A.2.254".
The method that helped me:
SP turned off. Cable not connected.
Start Sony Mobile Flasher (Flashtool) , give administrator rights.
Top left cornet click on the bolt and choose flashmode, then in firmware selector you can find and select the downloaded ROMs and kernels. Choose the official 4.1 (12.0.A.2.254). Click falsh so it starts to proceed.
Then a windows appears called "wait for flashmode".
Now. Grab your turned off SP press volume down and connect the usb to pc. Keep holding volume down button till flashtool starts to upload the system. (Hopefully it will be fast enough, and phone will not turn on. For me it was)
After flashtool is finished you will see:
09:50:53 - INFO - Flashing finished.
09:50:53 - INFO - Please unplug and start your phone
09:50:53 - INFO - For flashtool, Unknown Sources and Debugging must be checked in phone settings
09:50:54 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
Unplug and start the SP
If everything went as planned you have your phone back with stock 4.1 and 12.0.A.2.254 kernel.

Thanks a lot brother. At first it didn't work when I flashed it with the latest version of Flasher. Then I installed the exact version you mentioned (0.9.18.6) and phone didn't boot during the flashing and now it's back to normal with the default 4.1 stock.
Thanks a bunch, you're a life saver for me. :highfive:
