3. ROOTED DEVICE.
HOW TO START WITH DEODEXING :
1. FIRST ENABLE USB DEBUGGING ON YOUR PHONE.
2. NOW DOWNLOAD AND EXTRACT ATTATCHED ZIP ANYWHERE IN YOUR PC.
3. CONNECT YOUR DEVICE TO PC USING USB CABLE.
4. NAVIGATE "ASUS_ZENFONE_4_A400CG_DEODEXER" FOLDER AND OPEN "OPEN.BAT" FILE. AND WAIT FOR THE DEODEXING TO COMPLETE.
REMEMBER : IT WILL TAKE 20-25 MINUTES IN ALL TASKS. SO BE PATIENT

just reboot again. i don't know why but asus zenfone 4 shows fc's on first boot(after flashing anything modded files) and works fine from second boot.

01. Download & Instal Intel Usb Driver
02. Download & Extrack File Root "Root_Zenfone 4_T001.rar" Extrack File must in the same folder
03. Mode Debugging USB (Usb Debugging) is On. (settings/About/Software information touch "Build Number" 7x).
04. Turn off Zenfone 4 and enter to "DROIDBOOT" (Power + Vol Up + Vol Down)
05. plug in Zenfone 4, Make sure On the Screen Mode DROIDBOOT Is Inscribed " Ready for Download"
06. Open the folder that was extracted and klik "OPEN.CMD"
07. type this on cmd: fastboot flash update root_zenfone4_v4.2.0.zip
08. " Enter " wait for processing
09. Your Zenfone 4 now is rooted.

Follow the instructions on page 1, but use the root file from Asus website http://www.asus-zenfone.com/2014/06/how-to-root-asus-zenfone-4.html >> Choose the second Here for Root file, should say v2.

What abt CWM/TWRP?? will there be any Custom ROM for our Device?
Could anyone copy and paste a stock build prop, I edited mine to make it work with a Samsung gear fit and while it works ok, the stock dialer and camera apps have stopped working, the camera also has a green tint and Ive had a couple of RR since. I realise in hindsight that I should have copied it before editing but it was 3am at the time and I was going on a long run at 6am so was trying to get the Gear fit working.
Plz help I tried rooting via APK and it bricked my phone but recovered but only one prob
That when I restart or switch on live demo opens up
How to get rid of it?

when ever am tryin to flash the recovery via odin.. it showing a error msg. as failed! and in the phone is showing! custom recovery blocked by fap lock! Any suggetions? how to solve this?

Hi, mounting is not working for me. I already installed the right usb driver then tried again but no good.
PS: Awaiting reply.
Issue on XXU model : The recovery is unable to reboot the device, whenever I press "reboot system" it stucks at the screen then I have to remove the battery to restart.

I have pleaded with the OP to correct the link..but that one must have moved on..lol
For SM-G530H on LP..Dont know which version of LP thow..isnt compatible with my G531M on 5.1.1..maybe soon..someone will work something up for the M..lol

I am having difficulties with my camera too.
i think superuser mod is not working.
As I unlocked the camera with APK tool for nougat and tried replacing with the stock one.
it says camera is busy by another process.

@ L33Tgod found out that the camera black issue is with the vulkan driver flashable ZIP LIBs , not the the deodexed --
I found out that the patched services.jar is somehow not working with my edited camera UI apk.
so I decompiled a stock JAR and then force the compare function to return always 0 .
Now my edited cameraUI from XZ is running fine
Here is the jar file, u can replace the stock with this one -----

for me it did not----
I patched my own and now edited APKs with APK tool can run without problem
