[Q]Vibrate alert when phone on silent? - LG G Watch R

Hi all,
I was wondering if people had any issues with alerts not vibrating on the watch? I have an S4 and when i put my phone on silent i dont get any vibration alerts on my phone.
is there any way to change this?
thanks

Hi there,
Yes, got exactly the same issue with my G Watch R, and I also use an S4.
I'm going to see if there's a difference between putting my phone on silent 'manually', versus using the Android Wear app 'Silence on connected phone' and 'Alert on watch only' option.

I contacted LG and posted on the google forums and it seems like its this way by design. it will mirror whats going on on the phone so if the phone is silent it wont vibrate the watch. I used the android wear app to send google feedback as id like to see more control over this.

I have my N5 on silent during the day at work, but my watch vibrates fine. There is a setting on the watch with a swipe down. Try putting your phone on silent and then pull down the menu on the watch to see if notifications are silent on there.

In that last video the guy made it seem like the Gear would alert you if you forgot your phone. Is this actually in? I can't seem to find a setting for it either on the Gear or in Gear manager and mine definitely doesn't alert me that I left the phone behind, unless it's just the vibration saying you lost Bluetooth connectivity. In the video it didn't appear to be that tho, because he wasn't very far from the phone when he got the alert.
it does let you know bc it disconnect from Bluetooth then it vibrates on your wrist

In the video he doesn't look very far from the phone before he "got the alert" when I'm outside I can go 50-60 feet easily before Bluetooth disconnects. I was hoping I had missed a more intelligent alert with regards to leaving the phone behind, but I guess it's not there.

phone lost alert smartwatch 2

Hello, I have received my free smartwatch few days ago, it seems to be working fine, but there is a issue.
I don't get any alert when my phone is disconnected from watch (there is a slight vibration, but no notification or message)
My question is how do I get my watch to vibrate and display message that my phone is lost?
this seems like a pretty much great thing to have, is there a way to get it?
Thanks a lot

Mine vibrates twice when I am out of range from phone or when I turn the bluetooth on my phone off.

Well yeah, I get that too...
But the problem is it should at least vibrate 5 times and display a message.. This way I am not sure if it is just Facebook spam or my phon ebeing lost..
So there is no way to turn on this additional alert?

I don't think that it has an option for this.
Install watchit or augmented smartwatch and you will get the alert.

Phone not muted by Android Wear

Using a Nesux 5 on 5.0 when I enable 'mute connected phone' in Android Wear it does not work.
If I press Vol + or - 'Muted by Android Wear' is displayed in the Interruptions menu (if that's what its called?) but the phone still beeps for notifications and rings for call.
I have tried reinstalling Wear as well as clearing the cache.
Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a work around?

Yes. I am facing this problem too! Seems like a compatibility bug with Android Lollipop. Might be due to the implementation of the 'Notification Priorities'.
Hope some updates come up soon to fix them!!
I'm running 5.0.1 on my HTC One M7 GE. The mute works with 5.0.1. It's a "priority" mode setting. Where the phone does not ring, but certain notifications may make a sound if they are priority and could be lowered.
Glad it's not just me then. Hopefully it'll be address in 5.1/5.0.1
Fixed in the latest Android Wear app. Version 1.0.5
Also seems to be OK on Lollipop 5.0.1 on the watch! Yay
Hum ... I still have the problem. Mute seems alright for notifications but not for phone ring.
I have Nexus 5 on 5.0 (LRX21O), Gear Live on 5.0.1 (LWX48P) and Wear App 1.0.5..1630507.
Also, I'm using Wear Aware app for being notified on watch if phone is missing, but starting with Lollipop, I have 5 ou 6 false alert each day.
I was working perfectly with KitKat.
May be it is the Wear aware app. I'll try another one.
Maybe 5.0.1 on phone will fix this when it will be available.
For now, our nexus 5 only have 5.0 (https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images)
Anybody found a solution for this?
I have a possible work around but need help with tasker.
I set up a profile for when connected by bluetooth so that the ringer is off and vibrate is off but because off lollipop it does not work. Think it's the do not disturb option.
In my phones setting-lg g3- i can create a vibrating pattern that is a split second long and really weak.
What i need help with is how to recreate this in tasker. I.e is there a way of changing vibration strength in tasker and pattern.
If so we will be able to create this work around until a offical option is available.
Merry Christmas
Phil
Update;
Couldn't find a way of doing it through tasker despite asking on the relevant forums and hours messing around. Think tasker needs a few tweaks to allow these options to work on lollipop.
Although i found a app that works. I can set a rule to put my phone on silent but the watch still vibrates and visa versa when not connected.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fancy01.myprofiles
Hope this helps, I'm going to do a few more rules for Wi-Fi, location etc using this app.
Cheers
Phil
I got the watch for Christmas and I have the same issue. My Gmail is muted, but the phone rings and all the other notifications sound off. I have a Nexus 5 running Lollipop 5.01 with the newest version of Wear and 5.01 on the watch. I'll be monitoring this thread for updates...

The link in my post above yours is to a profile managing app that does what is required. I'm not sure if the free version works as i can't remember but paid one does.
I created a profile that mutes ringtone, no vibrate with a rule that activates the profile when connected to bluetooth device.
It switches notifications on the watch to priority so don't change that as it will make the phone start ringing/vibrate.
Work around that works
I have the same issue. Here what I do.
Android watch is connected and set to mute apps
Tap the volume rocker (for me nexus 6) and you'll see it says muted. For my work day I leave it on all.
Tap the bell icon and the phone will be put on vibrate. It's working great for the moment.
Best work around I have found.
The issues has returned for me on the latest version of the Wear app....

Ok Google -> Send Text-> Fails if my phone screen is not on

So, haven't had much time to play and learn yet, and this is my first smart watch. But I did try sending emails and text via the watch. If my screen is on, it works, if it is off it fails.
My phone is a Note 4, with an MM Rom. I'm wondering if Doze or something is the problem.
When I was setting up the app, it did go through an option to let the Zen software run in the background, and I allowed that.
Any thoughts?

I am not sure if I really understand your question.. are you talking about phone screen or watch screen?
Also for notifications like text you don't need to have Zenwatch app at all, its a core feature of AW. I am using it (& Moto 360 gen 1 before) with my S7 on MM and doze shouldn't cause any issue.
Ah, I just read the thread title, it gives more info
I would say factory reset your watch from the Android Wear app on the phone and try to pair again. I have done it a bunch of times with my Moto 360 but haven't tried with this one yet. It should work though, I'll try on mine and report back.

Well, I reset my watch. I still get the message "Try again on your phone" . But, I found that the email in fact did send. So not sure what's up with that. Will be interesting to see what you find.
Oh, another thing. I find quite a delay between my phone ringing and it ringing at the watch. I'll have to do some experimentation, but I'm not sure it will ring long enough for me to answer it at the watch. Not that I plan to do that much, but, anyway...seems like maybe the interaction time between the watch and phone is not very good.
Hey sorry for replying so late, but as expected, calls and texts work just as they should. Were you able to sort out issues on your end?
About the delay, I think there has always been a little delay for calls to show up on watch (at least that was the case with my moto 360), delay on this is the same. It does vary a little bit from time to time, sometimes it very little sometimes a bit longer but that's just wireless connectivity imo. But in no case its long enough that call would stop ringing and go to voicemail.

I need to do some testing with calls. I don't even know for sure how to answer at the watch.
I find that the watch gives me the error message, but does send the text.
I'm having real problems with my phone when hooked to the watch. I'm going to open a thread on that topic now.
I just got Android Wear 2.0 on my Zenwatch 3 and I'm sorry to say Assistant and gestures are lot worst now.
First of all, i'm italian, and Assistant poorly recognise italian lenguage.
I use to use smartwatch especially when i'm driving or when i'm on my work bike (i'm a pony express) so I need a device I can use touchless.
Wear 2.0 lost some gestures as the on to go ahead to funcion like "reply" or "delete" in messages (the ones used pushing down or pulling app your wirst) so now i must to touch the screen for everything.
About Assistant: i often use it to send Telegram messages just by telling Google Now (obviously in italian) "send Telegram message to SomeoneX" followed by the message instead.
Now, if i tell "Ok Google. Send a Message to (ex.) Mark" assistant shows me "to whom?"... anda I say "Mark"... "to whom?"... "MARK!"... "to Whom?"... IN A FU****G LOOP!
jUST i CAN'T USE MY SMARTWATCH WITHOUT MY HANDS ANYMORE!

Question Gw5 pro incoming call screen delay

Hi
Im using a gw5 pro lte connected to a s21+ over bt. Whenever i receive a call on the phone the watch starts ringing right away but the screen with the caller id appears after a minimum 5 sec to sometimes 10 sec. Even if i wake up the screen, the caller still appears after that time. All other notifications appear instantly. I could easily pick up my phone from the pocket and see who's calling rather than see it on my watch. I previously owned a s3 frontier, a gw 1, a gw 3 and none of them had this delay. Is this normal behaviour? If it is than it sucks... Any help is appreciated! I attached a video in wich the delay is about 5 sec...
strange, this doesn't happen to me. What software?
