Agreed. I am in the same boat as you

Again that can only be for tablets and not for N5.

That's only for tablets. Nexus 5 and other nexus devices will get lollipop in 'the following weeks'

*Design is a major focus for*Lollipop—the latest version of Android—which begins to roll out today.

As exciting as it is, I wanna see them post the source asap so our favorite devs can take a crack at this.

Yeah I know I'm wanting it and refreshing the dev page in case the source gets released.

The OTA is only for tablets!
Dev images should be posted today but nothing will roll out today for GSM/CDMA devices.
The OTA for the other nexus devices will come in the following weeks.

Next coming weeks could literally mean in the next 5 minutes to the next coming weeks. Plus Google doesn't give everyone the update at the same time. It takes weeks.

Oh the Nexus twitter account must be a spam account and that's why it had a huge verified check mark next to it.
Its been stated over and over by various sources including google that the OTA from today will only be for WiFi devices aka tablets.

It's cool either way, as long as it doesn't take 2 months or some'n than I can wait a couple of weeks. In such events like these, I'm glad that I chose to buy Nexus 5 instead of the usual Samsung/HTC as I did in the past.

You won't be getting any junk mail.
My signature would identify me as representing whohas.it, but I'll need 7 more posts before I can set that up.
Sign up information isn't shared, sold, etc. Yes, lots of sites/services say that, only some mean it. We're in the latter camp.
We haven't even sent out any housekeeping emails at this point, and likely won't until the Android mobile app is ready (soon hopefully).
And to other questions on the thread about whether whohas.it is monitoring the US play store only, the answer is yes. We have plans to add international versions of our service in the future, but we're not there yet. First quarter of 2013 is the current target, but that is by no means carved in stone.
I'm happy to answer any other questions if there are any.

TMo 5.1 update?

Sweet! I can't wait. I don't want S-OFF but I need root so I'm going to have to flash an RUU. I tested it last week. I flashed an RUU of that 5.31.25 update and it downloaded the OTA to 531.33 with no problems.
Pretty annoyed... This update seems to be made out of vapor.

I've been told by people who I know have been testing the 5.1 update that it's ready as well. It seems like it was pushed back again for an unnamed reason. Mo Versi has seemingly been inactive on twitter and Des said, "It could be today, tomorrow, or a couple of days."
This is annoying as ****. They keep delaying it day by day. It's fine if they announce it days or weeks prior that it'll be delayed but this is just playing with us.

Did Verizon get theirs on the 20th like planned? Because if we get ours after even them, that's just horrible.

This is for sure annoying. Been waiting to update my ROM seeing as how I'm gonna have to restore to stock to get the firmware anyway. Wish they could just stick with a date....oh well, guess I'll hope for the best tomorrow now

Yeah. I kinda meant the official July 29th date..
I gotta assume it'll be this week. Something must have happened last minute that stopped them, no matter what they were saying I think the intention was for them to release yesterday but there was a final hold up
Does anyone even know what the changes are besides the ones included in 5.1?

Totally agree. When there is a date mentioned, and it's now two days after that date something should be said by Mo.
The other guy has been trying to keep up with things, but his "last minute" obviously isn't on the same wave length as all of our definitions of the term.

I agree 100% with this. They're being purposefully vague. It would be easy to say, "Hey we discovered a last minute bug so it's on temporary hold." Their just blowing smoke our way trying to shut us up. I won't shut up though because my phone overheats for nothing. You can look at it wrong and it'll shoot up to 110°F.

Use the version you develop. Clearly that doesn't exist yet
Same thing every android release. It'll be out after the official release, and source code drops. Don't know how long it will take, but it'll get there. We had a very long wait for 5.0 because of massive changes, not to mention that every time he got it working on one dev version, it was broken as heck on the next dev version, so we just have to wait and see. Hope that explains it well enough. Better than a "When it's ready", or "none" answer everyone always gives.
The Nexus images are now live so I would guess the source won't be far behind it. Can someone comment on the number of changes to ART compared to Lollipop. From the surface it seems that Marshmallow should be 5.2 and not 6.0 but maybe all the changes are under the hood.
It is coming:
rovo89:
"In framework version 74, I have fixed some more incompatibilities which could lead to bootloops or crashes. I assume that most of these crash logs contained the string "Incompatible set properties", which is actually a consequence of previous method verification errors. It's hard to say which ROMs and devices were affected - but flashing the new version shouldn't hurt even if everything looks fine with older versions. If you do notice any issues and are sure that it's not caused by yourself, you have higher chances of getting them fixed if you open a detailed GitHub issue (usually I will need at least a full logcat).
I won't be able to work on Xposed for the next 2-3 weeks - no time for development, support or questions at all. If the rumors I have read are right, I should be ready just in time to start porting Xposed to M."

Remember, the reason why it took so long for an official version for android 5.0 was because lollipop uses ART environment and xposed whas always made for dalvik originally.
So I think it will take less time now.

I haven't been able to find it, only snarky comments from users here about how its obviously not done. I have checked all the stickeys in this forum as well as the development one...
I doubt you will get much info on progress, as users tend to hold any claims against developers... But I would have though there would be something official saying "its in progress" to try and help stop the inquiries.
Oh well, will be a nice surprise when it drops.

We all know it's coming eventually. Google announced it at the beginning of May, it's not news.
You claimed it started rolling out. It hasn't. The video doesn't support a claim that "it started."
