Using Odin back to stock? - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Haven't used Odin to go back to stock since I owned the galaxy s vibrant, haven't had a Samsung phone since. I need to go back to stock but the thread in "General" that's stickied doesn't have the directions or link to the file needed, unless I'm just blind and dumb. I seen a stock zip but not how to flash it using Odin. Would someone please link me or give a quick run down what to do? Thanks!

[Q] Updating from Android 2.2.1 to 2.3.3

Hello,
It is the first time when trying to change ROM on my galaxy s. Before I start I want to be sure I take the right steps.
First of all some info about my phone:
PDA version is I9000BUJS3
PHONE: I9000BUJS1
CSC: I9000GATLJS2
I downloaded the ROM via Check Fus Downloader from samsung:
CSC: I9000GATLJP5
Phone: I9000BUJP5
PDA: I9000BUJP7
All I need to do now is to run odin and select the .tar file in the PDA field, correct?
Code:
Procedure:
1.Open ODIN. (And close Kies, if you have it open. It is important to have ODIN open BEFORE connection the phone via USB!)
2.Select the PDA/Modem/CSC/.PIT files in Odin. (For kernel flashes, only PDA is required. For FW flashes, .PIT and at least a PDA is required. Some PDAs have Modem and CSC integrated. Make sure you have the correct .PIT file. Usually 512.pit)
3.Check the "Re-Partition" checkbox. (Only do this if you have separate packages for PDA, Modem and CSC! Don't do this for single PDA flashes or kernel flashes!)
4.Turn the phone into the download mode by pressing and holding VolumeDown+Home+Power.
5.Connect your phone with your computer and wait until the drivers are installed.
6.When the drivers are installed, click Start.
7.The phone will be flashed and once it’s finished, it will boot up. (Do NOT disconnect the usb-cable, remove the battery or otherwise interrupt this process!)
8.You have successfully flashed your phone.
My phone was sim locked when I bought it ( now is unlocked, i suppose it will stay unlocked after upgrading).
Thank you!
Be carefull to flash firmware your phone need to be sim unlocked and network unlocked.Lot of people dont check this.See the post about it.
[email protected]
your phone will stay unlocked
and your instructions above are fine
should that fail - you may need a 2.3 rom with all 3 files instead of the 1 .tar file

How to know for sure? And if will fail it will leave my device in an unstable state?
And another question: Does the bootloader for 2.2.1 work with 2.3 ?
I think you actually need the stock FroYo bootloader to upgrade to 2.3? I may be incorrect, don't quote me. 2.3.3 has its own bootloader I believe.

How to rollback from Gingerbread to Froyo?

Hi All!
Just upgraded today my Galaxy S from Froyo to Gingerbread and I'm not quite happy about it.
Is there any possibility to rollback Gingerbread to Froyo?
Any advise will be appreciated!
Yes, it's possible to rollback. It's little trickier though because the Gingerbread bootloader vs the Froyo bootloader.
You have to make sure your filesystem is RFS and not EXT4 (lagfixed). If it's stock and didn't convert then it's RFS.
Then make sure you can get into download mode (Vol Down + Home then power and hold). If you can, these are the general steps you have to do:
1) go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846913&highlight=stock and download the froyo stock firmware for your phone that comes with a froyo bootloader (this is very important because you'll be stuck in a boot loop if you run froyo on a gingerbread bootloader)
2) extract the file to a known directory
3) put your phone into download mode
4) start ODIN
5) plug in your phone while in download mode
6) check the options in ODIN like it shows in the picture under "How to flash with three files:" plus check "Phone bootloader update"
7) select the files you downloaded and select the proper PIT file (these are firmware dependant)
8) click start to flash
I say these are the general steps because I'm not sure which area you are in. If you can provide the current firmware you have by punching *#1234# in the dialer, we can give more specific infor.
PDA:I9000XFJV5
phone: I9000XXJVQ
CSC: I9000OROJV1
Build Info: Wed Jul 13 12:21:52 CEST 2011
Thanks a lot for advises!
Hmmm...that's weird are you sure this is right?
PDA:I9000XFJV5
How did you upgrade it to Gingerbread? Was it through ODIN?
Grab a stock froyo FW from samfirmware.com (plug in the pda, phone, pit, and csc files) and make sure you repartition it in Odin to wipe your phone clean.
Hopefully you should be all good after that...

What kind of files use to downgrade mobile firmware version ?

Hello, I have Samsung i9000 and at the moment I have 2.3.6 version firmware,
Baseband version - I9000XDJV1
Kernel version - 2.6.35.7-I9000XWJW5-CL1045879

Thanks indeed,
Ed
You have to use Odin and this file http://www.mediafire.com/?edl0ud20oxae25x this url drive you to a stock 2.3.5 rom who is probably compatible with your country.
I think you need to download the *JVS firmware, that corresponds at 2.3.5 firmware.
(add www) multiupload.nl/UQR3XQKJ22 <== Here there is an italian version of firmware, but i think that still work for latvia.
Istructions: (for odin)
0: Click on repartition
1: insert pit512 on pit
2: insert on pda CODE_I9000XXJVS_CL565837_REV03_user_low_ship
3: insert on phone MODEM_I9000XXJVS_REV_00_CL1059471
4: insert on csc GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVS
5: Reboot your galaxy S in download mode – Press at the same time:: Down Volume, Home + and power.
6: Open Odin and wait 30 sec, a yellow botton appear (COM:XX)
8: Click on start and wait the finish of the operation.
9: Enjoy your firmware!
You can read a guide for this forum.hdblog.it/f140/%5Bfirmware%5D-samsung-galaxy-s-i9000-xxjvs-2-3-5-disponibile-45547/
this guide should work, but wait, i search the right firmware for latvia.

There is only 2.3.5 for Europe, so just use the first one, as you seem to be on currently also using the European baseband

Use Odin 3.0.9 (What this member specifically used and I use it personally)
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23321874045862094
Boot your device into download mode
Flash these two files
Tell us if it succeeds or if it gives you an error, and if so what was the error?
Also you may want to flash a 5.1.1 ROM with that 5.1.1 Bootloader and modem.
If this doesn't work report back to us and maybe some more exotic stuff can work.
