[L5][E610/612]Guide for the ROOT/Unlock Bootloader/Install CWM-TWRP-Philz - Optimus L3, L5, L7 General

Hi guys!
I reckon many people knows this, but I'm starting this thread for ignorant people.
I'm not responsible for any error. Don't forget this: You must be careful, otherwise you can brick your device
Starting...
If you want to install custom recovery, you should unlock bootloader but to do this you must be rooted
HOW TO ROOT?
Download framaroot here for the root device. This app can root many device. --->> http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/framaroot/root-framaroot-one-click-apk-to-root-t2130276
Download and install it to your phone. Then click open. You should select "Install SuperSU" from above section then click "Gandalf". Other sections don't work on our devices. After click it, you should see this message "Succes SuperSU installed. Reboot!" if you see this message please restart your phone. Now you are ready for unlocking bootloader.
HOW TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADER?
If your device is E610, download E610.zip from attachment and extract E610.bin. If your device is E612, download from attachement E612.zip and extract E612.bin to your internal storage's root directory.
(/mnt/sdcard/ directory). Then, download "Terminal Emulator" from Google Play Store and open it. Type this commands. Please be careful! If you type wrong, you can brick your device!
FOR E610
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/E610.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5
FOR E612
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/E612.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5
SUCCES! You've unlocked your bootloader! Now we can install custom recovery.
HOW TO INSTALL CUSTOM RECOVERY?
Download custom recovery from atachement. What do you want. Then copy it to internal storage's root directory. (/mnt/sdcard/ directory)
Then type this commands: (This is same in both.)
FOR CWM RECOVERY
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/cwm-6.0.5.0.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17
FOR TWRP RECOVERY
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/twrp-2.8.0.0.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17
FOR PHILZ TOUCH RECOVERY
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/philz_6.58.7.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17
AND SUCCES! YOU CAN INSTALL ROM-APP-ANYTHING-ZIP FILE IN YOUR CUSTOM RECOVERY!
GOOD LUCK!

Nice work!

Thankssssssssss!
Thanks alot man! Worked like charm. Was just finding a way to do all the stuff without adb thing, and eureka! got it Keep up man!~ :good::good::good:

Hi, I have tried to install CWM in many different ways already (see this post), but when I try to enter recovery mode, only the two back/menu buttons briefly light up, and the phone goes dark again.
I have downloaded your e610.zip, and it contains the same files I already tried (found also in other .zips and .rars). Should this work for a phone that was already updated to 4.1.2 (stock ROM so far)?

I'm not sure, I've never worked for L5. This is just a guide for how-to. You may ask to the other ones or open a thread at Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting if you still haven't and wait for replys.
Good luck.

My E612 has some software problem. Somehow device remembered apps installed, settings, messages everything used once and now stuck on to it. Factory reset dosen't works. Everthing remains the same even after factory reseting. No root, bootloader locked. Complete stock. Any help is appreciated.

Flashing stock system over the current on your device might help you. You can search "firmware updating optimus l5"

Hello,
I have a LG L5 E612g and I followed this guide to unlock the bootloader (only that) and the result was that the phone boots like always, but after a while it reboots randomly. According to what I have read that is common when you use the wrong .bin. The thing is that there is not much information available about the differences between E612 and E612g (apparently it is a variant, maybe to South-America), and as a result I didn't know whether I should flash the e610.bin or the e612.bin. I tried the latter... and it failed.
What do you guys think? How can I revert to normal, do I have to flash the stock rom again? Should I try the e610.bin instead?

Which baseband you're on? I had same thing when I flashed baseband which doesn't match with my device model. Make you sure you're on v20 baseband. I'm hoping it occurs cause of this fault.

Please help root.

[Q] TWRP 2.5.0.0 Freezes after flashing recovery image

Hi.
Just tried to root my Htc one using this method: HTC One M7 How To ROOT EASIEST METHOD.
Unlocked the boot loader successfully.
Then downloaded newest TWRP Recovery Image openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-m7.img
Followed the instructions
One thing was suspicious when entering fast boot:
*** Tampered *** <- dont't know if it's good or no ?
*** Unlocked ***
On top of the screen It wasn't shown tampered only unlocked ?
But everythinh went well, entered recovery mode using image and install the superuser.
And reboot. The su app was there, but after checking on two apps - phone wasn't rooted.
So download old image from TWRP 2.5.0.0
And after flashing it and enter the screen when u see buttons Install, Wipe,Backup ...
the Screen it's Freezed. Swipe to Unlock is not working.
And after hitting the power button the home button and < Blinking.
Also fastboot is not working. [ waiting for device ] only.
So how to restart it so i can flash a newer image to try root it again ?
Or maybe something different is wrong ?
Thank's

It's not frozen, the old version uses different touchscreen drivers that why you can't press anything.
Use adb to reboot, and flash an up to date version of TWRP or CWM:
"adb reboot bootloader"
that will get you back to FASTBOOT USB.

Great that solved my problem. Thank U. Can't locate that button. But will try harder.
Now I'm trying to install busybox wchich is failed of course because life would be to easy.
Already dig out that this is probably the read write protection problem and to solve this need to add new kernel module
or change my custom rom.
For me better will be adding the module only to install busybox from this solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230341&page=3
But where find command prompt ? Should go to recovery mode ?
Or maybe install the custom rom to avoid future problems?
But which one ?

Didnt know about the busybox problem oops
Anyway, what's your goal? Custom ROM, Stock ROM, etc??
If you want to stay fully stock, you could use one of the "Guru Reset" ROMs: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/ (I believe those include superuser etc. which you can select during flashing in AROMA)
Otherwise, the custom ROMs out there are all great, it's all personal preference. They each have their own "pros and cons" IF we can say that, but they are all excellent.
You'll have to experiment to see which one works for you

[Q] Bootloop, can't push recovery etc

Hey everyone,
so I have an issue, I hate taking care of other peoples devices, but my dad asked me to root his Optimus 4x for him, so I did.. or at least I gave it a try.
I unlocked the bootloader, rooted it and tried to instal a custom recovery, with no success.
the OS the device had is 4.1.2 JB, and I tried to flash the ICS recovery, which caused a permanent bootloop.
luckily (I guess?) I can access the recovery (which is STOCK for some odd reason) but the device never boots back up when I restart it. I tried to wipe everything that the stock recovery allows me to, no success either. I tried to use the LG tool, I put the IMEI and hoped for the best - nope, it didnt help either. it kept on saying the device has disconnected.
SO I figured the way to go would be an adb flash of the right recovery and then flashing a custom ROM, but I cant push the recovery image to the sdcard, it says there's no such directory. this is the command I used:
adb push recovery.img /sdcard/recovery.img
I tried various combinations and at this point I'm kinda lost and confused. Perhaps some more-experienced people could give me a hand? I've spent 6 hours figuring this out
EDIT:
the only way of turning the device off is pulling the battery, I can use adb, and I tried to flash the wrong recovery accidently.
thanks

try to flash stock rom using KDZ method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723), that lets your device like new, and then try to start again, I recommend you to use lg p880 toolkit look into download section (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230934), and you can download CWM 6.0.4.5 and replace the recovery in files folder of p880 toolkit and get the latest recovery that allows you to instal the most recent ROM

No. As stated in the first post, I did in fact unlock the bootloader. I also confirmed it in the secret menu and it said "Unlock" which as I presume means the bootloader is unlocked.

I'm sorry i missed the first line, what got me was when you said you flashed recovery but it was still the same
The adb command to flash recovery is
1) adb reboot oem-unlock
2) fastboot flash recovery /path/toyour/recovery.img (not adb because you must use fastboot when in bootloader)

hey, thanks for your reply.
I assume the /path/toyour/recovery.img is a path on the phone, the thing is I cant copy it to the internal storage with adb for some odd, unknown reason (well the reason is the directory doesnt exist). I'll try to return to stock first, and I'll post the result.
thank you again
EDIT:
SOOO I managed to fix it and get it all to work the device boots up normally again thank you VERY much for all your kind help. I love you guys!!

[HELP] How to Install TWRP without PC.

Hello everyone,
I'm in a little trouble. I need to install custom recovery on my Xperia SP C5302 but I have no PC.
How can I install TWRP ( preferred ) / CWM/Philz on my device ? Is there any way ?
Thank You.
Note : There's a cyber cafe beside my house. But all their computers are running Windows XP.
If there's no way to install without PC then can I be able to install custom recovery on my device with Win XP ?
Thanks again.

Install a terminal emulator by Jake Pelvich from Play store.
Extract the official TWRP img from the TWRP fota zip, or, if you already downloaded an official img, put it into the root of your internal storage.
For ease of access, but still mnemonic, rename the img into "twrp.img"
Open your terminal emulator, and enter "su" and run. This will make the terminal to request root, as you're elevating the shell into root.
Now, we "dd" the TWRP image into your FOTA partition. Copy and run the following:
Code:
dd if=/storage/emulated/0/twrp.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/FOTAKernel bs=4096
Reboot to check if recovery is accessible after hitting volume up when LED lights up

What ROM are you using? You need a ROM that can boot a FOTAKernel recovery, and not all of them can (especially stock based ones, since stock by default doesn't allow this).
Ditto.
If you are not using a ROM that supports booting from TWRP, then I can't suggest a method to install other recoveries without a PC.
I do not say it is impossible though, but it'll take a lot of brain power, and moderate understanding of shell scripting in order to reverse engineer the other recoveries provided in the dev subforum.

Like already explained by Tomoms and me, you need a ROM that supports booting recovery from the FOTA partition in order for my explained method to work. You didn't also tell us which ROM you are using.
No, you dont need to flash your stock back. Leaving the FOTA partition replaced does no absolute harm at all.
If you flash stock, your bootloader will still remain unlocked. In order to relock, you will need to explicitly relock it, by using the relock bootloader option provided by flashtool. If you backed up your TA partition, restoring it will automatically relock your bootloader.

TWRP not working: D405

Dear all,
got a LG D405 with Android 5.0.2 and Version V20b here. Wanted to install LineageOS. First I enabled USB Debugging and rooted the device. Then I used ADB to flash the newest Version of TWRP (twrp-3.1.1-0-w7.img). I typed:
adb push twrp-3.1.1-0-w7.img /sdcard/twrp-w7.img
*then*
su (+granting rights on the phone)
dd if=/sdcard/twrp-w7.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
Then I shut down the phone and reboot using the key combinations (vol down + power).
After rebooting into recovery mode, nothing happens. I see a blue screen for a fraction of a second, then it goes black and off. Then I can restart the phone normally. How can I get a working TWRP? Thanks for any help!!!

No. Basically I follow this guide here:
lineageos.org/devices/w7/install
Now I read a lot here in the forum and think the guide there is very misleading and forgetting a lot of steps. I am very confused because the issue seems to be very complicated and there are so many different versions and solutions. Can someone please tell me which is *the* guide to follow for my phone (LG D405 with Android 5.0.2 and Version V20b)?

So there is no guide for this and the lineageos one is terrible. So what you have to do basically is get root. Unlock bootloader look around on xda and you have to get patched aboot for your device and stock rom version and flash it. Then flash twrp. With twrp wipe system cache and data partitions. Then flash lineageos and if you want root flash root zip. And if you want gapps flash that too then reboot and setup lineageos.
So, since my device is already rooted... Can I now just flash with a new aboot or do I have to install another stock? As my Version is V20b, this post here says I just can use V20a.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/help/aboot-zip-lg-d405-v20b-t3533401
Is this correct? Or do I have to get a totally different version first? If so, which one? My IMEI tells me this:
Model:LGD405
Suffix:ADEUOP
Latest Firmware40520B_00
I really appreciate any hints. Thank you.
EDIT:
Now I used this file here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54358527&postcount=2), Version 405_v20a with my v20b and it worked perfectly. After I followed this guide here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-guide-to-unlocking-bootloader-l90-t2852917) and could install LineageOS 14! Works!!!

So, since my device is already rooted... Can I now just flash with a new aboot or do I have to install another stock? As my Version is V20b, this post here says I just can use V20a.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/help/aboot-zip-lg-d405-v20b-t3533401
Is this correct? Or do I have to get a totally different version first? If so, which one? My IMEI tells me this:
Model:LGD405
Suffix:ADEUOP
Latest Firmware40520B_00
I really appreciate any hints. Thank you.

[Stock Rom] Huawei *Prague* PRA-xxxC432B182

[Stock Rom] Huawei (Prague) PRA-xxxC432B182
For restoring/ rescue your device.P8 Lite 2017 - PRA-LX1, LX2, LX3, LA-1
P9 Lite 2017
Nova Lite
Honor 8 Youth
Created and tested on this device:
Huawei P8 lite 2017 [PRAGUE]
Model number: PRA-LX1
Build number: PRA-LX1C432B182
free device
The PRA is extrem sensitiv.
Any unconsidered, unofficial intervention, don't forgive it.
Hundreds of users have already "bricked" their device.
The response to the dealers is enormous.
To restore your devices,
I'll provide a complete rom.
It is 100% functional and rooted with SuperSu.
It is to be applied to the device via TWRP restoring.
But it is also suitable for this purpose without an OTA update,
to get the current firmware.
Be sure to read the following instructions carefully.
You're doing it at your own risk!
Rom installation:
In the download folder:
2017-12-30-PRAstockB182root (zip)
there are 26 backup files compressed as Zip files.
After downloading, unpack all files individually into this directory. Then delete all zip's. Now copy the whole directory to your TWRP backup folder. Where your other backups are.
Now flash the stock recovery and perform a factoryreset.
Now flash TWRP and make a wipe of the data and system partitions in TWRP.
Then restore my backup and reboot.
The firmware and the kernel are already rooted.
If necessary, you can install Busybox.
If the device does not boot, the bootloader must be unlocked again with the Huawei unlockcode.
It is a little bit more work for you to unpack everything individually, but this way a faultless installation is possible.
I have tested the up- and download, unpacking and restoring several times. It works perfectly. The rom is bug free.
Now create a new TWRP backup
and remove all older backups from the TWRP backup folder, otherwise they could cause problems later.
Save it to another folder or to
USB-/Stick, or HD.
I would now like to make a few comments on the end of the year:
I've had the P8 lite 2017 for a year.
The first rooting was developed by me.
The SuperSu and the first rooted kernel,
enabled the developers
@Tecalote and KangVip.
TWRP was provided by the LineageOS team. Again and again I have added fresh rootings and roms.
Nevertheless, increased Bricks are not missing.
It took an enormous amount of time to find
help the users. Unfortunately, this didn't work out for everyone.
My recommendation:
Now set up your device completely. Then create a complete backup with the ingenious Huawei Backup App. Now you take the recovery back.
"fastboot flash recovery recovery. img"
Removes TWRP from your brain for the time being.
Your device is now perfect and the firmware is original. You also have root and the OTA update authorization. When OREO comes, you just wait until I announce the new rooting."
I wish you all the best for 2018.
WARNING !
If all this has worked on my device, it does not mean that it goes with everyone else. Follow exactly the instructions to prevent damage. The execution is your risk.
Never make a factory reset in TWRP. Brick !!! Wipes only in stock recovery.
NOTE: Despite careful preparation I can not guarantee that through the implementation of this Guidance does not create damage to the device or operating system, and therefore assume no liability for ensuing damage and malfunction of hardware and software! If you are still unsure, follow these steps: Only perform the procedure if any mentioned conditions (model number, Android version, etc.) apply to you or your device. Read the instructions carefully and completely, check unfamiliar terminology by google or xda. Downloaded files check for viruses. A backup of important settings and data make. The instructions do not perform, if you do not know what you're doing.
Thank you very much: @Tecalote, KangVip,Chainfire, Stephen (Stericson), Jmz Software, LinageOs team, JRummy, as well as.
Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.
Update 2017-12-31:
I removed the part "dual recovery".
The support on xda is finished.

I couldn't restore my phone. I followed all of your instructions and after restoring, when I reboot, the phone goes only in TWRP (no volume keys pressed). Any ideas on what I can do?
In any case thank you for the thread, it's good to have a well described procedure for these things
Restore your last backup and repeat the procedure.
Try this one first:
Root again with the SU (B182) from the download.
Tip for life: try not to trust random nerds on forums, offering "ROMs" and what they call "tutorials". Stick to the outlet which sold you the phone, and deal with them and/or the manufacturer, and you can't go far wrong.

I had the same situation. It's a bit tricky and you must really know, what you are doing
I rebooted to bootloader an repeated the oem unlock -> this caused a factory reset!!
I am on dual recovery and so I rebooted to twrp, repeated the restore with the b182 stock rom and could reboot to the system

UPDATE: I solved in another way, which is: booted to fastboot mode, restored the stock recoveries (recovery1 to recovery1, erecovery to recovery2), then the phone booted normally as it should have had. At that point I could reflash twrp to recovery1, but that is optional.
I think the phone tried to boot but having the wrong recovery in recovery2 slot caused problems (just a random hypothesis). Hope this helps

What you call erecocery is this the stock erecovery or is it prague311.img from ChinHon? If it is the stock erecovery, where can I find it for download?
Thanks a lot!

Hello!
I want to follow this guide, it should be fine for my Dual SIM Variant, right?
I have a problem with one file, that is 'version.emmc.win.md5.zip' that can't be downloaded from MEGA. Can someone please provide a working link for that file?
Also a doubt: when all the files will be ready my idea is to restore your TWRP backup, flash stock recovery then lock bootloader, to make it as near to stock as possible: will this work? I have another TWRP backup that is running on my phone, but if I lock the bootloader it won't start, if I unlock the bootloader there no problems at all.
Thanks for your interesting topic!

The link works perfectly. Thanks!
I can now give this stock ROM a try!
EDIT 1: I'm trying to install the ROM but I have a problem with TWRP: I launch the command 'fastboot flash recovery prague311.img' then boot to TWRP, but the touchsceen of the phone is unresponsive and I can't do anything to make it work. Have you got any suggestion?
EDIT 2: I made some mistakes here and there, but the TWRP booted and now I have the phone on your ROM Version! I'm trying to clean everything and do a clean install if I can...
EDIT 3: I've done a full phone clean by using the 'Factory Reset' option in 'Settings'... now the phone boots, but:
1. NFC/GPS are not working, they are blinking
2. FM Radio is not working (it says com.huawei.... and has an Android icon instead of the original icon)

To get the rom completely clean you do the following:
Go to my root thread section: Threadupdate: 2018-01-02 and work through the instructions. Then you have a perfect clean stock rom.

Your support is very helpful, thanks!
I have problems on the steps to reproduce, even after reading your guide :')
This is what I do:
1. Wipe Data/Factory Reset + Wipe cache with stock recovery
2. Flash TWRP
3. Open TWRP, clean data, system and also cache + dalvik
4. Reboot the phone to a fully working with B182, in English with Dual SIM fully recognised
5. What I have to do from now on to have a fully stock experience (remove custom Kernel, reflash stock recovery and erecover, re-lock bootloader and fully ready to Oreo)?
Can you please guide me?
Thanks and sorry for my problems, but I work with Nexus devices thare a bit more 'elastic' in flashing
The kernel is stock. You just have to flash the eRecovery and recovery. That's all.

Ok, thanks!
This is what I did before, but I can't do a factory reset due to the problems described (Radio FM not working, NFC not working).
I can't also relock the bootloader, because the phone will boot to erecovery (recovery2) and won't let me reach the boot of the ROM. Have you got any suggestion?
If leave it as it is now (unlocked bootloader with stock recovery1 and recovery2) will Oreo arrive without any problems?
Your support is awesome, thanks
If you now take my UPDATE.APP via dload the problems should be gone.

Sounds good!
If I flash the stock recovery, then update officially with an UPDATE.APP from SD Card everything should be ok.
Where can I find your UPDATE.APP? I didn't find it in your MEGA Folder
Thanks, again, for your incredible support!
