I think its a fake...
Nobody uses cwm in p7.
On xda i cant find anything.

It's fake on obviously add new says xda tutorial and that's nothing in this section on it or the other areas for our p7.
As above no cwm on p7 twm is what is used it seems, also he doesn't state model number remember there all imcompatible the roms as all the l10 people are unhappy that's no Dev emui 3 ROM or that device.
The kernel has only been recently released publicly for our devices and you will see any custom rom on this forum is a early test version.
The screenshot is edited KOT49H is the 4.4.2 build number lollipop uses something else and is a white background I'm running it on my nexus 10 right now.
Also emui 3.0 on 4.4 isn't out till next week.
I do hope huawei release a v5 lolipop rom but when or if they will announce it I don't know.
Allot of companies like to sell new devices than update them to the new versions.
These scams have been going round for years for many things not just android Roms where they take something and sightly edit it and put links behind a survey host.

If you need anymore proof it's a scam it has URL stuff to rewrite the article as you can see here on my attempt at a funny test.
http://www.lollipop-rom.org/mp3-/this-site-is-a-scam-dont-use-this-guide-to-update-6124.html
Also since yesterday when I sent a message inquiring about things the person quietly changed the screenshots and stuff from a black to white background based on my inquiry to fool people even more.
Just found out the comments are in an iframe from a totally different site as well as other things by looking at the site code.
Here is the WHOIS details of the site with contact details of the owner if anyone is wondering.
Going a google I found other sites linked to the email related to android etc and a forex scam thing.
Also a registered street address in indonesia connected to the accounts.
I have compiled some info and submitted it to google the best I can as there's no official way to submit this stuff.
So for now this thread can die until Huawei announces a proper lollipop version.

WM 6.1 is definitely official

Well I finally managed to get into the europe htc site and register under vrious product serial numbers, to get the link to download the WM 6.1 upgrade rom - so the rumors are correct
The only thing is, I played around with the 5th digit, and replaced with 1 and 2 and got dutch and danish options, but no english ! :-(
Anyone has suggestions on what digit will enable english language download ?

Seriously...who is doubting that this was official? HTC released it "officially" on May 23rd. There are no less that 1000 posts on this forum dealing with the official release.
In addition, it appears you are posting about how to scam a fake serial number to register a non-existent device.
Why you would want to do this I'm not sure, since the official WWE version has been posted numerous times among those 1000+ threads.
What I don't understand, is, if you have a "usa" version, why you would want to fool around with the ROM update anyway.
I guess I'm gettin' too old to fool around with bleeding edge stuff. I'll wait
until the dust settles, let at&t release one (if they ever do), or wait until XDA
gets a 100% stable release. Personally, the only issue I have with the tilt is
the slow switching from landscape to portrait mode. I don't watch videos, so that one isn't an issue.
Hat's off to you guys out there that play with these early releases.
There are threads about this in the ROM development forums and there are links in the Kaiser wiki on the Shipped ROMs page for all languages, including english. (See my sig for a quick link)

offer to all holders of the s5830i

Hello, I'm from the site 4pda.ru. We, all the owners of this device have on our site, the collection of signatures to update Official firmware to 2.3.7 or to 4.0. I want to invite you to join us, what would the developers from Samsung heard us and finally released the official version software. After the collection of signatures will be created the document, in which we announced his request and then send the document with an attached link to the company Samsung. here can look at our example. If you support our idea, then please choose the person who will be able to making the theme for the collection of signatures. Do not judge strictly for my English, I'm from Russia. If you have any questions, ask, I will try to answer.
Save Your Time
Hi.
Your "english" is really hard to understand
I've seen ideas like this one before.
Example - Unavailability of ICS on groubal.
I think corporations like Samsung don't give a s**t about what You want.
They just make money.
Ofcourse You can always try but is it worth it ?
I've heard that S5830i graphic chip is better than S5830's but it still doesn't have full working drivers..
If that's true then i don't think Samsung is going to do anything more for this device.
That's my opinion.

lollipop delayed and End of production for Nexus 5

...Google end production on nexus 5....
http://techpp.com/2014/11/05/nexus-5-discontinued/
..Nexus 5.0 update delayed until Nov.12..
http://www.androidpit.com/android-5-0-lollipop-update-delayed-on-nexus-range
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
from the same article that you posted about the n5 being discontinued..
Update: There’s a possibility that Google is stopping the production of only the 32GB version of Nexus 5, as the XDA user above was asking for a replacement of 32GB Nexus 5. We will be contacting LG/Google for clarification and will update this article accordingly.

End of production was to be expected from my point of view.
But "delayed" update was a quiet a surprise because I was expecting at the end of November.
I'm quiet happy that they will release OTA on 12th, that means the image will be up few days sooner.
Sent from my SM-T320 using XDA Free mobile app
Nah it will not end.
http://www.google.com/nexus/5/
The site says it all.
Yea... Wouldn't make sense to discontinue it, and take the effort to redo the Nexus 5 page showing it running Lollipop.
Come on guys, you know how it is. This is rumor season. A bunch of people just randomly show up to the forum to post something they probably saw on G+ or something. Take 99.99% of all of this stuff with a grain of salt. As for the N5, I'll believe it's discontinued when you can't buy it on the Play Store from a link that says get your NEW Nexus 5 here...
So, you're pointing to a blog that in turns points back to lively thread here in our very own forums... Needless to say the original XDA thread does a fine job of repudiating the idea that the N5 has been terminated -- for all the reasons noted in the above posts. Circular posts like this just feed the rumour mill and before long we all end up authoritatively on IBTimes!
Though the N5 portion of this thread seems redundant in light of the XDA source thread I'll add a further 2¢: The original complaint seems to be someone trying to RMA their device (specifics are lacking), If that's the case he/she would only be offered a refurbished unit as per Google policy. That wouldn't explain the explain the wording of the feedback from Google Play, but in that case I'd suggest it's little more than miscommunication. In fact, the wording of the Play email is rather unlike anything I've ever had back from Google/Play support.
Said thread / rumour began here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/nexus-5-wont-produced-anymore-t2921263/page2
EDIT: *sigh* Even the postponement item is a report on a rumour from another site. "Android Police claims to have learned that the over-the-air (OTA) update for Android 5.0 Lollipop has been postponed to until..." While AP is a very credible source (and this report has been thoroughly covered in the appropriate forum here already), linking to a repeat of a report is fairly useless unless the fresh take offers an actual fresh take with, ya know, with new details or insights.
What happened to official statements? Are they valid nowadays? Because Google hasn't officially declared anything regarding this... So why discuss it further?

Yep, this trend makes it appear as if there is a lot less content too. Plus like you mention I'm not reading 100 pages in a thread with a title I have no interest in.
Much easier to have more specific topics with several pages than broad topics with hundreds of pages where who knows what page the info I'm looking for might be on.

Well, if you had read the blog post that you cited regarding end of production you'd have seen that it was referring to (and linked to!) an XDA N6 thread. If, having realized this, you still felt there was a clear need to (re)post it here you could have - at least - linked directly to the original XDA thread.

And most here know that all L discussion goes in the L general or Q&A threads until it's officially released. Hence the reason every single L or Lollipop thread has been closed by the moderators.... In case you didn't see that trend. ?

I will point out that the 32GB is out of stock on the Nexus 5 minisite, but that just means out of stock, which means no backorderable stock, which could mean waiting on new manufacture. I actually believe that Google understands, as do I, that this phone is still very cutting edge; and at this price point, most certainly the best buy for the dollar on the market. I have the opportunity to get any new phone now with a company paid monthly bill on AT&T or Verizon. You know what? I'm gonna keep my N5 on Straight Talk. Call me a dummy but I can't find a phone I like more with the features I've grown attached to (wireless charging ftw), a brilliant high dpi screen, and a form factor that fits just right (any larger and I can't one-hand it on the subway while keeping my other hand on the railing). What really makes a phone feel new is a radically upgraded OS, and that's what I have now with my no-questions-asked free replacement refurb on Android 5.0. Thanks Google!
@KJ is right, plenty of threads to discuss this.

bootloader unlock

If we were somehow able to unlock the bootloader and install custom ROMs, would this solve the Google ban problem or is the device itself banned?

You should, in theory, be able to install opengapps if it came down to it.
There isn't an issue though as Google has already, on multiple occasions now, stated that current devices will not have their access revoked.

No, Google has said that all existing devices will be supported with security patches.

"Existing Huawei smartphone users will be able to update apps and push through security fixes, as well as update Google Play services."

Now let us talk about the difference of OS-Updates/Fixes and Application-Updates/Fixes.
It is a fact that newer Android Releases aswell as Security Updates for the P30 Pro are in jeopardy - not currently but atleast after the temporary license has been withdrawn.
Also Google removed the Mate 20 pro from the Android Q Beta:

Please read the post you've quoted, as well as all the other websites reporting on this.

Beta access is completely different.

In those links my Browser wasn't able to find the Text which you typed in while your Capslock was active.
And the tweet from Android only tells something about Apps and the Playstore, aswell as all other sites. They don't mention that Huawei Users will be able to get Android Q or further Android Versions <-- but that is the biggest point!
Nobody can guarantee if Huawei will provide us with a stable Android Q version. Especially since they announced that theywill provide/are working on their own Operating System.
Let's tackle things in the order you've posted them:
1- I didn't put them in quotation marks, as such it is not lifted directly from a website linked or otherwise (apart from now this one I supposed). It was a paraphrase of all the other websites reporting on the issue.
2- The tweet (along with other sites) state that all future security patches and updates will be made available.
3- Android Q is irrelevant at this point. Security patches are not equal to future OS versions. Android Pie will be supported up to a point, and will continue to receive security patches. The P30 Pro may never get Android Q, I don't recall it ever being promised that it would receive Android Q. If I'm incorrect, and it was promised, then please provide the information. As an extension of this, however, Android Q can still be provided to the P30 Pro through the AOSP which has also been stated in numerous articles and news stories - both linked above and not.
Finally, to reiterate for the people at the back (and this is a direct quote):
"Huawei will continue to provide security updates and after-sales services to all existing Huawei and Honor smartphone and tablet products, covering those that have been sold and that are still in stock globally."
This isn't from a particular link, but is from Huawei themselves. (a copy of this can be found at this link, as well as many others: https://www.standard.co.uk/tech/huawei-google-ban-mean-for-huawei-phone-owners-a4146211.html )
I don't know what is hard for people to understand about this, I really don't. This ban (until it is lifted, which is a whole other discussion) will only affect currently unreleased devices, all existing devices will continue to function as intended, with no disruption to service from either Google, Android or Huawei - something that has been directly stated by all 3 separate entities.
Would you like me to provide any more direct quotations on the matter? Alternatively please contact Huawei directly, as they will forward you on their official statement, as they have done to me and likely everyone else who has contacted them about their P30 Pro.
Regarding Android Q, although it was not technically 'promised', I think that it is expected when you purchase a flagship phone for a lot of money. I expect a lot of people would not have purchased the device if they knew that it would never be updated to newer future versions of Android. I certainly would not have.
I'm just hopeful that if it comes to it, Huawei will be able to use the AOSP code to provide us with Android Q.
Ultimately this is all irrelevant speculation (IMO) as Lord Trumpington is just using this as a power-play to try and strong arm a trade deal with China. Once the trade deal is finalised all trade blocks will be lifted and things will go back to normal.

root guide for sm-n960u

what guide should i follow for this phone to root it? android v10
You must be new here. I believe you have to be on Android 8 to be rooted and plus, it's pointless from what I read, anyways. For one, your phone will never fully charge and 2, I'd already inquired about it, the rooting process ends up not being dependable and your phone will no longer be a daily driver. So, the thought of it is a no for me.
I doubt there's even a way to go back to Android 8 and any necessary security patch levels.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...r-development/root-extreme-syndicate-t4043723
You don't have to be on oreo right now for it to work, you just need a combo firmware that uses the same bootloader revision as what you're currently on. You can currently get an oreo combo firmware up to revision 4. Basically it's a "modded" oreo firmware that uses the same bootloader version as newer firmwares.
Please change title or close this thread. Got me excited for nothing
Why close ? Its informative.
Now i know i need to sell my phone caz it cannot be rooted.
How ever, S8+ on 9.0 had root but some devices such as mine were turning into brick attempting to root them due to bootloader version conflict which was not identified by root method or person who wrote the method.
Bricked several S8+ phones attempting to root. Was too afraid to try my last one.
Hell, am not made of money buying phones every time root turns it into a brick where even EDL'ing wont fix it.

Yeah, don't trust random websites. They mostly contain generic procedures that are either vastly outdated or downright wrong.
I have a rooted N960U, and this is what it takes to get there:
To actually be able to root an N960U, you have to be on a software version with an Android security patch level of February 1, 2021 or older (if you look at the baseband version under software information in the About phone section under Settings, the 5th digit from the right should be a 7 or lower number). Anything newer than that is unrootable as far as I know. And for the rooting procedure, you have to unlock the bootloader first which currently requires a paid service as mentioned in the following post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...iers_fix_safetynet_aio.4217753/#post-85381639
Finlay someone giving useful info.
I looked at the sampwn website for unlocking service and i didnt like it.
It threw some kind of subscribe message at me covering entire page so i couldn't even see what the website is all about.
Then it constantly showing "someone purchased this or that" and opens a chat i dont want to see.
Those are 3 red flags for a fishy website so i have to pass.
I did how ever manage to look at the purchase process page and it was also full of red flags.
It was asking too much personal information.
It did not say what you are buying, how much you going to pay for it or what payment method is accepted.
Entire website has a theme of a scammer website, or at the very least it was built using those themes and thus it acts just like it.
Telegram, discord username required ? What if i dont have one ?
Do you want my password to my bank as well ?
Card number with expiration date and full name address and 3 security digits to pay ?
Are you F'ing serious ?
I dont know a single website that sell you stolen serial keys or cracked software that ask you this much information and claim "its required"
Besides, if there is a paid way, there must be a free way.
Who is this guy, owner of some sort of unlocking device ?
Whats the point of locking it if some lone wolf can unlock it anyway ?
Very sketchy.

Whatever method is being used to unlock the bootloader on these models has not been made public, so that's why there are only paid ways.
I can't speak for SamPWND as I used the first link with UNSAMLOCK, and the guy running it was quite helpful and did things quickly. But you do need to contact him through Telegram.
This is certainly not for everyone, so you really have to be sure you want it as it's a one-time, one device only thing. Otherwise, you'll have to look at the Exynos models or the international Snapdragon N9600 model for freely available bootloader unlocking and rooting methods.
SamPWND is a group on telegram i joined.
But i cant contact anyone there. All i get is what the owner posts.

That's pretty strange for a Telegram group. Check the UNSAMLOCK one then as that's the one I used and had no problems with.
But remember that only older software versions are eligible. If yours is later than February 2021, then you won't be able to do anything.

Afaneh has a good rep on XDA, for all I've seen. But I read you about Telegram, kinda irritrates me how it's taken away from the much more available xda forums. I could join, but like I was saying elsewhere just last night, I'm already way too "joined" as it is.
