How can i instal custom recovery on VS98024A (JDI panel) - Verizon LG G2

I have problem with custom recovery. When I try AutoRec and KitKat 24A freedom and I got random lines (in attachments)
Can I downgrade my soft or use "one click" tools or something like that? Or maybe can I do this manually using command line?
My system info in attechments.

Ioroot and then download autorec you can Google both its very simple no downgrade needed I am running android l right now

OK so what you need to do is download the lg flash tool and downgrade to 12b or 11a and then you won't have any issues at all

It may be a result of using the wrong kernel for your panel type, see this in the Autorec OP...
Having white lines issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51974589&postcount=281
To be sure, use this app to check your panel type, if it's JDI, follow the instructions in the link above. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2770769
Edit:The link was bad I posted before, try it now.

It makes it so you can flash recovery? I had the exact same issue that he is having as well as about 300 other people.... You have to downgrade to jellybean then take the ota to kitkat 24a then flash autorec after that you need to download the 24a bootstack flash it and then you will be able to flash 24a ROMs BUT ALSO will then be able to just change modems if you want to try a ROM like the one I'm on lollipop 5.0 to 12b modem read the forums and if someone tells you to do something else other than this don't listen ask around to the people that know what there doing you'll just end up with a brick and have to use lg flash tools anyways lol good luck!

You need to use Autorec to install TWRP, boot into TWRP, flash the kernel for white line issue. You can confirm beforehand if you have a JDI panel using the app I linked above if you want to be 100% sure that's what your problem is before doing these steps.
If you're currently stuck with white lines and can't see the screen, the only thing I can recommend is returning it to stock using the guide in the General section and starting over.

1. Flash stock rom kdz.
2. Root it.
3. Download kernel for jdi http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51974589&postcount=281
and copy to internal card.
4. Instal Flashify from market.
5. Install Autorec and run. On prompt to reboot to recovery - say no.
6. Run flashify and flash kernel from 3 step via twrp.
7. reboot.
8. wait while flashing kernel (....its all in lines... wait....)
...wait foк lock screen after boot or lock it manually by power on-off.
and it all ok... but boot process and recovery in lines.
if you install twrp app from market, you will be able to flash some roms.
...but this is all that I have achieved.

baseband
I stock up KDZ 27A for vs980 and then install another rom should take baseband 27A, I really enjoyed it bb so looking forward to helping the file to flash the baseband 27A through autorec
thank you
Tried twice so far. Was already running your 26A debloated. Flashed the ROM and got stuck on LG screen. Restored to your 26A. Then went back into recovery, flashed the 26A bootstack to be on the safe side. Rebooted, flashed 27A radio and then this 27A ROM. Reboot - stuck on LG screen again.
Any suggestions?

Interesting. Probaby need 27a bootstack. Don't have that available yet. You'll probaby kdz or ita to 27a. Look for my 24a full stock restore and ota to 27a.
I think I will hold out for a 27a bootstack. I hate to have to start from scratch. I restored the 26A and will stick with it for now.
Thanks!

Anyone using this and Dorimanx kernel? I had to go back to the kernel included in this install to get rid of a ton of issues that I did not have on 26A. Lots of reboots and freezes. No issues now that I am back on the kernel that came with the ROM.

Are you talking about the 27A kernel? If so, you will have issues using other kernels; I think it has something to with the new hd call settings, etc. I tried other kernels as well, and it caused all kinds of issues like the ones you mentioned.
Right now I'm using the stock 27A kernel, but I modified it so my root status shows as "Unrooted" instead of "Rooted".
Does anybody know if the 27a bootstack is compatible with xdabbeb's vs982.5 rom?
EDIT: I'm not very patient so I flashed the modem zip. Worked fine. I have a null in baseband in phone settings, but I'm guessing that's because I didn't flash bootstack (might be rom compatibility also). Data and phone are working fine.
Thanks!

You have to extract the contents of the kdz using the extraction tool that was posted quite a while ago. Extract the .dz file from the .kdz, then from the .dz extract the boot_xxxxxx.bin (the x's are numbers I can't remember ) file, and rename it to boot.img...then you can flash it.

It makes my phone show as "Rooted" instead of "Unrooted" in Settings>About phone>Status>Rooting status. Most likely the security checks at boot weren't removed. I prefer VZW sees my status as Unrooted, rather than as Rooted.

[RESTORE] Factory Restore 24A zip

Here's a fast way to do a full factory restore so you can take an ota without erasing your internal storage.
This will not however remove the rooted message for a warrant claim.
Check MD5's before flashing.
Step 1: Flash Flash KK24a System Restore 1st.
Step 2: Flash KK24a Bootstack Restore 2nd.
Warning: You will loose your custom recovery after reboot.

Excellent, thank @MicroMod777. One more question; after I flash this, I'm unrooted, no custom recovery. If I root the 24a using ioroot25 (but not a custom recovery), will the root maintain through the updates to 27A? I recall reading somewhere on here that it did. Thanks for your work!!

Not really sure, but you can always use Stump Root on 27A. Can take up to 10 minutes for it to root through brute force:

Looks like they may have patched that in twrp recently.
https://github.com/omnirom/android_bootable_recovery/commit/78ab0c5807c17e343cc4fa9af86ea2d787e0e047
Though this could also just be for backups over 2gb... But they split those anyway.

LG took out the "root status" entry in the about phone status section. Am I right? I think other than a new UI that's the only good thing.

This is update from KitKat 4.4.4 to Lollipop 5.0. Download HERE
Thank You to : @thatbigmoose for posting .cfg file.. Orginal post here
Thanks
Side note - you need more bandwidth, it's a very slow download
Very slow 50 kb/s I have a gigabit connection. This will take 7-8 hours. Brings me back to the dial up days.

The original Google Drive link I posted https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bzdkih-mC2kxMGZnY3JZUUlFQnc/view?usp=sharing
Will either of these (zip or cfg) maintain root?

No, You will loose root by any method you choose to update to lollipop best to wait and see if root is even possible before updating. otherwise you may find yourself in the position of no root and no way to downgrade to 4.4.x

That's what I figured. I will just keep waiting to see if root is achieved/can be maintained.
I am uploading to my mediafire for a second dl location for those who are interested. If you want to keep root do not flash this file until a flashable version is available. If you want to flash this version do a backup with Kies so you can restore everything after you update. I did this many times before I rooted this device, it works.

How do you flash a Zip with odin? I'm still on 4.4.4 and I don't think my phone has 5.0 activated yet will probably take a few days but im on stock but rooted still, I will wait iguess but i downloaded that zip. But when It is able to root, but how do i flash it?
Has anyone seen this for the g870a active yet?

This will not work with ODIN, but you can use ADB sideload, instructions are HERE
Can you install the OTA if you still have 4.4.2 installed? i reflashed stock on my phone and it won't let me update to 4.4.4...keeps getting interrupted/failing.

There is update floating somewhere 4.4.2 to 4.4.4. Read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...to-root-g900aucu2aoa1-4-4-4-2-3-2015-t3021120
Just Quote from post i post link to :
"1. Should the OA1 ota update fail consider returning to factory stock NCE (all User Data will be lost) by flashing the G900A_Downgrade_to_NCE.tar using Odin's PDA slot(AP in Odin v3.09+) then taking the OTA updates to OA1. Or, place the G900A_NCE_to_NG3_OTA.zip and G900A_NG3_tA1_OTA.zip onto your ext-sdcard and sideload from stock recovery starting with the G900A_NCE_to_NG3_OTA.zip. Once updated to OA1 "
Do this. Links to download are provided at page i post link

[LG-H901] Stock ROM, Rooted, with Busybox

Thanks to Mikeyinid and TheJesus for providing the stock img files and flashable recovery zip. I used them more than once on my own device, and got frustrated at having to re-root it every time. To speed things up I decided to create a pre-rooted zip with busybox installed.
Feel free to use it as you see fit. If you format /system before you install this TWRP will warn you that there is no OS installed, but it's wrong, it will boot.

Flash this via TWRP, no wipe should be needed, but it can't hurt.
Forgive the stupid question, but this isn't a flashable stock ROM is it? New to LG so I'm not wanting to jack my phone up stupid.

No problem, it is flashable, almost stock. Check this thread for full stock, without busybox or root if you want to take an OTA update or something.

Almost stock? Are you saying this only because it has root and busybox? It does not overwrite recovery, correct?

yes, exactly. I'm just trying to be clear that it is not completely stock because there have been additional files added to the system image. It will not overwrite recovery, only reflash the system and boot partitions.

This is for the h901 which is the Tmo variant just fyi. So yeah you are good.
WiFi calling works fine. The only thing that breaks it sort off is installing xposed and that only breaks it if you don't have LTE at all. If at home you can use WiFi but it has to see LTE signal as well. If you are In. area with no LTE or if airlane mode on with just WiFi on it wont work.

You have to unlock your bootloader first by sending commands over adb after booting into fastboot then you'll have to download the twrp file and flash that over the stock recovery using adb again

just follow this link style right ?
Here is the link to the bootloader unlock/recovery/root thread.

I didn't use the nexus kit, I just installed the adb and fastboot drivers manually. Instructions are in the link I pasted. When installing the drivers, install them system wide, makes it a little easier. Also, download drivers for LG G4.
