I've got a problem: This tool can't decompile framework-res.apk, says it can't find it! How do I resolve this?

[BOOT ANIMATION][TUTORIAL] Manually add your Boot Animation for all android devices.

Android 5.0 Warning: If you're running a 5.0/5.0.1 ROM, bootanimations longer than 30 frames will cause you to bootloop because of the memory bug in Lollipop.

Nubia Z17 Lite boot animation different
The Z17 Lite may be different than most phones in that it uses some more sub directories.
Load you zip file to System/media/theme/bootup instead of system/media.
I also cut all the picture and txt files and moved them to system/media/theme so the media manage would not find them.

I fixed this by installing an order version of super su via twrp.
I needed to create a folder inside a system folder. Couldn't do it with either ES Explorer or X-plore. Root Explorer was the only app that did it.
I have the default root that comes with LineageOS

themes not working after rollback to MM

Hello,
I just rolled back from nougat to Marshmellow (B181).. But I noticed that some of the default apps of Huawei is missing and themes are not working.
I also tried wipe/ factory reset and install another custom rom (B152 which is oldest I can download) but it didn't work, either.
I have no idea about rooting etc. so whats the easiest solution for p9+ ?
1. Download hw_init.zip > https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24421527759882525
2. Unzip hw_init.zip
3. Copy folder hw_init to /data
4. Reboot
5. Apply themes
6. Enjoy
thank you for your answer. Before doing what you said, I was updating via emui from b152 to b180.
And it's corrected everything automaticly....
Thank you for your answer.

I too had this problem after rollback from VIE-L29 N (C605B354) to M (C636B202) . I was rooted and used root explorer to copy the files. The instructions I followed were similar to the above, but in addition, I had to set the permissions on the contents of /data/hw_init/system/themes to rw-r--r-- and place the theme I wanted to apply in that location. I am not able to successfully add any themes from the usual /HWThemes location, but If I copy the *.hwt file to /data/hw_init/system/themes it works.

this is my solution ( made by me ) after trying many solutions over this forum @ other forums
just
1- delete any folder for themes u made (as hw_init or themes in root folder or at any site )
2- make folder & name it ( HWTHemes ) in internal memory
3- download this folder & put it inside (HWTHemes )
4- go to themes app and chose ** Aqua theme ** & apply it
5- no need to change any permissions
this was try on huawei y 7 2017

how to get back themes when you ROOT

I rooted. My M10 now all themes is gone, anyone figure how to get it back? Ty
I think you need to go into settings, apps, find Theme app and clear cache & data
We need a hw_init folder from stock phone and place it back on rooted phone.
I have the ALP-L09 version mate only with the bootloader unlocked. If that way you are worth, tell me where I find that folder and how I extract it and upload it here

I use "Total commander" from playstore. Navigate to root/system then create a new folder (Press the three dot on the top right) and name it "themes". You need to change the folder permission to 755. Press and hold the folder until a dialogue appears and choose properties. Then press on RWX. You can then change the permission. You can then copy the hwt files to this folder and change the files permission to 644. You can download themes from (for mate 10 pro but works fine on regular mate 10):

Please check and make sure that folder permission is 755, hwt files permission is 644. The "themes" folder must be in the root/system folder. If this is the case and it does not work I do not have the answer.

You have another option: create the following folders in the root/data folder:
hw_init/version/region_comm/oversea/themes
You need to have five folders in this order unless you already have some of these folders. You then put the hwt files in the "themes" folder. Make sure all the folder have 755 permission and the hwt files have 644 permission. Good luck!
