[Q] quality of music in mi3 - Mi 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

how was the quality of music in mi3 I want to purchase that device?

By the built in speaker the quality is in the average. But if you want more, you can buy the xiaomi piston and turn on the equalizer for this headphone and the quality is awesome. Or of course, you can buy even better headphones. So, if you can, don't listen the music from the built in speaker and use some high-quality headphones.

SGS as HiFi audio player?

Anyone uses SGS1 to drive HQ speakers via HQ amplifier? Do you use voodoo sound?
Did at a party once. Designated music pumping computer suffered an accident during said party, i hooked up my phone to some jack and a usb port and saved the day (the night actually) lol.
Best i can tell you, speakers were a 5.1 Bose and think the amplifier was a sony but i can't give you anything more precise. We just wanted music so i wasn't paying attention to what equipment we had since it was really an improvised thing
But i can tell you this, worked GREAT! We did try someone's ipod but was quickly replaced, bass didn't seem right. Can't explain it better than this, it sounded like it was getting cut, like there wasn't enough power or something. Not so with the SGS + voodoo. After fiddling a bit with voodoo settings (bass mostly), sound was really impressive, much better than the original laptop. Voodoo helped massively, was a totally different dimension when active.
The soundcard on the Galaxy S is Wolfson WM8894 which is a very high end card that offers natural, even spectrum and superior lows, mids and highs while not over doing treble and fidelity.
Yes, they are pretty good at least in my opinion. The output of Galaxy S can actually pump of 20Hz lows with appropriate subwoofer where as most android phones and even new iPhones 3GS+ drops off.
Because HiFi speakers are generally sensitive, the Galaxy S doesn't have this "hissing" sound heard on 95%+ sound cards on the planet when activating codec, not even in a quite environment with 16ohm headphones. (my hearings are very sensitive)
I would recommend Galaxy S as a mobile device for plugging into HiFi speakers, but don't intend it to be a replacement very high end computer PCI soundcards
It would be interesting to compare it with, let's say, dedicated Pioneer DVD player? Or am I asking to much?
I do have am old CD from Denon - a high model. With this source I cannot compare sgs. But in comparison to iPod classic I find sound quality with voodoo better. Even a lot better.

Denon CD is really that much better? Highs, bass or just everything is worse? Could you try to play with voodoo equalizer? Maybe we could approach Denon?
OK. So basically it's DCD-1560. I'm using ONKYO amplifer A-7090 with upgraded wires + pair of speakers made for me by Poland company Argos Audio - very detailed ones.
CD: Control Denid - The Fragile Art of Existence. Track#4 - What if...?
SGS + Voodoo (flat equalizer): detailed sound, bass is equal through the all sounds, high sounds (cymbals) sounds good to me
Denon DCD-1560: Bass is deeper, clearer. High sounds are a bit more "crispy, bright". Mids are also a bit more clearer.
SGS had also not so good cable, and used MP3 (I don't have a FLAC version).
Summary: Denon CD is clearly better but I believe that SGS may be better in terms of sound quality than some basic CD players (maybe even some more expensive ones) DCD-1560 had a price over 650$ I believe.
Guys just use 4-segmented AV cable and go to TV-out mode (under display settings) now connect audio R/L only on your hifi system, you will notice improvement in sound quality. (like line-out mode) (You better disable TV-out mode when not using with hifi system)
use voodoo and neutron player !!!
And listen to pure audio quality.... just enjoy.....
yea why not
I'm using my phone for listening to Music on my 5.1 speakers (Stereo Sound ofc). I can't hear any difference to my HDMI-capable devices. There is no need to worry about the quality of sound with the Galaxy. SGS as audio player - yes!

Audio Quality

Can anyone compare the sound of Butt S with the QUALCOMM galaxy s4 and the htc one?Maybe tell me which sounds better or direct me to a test of butterfly's s audio quality.
I listened to Butterfly S and One. Butterfly S has a slightly better audio quality than One, especially on flac music (tested with my Sennheiser HD25-SP as I know its music tone). However, I still prefer listen to my Sony NW-HD5 player with Sennheiser HD25-SP.
IMHO, you won't hear any difference in sound with stock headphones.

Somethin' bad goin' on with jack

Hello, i bought 3T cause my Z2's cellular and wifi died. Today i plugged in the headphones from the Z2 (NC31E) and the audio quality is awful. Even if i turn off the enhacement option in settings its not much of a deal. When i push in the headphones only for 4 pins (black ring between 4-5 pin is same as the black plastic ring under jack on phone) it gets slightly better but some songs such as Sail by Awol sounds weird and some parts are missing from the playback. Any fix?
Sounds great for me, had no issues. Came from the Z3+ and audio quality is way better to me and louder. My AKG Y55, K551 and my old Sony's MDR-10RC all work flawlessly.
I use tidal and Poweramp for my personal music.
On my Z3+ I had to use my fiio a1 to get decent sound and EQ then purchased a fiio k1 USB DAC that I use to drive my higher ohm headphones.
So I would advise buying a new set of headphones as the cable or aux plug might be damaged. For a decent in ear and low budget I would recommend sound magic E10 or a set of Sony MDR-650AP. Some Sony noise cancelling headphones are proprietary to Xperia's
Also a good clean audio mod is https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/soundmod-ainur-audio-t3450516
There is one under atlant for the OP3, I had to use the hotfix cm/AOSP version after updating to nougat. It's clean no fake EQ or "black magic"
If you get some alcohol rub and a cotton bud you could clean the jack just for good measure.
Lengthy comment I'm no audiophile but a enjoy my music alot.

Thanks for your advice, the sony headphones of mine are ok, i use them for gaming on laptop with HQ DAC and Nahimic and they sound good, but i think that the oneplus cant handle the 5-pin jack :/ I checked the soundmagic e10 and they look good, i will also look for the OnePlus Silverbullets which ppl say that are great and fairly underpriced (i have the 5€ code)

I have OP3 & use following headphones/earphones
1. Sony XB30
2. MEE Electronics M6 Pro
3. 1More Tripple Driver
4. Audio Technica ATH AD900X
5. Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro's
I change between these according to my needs and the songs i listen.
Though as i told earlier, audio is subjective. Try before you buy
I'm using Xiaomy Hybrid Dual Driver, too, and think about switching to Xiaomi HDPro or Sony MDR EX-450AP.
Generally speaking I prefer earbuds (I.e. in-ear headsets) over other solutions because they give good isolation and immersive sound.
Curious to see what other suggestions will be given here...
I am using Skull candy headphones for my op3
I've got the Sony MDR 10Rc and the Sennheiser cx300

Imo the Sony sounds better. They are more expensive and they're headphones whereas the Sennheisers are earphones. I use the Sennheisers when I'm on the go and the Sony's when I'm at home listening to music or watching a show etc.
I am using Apple Ear pods, sound is good but the volume control buttons of the earphones are not working
I'm using apple ear pods they sound really good tbh.
I use SoundMagic E10's for my Earphones. For headphones I use Audio Technica ATH-M50X's both awesome and inexpensive
Thanks for the replies guys but what about OnePlus Icons Graphite (the new one)

I like the Bose SoundSport earbuds
I use for years some replica of big Beats. Sounds fine on 3 HTC phones & now on OnePlus 3.
i use mee audio mduo, xiaomi piston basic and a jvc ha-fx1x , i can tell the most balanced are the mduo, great bass and trebs, the jvc ones are too basshead, the pistons delivers a greater sound/placement comfort ratio (those thins doesn't fall off even when running), but overall experience gets powered up with a good player, i use poweramp with hi-res output (no eq or tone enabled) + stock eq set on general enhancement + metal preset, i know theese are budget earbuds but they seemed to offer great quality over more expensive ones (shure se 215), hope this helped you

Can u tell me more about these headphones? Im about to buy them, but I didnt find good reviews from it.
Or can someone suggest any cheaper BT In-Ears?

Poor sound quality output ?

Hi there..
I've just bought my X2 Pro and I'm so satisfied with it.
But the main point is the sound quality output is so poor and lakes the details,
I'm coming from Xiaomi Note 5 AI and the sound with my earphones Xiaomi Pro HD Hybrid was so awesome and high detailed (really HD Audio) and the clarity was so fine with it,
But when I plug the earphones with the X2 Pro I notice the big difference, it became so poor and distortion is visible like I bought cheap earphones or somethining
I tried hard with the Dolby Atmos settings but with no good
Please help me guys, I'm so disappointed!
Any help?
The output from the headphones is very low even if kept on full volume . I was using oppo f9 pro without any Dolby Atmos in it but still the output quality and sound was just up to the next level and m using same Sony in ear sports edition expensive headphones with X2 pro however very very disappointed . I think we should report this to realme and ask them to fix it in their next software update coz it's a Flagship device from realme and they have priced it close to OnePlus 7 series. I still regret not buying OnePlus 7 just to save some bucks.
Bought this street using the k20 pro. The audio at high volume has a lot of distortion and disturbance. Is it a software glitch? If so, can someone tell me how to solve this?
Amplifier sucks here, that's all. It's the same story with all these mid-range phones and budget flagships. They may have kept the headphone jack, but it's essentially useless for anybody who cares even a little bit about sound quality.
Get a $30 dongle and move on.
Contrarry to what you guys report. I am using Poweramp, with equalizer tweaked to my likings, output from the 3.5mm jack is phenomenal. I am using signature acoustics c12 with high res wav and flac file formats..cant comment about Atmos but yes the volume is just about adequate, not low but certainly not loud..
