Sounds - Nexus 6 Themes and Apps

These are some notification, alarm, ringtone, and UI sounds that I have been using for awhile.

NOT A FLASHABLE ZIP!
Unzip, and copy /paste to the appropriate folder in /system /media /audio. Reboot and they should be ready to use.
Someone else actually compiled these, I am just sharing.

Here are the alarm, notification, and UI sounds and original names directly off my N6. Ringtones were changed by me earlier, so they weren't included. Someone else will need to help with those. Just unzip for the individual folders.

Where is the Captain's Log notification sound stored?

In doing some ROM shuffling, I noticed that some have the Captain's Log notification (I use it for one email account), some ROMs don't have it.
So, I want to pull it from one of the ROMs that has it included - but I can't find it anywhere!
I've searched through /system, /system/media, /system/media/notifications, etc.
It doesn't appear to be in any of those directories, but it shows up in the list of notifications.
Does Android store these anywhere else??
im wonderin the same thing, best noti sound evar!
Its called F1_New_MMS.ogg in system/media/audio/notifications

[Q] Notification alerts

How do i get custom notification sounds to list? I have a few sounds in a folder i'd like to use, but when i go to pick the notification sounds for email or SMS, i cannot pick my sound. there are just the normal stock sounds to choose from.
I have also tried Ringdroid but i always get a FC.

You don't need Ringdroid.
Setup the following folders at the root of your memory card: alarms, notifications, ringtones
The tones held in these folders will list in the corresponding settings.
And there you have it. I knew it was simple. Thanks!

Actually, those need to go under a /media/ folder on your sdcard.

Need some info on Ui sound names

I just installed 24a and I'm modding my system ui tones back to what I had before and I can't seem to get the shut down tone to work and I wanted to see if someone could look on their phones and see if I have it named right
Edit** these can be found under system/media/audio/ui

The names look right, but your permissions look wrong.........should be rw-r--r-- not rw-rw----
Try changing the permissions to see if it works.
Good call on that, It still isn't working but it's something that slacked on

(How to with a few files) Changing lock and unlock sounds

I pulled a few files from my g3 for lock and unlock and they sound way better. No more clunk sound that seemed like it was a mistake. They are located in system/media/audio/ui.

Put these files in that folder and set permissions to rw-r--r-- (0644)
Save the old ones or replace em. Either way I warned you. Have fun.

Is that location where you got the g3 files from or where you replace them on the nexus 6? I can't see or access that location on my nexus 6...

On both phones. You need root and don't look under sd card look under system. Like this.
Very cool idea. Thanks OP
Awesome! If I wanted to replace them with some custom sounds of my own, is .ogg required or can I just use .wav files? I'm new here, thanks!

[Q] Sound volume button

Hey guys,
i got my nexus 6 today. I instantly rooted the device for titanium backup and stuff. Now i have one problem left. Is there a way to disable the sound when pressing the volume up or down button? On my other phone i simply had to rename/delete some sound files in "system/media/audio/ui". But there are no soundfiles like that. Some ROMs have an option to disable those sounds, but i didn't find something like this either. Is there any workaround for this?
No ideas how to fix this?

ROMs have this option. I believe Rastapop and some others have it. Its been a while wince I used Rastapop I'm running LS currently and I don't see the option.
With root access i think there has to be a way to locate these sound files and simply rename them or replace them with "empty" sound files. But even total commander couldn't find them while searching the whole system. I don't know the exact name so i searched for "*.ogg". There were files like camera focus or low battery.

What he said. I'm using euphoria and it has the feature. It's under settings to sound and notifications to other sounds.
