Download it from the play store and set it up. once you do that go into the settings within the app and enable tap to pay. you will have to turn on NFC and set it as your default tap to pay app, but it works just fine out of the box.

Indeed, it works great out of the box. Just disable "Softcard".

Can no longer install from "Unknown Sources"

This is probably something I've done that is really stupid but I can't figure it out. My Nexus 6 is completely stock. Just got it, haven't unlocked the bootloader and haven't rooted it.
I have gone to the Security settings and enabled "Unkonwn Sources". I have even install Fdroid after doing so.
I'm now trying to install other apps (Amazon app store, and others from fdroid) and I can't.
It opens the install screen, tells me all the permissions the app will use, and gives me the "Cancel" and "Install" buttons. However, I cannot press the "Install" button. The cancel buttons works fine, but not the install button.
Anyone know what I've done wrong?
Thanks in advance folks.

Are you using some kind of screen filter application? Try switching the phone to landscape and tap all areas of "Install"
If you're using a screen filter application, disable it and then try again.
In my experience, this is usually related to third party screen related apps that control screen brightness. In my case, lux creates this behavior, and needs to be disabled to install things. If you don't have a third party app like this installed, try temporarily disabling ambient display or auto brightness.

Thank you both for your answers.
"Lux" was the culprit. Darn.
I got really tired of pressing "Install". Did it so many times it wouldn't surprise me if there was a dent in my screen, lol.

You know the Amazon app store can also be accessed from the regular Amazon app, right? No need to sideload the Amazon App Store apk anymore

Google Play apps on child profile

Is it possible to share apps installed via the Google Play Store with a child profile? They work fine on my main (adult) profile, but I can only figure out how to share apps installed via the Amazon store with a child profile.

I really need this. I won't rebuy apps for the kids.
Does screen pinning work on the fire maybe a alternative if its possible

hoping somebody can find a way too do this . would be great since i have some google play apps i purchased for my son.
Now that we have root, you can download your app, back it up with titanium backup, then re-install it your child's profile.

Do you have more detailed instructions on how to achieve this? I assume we have to root the device first?

Before parting with the £4 for the pro version, will this definitely work? The Child Profile on the Amazon Fire looks heavily locked down and doesn't appear to use a normal launcher. I'm after getting Kodi on to the kids profiles but not having much luck so far. I'm rooted already and using Google Now as my launcher on the adult profiles.
Thanks
Mike

It is easily possible like this:
Install CM 12.1 --> Flash Gapps (Pico .zip) or install Amazon Appstore --> Install any/all apps you want --> Now go to settings app and create your childs profile --> Check any apps you want to share with your childs profile --> boot into kids profile --> PROFIT!

We are looking for a hack or workaround to use google purchased apps on the amazon child profiles

Are you able to get the app to "lock" so the kid can't just hit the home button and it exits the app?
I've tried a few different apps and they all require you to enable "Apps with usage access" in order to lock them, which you can't seem to access on the Fire.

Any way to do this with out flashing CM? Not possible on current 5.1.1 yet and really don't want to change it on my kids tablet. I see TiBu on the Amazon Store (but doesn't look like the real Dev and it costs $). I got them loaded on the adult profile, and I really don't want him to waste his time gaining levels again. Thanks.
---Just an FYI the Titanium Backup on the Amazon store seems legit (but my previous key didn't work with it). Still no luck because you cant restore without changing the settings to allow instillation from unknown sources which you cant do in the Kids Mode.
Also curious on installing Google play apps on kids profiles
Lollipop launcher works quite well. You can determine which apps to show in the drawer and lock down the main screen.

Is it accurate to say that no one has figured out how to do this in the amazon kids environment?

I tried it, but now Amazon doesn't allow you to change the launcher so the option to "lock" the home button doesn't work. It still works, but it shows an "action forbidden" screen, the shows the home screen for a few seconds, then re-launches the app. It's not an ideal solution, because a quick thinking youngster can simply launch the settings app in this interim period, and then go uninstall the app.
I just want to get YouTubeKids on my kids' profiles, but I'm not going to go through rooting etc. just for one app. For now, if they want to watch YouTubeKids, it must be at home where I can monitor it and I just log into my own profile and launch it.
I assume that it has something to do with those apps being linked somehow to amazon's app store, so if you figure out how to do that, then it may work.

i haven't, but the root process is quite simple - and is much better than worrying about amazon's lousy launcher. especially since it still shows my wife's trashy books along with my kids books.

I just can not make the app short cut on the home page or the app icon inside the app drawer open the app. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling....but same thing.
I am also using Nova Launcher .....could that be why the app icon wont trigger the app from staring up?

Where did you find that? I don't see any such settings in my "Google account area".
This app will tell you whether or not it's due to your device failing Google Play Services' SafetyNet API. Android pay will only work if the result is Green

Awesome app.....thanks so much for that StykerB. It says my Google Play services connection failed....
I cleared the cache from Google Play Services and Google Play Store....still wont allow the Android Pay Icon on my home screen and the one in the app drawer to work.
But I CAN OPEN the Android Pay app and use it when I open from the Settings>Google> Android Pay scenario. Odd...what is causing the app icons to error out?

I had a similar type of error at some point and what ended up fixing it was uninstalling updates from Google play services rebooting and letting it reupdate itself

Thanks! Unfortunately mine is grayed out with only the option to add cards, because I still haven't been able to get Android Pay set up.
Mine didn't start working until I reflashed 100% complete stock.. I used the wugz tool kit and reflashed to 100% stock.. I still have an open bootloader though.. I had to turn off Google play services reboot then it automatically updated and boom worked.. I didn't even loose my data..

If you didn't lose data, I assume you used Wugz ‘Flash Stock + Unroot’ with ‘No Wipe Mode’, which "preserves your userdata and cache". That is essentially how I got from 5.1.1 to 6.0 and then to 6.0.1 with fastboot.
How did you turn off Google play services? Disable and Force Stop are grayed out in Settings, Apps. I'm already at Google Play services 8.4.89, which is newer than the 7.3 that the Play Store shows. I think I'll give it a try...

Yes, I am rooted at the moment with Chainfire's systemless root 2.64. My plan is to reflash with fastboot, not root, activate Android Pay long enough to buy something and get my $20, and then root again. I still don't see any advantage to pulling out my phone to pay for something, when I can swipe a real card faster. I'm a sucker for free money though.

^^^^ well lookie there. I may just need to go into each piece of software and see if it can be removed. I ass-umed it couldn't as with this phone Facebook can't be uninstalled but only disabled.
Thanks!
If the Facebook app that came with the Note 8 can be uninstalled also please let me know how, it only give me the option to disable at the moment

You can only disable it. Or you can simply refuse to give it your login credentials, in which case, it can't really do anything.
Some apps are installed in the "system" partition and cannot be uninstalled. Some apps are installed by the Sprint store app and Samsung store app automatically, and those can be uninstalled

Change language is the trick. Worked flawless! Thank you.
Anyway to do this with some Xiaomi apps, like Music, Videos, etc? I'm thinking to root to disable them, and to install a 3rd part locator on system partition, because "Locate My Device" don't activate my SIM card.
