[Q] Xperia ZR screen/softkey issue - Sony Xperia ZR

Hello everyone!have been using my rooted xperia zr with stock ROM for a while now.Thing is the screen on the xperia zr seems to be malfunctioning only near the point of multitasking soft key.It keeps on activating on its own and keeps switching to the view where all the running apps are shown interfering with my work on the phone. This sometimes happens like 20-30 times in a min.Is there any alternative to screen replacement since i am stuck in a remote place for a few months and have no direct access to repair stores. Can i remove/disable the multitasking soft key ? And by remove i mean curb the function of that soft key?or hide it permanently until i can get it repaired? Please help me out anyone because i cant use my phone now because of this issue.
Thank you.

Install Xposed, and then GravityBox. You can set the recent key to do nothing, and long press one of the other keys to go to recents.

[Q] Xperia Enter Button

Hi, I have developed a BIG problem today with my X1. A button (enter button) keeps going off as soon as I start the phone. I have tried to flash a new ROM however this did no good. Its going to be a hardware problem. I managed to install AEBPlus to try and disable the button, however the phone is too fast for me and I cannot get to the right screen to disable it. Short of that I have run out of ideas as to the cause/solution to my problem. Any ideas?
Thanks Hornet

[Q] samsung galaxy s home button not working

Hi
I think i may have got some water damage on my phone. My home button has stopped working but the other two at either side of it are still fine. The thing is i can still use it to get into recovery.download mode. Has anyone had this problem? Is there anything i can do?
I have been reading about a softkey that can be used if home button dead. Is that a program or part of a rom?
Thanks in advance
James
Slim Bean rom has soft keys, such as Home, available.

[Q] My Xperia Z is controlling itself

Hi guys,
I recently got my Xperia Z back from repair. I had it in because when I pressed the power button to unlock it, sometimes the screen would stay black and I wouldn't be able to see anything, but I could still use the touchscreen.
So I got my phone back with a new LCD screen and it's been a week now and it hasn't had that problem at all, but I'm having another problem.
My phone is randomly controlling itself. When I unlock it, every once and a while it starts pressing all the buttons on the screen. Opening up the task manager, swiping left and right, opening up the camera, etc. Just going completely haywire.
So to fix it, I tried a factory reset, but that didn't work. Then I got a new update for android, and for about a day it worked perfectly but now it's back at it again and controlling itself, pressing all the buttons etc. I had an alarm set this morning and I couldn't even turn it off because of it.
It's completely stock, I haven't even tried flashing or rooting or anything like that, and I'm running Android 4.4.4. Model number is C6603.
Anyone know what could be causing the problem?

there is some issue with touch calibration or some issue with the digitizer.

Well it happens before I even touch anything on the screen, so would that point to the problem being the digitizer?

The Return, Home and Tools Keys Doesn't Work!

The Return, Home and Tools Keys of my friend Xperia Z stopped working! The most amazing that when you turn the device horizontally, with the power button down, so that these keys are where would be the top of the unit, they work. I tried to format, install new FW with Full Wipe, pass anti-virus and the problem continues! There is no problem in touch because games and apps that use that space usually work!
Has anyone had this problem?

A friend's Xperia Z is showing the exact same symptoms. My first guess was also hardware issue like a defective touchscreen. Right now, I don't have a clue how to solve this problem.

Surely it is no problem on the touch screen, as when I turn the device, that part works normally! Already tested in games and when there those keys, the screen works normally!

Screen not working after some minutes

Hi everyone I've got a big problem with my wife's Mi 5. After some minutes/hours of usage the touchscreen stops working and the only solution the make it work again is to reboot the phone (by keeping the power off button pressed).
I've tried some rom (MIUI stable, MIUI dev, Paranoid Android 7.3.0) but all of them have the same problem, someone has got the same issue?
I think it's not only an hardware problem because the touchscreen works most of the time... Any ideas?
I'm having the exact same problem with my wife's Mi5 too. I thought she was talking rubbish until I started using the phone full time over the past few weeks.
Symptoms:
Screen switches on and accepts one touch event.
Screen is then unresponsive to touch events.
All other buttons (home, power, volume) all work OK.
All functions work OK (calling, SMS, etc) via remote control (MyPhoneExplorer)
Screen then becomes responsive again after reboot
Tried so far:
Clearing dalvik/cache
Clean flash - using MiFlash and China dev ROM
Opened phone, cleaned all ZIF connections and reconnected.
It almost feels like something in the touch firmware or driver crashes and does not reconnect - as the phone is clearly usable save for the touch panel.
I'm going to ask Bruno/bgcngm and see if there's anything I can do to try and diagnose the issue.

In my case unresponsive screen to touch events, all phisical button works and the only option to make it works again is to reboot. I didn't try to use it with some "remote" control.

I didn't try to open the phone, but I installed all roms with TWRP and format data/wipe cache/dalvik before.

I also think that it's related with a software issue...

I don't know who is Bruno/bgcngm but I hope he/she'll find a solution.
If you need some other information or help I'll give you as much as I can.
Well on my old mi4c i had similar problem. I mean sometimes when i pressed power button and tried to unlock it screen didn't work. For me solution was simply to press power button again to turn off screen and then turn IT on. Maybe this will help u. Have u try that ?

Do you think it's something related with Doze or standby? I think so because today (and yesterday and so on...) I wasn't able to turn off the wake up alarm (the phone was in standby with the screen off all night) with "the screen" but I have to force restart the phone with the button... and it's very annoying.
Maybe we can try with some Marshmallow ROM instead Nougat one.

I'm facing same issue.I've changed my display panels but it doesn't solve my problem.it is quite painfull.i don't know what should i do.
any update sir?
My MI 5 has a different issue. There is no response if I place the phone on the table, but it is fine if I held it. It seems the touch panel is only responsive when the sort of sensors that a human is holding the phone. I have no idea why it starts to happen in these weeks. This symptom happens even in TWRP, so I don't think it is related some particular ROM. Tried firmware 7.7.6 ~ 7.9.22 with no luck.
skip lock screen
Hi
I know I am late to the party, but just faced the same issue yesterday. To bypass the issue, follow the following steps
1. Restart your phone .
2. Enable developer options from about section in settings. (google enable developer options for specifics)
3. In developer options, there is an option to skip screen lock. Enable that.
4. Voila!!
Hope it will help other mi5 users..
Hi,
I had the same problem. I found this video and I tried to fix it. It worked pretty well. Bye
In a situation that I can't do any service for my Mi5 as of now - is this really loose cable thing ?
Can more folks confirm that this cable solution from above video works ?
exactly same symtoms :
Random screen freeze - only option is to reboot phone or phone goes rebooting randomly itself.
