For rooting in 3.0 Emui version you must change your recovery for a custom cwm recovery and install supersu.zip. It is very easy, is not it????
you can get them in the following link from XDADEVELOPERS, :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=6739#downloads
Warning:
Read a lot before performing any action to your device.

I downloaded the update.zip from a link. I am a new member, so xda
Doesnt allow me to post the link. see attached screen shot of my dload folder.
Does this require root to install this?
Currently my device is unroot.
(I have installed the emui 3.0 file manager) will this cause any problem?

Sorry but you made a mistake

According to your picture you placed the wrong file, the file says 32.11 MB, and the right file to do the update is 611 MB, it is an update.zip file. You do not need to root to do this since this is a factory update not custom update. I recommend you to put the file in the sdcard not in the internal card inside the carpet called /dload/.
This is the download link for the file you need to update to 3.0 EMUI BETA:
https://mega.co.nz/#!84E0wTTb!2WwLp9wvHlKDhGc3_lcq-L_4d5KPZW1WGx77ZDpX178
You're welcome

I have the file
I have that file named update.zip and of course it is 611mb. I copied that to dload folder. But when I go to local update it says no file.

Do not worry, it seems the file when it is installed disappeared from /dload/ folder. You must put it again there to perform the installation. :good:

While my LG Black doesn't arrive I don't have a way to toy around with it since KDZ files come with a WDB inside (which can't be unpacked) unlike the DZ file used before.
That being said, can anyone get me a nandroid .img files?
In practice I only need boot.img and system.img but I'm a bit curious about the rest so I'd appreciate if anyone could zip them all, upload them somewhere (multiupload.com) and post here the link.
For a nandroid backup, you need cwm installed (follow the tutorial in this section), then you just need to boot into the custom recovery (use AnReboot for example) and pick backup. Afterwards, you can find the backup files in internal or external sdcard on /clockworkmod.
Thanks.

hey dude ,can you please share how were you got the img files ?through dd command or convert .kdz file ?
I got the img files by doing a backup with cwm. Just install cwm as it is discribed in the tutorial and go to recovery mode using anreboot. Choose the backup option at recovery UI. After that open your sdcard/clockworkmod and get the img files and thats it.

Like I've written in the first post, P970's KDZ files don't have a DZ inside but a WDB which can't be unpacked.
So that guide won't work.

Here's the google translate translation for this (saved time for you).
"1 Extract the official ROM
Download the official rom tools required:
Visitors, if you want to view hidden content please reply to this post
1) Download the tool to extract to any folder
I have the tools in "D: \ KDZtools" under
2) Extract the KDZ file, for example here in Hong Kong line V10A
Will V10A_00.kdz into any folder, where I put "D: \ ROM" folder.
Run KDZtools inside KP500-Utils-EN.exe, input i, carriage return (to extract files from KDZ)
Enter KDZ files, D: \ ROM \ V10A_00.kdz, Enter
The same directory to find V10A_00.cab file, extract the CAB file to get dz file, Hong Kong Bank V10A as: LGP500AT-00-V10a-454-XX-OCT-05-2010 +0- DZ.dz
3) Extract the files DZ
Extract the files need to use DZExtract.exe DZ
In the command line into the ROM folder: cd D: \ ROM
In the command line, enter D: \ KDZtools \ DZExtract.exe-x LGP500AT-00-V10a-454-XX-OCT-05-2010 +0- DZ.dz
Completed in the current folder will be a lot of files, which boot.img, system.mbn_0, system.mbn_1, system.mbn_2 we need the file.
4) merge and extract system.mbn
System.mbn to extract three files must first be combined to continue the command line, enter: copy / b system.mbn_0 + system.mbn_1 + system.mbn_2 system.mbn
Will system.mbn to a new folder, for example D: \ ROM \ system, enter the command: D: \ KDZtools \ unyaffsmbn.exe system.mbn
After completion of the official rom will be in system directory of all files, then you can delete system.mbn the.
5) Production of basic rom package
With 7-zip or winrar and other tools to create a zip format compressed archive
Step 3 will be the boot.img and 4 together to get the system folder into the directory with the compressed package to save.
Note: v10e, v10b etc. 2.2.1 version of the rom can not require special handling or root, as follows:
system / bin folder, delete all the file size of 28 bytes of system files.
Here we have a base rom package, you can begin to develop after a rom.
(2) customize their own ROM
Here you can own the "custom ROM" gorilla in the kitchen area to use the system"

LGNPST 1.3 Developer Edition For XDA
*DO NOT HOST/LINK/REPOST/OR ANYTHING ELSE OUT SIDE OF XDA* WITH OUT MY PERMISSION
[Questions]
Q.) Where is the Right Click Register ?
A.) I recompiled it into the installer, it will automatically install when installing LGNPST
Q.) Is the Right Click Register any different then the one I already have ?
Q.) I don't see the Register DLL in my right click menu.
A.) Most likely the right click register that you got/download/received originally came from me in the first place, this version is newer and updated. This version will install a new menu and ONLY register on dlls that can be registered, it does not show in your right click menu the whole time like the old version. It will only show when right clicking on a valid Active X dll or OCX file.
Q.) Should I remove the old LGNPST ?
A.) Yes remove all old version of LGNPST.
Q.) Can I upgrade my phone that use a .tot with this?
A.) Yes you can, VERY EASILY. You must first change the menu. To do this click (Tool) at the top menu. Click (Show Only Old UI). You will notice the upgrade tab will switch from asking for a .CAB file to a .BIN file. Just click on the little folder icon and change the FILE TYPE to .TOT, then select your .TOT file. No need for having to do any hacks or *.* or using the WRONG method to update the device.

Thanks for posting this!
I need help!!!! I think I soft/hard bricked my phone. I'm not sure since I can only get into Download mode. I have the .bin file and LGNPST v 1.3 and after all is in the right place and I hit start I get the ERROR: Unable loading Port Component. What does that mean??? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I just had to pick this old phone and use it again and need to return to stock. It's been a really long time since I played with this phone. I can't find any instructions on using this (LGNPST 1.3) I have already deleted my old version. Are there files I need to download or does this version have everything needed included in it? Any help is very much appreciated.

You're not actually looking for a .bin file, TaviRawr...
When you get to that point where it asks you to select a .bin file, the windows open dialog box should open up.
Navigate to the folder where you have the .tot file downloaded...
In the box for file name, type *.tot and hit enter.
Now you should have a listing of the .tot file you downloaded. Click it and hit ok.
Then you should be able to flash your phone to stock.

I'm surprised that the directions don't suggest the Models folder...
Try this...
Go to wherever you have the LGNPST application installed.. For me, it was C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST
Make sure the program is currently closed...
You should have a list of folders and files, such as Components 4.0 and stuff like that ...
Right click and create a new folder and name it Models
Wherever your .dll fild is, the lgnpst_ms970.dll or whatever it's called is, copy it into the Models folder you just created..
Then, assuming you're using Windows Vista/7/8, navigate back up to the LGNPST folder and right click LGNPST.exe (it might say LGNPST if you have extensions hidden for known file types), and run as Administrator...
Now, when you plug your phone in, make sure it is set to Internet Connection and Debugging is on.
The program should automatically detect your phone and the .DLL model...
I'll link to a video (sorry, no audio yet) that gives you a visual briefly.
http://www.mediafire.com/?g3iccvdvmk0kvdc
It's about 85 mb...
Let me know if you have any other questions if this doesn't help.
I will try this and tell you what happens. Thank you.

Thanks nice
The thread title seems a little misleading to new or foreign language users, to do a update of stock all you need to do is put the update.app file in a folder called dload and load up the inbuilt recovery.
I can see you are trying to create a customised stock rom that can be installed via custom recoveries and the thread title should reflect that.
When I saw the thread I thought you posted a guide on how to install a stock rom to the device, instead of a guide on how to create a twrp or cwm compatible rom from a stock rom, which I can see you are still trying to figure out from your post in the other thread.

update_data_full_hw_la.zip how to install?

Hi Everyone!
I followed the instructions to upgrade to Nougat from MM, this includes a file named update_data_full_hw_la.zip
http://ministryofsolutions.com/2017/01/huawei-p9-plus-vie-l29-nougat-b354-latin-america.html
The step that I cant seem to install this file, I tried:
Renaming file to update.zip and try to apply it through forced update (DIDNT WORK)
Extract all the content into dload folder (DIDNT WORK)
The content has an UPDATE.APP file and multiple folders. The forced update goes really fast and does not seem to install anything.
The ROM itself does not have many apps so I guess this zip should have everything else that is missing from the ROM but I cant seem to install it properly.
Any help on this? How am I supposed to install it?

try the alternative method:
Alternative Method
Remove update files from your phone, if you have copied before
Download Huawei updater from This Link
Download latest Hisuite from official huawei website
Open huawei update, tick in custom rom, in custom rom version type VIE-L29C605B354
In Custom rom URL copy this link http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1257/g104/v71996/f1/
Then tick custome port, don’t change it.
now connect your phone with pc and make sure Hisuite recognize and connected properly. then just open Hisuite menu and change network settings as shown in image below.
Easy-Nougat-Update-2.png
Then in hisuite click check for update
it should start downloading and installing firmware
Thanks, but that method won't work as the ROM itself was already applied, therefore, HiSuite returns a message saying that I'm on the most updated version.
The file m trying to apply should contain apps like the calculator, Bluetooth, compass, etc. These apps are not part of the ROM but they come on a separate zip file.
The issue seems to be that apps are not compatible with the Nougat ROM already installed.
Any other thoughts?
If any of you has an update zip containing all remaining apps, please share!
The problem u are facing could be 2. Cust and oeminfo but fitting the package and /of rom. And the two packages need to be installed immediately with starting with the hw update, after that the normal one. Tell me which version and cust we are talking about?

[MOD] NavBar Gone. ( Root ) February update

I get a lot of requests to remove the NavBar. I'm posting this mod at each phone's forum themes section. TWRP flashable zip. Restore zip will be created in a folder named ozop on your sdcard.
8.1 February update
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850494336
8.0 November update
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=817906626617946322
8.1 preview
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745849072291689241
Installation instructions for those of you that have root, but do not have TWRP. Busybox must be installed first.
1. Download the enclosed vrthemeADBversion zip and readme.txt for copying and pasting purposes.
2. Unzip the vrthemeADBversion zip to your sdcard. Rename folder to vrtheme
3. Put the readme.txt on your PC where you use adb.
4. Download appropriate NavBar Gone zip. Unzip and copy the system folder that is inside the vrtheme folder to the root of your sdcard.
5. On the root folder of your phone, find the data folder and create a folder inside it named tmp
6. Copy the vrtheme folder you earlier extracted to your sdcard to newly created data/tmp folder (/data/tmp/vrtheme)
7. On PC, with your phone connected and in file transfer mode, open CMD prompt and type "adb devices" without quotes. If your serial number comes up you can proceed.
8. Copy and paste the command lines from the readme.txt (include quotes)
adb shell su -c "mount -o rw,remount /system"
Hit enter
First time you will be promoted by SuperSU to give adb permission.
Copy and paste the second line in readme.txt
adb shell su -c sh /data/tmp/vrtheme/installtheme.sh
There is also a Mod installer zip. If on Windows operating system you can unzip it where adb is running and run the bat file instead of typing or copying and pasting the commands.
Wait until everything runs, after a pause of a few seconds your phone will reboot and your NavBar should be gone.

They are the same. Easier to add files from AFH to keep track of and because of the 20mb limit but this one was under 20mb and I was having trouble at the time with AFH. Names are different I believe but same thing.

I just correct it ? i am working to upload the files you told me , I even know how to do that but i will use google to find the files you told me then i will pit them in a winrar file then i will upload it via google drive , thanks in advance ?
I didn't had BusyBox installed, busybox always caused bootloops but ur mods.zip from other forum worked just fine. Navbar is gone. No bugs or nothing.
It worked for me without busybox...strange Anyway thanks bud!!
@Tulsadiver Good day, i am unable to make this mod work with Oreo 8.1 December security update. I haven't tried it with the latest security patch because i am waiting for the February update.
Anyway i tried both methods the TWRP and the CMD one. After looking at the code it seems there are two issues one there is a directory issue instead of sdcard/system it should be /system since from the CMD log its reports it can't locate it so i did the change and that worked at the first stage but when it came to theme the framework or apply the changes it seems it couldn't locate the needed files.
Anyway i ended in 2 boot-loops after trying the zip version and after i did the change to the directory.
By the way i am using Magisk for root, and i have installed busybox but the i had to change the directory to bin instead of xbin on Oreo.
Thanks.

First of all, this is for the November update. Secondly, if you read the instructions correctly, you were to copy the system folder to your sdcard, hence, /sdcard/system
I have an Aroma installer that has Navbar gone in it but it is for January update.

Actually based on the instruction you stated:
5. On the root folder of your phone, find the data folder and create a folder inside it named tmp
6. Copy the vrtheme folder you earlier extracted to your sdcard to newly created data/tmp folder (/data/tmp/vrtheme)
You see the "Data" folder location is in the root of the directory and not in sdcard bescuase sdcard doesn't have a data folder, i think in step 6 you meant your phone instead of sdcard.
Any way i will wait for the February update and if you need any files once the update is here let me know, thank you for the work.
P.S :I would love it if you could do a step by step tutorial on how to minimize the navigation bar height and width to 0 and all the needed changes.
Thanks for your time and work.

I'm not saying those instructions aren't the most convoluted instructions ever written, LOL. I actually made a adb installer with a menu for all the mods I had at the time and all you had to do was run the installer bat file, pick what you wanted and reboot. Everything was done for you. 8.1 got a working TWRP so I only posted it where TWRP wasn't available yet.
I know, i tried the twrp method first but the device will always boot to the recovery that's why I tried the alternative method in hopes it will work.
This had been updated to February update.
