While flashing I'm getting the error that the zip file is missing system.img, I checked the file and it was there, redownloading now and will update.
**Update** Redownloaded, MD5 Checksum matches source, still having the same issue.

Just finished flash
Not that I was expecting anything different but no obvious changes.

If it fixes all the bugs related to this phone I wouldn't have minded if it was released in January

Will do

In 5.0.1 maybe the battery will be better?
I was waiting for 5.0.1 with my 4.4.4... but i don't know if I switch now.

And here is the ota zip file!! ??
http://android.clients.google.com/p...ed-hammerhead-LRX22C-from-LRX21O.785a2f7a.zip

I am going to do a complete wipe and reinstallation to ensure the best chance of working.

We are good to go now. Manually flashed and it worked. Appears the issue is with Windows Technical Preview. Thanks!

You can flash/root with the Wug toolkit too.

I can connect to corporate wifi now. At least one bug is fixed for me.

I haven't done this in a while, do we need custom recovery to flash or can we flash this with stock recovery. I am completely stock with just an unlocked Bootloader.

If you are using the factory image, you can do it with the stock. Haven't done it using ota image so not sure about it.

Anyone working on root yet?

Just wondering how long we may have to wait for a Root. Just some small tweaks I'm dying to make.
Until someone gets a phone. Deliveries begin tomorrow.

I don't think we will have to wait very long... The bootloader is so easily unlockable that I'm sure we will see the Pure Edition getting a root within the next few days. Hopefully.. mine came in today and I'm dying to get some xposed modules on it.

Indeed! If you pre-ordered on day one, you should have it. Unless FedEx didn't do their job (which is likely.)

Some seemed to have root, if you are willing to unlock the bootloader, install the experimental CWM, and flash the latest SuperSU beta.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/help/moto-x-2014-dump-t2868250/post55628034
Not a real issue if you have the pure edition (as far as I know unlocking the bootloader on the pure edition does not void your warranty). But currently I can't find the working CWM.
If people are looking for root w/o unlocking the bootloader then I think we will need more time.
My Pure Edition arrived around noon today (the 24th).
Unlocked the bootloader, then I installed the test version of CWM, then I installed SuperSU
Launched SuperSU app and it seemed to work so I went ahead and went crazy...
Currently rocking a device with all my apps & data (thanks Titanium Backup!) and with a few UI tweaks (thanks Xposed and GravityBox!)
I can vouch it is all working 100% and is safe if you can follow instructions. Everything I needed was in this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/help/moto-x-2014-dump-t2868250 Test version #8 of CWM is the one you want; page 9 I believe. Post #99 is the instructions I followed, worked like a charm.

Just saw your edit. Not sure, I went ahead and just flashed it. I'm just going to leave it there until somebody ports TWRP to the new X (probably only a matter of days). Never tried just booting it - should maybe work; but again, can't say for sure.

If you can get it to me somehow, I will post it somewhere that bandwidth quotas will not be an issue. Please do share it, I think there's alot of us (me included) that got their X's early, and have them ready to go with an unlocked bootloader, just waiting to root. Thanks!

I just rooted without flashing CWM using
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
where recovery.img is the CWM Test-8 file, and sideloading the 2.02 version of SuperSU. Rebooted from CWM and chose to fix root, now I have root. Took all of 30 seconds to do.

System update problems

I was notified of a system update on my tablet today. Got it downloaded and started the update. About a third of the way through, the little android fellow keels over, dead, with the dreaded red exclamation.... Error. Tried the update a few times, all with the same result.
Anyone else having this problem with this update? Any suggestions?
I have to laugh every time I see the dead android... it's just a perfect icon for the situation.

You have to flash the stock recovery back and make sure all the bloatware that came with the rom is installed and not frozen.
The best way to go about this would be probably to flash sbdag's stock rooted rom, then flash the stock recovery from Droidbasement, then manually flash the firmware which you get from Asus downloads.
Not worth the trouble IMHO....

Download the firmware from Asus, unzip it once and copy that file to the root of your internal SD. You may have to reboot for the system to find it, but with stock recovery installed it should give you a notification.
That's how I remember it, but there was a lot of trouble for users trying to flash back to stock with the 4.2/4.3 update - don't quite remember, but I think those got solved when Droidbasement provided the flashable stock recovery.

[Resolved] Stuck in Download Mode after failed flash attempt.

Okay, so I finally decided to ditch AT&T and go full Paranoid (This is not my first flashing attempt with Android devices). Got the latest version, etc. Load into BootStrap and wipe everything. Go to install PA and for some reason I had neglected to tell my build.prop (ro.product.device/name) is supposed to be "jactivelteatt"/"jactivelteuc" and not "SN-M9009". So when I started the flash process, immediate error and now I'm stuck with a phone with no OS or bootloader and can not, for the life of me, find a ROM to flash with .MD5 or .TAR that will work with ODIN. I did find "Oneclick_I537UCUAMF1" that gets all the way to the end and fails. Tried multiple times with multiple cables.
Please if anyone has any idea's, please help.

Oh god are you on the US version (SGH-I537)? If you're on the international version (I9295) ignore this post but otherwise, you need to read and take in my short rant. Trust me I wish this weren't the case, but it is, and it's important:
The Galaxy S4 Active i537 has a locked bootloader. There is no way around this, no ifs ands or buts. You simply cannot flash custom ROMs or recoveries. That's it, end of story as far as CM, CWM, AOSP and such things are concerned. That being said there is a sort of recovery called SafeStrap which you can use to make nandroid backups, flash mods and STOCK-BASED roms, but it's not a true custom recovery in the sense that we had been used to, because of this locked bootloader nightmare.
OK so I think you're gonna want to check out this thread. It's all about how to install any firmware from download mode, I think you're gonna have to go with NE3 or NH3.
Let me reiterate. NO CUSTOM ROMS. NO CWM. No Paranoid, no cyanogenmod, no AOSP, no crossing go before going directly to jail. Sorry for the stupid joke but seriously, you have got to keep your phone on stock-based roms (of which there are unfortunately few).

You need to make sure you are flashing a version that is the same or more recent than the version you are currently on. You cannot downgrade your firmware or else you'll end up with a bootloop.

Epg2 firmware

Anybody get it yet? Supposedly went official yesterday. About 300MB.
I unlocked your mum's bootloader.
It just arrived, and it was about 300MB. IT rebooted into TWRP, which just sat there. I rebooted, and then Andorid complained that the update didn't work. Well, duh!
That said, now I would like to know what I should have done or should do in the future. Any thoughts?
Mine just arrived
What's new?
Just found a story about it here - it is indeed the July update:
http://www.tmonews.com/2016/08/t-mobile-galaxy-note-4-note-edge-july-security-update/
Links in that article will eventually point you to here, where the update can be downloaded manually and installed via Samsung Smart Switch.
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-16486#update_download
Since I am rooted I am actually not sure what to do, and would appreciate some advice.
300 mb is a big update. If you are rooted you will need to flash the new firmware in Odin. But you may want to hold off. I am note sure it adds any new features and will probably make your device incompatible with any ROMs that are currently available.

Thanks - sound advice.
So, where should I be looking on my Note 4 for the 300 MB download that happened earlier this morning, so I can delete it or copy/move it off for later?
I just got it but waiting to see if there are any bugs or negative effects. I'm not rooted so there's no way to go back.

Yep...trying to figure out how to avoid the update too.
I'm stick rooted with XPosed, Beastmode kernel, and a few other mods.
I just did the update, and I can confirm that TWRP, root, and xposed all work.
I don't know about compatibility with custom roms though.

I have no idea what "update from settings" means. Also, no idea where to start looking for the update - heck, I don't even know what to Google to find it. Thoughts?

From your device click settings look for about device click then at the top you will see (download updates manually) If you are rooted or removed any system apps dont go that route, the update will fail.. You then would just need the update file to flash with odin.. Might look in overdrives op.
What is overdrives op?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-maximum-ovrdrive-6-0-1-mm-beta-4-13-t3358326 Here.. you will see the link it a all in one (home) odin file just flash in ap or pda slot depending on which odin you use..
I believe this is the AFH Linky for the new firmware also fwiw: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24588212152306227
So just to be clear, Overdrive is a MM-based T-Mobile ROM, basically just debloated and with some minor tweaks.
As a convenience, he has linked to "N910T Stock Odin Full EPG2 Firmware File," which we can flash using TWRP onto an otherwise stock+rooted MM 6.0.1.
I got this right?

The PG2 file he has a link to is stock. That thread is for his pe3 custom though. I haven't made my rounds through note 4 thread yet. I maintain another android site and all the devices in my sig are active. I'm never on the same thread everyday....lol

New OTA: G920TUVS4EPH2

Got this OTA after doing an ODIN of EPF1 to my phone. Baseband is updated to match, unsure about bootloader but I doubt it. If someone wants a ROM dump and is willing to tell me how....
I got this update pushed to me also.
Question for anyone who knows: If you flash this do you lose the ability to install custom low level software (firmware, recoveries, etc)?

I didn't. I haven't tried downgrading but I flashed recovery after it updated. The one thing I have noticed is that wanam xposed/firefds kit has some functions that don't work or change anything...
Ugh, just got my S6 back from repair and they installed this update. Is it possible to root?

It's possible, our S6 won't get locked on any 6.0 firmware's
Maybe on 7.0 if we get it. but not 6.0
And for clarification EPH2 was just security fixes.. everything else is still the same.

OK, thanks — how should I go about doing this? I've always used CF Auto Root, but it doesn't seem updated yet.
I guess until further notice using Smart Switch as a lazy way to recover from my own stupidity is out

This guide will help you with all of it, just change the "the rom" part to whatever 6.0 rom you decide you want to use instead.
I'm downloading the complete TAR image from Sammobile, but due to finances I don't have the means to pay for the full speed..
So I'm downloading at the slow method.. If someone else has not uploaded the image, I will upload it by late tonite..
I'm still having issues with the damn Upload it gives me last second errors when I step away to do another task..
I'm making my final attempt to upload it onto my Android File Host... It should be up by morning if it uploads correctly.. Just Look For Zaphodspeaks in Android File Host if I haven't posted it yet..
I have many tasks to do this week ends.. Mainly upkeep the the old house and updating some of the old wiring while its getting cooler..
Finally, I uploaded the Image.. I had to recompress it since it kept giving me errors at the very end, just unzip and install in ODIN

Got my phone rooted, custom rom, and kernel that I was using before, no problem.
Last night (9/27) I got a firmware update for my factory USA unlocked 920T. Sammobile shows it was released on 9/26. It was a 50MB file that updated the Android secruity patch date to Sept. 1. No other changes. I noticed the Samsung Smart Manager app/widget shows I'm using 5% less memory now. I don't know if it's better RAM management or Samsung modified the app/widget to show different figures LOL. I suspect the t-mobile 920T will get the update soon.
