Problem started yesterday, phone charge till 5% and than stop,it still says charging but its not.

try to get some battery apps to fix it and try a new cable...

Battery Fix
This is an issue with battery calibration (or so I assume).
What you will need to do is:
Leave the phone for at least 36 hours. Make sure that you keep the phone turned on for as long as possible.
Once you have left it for 36 hours, connect the charger and charge for a whole 10 hours.
Then, turn on the phone and it will possibly show that the battery is at 100%. If not, you need to install an app called CurrentWidget: Battery Monitor. It is available here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manor.currentwidget
This app will tell you the voltage/current stored in the battery. If the mAh of the battery is 3000 mAh when left charging for 10 hours, then you will need to do this:
Fully charge the battery with the phone for 5 hours and when the phone is fully charged, unplug the charger and turn it off.
When your phone is off, plug it into the charger and let it charge to 100% again. The green LED light will indicate when this is done.
Next unplug the charger, turn on your phone and set the option to ensure that your screen doesn’t turn off, if you have this option. Then reconnect to the charger and wait for it to charge again to 100%.
Once loaded to 100%, unplug the charger again and do not load until the smartphone turns itself off after reaching a 0% battery level. Once off, fully charge it again and it should work properly. The screen setting can put back to normal again (meaning turn off after a certain amount of time).
Hope this helped!

Battery failure or soft/hardware glitch?

My Kaiser never had great battery life, 12 hour max.
But nowdays its just ridicilous, device turns itself off during calls. This is normal due battery failures.
But the real question that I am asking: Is it normal that battery indicator is not accurate at all? Ill give a few examples.
1) I charge the battery overnight (7 hours). When I wake up, it says 100% battery, but I notice that orange LED is not lit (not charging). I restart the phone, still 100%. I shut it down, remove battery, plug it back in, start the phone and it says 80% battery? Has the phone stopped recharging when it hit 100% the first time?
2) I'm making a call. 70% Battery. Phone shuts down. I restart it. Battery 70%. I shut it down, remove battery, plug it back, start the phone and it says 0% battery.
3) Battery 10%. I charge it to 100%. Shut down, remove battery, plug it back in, restart phone. Battery 75%. Recharge it to 100%. Shut it down, remove battery, plug it back in, restart phone. Battery 85%. Recharge it to 100%, repeat this few times and I finally get to "real" battery charge of 95%. And the phone stays on the whole day.
Seems that my phone is a BIT too optimistic about the 100%
I'm just hoping this is all about the fact that the battery is dying. Ordered a new one few days ago.
Same problems with WM 6.0 and 6.1.

[Q] My battery won't charge once it's reached 100% it drops (even while plugged in)

So I plug my phone in -- it charges to 100%
This usually occurs over night, however it occurs during the day when i charge it at work too.
AS SOON as I pull the plug out -- it drops from 100% to like 80% or 70% instantly.
In other words, it can charge to 100%, but it can't hold that charge, even while plugged in -- even while plugged in it will lose it's battery.
I have to quickly unplug it then plug it back in and let it charge up to 100% again (at which point it starts to drop, again)
Questions
1) why does this happen ? Is my battery done ?
2) how to fix this ?
You need to calibrate it probably, search for galaxy battery calibration
Or, you are having the Gingerbread bug if you are on 2.3... (See General sub-forum, there's the answer)
1) Because Lithium batteries can not be trickle charged without setting fire to your desk. Once the charging is done it stops charging till it reaches a certain level determined by the system. That is usually somewhere between 90-100%. Dropping to 70-80% seems like more of a software glitch than anything else.
Also don't unplug and plug it in again. This may be bad for your battery.
Also2 if you're plugged into the computer it seems as though the computer can't provide enough power from it's socket to run the phone with the screen on and in active use. Does it still do it on the wall charger?
had same problem
proper caliberation will work :]

[Q] Battery problem?

A strange thing happened to me: last night I turned off the phone with about 60% of charge remaining, this morning I turn it on and I find 13%, after a reboot it gave me 50% ...
What can be the cause?
I found that here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755903&page=33
You can try it :
This is the procedure that works for me:
The following steps should significantly extend the battery life on your phone:
1. Let the battery drain close to empty (5% or less).
2. Connect the phone to the charger (AC or USB, USB is better) while powered on and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green, indicating the device is fully charged and untill the voltage is at least 4187mV. A higher voltage like 4192mV or more is even better. Use a tool like Overcharged or Battery Indicator to monitor this. Note that a green notification LED does not automatically mean that the voltage is good too.
A higher voltage means in practice that it will take longer to discharge, a lower voltage means that the battery will discharge a lot quicker! The difference can be quite significant!
3. Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it off.
4. Reconnect the phone to the charger while powered off and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green. The notification LED may turn green immediately. Leave it on the charger for another hour.
5. Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on.
6. Once the phone is powered on completely (has restarted fully) wait 2 minutes and power it off again.
7. Reconnect the phone to the charger while powered off and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green. The notification LED may turn green immediately. Leave it on the charger for another hour.
8. Leave the phone on the charger and reboot into the ClockWorkMod recovery menu and wipe the battery stats via -> Advanced -> Wipe battery stats.
9. Disconnect the phone from the charger, restart the phone and start using it as normal.
From then on always let the battery drain close to empty (5% or less) as often as possible and then charge untill the voltage is at least 4187mV. A higher voltage like 4192mV or more is even better.
Normally you will have to do this only once. However, on all Android ROMs, if you flash a ROM while charging or during the first boot screen on, first boot mucks up the levels Android thinks the phone is at, i.e. Android will think you’re at 100% when maybe you’re only 90% or whatever. So in theory you will need to repeat this every time you flash a ROM while charging!
Better is to make sure the battery is charged before you flash a ROM and just remove the USB/charge cable before you flash a ROM. Put it back in (if you must) after the first boot screen (when the custom screen or whatever shows).
Thank you, I'll try it

Samsung Galaxy S3 Sudden discharge (No battery drain issue)

Hi!
I'm having a problem whith a friend's S3 which I'm not being able to solve.
When the phone is not connected to the charger the battery lasts less than a few minutes being overly optimist.
He bought a new battery, and exactly the same happens.
If I try to charge it when it's turned off, the charging indicator flips between 100% and whatever number between 10 and 100%. So it goes like 100% - 30% - 100% - 31% - 100% - 32% . When it seems charged, I unplug it, try to turn it on, and WHEN IT DOES TURN ON, almost instantly the message "Battery low, connect charger" appears. Sometimes I can't turn it on if it's not connected to the charger.
I've tried rooting the phone, flashing an updated recovery which let me wipe the battery stats, but it didn't work.
Whith the phone rooted I tried whith some play store "Battery doctor apps", same results.
I can't seem to find the problem, any help would be really appreciated!
I have to add that I measured the battery charge with a multimeter and it reads 2.77V out of 3.8 , meaning it's 73% charged.
The phone won't turn on unless I connect it to the charger.

Battery percentage

I do not understand why the percentage of the battery as soon as I turn on the phone after a full charge immediately indicates 98% and not 100%, even if the display shows off the full charge as soon as I remove the charger.
It's probably because your 100% battery level is nearing on 99% and every reboot, based on my experience, more often than not consumes 1%, maybe more, hence, 98% battery left.

Click to collapse
I'd suggest varying how you charge the phone; 1) with the phone on 2) with the phone off
My (albeit anecdotal) experience is that when charged with the phone on, and left on the charger longer than when it says 100%, it's doing a 'trickle' charge, which then seems to charge it completely. Again, anecdotal, but it seems to me that after charging it numerous times with it on, then when I charge it turned off it seems to do a *full* charge.
ymmv
maybe I explained myself badly. in the evening I put the phone off and off. In the morning as soon as I accrue it, instead of marking 100%, it will score 98% .If it is when I unplug it from the charger and it is still off and it is 100% .
