Anyone have an N6 and a Moto360? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm experiencing excessive battery drain on my Moto360 since I got the N6. I used to go all day and by bedtime I would still have 20% charge, now it's completely dead by 4pm.
Trying to diagnose an issue with mine specifically or if this is an issue with the N6.
Thanks!

I've noticed slightly worse battery life as well. But, I'm not sure if it's because it's paired with the N6 or if it's Wear 5.0. I got jumped from the G3 to the N6 and never even got the 360 update until I got the N6. So it's hard for me to say. That being said, there's definitely something causing battery drain on the 360. Mine is nowhere near as excessive as your battery drain though. I'd just try and reset it if I were you.

I did a reset last night and I got the 5.0 update this morning. By 10am I was down to 38% battery. No idea what the issue is, hopefully the update will solve it. Also reset my phone thinking there may be an issue there and reinstalled the apps.

I haven't tested since 5.0 update, since I just got the update yesterday, but prior to that I didn't have an issue and only charged my 360 every other day and sometimes not until late on the 2nd day. Not sure what would be causing it other than an app being open and constantly syncing or pushing notifications constantly.

Battery on my 360 lasted all day with my moto x. With the nexus, its dead.

No trouble here. In fact, I'm getting slightly better battery life after the update to the watch a few days ago.
I did encounter something similar when I first got my watch. In my case, it was an Android Wear game I installed that had crashed after starting it on the watch, and must have kept running something in the background. I uninstalled the game, and haven't had battery troubles since.
Watch has been off the charger for 8 hours, and has 56% battery left after heavy use today.

All good with mine, Nexus 5.0.1 and Moto 360 5.0.1 Build LWX48T

[Q] [HTC One M7] Battery Calibration/Dying battery?

I have an ATT M7 One that is a little under a year old and recently (Past month or so) I have been having really odd battery fluctuations. I’ll link to an imgur album with some of the battery level graphs that I’ve caught in the past few weeks to hopefully help you understand what I’m talking about more clearly since I don’t think I’ll be able to describe them very accurately on my own. So in the first case i’ve encountered I will charge the battery fully, and once the phone is running on battery it will last anywhere from 15 minutes to maybe an hour two and then just die. But when it dies, the battery level still displays 60%-70%.(Images 4,5,6,& 7) Then when I turn the phone back on the battery level will be anywhere from around 0%-20% and will last for another couple of minutes before dying again. There is another case of my battery acting really strange where the battery level will stay at around 50%-60% even though it’s being charged continuously (Right side of Image 1). I don’t know if it’s because my battery’s calibration is off or of the battery is just dying. I really hope the battery isn’t just outright dying; to get to this level of battery instability in under a year seems pretty shocking to me. I should add that i didn’t get any of these problems before I rooted my phone. I didn’t notice it while it was rooted with the stock rom. I initially started noticing the problem after I installed a GPE rom (not exactly sure which). I thought it was just the rom at first but I’ve switched around to different roms and have been getting the same problem. So does anyone know what the problem is or what could have caused it and if it is even fixable at all?
Thanks for any input!

UPDATE: I've performed a factory reset and used the phone as normal while watching battery life. The battery life lasted about an hour and a half, getting down to 80%. Throughout the battery life I was re-installing my apps and one of my restores required a restart. When I restarted my phone, the phone powered on with 60% battery life then died about a minute later.

Turbo shuts down at 20% battery

For some time now, I've found that my phone shuts down sometimes as early as 25 or 30 percent still left on the battery. I mean literally, forced shutdown. I can't even get through an 8 hour workday anymore without charging, which is sad for a phone with a 3900 mAh battery that used to last me 30+ hours.
I'd do a full reset, if I thought it might bring things back to something resembling normal. Anyone else have this issue?
I get the same but closer to 15%. I'll plug it in when its dead and start it back up and it will already be at 15-16% charged.
Same problem here. I'm assuming its just because the battery is getting old. Worth noting that I have done a factory reset recently (for other issues) but the battery issue persists.
Your battery is dying. Mine did the same, then it started shutting off at higher percentages (shutdown at 80%, could only charge to 90%). Also when it reached the end, the audio on my phone (speakers and phone) cut out completely. I replaced my own with this one: http://amzn.to/2ffynQB. Easy replacement, audio came back and battery seems ok.

OK, good to know. I guess I'll just ride out the last month and a half and hopefully trade in for a Pixel XL in December.
I wonder if this is a common issue with Motorola phones, or specific to the Turbo. I would expect the battery to last at LEAST 2 years. I've had a lot of Samsung devices that are a lot older than the Turbo, and they still hold a charge quite well. Just sold a Note 2 to someone, and also a Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. Both still had great battery life.
Disappointing, as the Turbo is still a great phone...
Update: For the first time since the OG Droid, I've decided to flash a custom ROM. I'm running the 7.0 Nougat ROM found here. My battery life has been greatly improved. I'm currently sitting at 43% after 8 hours of normal workday use. I usually would have had to plug it in by now. Also, no more random shutdowns at 20%.

Does this phone has a really great battery life?

Hello!
I think I'm going to buy the XZ1 Compact in the next days and there's only one last thing I need to be sure of, it's about the phone's battery life.
I saw people here on XDA posting screenshot with 5-10h screen on time.
Some people told me that it can beat the OnePlus 5, the Galaxy S8 and even some Huawei high-end phones battery life times, is this real?
I will come from a Galaxy S6 which had a really poor battery life, I had to carry an external battery all day long, just in case...
So, will this phone lasts at least one full day before getting charged again?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
I charge mine every 2 or 3 days, in that time i have around 4h screen on time. I guess it will depend on your mobile signal strength, but i would say that is very easy for this phone to last a full day.
Everyone's usage pattern differs, I think standardized tests like GSMArena's gives a better point of reference, you can compare results with other phones.
Just to give an example of how analytical data from users will wildly differ, my phone can rarely last more than a day on one charge, but then again I play games and browse cat pics for hours, so it's to be expected.
As a student ,I use my XZ1 every 5 min while studying, and I record my phone's charge every day by evernote.I find it can be using for 8~9 hours a day without long time gaming. And I can play Arena of valor for 3 hours and it only took 20 percent of battery. That's really much better than my last iPhone 6.Last by not least,I charge it one time a day.And I can't leave my phone alone every 5 min.

Well on GSMArena, they say the phone will last 108h, that's better than almost all high-end phones like S8, OP5, etc...
The two last comments scares me a little, as I can see, the phone doesn't really last a day with heavy usage :crying:
but on some websites, like GSMArena, they say it can survive a heavy day without any problems
But I'm a student too so I'll be using the phone for a couple of minutes every hour (when switching classes, checking social medias), during the breaks and when going back home (I will be listening to music and browing a little bit) and I'll be charging the phone before going to sleep (to have it fully charged for the next day)
My Galaxy S6 doesn't even pass 3h screen on time on a single day, so if the phone can last at least 5h screen on time on a single day, I think it will be okay for me
I'm pretty sure this phone will meet (and likely exceed) your expectations with your usage, you can probably even manage 2 days without charging.
Everyone else seems to be getting great battery life on this phone, but mine is mediocre. It seems that bluetooth is draining a lot of battery when I have it on and connected. I also have a ton of wakelocks and alarms according to Better Battery Stats and GSam. Everything is coming from Android OS and Android System, and the drain has persisted through multiple clean installs.
Previous phones that I've used in the same way with the same apps haven't had these issues. I'm not sure if this is an Oreo issue or a problem specific to the XZ1c, but I've had to charge my phone before the end of the day many times in the 2 months I've owned it.
My expectation for a phone is that it should last at least 18 hours with 3-4 hours SOT before it hits 20%, which is when I always charge to preserve battery health, so I'm more focused on standby time than SOT. I can get decent SOT with this phone, but the wakelocks and bluetooth destroy my standby time.
Edit: Finally sorted out one of the issues; it was this app that was constantly waking my phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iboalali.sysnotifsnooze&hl=en
my battery life has been absolutely beyond anything i've ever seen on android, fwiw. i charged my phone at 3pm today (thursday) having not previously charged it since monday night, and it still had 15%. generally get around 6-7 hours SOT and only drains 2 or 3% overnight.

Pebble (which I use 24/7) and my car system.
I was looking to change my current Z3C due to bluetooth issues. But it seems it is not yet the time to change to XZ1C. Looks like needs to be waiting till 8.1.
I had S4mini with 4.4.4 kitkat, so using with car audio (not for musing just for hands free phone calls) the phone would not go to deep sleep while connected to car hands free. The phone will deplete battery within 3-4 hours of driving by half.
SO changed to Z3C. At start it was 4.4.4 kitekat. No problem with hands free. Later bought MS Band2. There were some bluetooth issues, but not much. Than also bought MOOV NOW. So after syncing this device the phone was not going deep sleep. But as I was using it just once in a week (fro swimming tracking or cycling), restart was solving issue till next sync.
Than updated to MM 6.0.1. Thee was even less issues.
Now have bought garmin Vivoki and Vivoactive 3, instead of MSD Band 2. With Vivoki paired - 50% of time is not in deep sleep. Tried reverting to 5.1.1 or 4.4.4 - so 75% is in awake state...
So could solve only unpairing Vivoki and pairing to other phone and keep bluettoh for second phone off. Now with just Vivoactive 3 connected it is quite ok. But still time after time now phone does not go to deep sleep while connected to car hands free...
Bluetooth looks quite lame overall on android. A lot of possibilities, but a lot of issues.
Thanks everyone for your replies.
I won't be using Bluetooth that much anyway, I bought a Gear S3 from Samsung and I don't think it will be fully compatible with my future XZ1 (I'm planning to buy it for the next days) so I guess I'll just connect the watch to sync the heartbeat sensor data with the phone and that's all.
Just having gear S3 connected to XZ1 might be enough to have a lot of wakelocks (if you will be unlucky)... Unless you will not keep bluetooth always on. Than no problem in any case.
You never know with bluetooth. Some pairs of 2 devices work perfectly, some do not.
I'm back, I received my XZ1 today !!! I'm doing all the updates and stuff right now before going to sleep
had trouble getting the battery to night only in very particular environments where signal was crappy and phone had to maximize GSM antenna power thus draining battery but in such case every phone would suffer so yes, it has a great battery life.
my only complain is about deep sleep which is easy to ruin. the sw should be optimized to keep an eye on background draining apps
Hi,
I have same problem with my battery life, it's quite fitfully.
I've checked that my battery can stand 3 days and 7h of screen on, but on the other hand sometimes my battery only can stand 1 days and 2'5h of screen on.
I make a very undemanding and very similar daily use of the XZ1 Compact
I have my xz1 Compact totally updated: Firmware v.47.1.A.12.119 PlayStore v.9.4.18 and disabled all of uncommon scannings (Wi-Fi,BT,Location,etc..)
My router has 2.4ghz band only enabled and WPA-PSK security, during the night I specially have good and strong Wi-Fi signal in XZ1 Compact.
So...Does anyone know what may be happening? I really appreciate your help.
Thanks.

Battery life is worse after Android Pie (9):

Hello!
I've been experiencing worse battery life on my Nokia 8 since Pie upgrade, I haven't installed any apps nor services...
Note that the battery improved -but not as good as Oreo- after calibration using an app...
Are you experiencing the sane issue? Or should I further investigate?
Thank you..
yes
Same here. I got 12 hours screen on time once on oreo but now, it is a dream. Battery drains fastly due to background services. App restriction doesn't work as well as oreo's restriction. So, this situation causes battery draining. Also there is a weird thing i've faced, battery drains quickly from %100 to %95. I am waiting for Maintenance Release impatiently.
is battery life on oreo really that good?
I'm using pie since day 1 and never got more than 7h sot and 1.5 days.
My battery life is dire since pie, I was impressed with the battery in the 8 until this update, I cant even make a day without having to charge. When I say day I mean from 7am to 10pm as its left charging overnight.
Before pie I could quite happily last 2 days between charges, I'm not a heavy user, initially I thought I must be using the phone more. But I'm actually using it less just so it makes it to the end of the day!
Somehow it's worse again today, dead by 4:30!
Basically just checked phone to see the time, around 10 minutes of faffing in the morning, rebooted it before charging last night incase sonething was using battery. Madness!
For me, I've given my phone a factory reset before I installed the Beta labs/initial final(V5.110, December 2018-January 2019) build. Despite that, I did notice my battery life taking a hit when running this iteration of Pie. I was at most getting not more than 5 hours of SoT on average. And I do use my phone a lot throughout the day, the camera, web browsing, videos and social media. Meanwhile on Oreo, I can get 6 hours on average no problem. Sometimes even 7 hours if I'm lucky.
After updating to V5.140(February 2019) with Adaptive Battery brought in, I seem to have gotten back my average SoC just like when my phone was running Oreo. Running 5-6 hours on average. I'm not sure if Adaptive Battery has anything to do with this since I did notice the improvement immediately. I also disabled some of the Evenwell crap before updating to V5.140, so that may or may not have an effect.
If apps restricted didnt work then try manually restrict each app go to ur up hold it then info Then choose battery from there change background restriction
Ifaced this problem in beta when iwas sleep and wake up morning my battery was almost below 20 percent but i manually restrict all apps and its working 100 percent ?
Sorry to heat that. Have you tried installing some apps like better battery stats to see what exactly is saying up your battery? If your phone is rooted consider installing ForceDoze from f-droid and maybe WakeBlock to regulate some wakelocks that may be the cause of your terrible battery life. I have been able to get great battery life using the latest put version. See screenshot below from a few days ago.
I know that this is old thread but i have solution which i use with my nokia. change default launcher to another lightweight. This works and my battery feel better.
I should of updated, battery went back to normal after newer updates.
However, biggest thing for me, using DNS666 Ad blocker has seemingly doubled my battery life, might be a combination of just gotten bored of the phone or blocking all the ad's saves battery, or a bit of both, its also made the phone feel a lot more responsive overall, i'm using Squarehome as my launcher so maybe that was affecting the battery before?
Maybe which update can fix battery life? I rooted my phone and can't download latest update.

The worst battery drain ever

I love my rp2 but I have absolutely ungodly bad battery drain
I'm getting a drain of about 3% per hour while the phone is not in use. According to accunattery, the worst culprit app is chrome using a total of only 0.08%
Is there a way without root that I can figure out what system services are killing this?

I've got the RP2 as a replacement for my 5th RP1, kept having issues until I told them they better send the RP2 this time. So they listened, I've had it now for around 2 months. Experiencing same issue as you pal. Battery drains fairly quickly, especially when in use, it also gets rather hot, particularly top half towards the right side. I'm pretty sure this device had been refurbished in the past so hence the issues. Maybe best thing to do is to just send this one back too, I'm still under contract so might be a good idea.
My RP2 was draining about 13% overnight. No apps showed abnormal use, but I got a tip from another user about the theme store app. I noticed it was constantly checking for completed downloads even though I had never installed anything. I disabled the app and now I only drain about 2% overnight (8) hours. Daytime use is now fine too.
