About
The WinDroid Toolkit is a Windows program built in Visual Studio using the C# programming language that simplifies the rooting process for many Android devices. The toolkit makes it easy to unlock your bootloader, flash a custom recovery and gain permanent root. It also includes other functions such as flashing kernels, pushing files and installing apps. If you find it helpful, give me a thanks and a donation if you can. If you find a bug or have a feature request, feel free to leave a reply. Thanks!

You are correct. Everything will work, but the recovery will only work with the 32-Bit version, as I couldn't find a recovery build for the 64-Bit version. I'll better specify that so people don't flash the wrong recovery.

thank you definitely helped

Hi,
so the recovery doesn't work on 64 bits version, but for the root ? The Recovery is essential ?
And thanks for your work, it's amazing !

I have a 64 bit version. If I use this program to unlock the bootloader am I able to gain root access?? Is it just a matter or loading in supersu?

No, you still won't be able to root your 64bit device, because there is no TWRP recovery available for the 64bit Desire 510 yet, and TWRP is necessary to flash SU to gain root. Sorry
Sent from my Desire 510

Could possibly try towel root app, you dont have to have TWRP to root you just have to find a different method?

Nope. Towel root didn't work. Pity but worth a try. I have several gigs of music and can't play it because the phone won't find it on my ext sd card.
What is the use of a 128 gig card when it can't be accessed.

I spent 3 hrs. Just getting the bootloader unlock done with windows 8 using directions from dev. Using Vista, I think. I had to say uncle for today on figuing out why recovery.img won't flash, although I believe I now know what the Stupid issue is, my brother in law has taken his phone home and went to bed. So I really hope this is legit because I have rooted plenty of phones and quite a few HTC's which are more work but usually a matter of getting sdk setup and waiting on email, but that was when I ran Win 7 so anyone is subject to have difficulties getting any fastboot executions done so I believe this toolkit is worth a hell of alot and thanks for your work I know I will appreciate it more when I get the phone back to try again THANK YOU SIR! I will be sure to let you know what I think. :good:

Installation instructions
There are two ways of installing Ubuntu on your Nexus 4: Single or dual boot. Dual boot is definitely easier (that irony!).
Single boot requires you to have a desktop PC with Ubuntu installed while dual boot can be achieved by downloading an app from Google Play.
The single boot instructions are presented very well on the official Ubuntu developer site: Installing Ubuntu for devices
Advantage: Very easy to reflash without losing your data
Disadvantage: Requires a PC with Ubuntu installed
Dual boot can be set up by downloading MultiROM Manager from Google Play, installing the MultiROM parts from inside the app and then installing Ubuntu from inside the app as well.
Advantage: Very easy to get Ubuntu working without the need of a PC
Disadvantage: No way to reflash later without losing your data (but don't worry, updates work fine)
No matter which installation method you choose, you will be presented with a list of channels to pick from, each of them containing different versions of the OS.
If you want stable images with updates once every six weeks, choose the channel "ubuntu-touch/stable".
Daily development builds can be installed from the "rc-proposed" channel, but this is not to be recommended as they break regularly (sometimes they do not even boot).
Note that in that case there is no way to recover your data if you are using MultiROM.

Not a daily driver, wifi doesn't work, the touch interface - while interesting - requires two hands to operate the menubar-thingy, and it looks like many placeholders are included. Nonfunctional items are plentiful.
I love the smoothness, it feels good, and the visual design is pleasant. If phone and wifi worked it would be worth using on a spare phone.

[Sprint/Virgin Mobile] [Kernel] Stock Desire 510 [Write Protection Removed]

Hello everyone,
Today we just got something super cool, a custom kernel for our desire 510. Its only working on vm and sprint models but basically this is just a stock kernel for now with no goodies other than write protect being removed.
[Disclaimer]I'm not responsible for anything that happens as a result of this pending flash. Do not cry to me if your phone goes up in flames or if your wife leaves you due to you being addicted to your phone.
I take no credit for the actual kernel build or anything like that. All credit goes to rbheromax. The kernel is currently being edited and uploaded. ETA is about an hour or so.
Instructions:
Pull the battery and put it back in then press and hold vol - and pwr.
When in hboot navigate to the fastboot option and click the pwr button.
When in fastboot connect your phone and on your pc press and hold shift and right click your downloads folder. Then click open command prompt here.
Next type fastboot flash boot b.img and tap enter.
Done!!!

So,this is mean i can get back my phone and its boot or i never will get it boot again?
Sorry for bad english...
Apps I have removed without issues.
I actually uninstalled the qulacomm app and phone still works just fine. I also removed, HTC guide, HTC gallery, HTC dot view, HTC service pack, HTC blink feed, Messaging Plus, Lumen Toolbar, Stock internet browser, Anything involving google besides framework and play store (redownloaded apps to let them be a user app to move to SD card.)... A few others I can't remember as well, But what is interesting is that after removing all of that bloat... I really don't have that much internal space available still.......... Getting sick of phones with storage issues.. A smartphone can only be as smart as the apps installed on it.. But yet after my crucial 25 apps I have no storage space to install anything else. :/

Its alright . And if you can download the eu source and build the stock kernel sure. If you dont know how to you might have to wait till someone picks up the eu model and makes a custom kernel for that your model. I dont currently have that model. Let me ask my buddy if he can build you a stock eu kernel.

Good for All carriers??
I noticed that the screen shots show Cricket as the carrier.
Will this ROM work on Virgin Mobile and others??
Also, will the ROM open up the micro SIM slot for GSM carriers?
Thanks for the efforts!
Also curious about Virgin Mobile Support
How much free space does this leave you with in the end?

No, the Sprint/VM/Boost version lacks GSM radios entirely AFAIK and only supports Sprint bands (ugh, I know). I wish I had picked up the Cricket version...
...but there it is.
OP: I recommend setting up a standard Android build environment, extracting the blobs from the phone, and using the kernel source to build an AOSP-based ROM. I'm working on doing this with CM code for the Sprint variant.

Sweet!
I have the Sprint 510, how much of you guyses efforts can be combined and how much of it is carrier dependent? I'm only just getting into ROM flashing stuff on an M7, but it seems like a lot of it is device/carrier specific.
Hell yeah man!!! Thank you! I hate sense!!! I hate it i hate it i hate it!!! Please do let me know when you figure a flashable zip! Thanks man
I can perhaps tell you the format of flashing. I believe you create some scripts in c(main language for building android). The scripts would point to where the custom modified apps would need to be.
@cravingCritic
here is a link to a working META-INF to flash ROMs
i cant seem to get wifi to work after flash (missing symlink or maaybe wrong perms)
format /system BEFORE flashing, script wont do it, nor will it if you add it to the script (that'll make it fail)

I'm down for the countdown. Should be 4 minutes in when this sends. Also look at timeStamp. I am an app developer, and this phone barely has enough memory to hold my apps resources. Gah.
your missing a symlink in your updater-script
This is the symlink your missing
symlink("/system/lib/modules/pronto/pronto_wlan.ko", "/system/lib/modules/wlan.ko");
I had the same issue when i started on my rom until i realized the wifi module wasn't being symlinked and loaded Also, i have a custom kernel with write protection removed, you have my permission to post a link in your OP.

I had the same issue when i started on my rom until i realized the wifi module wasn't being symlinked and loaded Also, i have a custom kernel with write protection removed, you have my permission to post a link in your OP.
And here is the link, just be sure to include credits.

Is this kernel compatible with the Cricket revision?
Yes, i just made a thread for it as well. I own the Cricket Desire 510 so it will be the only variant i develop on.

That's weird, but it's definitely not malware. You can check the source code here if you don't believe me.

Didnt detect my Zenfone 5
It works only in kk droidboot version. In lollipop .78 don't recognized and displayed error message. Please fix it.
Thanks
For everyone who's phones aren't being recognized, it's possible that the included ADB drivers don't handle Asus phones well. Try installing the latest Asus ADB drivers from here and see if it works better.
@WindyCityRockr does unlock bootloader using ifwi method ? For zenfone.
Can add unlock for a502cg (T00K)

Using CM13 and this update drivers, I noticed a graphical improvement. But with the BHB27 things got a little unstable.
I know the title says Marshmallow. Just checking, not for 5.1 Lollipop -- like CM12.1?
After using for several days only CM13 of 06/20 with this update in normal use I had no problems except some reboot to make calls. But playing heavy games like Real Racing 3 for a long time, the phone heating up a lot, and restarted. With the stock kernel everything is working great.

This release contains a developer preview of the user-mode driver binaries for Qualcomm Adreno 3xx/4xx GPU on Nexus 5, Nexus 6, and Nexus 7 devices running Google Android Marshmallow. It has been tested with Soak Test 4. This release is intended only for developers, and does not meet our customer release quality. Please refer to the included readme file for installation.
Install zip nexus 6 via TWRP will work perfectly in any Marshmallow ROM !!
The openGL ES has been updated to version 3.2!!!

I post this on my kernel Thread please OP read and change the OP, maybe do your on zip the right zip for Maxx and do not share things before know how they work.
Like I post on the quote... I'm not trying to be impolite...

As I said in a previous post, I decided not to use the kernel for now.
The newly released driver, despite the early stage of development, brings me more personal advantages and has been absolutely stable with the stock kernel.
I have no problem to wait for the graphics driver version that will be interesting to consider for the development of this kernel. My intention was to alert about the incompatibility and know the position of the developer.
This is it. Everything is ok.

Have you check the zip before flash it?
That is a Nexus 6 zip you are sharing, we don't have a Nexus 6, Moto doesn't build Maxx ROM like Google.
So resuming, on Maxx (Custom or stock ROM) the firmware folder is not on vendor folder it is at, etc/firmware, if you flash that you have two adreno firmware, and probably the one that is running is the Maxx using Nexus libs so maybe that alone is the problem not my Kernel.
Have you enable open GL 3.2?
Probably not, if that update enable 3.2 how about enable it on the device to see the effect and improves...
How?
Change build.prop line:
ro.opengles.vrersion=196608 or 196609 to
ro.opengles.vrersion=196610
Open GL version:
196608 3.0
196609 3.1
196610 3.2
After the changes and a reboot + long use, then start report any thing related to the kernel if you have prof that the kernel is the problem in a way I can understand and reproduce, I don't really like user with minimum knowledge of what they are doing report bugs like that, this may not be your case you may know what you are doing but it doesn't seems to me, so if you know sorry.
Again I'm not trying to be impolite...

I'm new at XDA but I have years of experience with roms, mods etc. (from my Galaxy Y which was purchased in 2012 to be precise kkk), this ZIP only shared after testing here on my Moto Maxx and I make sure that everything was working until I obtained a gain nk AnTuTu benchmark in the 3D test jumped from 24k to almost 28k, I tested this driver in stock rom 6.0.1 (soak 4) with your kernel that cha BHB. Thank you for the clarification, do not worry, don't hurt me.... Don't go... kkk

I don't think you understand my post as you are still sharing a zip that will flash files on the wrong place, again we have a MAXX not Nexus 6 please read this part that I wrote before:

I copied the new driver files to the right folder on the MAXX and adjusted access rights.
Anyway, even before doing so, always using the kernel of stock SOAK4, everything worked well. No reboots.
Still now working well, even after the old drivers are overwritten by new ones - without erasing the original wrong folder.
Using smoothly from the beginning.

Fully understood, thank you again for clarification and apologize for having shared this zip, just wanted to make clear that only shared because it caused no problem here in my Maxx, but since it does not work already made sure
if I was not very clear apologize again because I am using Google translator because my English is very bad
For those who are doing tests with this early version of the driver - for desenvoledores only - there is an update in June, the "m" version.
Do not forget to copy the drivers to the right folder on the MAXX and verify the files system permissions.
I have already installed, and everything is normal.
I will use for a few days to evaluate effects.
Is there any possibility of getting compatible with custom roms?
There's no way to carry the Resurrection Remix? His performance is very good @bhb27
