[Q] Changing Lock Screen Wallpaper - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

I just purchase a Droid Turbo 32GB BN Blue from Best Buy. I haven't set it up yet but am coming off a Samsung Galaxy S3 with root, unlocked bootloader and running AOKP.
I wanted to be able to change the Lockscreen and/or Notification Window wallpaper. Is this something that can be done without root (using Xposed)?

still no. Nova is just a launcher cant change the lock screen wallpaper. You can always try a replacement lockscreen app. those sometime work ok, but i tend to stay away from them.

Tapet changes the lockscreen wallpaper on my droid turbo but not on my wifes galaxy S4. of course tapet does not really allow for anything but there wallpapers i believe.

Changing lock screen, Motorola droid turbo, Nougat
Yes you can use a lock screen app like Google wallpapers or Lock screen Wallpaper in Google Play

Install different lockscreens?

Hey Guys,
Looking for some new lockscreens. Would really like the froyo 2.2 lockscreen from the droid x or D2. I like the looks of those slider bars.
Does anyone know if this is available or ones like it?
I dont know if its possible to replace the actual system lockscreens ... I know that WidgetLocker has those Motorola Froyo Lockscreen Setups, but well, its a external solution, the internal Lockscreen will not be replaced at all ...
one is called Lockbot

Awesome this is exactly what I was looking for. It works great, thanks for the tip, loving my new lockscreen now.
batmania15: since the latest lockscreen gestures update (in CM 0.04-10.11.29) I'm not using the unlock bars at all. You should check it out...

I tried the lockscreen gestures but didnt like them. I had one set for S and one set for B and everytime I drew the B it launched the one for S.
The default sensitivity was set too low, you could simply fix it for you by setting it to 3 or higher.
In 0.04-10.11.29, the default is now 3.

i think widget locker is a perfect choice
i m using it since i got the phone
While Widget Locker is a nice feature to have I think the Milestone just can't handle it. 256mb and if you throw a few widgets on it or a few widgets in your Launcher Pro/ADw, your home screen will redraw 24/7. I noticed like a 2x redraw rate with WidgetLocker. It's nice, but our phones can't handle it.
Need 512mb ram damnit.
sorry to hi-jack, but aren't you the Batmania15 from the MOTO Milestone support forums?
Any word on official FroYo?
i have another sort of question about lockscreen.
is there a way to have a picture on lockscreen different to the background picture?
You can set an alternative wallpaper i widget locker for the lock screen

Nadlabak,
The gesture lockscreen is great! Thanks for this.
Is it possible to use your gestures lock instead of standard Android visible pattern functionality? I mean to secure lock screen via gesture only. I ask because if you turn it on, then you can use gesture OR standard swipe unlock (so it's not securing the phone).
Thanks in advance for any sugestions!
Yes, you can turn off standard unlock slider option in the cyanogen settings.

Lock screen customization?

Is there any way to get a custom lock screen? Like change the clock or clock position, maybe even a different lock screen wallpaper? Thanks in advance

i think this goes in the Q&A section. but to answer i dont think there is right now, unless you use a 3rd party app. but do people still use those anymore?
I would like a custom lock screen as well.
About as custom as ive seen is adding lockscreen shortcuts in liquidsmooth rom. I would like to be able to change the clocks color
This is something that I feel should be standard in Android, I mean at least the ability to change the wallpaper. We shouldn't have to use a 3rd app to do the basic function. I know most custom Roms enable you to do this but android is about customization.

GO Locker is an app in which you can download many lock screen themes. No root required, I use it on most all of my android devices! I reccomend it. :good:

If you have Xposed, you can use XGels to accomplish that.

I dont want root the phone.. buy may be is the only way
You can try downloading Nova Launcher from the play store (or another launcher if you prefer, but Nova is often regarded as the best). It's not the stock launcher but it is very feature rich and runs like a charm. The only thing you'd be missing from the stock launcher is swiping left to Google Now, but there's a million and a half other ways to use a shortcut for Google Now. I personally don't miss it much.
Anyway, now that I've gone off on a tangent, yeah Nova Launcher let's you customize the grid layout of your home screen. I use 5 columns (like the 6P) and it really is great.
As the rest mentioned your only two possibilities are to root your phone and install xposed then use something like XGels or GravityBox or Install a custom launcher. Your best bet for custom launcher would have to be Nova Launcher as it's the closest to stock. You can even set up vertical scrolling. I'm rooted and my launcher of choice is Nova Launcher. Trust me Google Now is not as good as you might think.

Did you update the Google launcher? I seem to have it, not sure if its a feature of the ROM I am on or not which is why I am asking if you updated your Google launcher app.
yes, i have the last version, but no 5 icons in a row...
nice clock/weather widget, what is it?

I even changed roms, and I still have 5 icon rows...so I guess it could be the rom
Go Weather Ex, I am not a fan of them usually (due to their ads) but I couldn't pass it up...and its free.
I use Apex Launcher and can customize it many different ways.

What number are you on? I'm on 560 DPI
Not sure how many places i've answered this question, but anyway...
- Remove LauncherConfig, which is locking rows to 4 icons from /system/app
- Reboot
- Wipe data on Google App
- Go to home screen
- You now have 5 icons per row
No need to use another launcher or Xposed apps or DPI changes if you're rooted and want to use GNL with 5 icon rows, as it should be.
It's incredibly dumb how Motorola is setting Google's launcher up that way with a phone that has a large display.
This works on Marshmallow too.
Thanks. This worked with out an issue.
Omg have hey still not changed this by default yet ?

You rock. This info should be in the FAQs at the top.
CAVEAT to the rest: This will reset all your screens to the default. Now's your chance to clean up all those friggin icons all over the place.

I checked on system/app but I don't see launcherconfig. Is it inside of a folder? I'm using root explorer

If you're rooted, why not just use this command in terminal?
pm disable com.motorola.launcherconfig
I haven't used it, but don't see why it wouldn't work. Also avoids any modification to system partition.

BLU r1 hd 16/2 Lockscreen

BLU r1 hd 16/2 rooted & debloated V8.3 rom
Good day, I've noticed that while using an MP3 player I'm able to manipulate the lockscreen by displaying the album art. I'm guessing it's the same route that the Amazon ads used.
Are there any apps just for wallpapers that I can use to have a lockscreen wallpaper that's different from the home screen? Or has anyone developed any alternative way to change the lockscreen wallpaper?
Would really appreciate the help! Thanks!
I do not know of a native way to change the wallpaper on the stock lockscreen but if you aren't opposed to using a third party lockscreen, then just download one from the playstore. I currently use zui lockscreen on my BLU R1 HD. It works great and you can customize the lockscreen wallpaper to whatever you want. Just remember if you do decide to use a third party lockscreen, then you will have to disable your system lock/password/pin. Set system lock to swipe.

Yes that works but then you end up with a double lockscreen. You have to unlock custom locker and still swipe the stock locker. Which by the way still loads notifications and it just looks weird.
How do the MP3 players do it and how did Amazon? They kept the transparent stock lockscreen but displayed an image behind it.

Actually, I do not have that double lockscreen issue, at all. My current lockscreen operates as though it is the native lockscreen. Although, it would be interesting to know how the issue at hand was implemented by BLU/ Amazon. I however am just a user of cellphones, not a programmer or anything. You should try ZUI Locker and see if it does give you that double lockscreen. BTW, I'm rooted and de-bloated so I don't know if your phone still has ads being displayed. If you still have the ads, then you may still get that double lockscreen you mentioned.

you don't have the double lock screen? Is your Blu the prime version that you rooted? Can you set your stock lockscreen to "none" or just "swipe"?
I'm not seeing any ads at all anymore it's just the stock lockscreen just remained. I unlocked and rooted using @mrmazak tutorial. Which one did you use?
Edit - I tried ZUI Locker like you suggested and it WORKED!! I'm in shock. This is the first one that has managed to get rid of the stock lockscreen. Thanks a lot!
