[HELP] No IMEI and signal - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hello guys,
Short version:
My O4X suddenly lost signal and IMEI, look likes hardware problem. But when I reflash with V20A kdz, it works then after few restarts, It happens again.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Detailed version:
- I was on CM11 nightly (20140923) for some time, it was smooth and no problem but then suddenly lost imei and signal.
- Tried to flash and wipe the latest nightly without luck
- decided to try the V20A kdz and it works again for few restarts (root and stuffs)
- Tried kdz without doing anything, just restart. After 3 restarts, lost IMEI again.
Thank you for your time and thank you in advance.
Also the friends here have similar problem but mine is still flashable... not sure for how long

I have your s problem and dont know what i will do. If you can. Please help me/

i have the same problem with my p880

I had the same problem...
In my case, as far as i can tell is hardware related.
The connection (imei and baseband) returns only if i use brute force, and start to press the phone very hard near the edges, near the the sim. .But they disappear if i turn off or reset the phone...

Is hard to take pictures because this is not a tutorial, i press different parts every time i lost my imei, until it works. What i do is pressing really hard (even bending a little the phone) everything above the battery, especially the sim card holder. Sometimes take 5, 6 , 7 attempts until the signal returns. When the phone turns on wait a little, because takes a few minutes until the signal returns.

I have kind of the same problem, but with slight differences: if I restart the phone, most times than not I get the signal back (at least for a few more hours) and using Zaiben's RC17 ROM it manages to get the signal back by itself after a while, no reboot needed. What I've found to be a "hack/solution" for this problem is to use the app Tasker to change network mode from 3G to 2G when the screen turns off. It appears than while in 2G this problem doesn't present itself...

@sergiohinniger apparently your brute-force method kinda works for me as well.
My phone started losing IMEI and baseband version after I replaced the audio jack and "small" PCB (the one with USB - now I'm back with original one). I then re-chcecked all connectors and coaxial cable, but the issue persists.
I think it works after few reboots with pressure on the back, so I believe that most likely it's caused by some bad cennectors. I have no idea though what to do with that Help, anyone?

It's true, with Zaiben or any stock roms the signal returns far more easily and sometimes resists the reboot. But now i have a new problem, the mac address, even when the signal returns, stay 00:00:00:00:00:00. I can only fix with a mac spoof app. This problem doesn't happen when i use custom roms, but the 3g signal is harder the return.

Some news, bad news
I have asked some repairers and here is their answer:
It's baseband file problem, if you have original Nandroid backup then it might help otherwise you can say bye bye to it

basically, the baseband/IMEI file is damaged due to flashing rom, if you dont have origianl file, there is noway to save it
Sorry for bring back a dead post, I think it's a good infomation for people

Need Help "LOST IMEI and Baseband Unkonwn"
I was using Euporia 5.0.1 on LG 4x
I received update notification and I downloaded Update.zip ( which included to 5.1)
By mistake i flashed the zip directly from CWM ( without Formatting any partition )
after restarting there was no IMEI
Following things I have tried
1) Trying to flash Original V20C KDZ. via LG Flash Tool. ( I think it checks for IMEI , and that's why stuck in between)
2) Use LG Software Update tool. ( also can't progress with IMEI)
3) Flashed Original V20c Flashable zip from CWM (But it didn't restored my IMEI)
4) Contacted LG Service Center, and They say You need to change whole Motherboard. ( I was Shocked to know that )
:crying:
If anybody went to same problem. and resolved .
Please Guide me.

A repairer told me that some rom might contain RIL or baseband bugs that accidentally **** up our IMEI partition/files, so if you have NANDroid backup then try to restore it

Flashed kdz with lg software, imei and boot problems.. Help please

. I flashed the KZ file with lg update software as explained in the XDA thread but I could not get the process to work right. My phone kept disconnecting at 28% and it would not turn on no matter what I did. It would only make a short vibrate as if it was turning on, and the computer would notice it but only for a short time. And never once did a light on the screen, or LG logo, or anything at all ever appear.
I figured I had really screwed it up, but when I plugged it into the wall it booted up perfectly. All my data was in tact and the rom i had flashed through cwm was still there, not the kdz file that I flashed with the lg software.. I noticed that my sim card did not come up as being in the phone at all. I looked in system setting status and noticed that all info related to my imei said unknown. I opened up the mfg app (277634#*# from the phone app).. Under "version info" then "factory version" my phone now says xmm6260.. It always used to say p925..etc... Even after flashing the zip to debrand from at&t this never changed from p925 even when every other aspect of my phone has.. I was hoping maybe once I put in an activated sim card everything would be fine and my phone would be unlocked which is why i flashed through lg software.. But seeing as how other people are having this similar issue and their phones not seeing the sim card, well im looking for some advice.. Should I try and re flash kdz file through lg software again? if i do, im going to do it on my XP computer this time, not Windows 7..
Just wanted to add that I did try wiping data and cache from cm and no dice.. Root and CMW work fine but no matter what I do, if my phone is turned off, i cannot boot up or boot to cwm or boot at all unless i plug the phone into a wall carger and then once its on it stays on and i can unlug.. SORRY ABOUT THE LONG POST, THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP..
I would reflash CWR first and foremost, then try to flash back to stock.
No IMEI/GSM Radio
Hi, were you able to fix your problem? If so, could you please give me a hand, I have same problem.
Im attaching a couple of screen shots, one where you can see that IMEI is not shown and other is where you see the phone number thats on the SIM but has a sign like if no SIM were inserted.
Using the KDZ detects the IMEI, but after flashing it doesnt show up on phone.
Thanks
Took my phone to a cellphone shop and they fixed it. Everything is back to stock and working normal.
Hi ive got the same problem, did you fix it?
Yes, my phone is working perfect at stock. Im going to wait for GB ir ICS with a working 850MHz baseband.

[Q] ICS Lost sinal and +00000000 phone number

Hi guys,
I already have some experience in changing ROM, and so on.
Recently, I gave up the experimental ROMs that have always worked well for back to cyanogem stable 7.2.
The first week was very good, but in one afternoon, for no apparent reason, my signal disappeared. The smartphone settings showed me that my number was +0000000000, the imei was shown correctly, but for some reason imei_sv was unknown. Put other roms, but the problem persisted. So I decided to go back to the stock ROM, I lost my root and CWM. Surprisingly, at first, I could make a call and receive another. But after the excitement, the same problem again.
Sometimes, the settings show my number correctly, others turn to show +000000000 ...
Nevertheless, the display shows me a good sign, and the phone recognizes messages in my mailbox.
* Detail: I can not in any way put CWM. I spent the whole day trying, and absolutely all the methods that the internet gives me do not work.
UPDATE: Finally now I have CWM, but the problems are present.
Rom: European stock v30a - Android 4.0.4
Baseband version: 1035.21_20121130
If someone can help me, would be very grateful!

I did not do this procedure. But I turned it into a brick, and formated all partitions and redid them with a fantastic tool here forum, All-In-One Toolkit -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php? t = 2020737. This procedure can, by itself, restore a corrupted imei or delete data cal?
If not, how could I do this? And because it is corrupt without any procedure? I was at home and no apparent reason the phone lost signal. At 13:00 he had signal, and at 14:00 had no more.
I considered another possibility: virus in sim card.
This test will only be able to do tomorrow, using a sim card that is not "infected", if that would be the problem.
UPDATE: Today I bought a new sim card and tested it with the stock rom newly formatted. I had the same problem, but strangely, the first few minutes of use, everything works. After a few minutes of use, the signal sim no longer works, and after a few hours, the smartphone connects on a rece wifi, but the signal does not stabilize: connects but does not have internet access.
REALLY DO NOT IDEA HOW TO SOLVE THIS!
I really need help!

You really should try Erase CAL data. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087215&highlight=wifi the first Post what you need. If you having problems with restoring your imei then use putty instead of hyperterminal
I did not do this procedure, but deleted all the partitions and redid them, and I believe it made the signal back. Thank you all for the help!
UPDATE: The problem is present again! I restored Imei, erased CAL data, change billions of basebands and no sucess. If I search for networks, it´s fix, but only any minuts, and the problem returns again. I have sucess for any days, but the sms were frequently lost, and after, my signal losts completly. It´s a possible hardware problem?
I really need professional help of my friends of XDA.
You are tried to erase cal data again by smartflash using 30B Rom and Baseband 30B?you o2x is from china or korea?

-factory reset from phone
-nandroid restore
-flash again 4.1.2 for 4-5 times (different stock roms with different kernels)
-flash custom rom ( different kernels)
-restore again data from nandroid
I managed to work wifi at one moment but at first restart i loosed wifi, so after i read a lot of forums, tricks i de
decied to flash again 4.1.2 ( bad move from me) and let KIES update my phone to 4.3. ( i read this thing on one forum and that guys said managed to work his wifi) but nothing happened.
Then i do the same thing like before on 4.1.2 : power off , clear cache, factory reset, flash again, etc.........
At one moment the wifi managed to work but for 5-10 minutes after that nothing.
Im very sure is not a hardware problem, more software problem kernel + modem or anything else.

Hi. I have the same problem.
Did you solve it anyhow?
Unfortunately I could not solve the problem alone and I resolved to a service center where we changed the wifi chip because it was broken.

Now i don't need files anymore, aparently was not a software problem was a hardware problem.

Phone doesn't read my SIM

I have been using CM11 (14-03-2014 I believe), without major problems until yesterday. Sometimes my phone seemed to disconnect from my SIM and I had to re-enter my pin code to reconnect to my operators network. But as of yesterday my device doesn't seem to recognize the SIM card, It doesn't ask for a code at all and can't make any connection whatsoever. I didn't change a thing, this problem started out of the blue.
I wiped cache and dalvik, updated to the latest CM nightly (08-05) but that didn't make any difference. In other threads I read about the baseband that might need an update, but I can't check which version I have now because when I try to enter the hidden menu I get the no network connection error. The strange thing is that CM11 has worked with (I guess) the stock baseband.
Is my phone tripping or could it be that my SIM card is broken?
Help and thoughts will be very much appreciated
Try it on stock to be sure about it.
After some searching I found a phone that could fit a regular SIM card, a Blackberry 9900. My SIM worked perfect in this phone, so that is not the problem.
I Also did a complete wipe and installed a stable version of CM 10.1.3, but that didn't seem to help. I hoped that a downgrade would have done the trick. I might try a ICS ROM or the stock firmware, but I kind of lost hope and i'm starting to think this problem is hardware related in stead of software. I'll report back with results on stock firmware and the ICS ROM.
How can I make sure the SIM reader in my phone is working properly?
Sorry for double posting, but I got an update:
SIM wasn't working with ICS so I decided to go back to the stock ROM. However, when I tried to flash V20B.kdz with KDZ_FW_UPD, the program got stuck at wParam=2010 and iParam=210. The phone is now stuck in S/W Update mode, and I haven't found a way to restore it yet. I will argue a little more with my phone when I get back from work, I'll open a new thread on how to unbrick when I can't do it myself.

[Q] Xperia Z c6603 Sim card not detecting problem

Hello Friends,
I am sorry to create this thread if already a discussion going on under the same topic( I am that much frustrated as well as desperate). I updated my set to 10.5.1.A.0.292 few weeks back & when it reboot I get a popup window saying nfc firmware update error 000004 which is present till the date. Then it starts a new issue like loosing the signal and reinserting the sim card rectifies the issues at first. Few days back it completely lost the signal & a sign appeared on top right corner like a red "X' mark with sim card.I tried to reinsert the sim and when I does the set shows 'sim card inserted , restarting' but after reboot again no signal, when i removes the sim again it popup as 'sim card removed, restarting'.
I tried many other sim cards. Result is same though all are working in other phone. I tried every thing starting from factory reset to flashing using PCC as well as Flash tool but still the problem persist. When I flashed CM 11 and searched the set shows all the available networks ( Though no signal was showing in status bar) but fails to register in any of them. Any idea what happened to my set and is it curable. Please help it doesn't have warranty.

does it work for CM11? maybe there is something wrong with your hardware, check what does it display on baseband, maybe try a reflash once again.

Hello Zennis thanks for the reply. I tinstalled cm 11 on it and then also there is no signal bar in the status bar but under mobile operator option i was able to check the network and all the available network were showing there but when i tried to connect my service provider it failed. I dont think there is a hardware problem coz i use it that much careful and hardly 5 minutes before this issue i attended a call.
Looking forward for your valuable reply.
I think its a baseband problem.... I previously faced problem like no signal,no imei,no wifi, etc...then i flashed different version of stock .ftf
And my problem was solved.

3, I made a ftf bundle as per his guide and flashed it. Wola it succeeded:good:.. Now I am using my set without a hitch for last 48 hrs.
4, MY NFC firmware update failure is not cured although but i am not bothered about it..

Hi puneet its sad to know that you too are in same situation. As I said in my post the unit was functioning for about several weeks and suddenly it fell into no network state again and this time all my trials went vain. I just sold that unit at a cheaper price to a mobile repairing shop. i dont know what they have done with it. In my opinion dont waste your energy for xperia crap.
Thank you & sorry that i cant help you.
