SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by the public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.
SlimLP is currently in alpha / beta stage, some custom features are already in place, but much much more is planned for the future.

Amazing rom! There isn't any noticeable bugs that I can see, multitask is a beast, and battery life so far lasts about the whole day using about 2% battery per hour. I used your pink kernel with intelliplug on. The only thing that seems to not work is changing the governor. It always switches back to interactive. Other than that, very impressive for an alpha build! THANK YOU!

No. But if you're coming from CM a data wipe is needed likely which is why you're probably in a bootloop. CM 11 --> CM12 should be fine with data. CM11 --> other lollipop based roms = most likely a bootloop.

Does it include fm radio?

Yes, and it is working very well.
Great work for a alpha version.

The first boot will take quite awhile so just be patient. Also, it seems I can't set my own ringtones and notification sounds.

Im coming from the original ROM, with root and some mods from Xposed... Did a wipe factory (TWRP), installed ROM and then Gapps, First time took more than 10 minutes to boot and nothing.
Now I did wipe cache, data, dalvik and system, then reinstalled everything... Again it is taking more than 10 minutes to boot.... I will wait more 10... lets see, hope it boots!!!
update: 22 minutes waiting, I guess it will not boot... any ideas?
Thanks guys!

I first flashed an unofficial build of cm12 (before the issue of builds needing to have cm 11 installed first) then let it boot, then after that go back to recovery and install SlimPL
Took 5-10mins to boot
Sent from my XT1045 using XDA Free mobile app

Thanks, its is "upgrading" right now, what I did was get a CM 11 (pacman Rom) installed it , rebooted and flash Slim ans Gapps...
Now I just got a process com.android.phone has stopped...
lets see... Thanks
Edit: Telephone not working... cannot make call or use data and clock not working as well. installed CM 11 and CM12 and them Slim and same problem happened... CM12 working fine

After installing cm12 unofficial, i just did the normal wiping process dalvik data dalvik cache system & factory reset, then it booted

When I do this my phone just stay on the Slim boot screen...
For now I will try CM12 and when I get some more time I will try to use Slim again, need my phone working to work
Thanks guys! if someone come with some solution I will be glad to try...:good:

I flashed this kernel & it stopped mine sticking on the slim booting logo

Just flashed the Jan 11 build(with basketbuild 5.0 gapps), seems pretty solid.
Noticed a few things, though:
There's no outgoing/incoming indicator for network activity for Wifi and Data(the arrow up/down on their respective icons)
Total display seems zoomed out a bit? In a nice way
Carrier name on lockscreen is a little to the center, shouldn't it be on the left?
Camera's not working for me, even google camera(freezes upon capturing a photo, though can swipe from left to bring up a menu)
AudioFX isn't working for me, tried playing around but couldn't get it to work with Google Play Music, can't really tell if it's the player or AudioFX as there's no stock Music player to try on
Superuser out of the box is not working, though flashing SuperSU 2.40 worked.
Had a random reboot while playing video, probably nothing
Other than what was mentioned, really enjoying this rom and already planning on using it was my daily driver. Cheers!

Great ROM over all. Got a few issues:
1. When you try to import contacts from a backup on the phone it crashes the import (finding file via file manager then opening that way works fine)
2. When I use camera it will take pictures no problem but wont save them. Also when you press the back button when camera is open it won't close. Have press home for it to close. Does this on other camera apps and other lollipop builds so maybe a cm12 issue.
3. When enabling the dark theme in messages it doesn't do anything (cm12 issue would say)
I flashed cleanly per the instructions.
Would be nice to be able to change battery icon and have a clear all under open apps option but these are just extras can love without.
Thanks for your had work so far

PAC stands for ParanoidAndroid + AOKP + CyanogenMod. It is mainly a cm10.1 base rom with the PA features and AOKP settings.
I decided to port PAC to our GalaxyTab 7.7 after testing it for a few days on my Nexus 7. It has the status bar in Extended Desktop that I want...Although it is harder than I thought, it is done.
Cheers!
You probably need a factory reset (even from my cm10.1 and pa3) to let the AOKP services working properly.
Do aware of the eMMC brick bug!
Good luck!

It is quite a while that I haven't update the ROMs. We are having a long holiday which allow me to work on my belove 7.7 again. Stuggling for a few days with cm10.2 on the flu. No luck for 4.3 yet! It just reboot after showing the lock screen...
The least I can do is to upgrade the existing 4.2.x. The cm source is mess up alot when trying 4.3 so I go directly to PAC. It is the release version of PAC now and probably the last 4.2.2 PAC. I'll try 4.3 again when I'm free...

FAQ
Q: Where is the developer options settings?
A: the "developer options" is hidden in 4.2.1 (cm10.1, pa3.0)
 to show it in settings:
 in:
  settings > about
hit the "build number" 7 times (hints will be shown after the 3rd time)

Q: How to avoid the emmc brick bug when flashing
A: if coming from stock ics. Here is one of the easier way:
flash the rom (and gapps) in recovery. don't do factory rest and any wiping!
reset to recovery again.
do factory reset or wipe data
reset and enjoy!
Click to collapse
Q: How to set the InCall screen to protrait?
A: In 4.2.x, the InCall screen orientation is determined by the calling card which doesn't handle rotation.
Hance remain at 0 degree (Landscape for our tab) all the time.
To set the inCall screen to portriat, you need an external app (eg. Ultimate rotation) to force Contact.apk to portriat.

Q: How to avoid error messages after a dirty flash from PA or cm10.1?
A: After a dirty flash (without factory reset), you may encounter a series of error dialog (mostly the xxx.acore.xx process).
This is deal to the mismatching layout data when attempt to sync. You may try this:
  Settings > Apps > ALL
Clearing the data of Contact Storage, Google Contacts Sync and some other apps might need sync...
If still doesn't work, it's about time to do a factory reset...

Awesome surprise
Outstanding effort as always. Thank you Sir.
Exciting work, Daniel. I'll be trying this out this weekend. Very curious to see reactions to battery life, WiFi, GPS, etc.
Hey Daniel, super excited about PAC for 7.7, thanks so much for your hard work!
Which kernel did you use for this ROM, and are previous kernels still compatible with it (e.g. kernel-a and -s from 2 jun)?

It is the kernel-s at Jun 2. The kernels I posted earlier is woking on this rom too..
Wow, great ROM(s)
Do you ever think you'll build an AOSP ROM with stock Android?
Quick share of my first impressions:
quick share of my first impressions:
Pacman ROM is booting fine on my 6810. Had been short in time and therefore just tested for 10-20 min.
I came with a dirty flash (no wipe) from PA 3.60 over (again for one day) cm 10.1 to Pacman Rom + the linked PA-gapps from june.
As usual when doing a dirty flash and experience problems with processes like “package helper” or “android.process.acore” or else: it is always useful to quickly remove the google account and clear all app data for everything which is google and framework related.
(Clearing contact storage solves for example the “acore” problem. I always clear all of the rest like package helper, google playstore, all backup things and so on and so on. – it is faster than making a full wipe)
Coming to the rom:
Everything I tried out in this short time is working fine. Wifi, Camera. Performance is good, similar to PA 3.6 (I always felt that CM10.1 is more fluid). In performance settings I had not been able to go >1400 MHz but with other tools I went back to the OC value of 1600 MHz. Hybrid settings work as they should. For testing GPS I had no time left, work was calling me back to office.
Ram consumption is a little bit high!
But next time I will choose different gapps package, because this installs tons of gapps, which I actually do not need on my tablet. And then I will look what else apps integrated into the rom is eating memory. - I like tuning!
As obviously expected “pimp my rom” is working fine and the mali-status from the i9100 brothers is not working (think it is kernel related).
Since performance of hybrid roms as PA 3.60 and now PACman increased near to a CM10.1 level, personally I think I found a new daily driver rom.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Great work Daniel! Our savior and protector of our loved 7.7 tabs! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
It is very nice to know that you now use a new rom code basis and continue the highly appreciated work. – So thankful!!!!!!!

Can't wait for that, bcoz this rom is awesomee :good:
Briefly tested this last night. I did have to do a factory reset because of the FCs. Upon doing that, I restored my user apps with Titanium, and all seemed OK. However, I had some weirdness with the UI. For example, I did not get the "holo style" menu buttons (at the top right of the screen) in my apps, even where I'd gotten them previously (in PA 3.6). Also, PIE did not show all information (like connected hotspot and notifications). I also had trouble resizing widgets, etc. within ADW. So, I restored PA 3.6 for now so I have a usable tablet.
I'm not sure what happened. If/when I have more time to experiment, I will try again because I love all the settings options on this ROM! Seems like the best of all worlds!!!
Nice work dude, good luck keeping up with three roms tho
It's awesome rom Daniel thanks to you for super great work, I like this rom because it's have more features then pa
Thanks again.

Hi, I just tried the latest nightly for Pollux Windy, coming from cm11, I wiped everything and installed the rom and Bank's Core gapps for 4.4.2, after the initial setup a popup kept informing me that launcher 3 had stopped. Could this be because I should have used a more complete gapps package? Fortunately I got to go on Play store and download Nova, my preferred launcher and all is well! I use core gapps as that's all I need, should launcher 3 come with gapps or rom?
Tapatalked that shiznit.
Same here no matter the gapps pack, i tried 3 different ones.
Also as Vanir rom, when its in portrait no problem but in landscape, back key is calling google searchbar. I mean its like when u tap in search bar: keyboard popup and u cant get out from there...just by tapping home key
Sorry i needed tab so i flashed back cm, will provide logcat later...

If you would like to use TWRP Recovery with this ROM, you can use this app to install it
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...mer.twrpxperia
Also, this app allows you to come back to CWM if you don't like it. This app works on all custom ROMs (that have FXP-based kernel) and allows installation of TWRP to FOTAKernel partition.
Just flashed the latest windy nightly, and it softbricked.... The tablet won't even really even turn on for recovery. Thankfully, I have access to flashmode still.... I'll report back... If you are thinking of flashing this rom, make sure you know what you are doing...
*EDIT* Running stock 4.3.... I'm not very knowledgeable, but it seems like at least the 02, 25 nightly perhaps has a bad boot image...
NFC bug
Hey there,
first of all: Great rom! working fine overall. :good: Just one thing thats bothering me. NFC is always on and can't be turned off. Even tried to uninstall it using recovery exploit with Titanium Backup with no success...
I'm on the latest pollux nightly btw. Any suggestions how to get this solved? It really eats up the battery...
Did not find really much about it on the web. Just that this bug seems to be pretty common with cm11?
Edit: Don't know if anybody else has this problem... Just in case: I finally managed to solve the problem by unchecking NFC in options and then rebooting the device right from that options screen. After reboot NFC is successfully turned off.

Install Greenify app - then you can set nfc to hibernate when not in use.
This ROM is actually quite good. ART is working fine with this one.
The typical bluetooth bug is in this one too though.
There is also no double tap to wake.
Would be nice if the maintainer adds that into this rom if anyone is still reading this.
Latest nightly lags very badly. System reboots constantly... Unusable...

Also downloading. Thanks for the port!
Just what I was waiting for. Just yesterday I started trying different kit kat roms but none of them convinced me.
I have a few issues so far:
- I enabled root access but Titanium Bakcup complains that it can't get root access.
- It seems apps now take too much space. I installed 10% of the apps I normally used and they used half the internal memory space. Is this because of ART, which I enabled, or a "feature" of Kit Kat? Do you recommend using ART or stay with Dalvik?
- GPS doesn't work for Slim in 4.3 and 4.4. I didn't try 4.2. To make it work I flashed yagf2 and the expheria files.
Thanks for the awesome rom!
Thanks for you response.
I will include AngryGPS in next build to fix GPS.
Hmm, internal storage is little weird, but i think it is normal, only problem with storage started with installing XDA App.
Enable root acess in developer setting, tick: enable root acess for Apps and ADB.
ART isnt still good working, dont report BUGS, if ART is enabled. Use Dalvik
Thank for you review, hope that you will not change ROM, and keep using SlimKAT
Greetings

Don't know why, but yesterday I ported CyanFox, and in an hour you did and uploaded it. In the morning I ported Slim, like to download and too late. Well, why so?

Hi all,
Titanium worked again after leaving my phone alone for an hour or so. I also went back to dalvik following your recommendation.
I have one problem so far: I can't install the xda app. I get an error saying it can't install on internal memory or sdcard. I have no idea why this happens. I haven't had that problem with any other app I have installed: chrome, netflix, gps test, and around 20 more.
The great thing about Slim: 100+ MB free in RAM compared to the 40 I was getting with Avatar. Awesome job guys!

Do I need to do a full wipe to go to the new beta?
If so, can I do a full restore with Titanium afterwards?

You can do dirty flash, so you dont need to full wipe, but some bugs can happend.
For titanium, i already do that, and no problems.
you can try both.
Bye
I can't donwloag gapps!
I flashed without wiping and now I was able to install the xda app.

Unofficial OctOs 5.0.2

I ported OctOs using the CM12 device tree by @stargo to targa and have since ported it for our OMAP4 brothers.
Features: (will be added onto)
-CM based so expect those features
-Tentacles settings for more personalization
-SuperSu as primary su binary handler
-Omniswitch
-CM12 Theme Engine
-Fast.
-Snappy.
-Clean.
-Amazing.
Downloads:
The ROM is on my Gdrive.
I recommend PA Gapps.
Install:
Flash on a new ROM slot on the new SELINUX enabled SafeStrap by @stargo
Updates:
Since Lollipop is in early development, I suggest doing a clean install. If you wanna wipe system and caches only that's fine too but don't report bugs.
Bugs:
-LTE has a hard time sticking but my latest build *should* patch that. If you have issues (especially after reboot) go into settings and switch preferred network from 3g to 4g a couple times and/or toggle airplane mode. Hopefully this will be completely fixed in the near future, but it isn't as annoying as the orange data indicator on KitKat.
-Same bugs as CM12
If you encounter bugs please make sure that you clean install on a virgin ROM slot and include a step-by-step on how to repeat the bug and also include a syslog (get the apk from play).
Hope you enjoy the ROM

So I have the latest and greatest GApps running, but I cannot get into the ROM. I keep getting a FC for Google Play Services. Push ok and it takes you back to WiFi. Rebooted, reinstalled GApps, cleared cache, etc. Still no dice. I don't have too much to monkey around with it today, will try a new build once uploaded

What Gapps? I didn't have this issue on PA Gapps...try setting up without gapps first and flash gapps on a diff session. You're using as a wifi only device right? If so use the radio disable build.prop tweak. On initial boot turn airplane mode on to stop phone fc and add the build.prop line and reboot and flash gapps. that'll fix phone and most other issues if running as a wifi only ROM.

I tried both the slimmed down PA GApps, and I also tried DHacker's GApps from 12/21/14. I cannot get past the FC from Google Play Services. Will maybe give it the old college try later this evening. I am not seeing any issues really with CM12 based roms using them as a WiFi device, so I haven't felt the need to do all the things you are suggesting. If I have some time tonight, I will give it a go

Try flashing on a brand new virgin slot lol idk why but sometimes that fixes stuff
No luck, even after a fresh install in slot 2. I flashed @stargo latest build just a short time ago and zero Play Services FC. Very weird
I'm making progress with getting LTE stable. Expect another build late Sunday/Monday.

@rfresh mind sending me build.prop from RR? Or copy/paste it into a pastebin and send me the link..I don't feel like downloading an entire ROM and I need to compare some settings I've made. Thanks.

Edit:
Sync'd up and started another build with the phone patch in it. I'll check back in a few hours or in the morning to check build progress, with CM12 TE being merged along with lots of new code, there's always a possibility for a fail. Will build maserati and/or spyder tomorrow.
Uploading a new build+md5 using new commits from Octos and @stargo this build should be flashed on a NEW rom slot to avoid any bugs! This build also uses my phone fc patch. Oh and also has new theme chooser
Getting Better
Flashed first build, got API problems.
Flashed latest build, API is solid, but having Google Play fc with nano, pico, and normal gapps. Same with CM12. Flashed onto clean slot each time. SS 3.75. Also flashed ROM first, then rebooted and flashed gapps.
I remain optomistic.

Sorry man it's a chromium issue and it's being worked on! For now if you flash the first one and change the line ro.telephony.default_network=10 to a 6 in build.prop it will fix api issue but after each reboot you will have to toggle 4g as preferred network under settings...that's what I done and I'm using it as a daily. Again, sorry bout the issue and it is being worked on. Thanks for the report.

Cool. Thanks for the reply. I will get some sleep and reflash after breakfast. It looks great; might keep the Bionic relevant until I find my "can't miss" new phone!
Update:
Reflashed in Slot 3. Used pico, nano, mini, and full. All fc on Google Play Services. Radios are solid. Exact opposite of CM 12- I get com.android.phone fc and wifi network is forgotten at random. If I had a clue on how to code, I could figure out how to combine the working parts and make one good Lollipop for Targa!
Will try a different slot. Can I try a different .apk for Play Services?
If so, I can push it to the SD card and flash from there.
To elaborate on my idea:
If I flash the ROM first, it goes wonderfully. That's why I was thinking about just flashing the .apk's and building from there. If the Play Services, then Play Store work, then maybe onward and upward?
Some guidance on what to sideload first would be appreciated.
To Google I go!

I've already pulled a log bud it's a chromium issue and its not our device it's a Lollipop issue and I think Grommish made a fix and I'm going to try it out and build tonight after I make clobber. Do what I suggested about the first build inside build.prop. I use it as a daily.
It's nothing you can do about it it has to be done on my end while I build.

Lineage OS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Lineage OS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. Lineage OS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Code:
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
When coming from any other ROM, you must do a factory reset / clean flash.
The first boot can take a very long time. Don't assume that it is a bad flash, boot loop, etc. until it has sat for at least 5 minutes.

Installing now, will test and report my findings. Thanks for this! Been looking out for a while.
Edit:
So after using this rom for a day, I can say its quite stable for an alpha rom. It's fast, transitions and scrolling are smooth. I had absolutely no freezes, crashes or restarts. With some work, it can be a great rom!
This rom on my maxx is faster than my dt2 on 5.1..1 of course I havent added any apps yet but it is fast as ****
I can't wait to try it out soon. Just waiting to hear more try it out since my phone is a daily driver for work ><
I'm officially using it as my daily. The only thing that doesn't work that bothers me is the flashlight. Video recording actually works fine for me.
Device is a Droid Mini.

That is quite an endorsement for the ROM! As soon as the flashlight bug is fixed, I'm flashing!!
Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
No issues so far. Loving it as a daily driver. A third party flashlight app works fine. Stock camera didn't work at first, installed google camera which worked. Then I tried the stock camera again and it works fine, video and all. Weird.
Multi-windows also works fine.
All in all, great job and keep the builds coming.
I couldn't help myself, installing Apps now but yeah, no joke, this thing is smooth... Almost as smooth as my iPhone 6s j/k
Edit: been running for a few hours and it has bogged down a bit with all the Apps I've installed. Still not bad but getting some serious lag with the keyboard as I'm typing this...
Edit2: lag seem to be from BT, I toggled it and everything went back to normal. It was BT'd to my car earlier.
Edit3: loving this ROM! Installed Xposed and Greenify. Battery life so far is pretty good. Will continue to monitor and report back.

Bootlooped on a clean flash....just got stuck on the CM logo. Anyone else? DL's are good, TWRP at 2.8.7.0.
Edit: I'm on my third clean flash and it appears to be stuck yet again. I can't get passed the logo. What am I doing wrong? I've re-downloaded, all flashes appear to be successful, I believe my TWRP to be the latest. How long did it sit on the logo? When it's over 10-12 minutes I start over. Should I be changing the system format in TWRP or something? I've flashed all the 5.1.x roms and back to stock a ton, so I must be missing something here that I'm unaware of.

I'm not sure then. I unlocked way back on 4.4 with sunshine, but I have flashed new versions of 4.4.4 along the way. I know I'm on at least 6-7, and I think I'm on 7-2. I thought if I unlocked ages ago, the bootloader does not update with new flashes? Now I'm just unsure of this all. If someone can chip in with bootloader info for flashing 6.0, that would be great.

Thanks, I appreciate your help. Gonna be honest, I've never had more issue flashing stuff than I have with my Maxx. Seems there's always an issue, yet I always do it to myself with the want to flash stuff, ha.
Back on stock. If someone has any ideas of why it sticks on the CM logo, I'd be curious to try this again.
Can't thank you enough for this!! Flashing right now and will report back!

Well, it went fine - had to flash both rom and gapps one after the other without booting (as mentioned in first post). Everything seems to work. I'll report back after trying it out extensively during the next couple of days hopefully. Thank you again
Hey kude, i had the same issue. I know sometimes cm doesn't play well with a clean install. I installed a old snapshot of cm12 from a clean wipe. Then did a factory wipe(data, cache, and dalvik. No system and internal storage wipe) and installed cm13 over that with marshmallow gapps. Booted fine after that.
Its been a few days and I've had no problems. Great rom

This is good info, thanks! When I have some time to do this, I'll try your method. How's GPS on this new rom? All the 5.1.1 roms had finicky GPS and data hand off quirks for me.
I just wiped everything clean: Dalvik Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage & Cache. Then rebooted in Recovery and plugged in to PC and copied rom and gapps. Flashed both one after the other and rebooted. This went fine!
I'm using Google Maps and GPS seems to be behaving properly. Device is Droid Mini. The Speakerphone during calls and LED issue remains the same as in CM12.1. Speakerphone during the call does not work. It works as a mute button but neither sound goes out nor it gets in. Pressing it back restores the call. Notification LEDs does not work at all.
Yeah notification LED not working in CM 12.1 ..i hope thats working in cm 13. My device droid mini. Thanks Sir...
