hide specific app on recent app (lollipop) - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

is there a mod on this? I don't want my messages or hangouts to be included on recent apps.
thanks in advanced

I found one in playstore called hide apps. Works well with lollipop. Nothing to configure.
As soon as you hit home button that specific app you hide is no longer in recent apps when checking

On my Nexus 6 and probably on all phones, you can just swipe away any recent apps you want to get rid of.

Instead of being rude you might want to read it again yourself. No where in the OP or the title does it mention "latest app" just "specific app"
There are many apps that will hide apps from the task manager. As that is where recents pulls its app list from. So that might be something to look into.

The Xposed module named "app settings" will do this (and a lot more)
Xposed of course needs root.

yes. Works for me on 6.0.1, including hide app from recents function
Also works according to the unofficial list

Following your link told me that I'm using the wrong build of App Settings. For MM what works is the Pylers build. Tried it and works as advertised. Thanks!

I suspect that you are thinking about the task switcher menu (nav bar square button).
Being referred to is the section at the top of the drawer where it shows a list of 4 random applications that changes every time you launch a different one.
Edit: after re-reading, maybe you read it better than I did.

I never even use app drawer anymore.
I use "Auto App Organizer" to organize all my apps and then have shortcuts to categories on my home screen. tbh Its an app that is likley to be integrated into Android at some point, its that good (IMO).
BTW, You do know we have a Q&A forum right??

Did you read my post? Launch the app, once it is launched three little dots will appear at the top or bottom of the screen, these are where you enter any applications settings.

Try a long-press on the screen? Most apps will follow the android guidelines of using the 3 dots to indicate the menu, but others (especially homescreens) will rely on long-presses to declutter the UI.

Do you have checked that Box in Developer Settings for installing unsigned APK's?

I'm with the ARHD ROM 10.1 and I can not find the developer mode
Okay so that's Android 4.2.2.
Go to settings, info,software information.
In software information touch more.
Then you must touch up to 10 times in a row on Build Number.
The developer settings must be now in the normal settings.

Well for starters, thank you.
I have dev mode enabled, but there is no option for apk unsigned.Je still can not install a VoiceTalk
Do you have an overlay app installed? Pie controls, Glovebox, Sidebar or something like that? If so, pause or force stop it and install your apk and then resume the app.

I have no applications as you indicate.
it become complicated, however it is possible as this native application is integrated into some 4.2.2 ROM on HTC ONE
Your signature says you have a NavBar. I don't have a HTC One yet. Hopefully it'll come this week, but I do know that the HTC One doesn't have a navbar and if you have one, that could possibly be the culprit. Especially if it's the type that pops up when you hit a certain part of the screen like Paranoid Android Pie Controls. Usually these types of apps pause themselves when you're trying to install something, but it could be a bug, or something that hasn't been configured to pause and restart when installing something.
I'm not 100% sure this is the culprit, but it's a good possibility that you have an overlay app and just don't realize it. Pop up widgets, Unity type launchers, anything that pops up when you touch a certain part of the screen, but isn't shown otherwise.

Is the app from HTC or google?
I took a look on the link you have posted. It looks like an Apple/iPhone App for me.
But I could be wrong since I don't know how android apks look like in the inside.
When you try to install the app, is there an error message or anything else?

That could be what's stalling your installation. Go to Settings>apps and find it. Force stop it and then install your apk. You can then restart the navbar

[Q] Searching location

I've been getting a notification very frequently that says "searching location" and then a little while later says "location found." Is this normal? I have location set to high accuracy. I guess it isn't that big a deal, I just find it a bit annoying.
I think this has something to do with the moto app. Haven't figured out which part yet. But I got the same thing happening. Think it's normal

Yeah, I know what he's talking about.. But there's no entry for "command center" in the apps list (Settings -> Apps -> All) where you can disable it completely. Hence why I'm asking him if he knows the entry's name, so I can disable it.

Actually my bad - there was an entry for "Command Center" and it was already disabled. So to answer your question, disabling the command center does not fix this "Location Found" issue.
If this issue hasn't been resolved yet - Next time you see the notification, long press it in the notification drawer before it disappears and hit app info and it will show you what app it is. I'm not sure if you can disable it though

How to get small apps on xz3

Hi bro as In you know when you press the sqaure button and your recent apps come up there used to be buttons where they would pop up a mini window version of the app for example browser... It would open a mini window that you can move around ontop of the app you're already on.
"Floating apps" I don't want to install 3rd party application
I've attached a screenshot of a 3rd party app but it's exactly like this
