Thin but still tough case - G2 Accessories

Hi there G2 fellas! I'm about to get for my G2 it's first quality case. Ofc I've ordered a $1 ebay silicone case too, just to have a backup I'm seeking for a thin, but still pretty protective case aaand if it could cover the back buttons too, it would be great! I've noticed many people recommend the Spigen Slim Armor, but it doesn't cover the buttons and I'm not sure if the back cover won't interfere the wireless charging (also I'm about to try that universal microusb qi charger). Some cases cover the back buttons, but those are horribly huge, I would like to kind of preserve the G2's thinness, but doesn't look like it would be possible Any recommendations?
PS: What is that cutout in the corner of the Spigen Slim Armor for?

It's hard to find such a case. I'm personally using the spigen and while it does its job, I am searching for something a bit thinner while keeping the same protection. And it's hard to find.
The cutout is for a TV antenna for the Korean model.

does not cover the buttons, but I like the incipio feather - barely noticeable.

A couple of Horizontal holster case that fits G2+ slim case

The search function doesn't seem to be working right now.
Anyone know of a good horizontal holster case that will also fit a g2 + one of those slim cases like the Insidio feather cases?
I nee to know this too!
so far I found this pricey leather case that fits an S4 with a hard cover. Would probably fit the G2 with a hard case but it's very pricey.

Check out my post. There is a link to eBay. If you look at the pouches he offers. Just about any thing that fits a note 2/3 without a case will fit the G2 with a case I ordered 3 of them. All different. But they work with a ballistic gel case. Which is quite thick. Good luck.

So far the poetic slim hard case is great. Nice feel. Someone thought the case was part of the phone because it was slim and look natural. The case + g2 fit perfectly inside the reiko case. It's not snug and has room to breath and so makes it easy to remove the phone with the case. You could prob add a gel protector and it still fits in the case. Case was made for s3/s4. Best part of the case: the lid magnet is strong enough that the phone will not just fall out if it falls. Love the strong closure. Still waiting on the next "easy to remove" case to arrive.

So I got the second case and I love it better than the first. When I first saw it, I thought it was a weird design to have a middle just missing from the case. But when I got the case I thought it was the perfect design. No more having to push my phone up from the bottom and grabbing a piece of it to pull it out (with the idea that I might drop it one day). With this case, I just get a good grip on the phone and just pull the phone right out. Look at the third picture and you'll see what I mean. The case is built very well and rigid. I have the Poetic Palette slim case that points outwards so my phone is protected on the small piece that is exposed. The magnetic lid is strong enough that a good shake doesn't make the phone fall out. The g2 + slim case fit perfectly in this case. The amount of space available is just right to the point that the phone can freely come out the case when you pull up; now snugness, just the right amount of space. I don't know if a gel tpu case would fit with this case if used with the g2.
This horizontal pouch is my #1 for this phone; the other pouch is a back-up now. Maybe I'll get a gel tpu case to complement the 2nd case and use it when I need extra protection like when hiking or something.
Just my observation, I think any case that fits the Note 2/3 would be a just a little big for this phone. I think cases that fit the S4 would work with this phone.

Case War! Poetic Palette vs Diztronic?

I have the Sprint version of the LG G2.
Currently I am using a cheap generic case which I bought to just have one on the release date.
Now I want to get a better case like the Poetic Palette or the Diztronic.
Both cases seem great, but I haven't found any reviews comparing the cases.
Poetic Palette VS. Diztronic Matte TPU
Looking for:
Lip over the screen.
Little bulk as possible.
Non-slippery material.
Playing nicely with a screen protector.
Proper cutouts for all ports.
Some protection.
Staying attached to the phone.
etc!
Does anyone have any opinions on which case is superior to the other? and why?
Thank you.
i know this wasn't in your battle, but the Incipio Brig is an AWESOME TPU case. i can't say that enough. Of course, if you want something flat black, it's not right for you (it has a checkerboard pattern, which i actually think looks GREAT). But it is a high quality, STURDY TPU case.
But in response to your original battle, i prefer cases that cover the entire phone (like the brig and diztronic). The pallette is open on the top and bottom. not saying that's bad protection (it could be... not sure), it's just personal preference.
The Poetic doesn't provide any top, bottom or glass protection. The Diztronic(or any case with bezel lips) doesn't play too nicely with a full cut screen protector on this phone since the glass is bezelless. I've got a Diztronic and a Zagg HD screen protector that is cut to be "case-friendly", I couldn't be happier with my Diztronic.
What I have noticed is that all the cases for this phone don't play super nice with headphone cords, really cheap or bigger cords generally don't work that great. Other than that which is far more of an issue with the profile of the device, the Diztronic is flawless.

Wow, I have not seen any of the Incipio cases yet.
The Brig looks interesting, but the DualPro looks like another option.
I should have put a price range in the OP, the 2 I was looking at are about $10-$11.

Thank you both for pointing out the lack of protection on the top and bottom, I didn't notice that.
The poetic case doesn't seem to offer anything other than a $10 piece of plastic that makes the phone thicker.
I might just go for the DualPro one for $7 or $8 more but still pick up a Diztronic for a backup.
Thank you both for saving me from making the mistake of purchasing the poetic.
I voted for Poetic.
Just received the new Poetic (VZW), so now I have both to compare.
I just need something to cover up the slippery back (fingerprint magnet & accident-prone) and provide some
protection against scratches. Both are nice for $9. The poetic doesn't have protection on top & bottom, but
I think that makes it looks better ---> I voted for it.
I'm waiting for the Spigen Amour VZW to come out.
My own naked (10-day old) G2 glided off the table (damn slippery back) and dropped 3 feet onto the tile floor (face up)... lucky me, not a single scratch. I feel a little better now with the case on.

Have been using a Poetic for a month, couldn't be happier. Great finish, clean lines, tight fit. I'm careful with my phones so the top/bottom protection wasn't as big a concern as the feel of the phone, the fingerprints on back, and being able to set down on back without worrying about lens. The Poetic answered all those needs.
I voted for the Diztronic even though I prefer the look of the Poetic more because it offers more protection.

Great to hear that it's a good case, just ordered it myself.
However, I am concerned about cutting the protector. I guess I will go with normal size first, since it comes with 3 protectors, I will give it a try first. How far did you have to cut the protector? Do you have any pictures? I ordered the Pure Crystal Obliq protector.

Did you also check out D3O cases? T-Mobile now is the exclusive seller I believe, I don't know if you have AT&T or VZ, but I assume T-Mo cases should be compatible with AT&T except you may want to check to make sure there is 3rd mic hole on the back for AT&T.
There are two of them:
htt://www.t-mobile.com/accessories/lg-g2-d3o-impact-snap-case-with-cover-black.html
http://www.t-mobile.com/accessories/lg-g2-d3o-impact-shell-smoke.html
I am sure you are familiar with D3O? It's a gel that hardens upon impact.
The only thing bothered me was that visible orange strip. Why couldn't they make it all black...

Looking for a new case.

I currently have a body glove case and a screen protector. I'm wanting a case with the protection of the otter box defender but with a similar feel to what i have now as it's not very bulky at all. I have a at&t phone. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA08919W5928&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleMKP&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleMKP-_-pla-_-All+Cases+%26+Covers-_-9SIA08919W5928&ef_id=UyJb4wAABDAM6nfE:20140320220013:s oh yeah, the screen protectors i have aren't wide enough for the screen, they miss just a little bit of it on one side.
I know you like more protection for your phone but I've been super happy with a poetic slim case with no screen protector. There is a slight barely noticeable edge around the front so no problem laying case face-down on tables.
Poetic-Palette-Case-Black-Only (search amazon)
For a more protective case:
SPIGEN-Protective-Sprint-T-Mobile-International (search amazon)
About screen protectors: I used to use them on every phone but these days the glass material used is very hard to scratch and I think the protectors are redundant. But my phone is in my pocket mostly and I have only dropped a phone rarely. YMMV.
I have a commuter. Pretty awesome protection while not adding too much bulk.

If you want the protection of the otterBox without the bulk just go with the COMMUTER case by OTTERBOX

Use a TPU Silicon Case,i think this is the best for Every Phone.
Tudia-clear skin-Poetic
I was using the relatively slim Tudia case since the first day i got the G2. After a few months, even that case was too bulky for me. So I took the case off and tried IQ Shield's full body clear protective skin. It works great against scratches but I decided to go back to a case after i dropped it on some tiles and dented the plastic corner a bit. I will try the even slimmer Poetic now.

Hybrid Armor Shockproof Tough

I bought this for $5 CAD from ebay and it's better than my crimson Otterbox Commuter case for OPO 3. This case offers much better drop protection and it has a deep camera cutout. It is bulkier than Otterbox but comes with better grip as well.
These are offered in various colours but i went with black.

its a typical matte finish rubber. Its thick and smooth. cut outs are also perfect.
i bought it too this weekend for 3 usd i think on aliexpress.
Right before I buy this, how are the buttons on either side? How are the cutouts?
Some ebay cases I get make the buttons really hard to press.
Also, I use a metal plate to attach my phone to my car mount, do you think a very, very thin metal plate could wedge between the soft/hard casing? Sorry I can't provide a URL, but if you know what a "Spigen CD Slot Car Mount" looks like, you'll see the plate I'm referring to.
Appreciate it!

Getting a Note 9 soon: Recommend screen protector and case?

Hey all,
I'm getting a Note 9 soon here. I'm looking for recommendations on screen protectors and whether I should get a case for it. Ideally if I did get a case I'd want something as thin and unobtrusive as possible. I'm generally pretty good with phone and haven't cracked a screen on one yet, but I've also tried to be safe with them. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Hi Do you live in a country where you can make purchases from Amazon? I am not avoiding the question its just that there is a plethora of cases ranging from Samsung's own, that I use, to others from very well known manufacturers. With regard to a screen saver since Samsung went curved screen I have not been able to find a decent screen protector. I just don't bother.

Yeah, I'm in the US, so Amazon is the likely source.
I purchased the Amovo case:
https://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Note-...898636&s=gateway&sprefix=amovo,aps,467&sr=8-3
Mainly because the brown one matches my Metallic Copper Note 9 perfectly. It fits the phone really well and all the holes on the bottom line up exactly as they should. Also has decent coverage around the corners.
I haven't used the wallet very much, but the magnet is very strong and holds the phone solidly in place. The magnet is in the wallet and the phone case has 2 metal strips running down each side. Should work in magnetic car holders. No issues with wireless charging.
I like the iCarez screen protectors:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FMW9Q2B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Lots of holes along the top, but they all lineup really nice. Gives good coverage on the screen and doesn't interfere with the case I'm using. Also, it covers the rounded edges perfectly (some don't and allow dust to get under the protector).
Hope this helps.
I would highly recommend that your purchase the case for your device first, before purchasing a screen protector. So that they will both be compatible with each other.
I've the UAG case from here
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Cases by UAG- Rugged, Slim, & Lightweight – URBAN ARMOR GEAR
https://urbanarmorgear.com/products/plasma-series-galaxy-note-9-case
Been using it since the 1st week I got my note and it's been great! Also, dont know about screen protector as I dont have one. I've 1 designated pocket only for my phone and nothing else. My note 9 has ZERO surface scratches on the screen.
Anyone use the whitestone dome with a note 9? The thing looks impressive, but I'm a little worried about the cost and the "curing" process. Does it damage the screen if it needs to be removed/replaced later?
The Whitestone Dome TGSP has served both the wife and I very well. Since complain about "spidering" of the Loca glue. That has only showed up, after a drop for us.
There is a similar item, that is a bit cheaper on Amazon, that I've read good things about, that I may try next, if the need arises.
Roopose Galaxy Note 9 Screen Protector Tempered Glass,3D
I have seven cases for my Note 9.
UAG Monarch - I don't like the way it feels. It's nothing like the cases UAG originally made.
Spigen clear TPU - I forget the actual name, but it's the one that's flexible. I don't like it. TPU is not my thing any longer.
Spigen Tough Armor - (2) It is grippy and feels good in the hand, seems like it would provide decent drop protection, I just don't like the buttons. They are flush with the side of the case.
Rhinoshield Solid Suit - I use it for weekend or light duty day carry. It's a bit slippery, but is low profile and slides in and out of pocket easily. The volume bottoms are a bit difficult to operate.
Samsung Silicone Cover - It's very grippy, but because of this collects lint and hangs onto it. I would use this for light duty day carry if it weren't for lint and debris sticking to it. It's called "ocean blue" but does not match the ocean blue Note 9. It's more of a grey.
Samsung Rugged Protective Cover - I like this case. It's very grippy, without being tacky and seems like it would provide good drop protection. Some folks thin it's too heavy. It is a bit heavier than other cases, but if I'm not doing a side by side comparison I get used to it. I actually measured this and the Samsung Silicone Cover on the Note 9 on a kitchen scale and the difference was, with Samsung Silicone 8.75 oz
and with Samsung Rugged Protective Cover 9.55 Oz. I use this case for work day carry.

All achieved fast charging with screen off only. What an odd limitation to purposely build in. I was testing in order to see if a wireless charging nav dock is an option, but with no fast charge with screen on, the idea is pointless.
UAG Monarch
Spigen Tough Armor
Spigen clear TPU (I forget the name, it's the one that's flexible)
Rhinoshield Solid Suit
Samsung Silicone Cover
Samsung Rugged Protective Cover
I have not measured each one for thickness but I did measure the Samsung Rugged Protective Cover, which I believe to be the thickest of this bunch. The thickness of the back is approximately 3.6mm.
I've read some Amazon sellers state that their wireless chargers will not work on cases thicker than 4mm.
ETA, since the sun has finally appeared, here in the Pacific Northwest, I have noticed several small scratches on the Whitestone Dome Glass. It's been on my Note 9 for nine months. I don't think I ever noticed as many of any scratches on TGSPs I've used on previous phones.
Spigen Neo Hybrid and Whitestone Dome have been great for me!
stock plastic flip case, the cover can show LED time.
I would probably go for a force case and force glass since they are lifetime guaranteed and not too bulky.
Or a customized toast made one if I come across a nice idea.

Do you have links for force case and force glass?
What is customized toast?
Is that like Cylon toast?
I don't use a screen protector, don't think I really need one. Case, I have a ZeroLemon 10,000. Here are the downsides of the case, though:
No battery calibration - Once your phone battery runs low, you use the case as an external charger. I think this is all battery cases, though since you can't remove the battery and replace it with a larger one. I can go about 3 days without plugging my phone into the wall, though.
No DEX support - Remove the case for this
File Transfer is finicky - Remove the case for this
I haven't tried, but I heard it doesn't support NFC
No Fast Charging support
It's Heavy and Bulky!
The only reason I use it is because of the battery life, and I keep my phone in a bag, anyways. This case will more likely NOT fit in your pants pocket.
Oh, and also, I have large hands. It actually feels great to hold in comparison to just the phone. So, if you have large hands, that'd be another plus, as well.
im using the seidio surface case with holster and the whitestone dome tempered class screen protector.
not cheap but the results are nice.
