About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first created based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean because of curiosity. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device (EVO 3D). Since then many others have joined the project and it has grown a whole lot. We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours and many of our contributors have gone to help other projects and that is ultimately why we do what we do.
Once Jelly Bean was over, we decided in Kitkat to move to a new base which was OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting because it challenged us to see what we could with something different.
With Lollipop, we have moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. That said it has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward.
Few more things we will say is that we don't accept nor ask for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc.....
We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask is that you search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

I tried not too long ago, booted up fine but data and calls didnt work so i tried wiping everything then re flashing Gapps now im currently stuck in a bootloop.

How do I flash it?
You must be on a safe kernel and recovery. If you are not sure, check this thread out to see which ones are safe!
If coming from previous Nightmare Du 4.4.2 or official Omni 4.4.2 and you want to do a dirty install:
1. boot into recovery
2. flash the Rom
4. reboob
If coming from previous Nightmare DU 4.4.2 and you'd like a clean flash:
1. boot into recovery
2. do a full wife
3. flash the Rom
5. reboob
If coming from anywhere else:
1. download Raw r4 kernel from here, download the latest SuperSU from here.
2. copy Gapps, Raw kernel, SuperSU and Nightmare DU Zips to your SDCard
3. reboob into Recovery
4. flash Raw kernel
5. reboob recovery

Anyone getting error when try to open button settings on Settings? I'm getting FC everytime. I attached logcat.
I came from fresh install and did another fresh install just to make sure that the error still exist.

CAMERA: I would expect to work fully on the Camera. I reckon the ROM is based on OMNI .. OMNI default camera has a problem which is inability to set the focus mode to AUTO. I think it has to do with the camera app ... CM camera is perfect.

What we are looking forward to is pa cm omni like experience where original things are borned and little is modified , we are replacing stock android apps with apps created by the team all need to wait for this (music player , camera app , wallpaper app , ...) So please guys respect our desicion and try to adopt to us (we are new and still In baby stages) and push us to uniqueness .

Dirty Unicorns (DU) is a custom ROM originally based off AOKP, but now based from OmniROM. DU brings you a great mix of stability and customization. The idea to start a ROM like this was purely out of boredom, but later turned into a form of an addiction, a good one. We began to have fun while still doing things the right way. 1. Camera 360 is a 3rd party app. Contact the developer of that for the issue.

Hummmmm the auto flash of the camera doesn't work and when I try to share a picture from the camere to g+ the camera fc!
I'm sorry to say this but this release, for me, is not ready for daily use!
I came back when the rom is more stable!

maybe u skipped it on g+ ...i badly need to know what u modified in yuga tree cuz i tried with Odin's cm device tree and aokp ; i always end up with same error; with your fusion3_common or cm one its the same.

Am using ART by the way...
Hope a solution will come for the battery drain. CM 11 nightlies use (a little) less battery.

hum did u tried in dalvik mode??
are u using wakelock detector to target if its gplay services or something wich avoiding deep sleep on your cpu?
did u tried another gapps pack?
clean flash?

I got that too, but the theme was applied on reboot. This aside, everything seems rock solid after an afternoon on the ROM.

I'm waiting for battery test (I'm a battery eater LOL) Thanks for supporting Huashan even though you don't own it! very much appreciated! oh btw, Level sound of notifications and ringer is higher than Carbon Rom... love the Android L Softkeys If something else comes up.. Thanks for the quick reply.
Wakelock detector doesn't show anything in particular.
Have switched to Dalvik and the Android OS entry seems to have gone, but Anrdoid System is still there. Will try ART again to see if OS comes back...
Am using the pa-modular-micro GAPPS from 2014-08-11.
This is a clean flash (wipe all + format data, cache and system before flashing, + reset through the interface after first boot).
One other thing, I often get slow wake up when hitting the power button (anywhere between 1 and 4 seconds).
any logcat will be helpful and will compile next update with cm tree and kernel to see if it changes something

How to flash:
Instructions
Make sure you have CWM installed and a working nandroid backup
Download the ROM.
Place the ROM on your SD-Card.
Extract boot.img included in zip and fastboot flash it via Flashtool or CMD
Reboot to recovery.

At first, good job bro.... Nice to see another ROM from you.... But as I tried to download, it asks me to log in.... May be its some issue with sharing capability of the file.....
Just for the info I intend to ask, is the second mic working while recording a video ? As I believe, the problem still persists with CM. I am trying to keep up regarding the solution of second mic. @nostupidthing is trying his best to do so.... Did you find a way to make it work ???? Even if not, the feature list speaks a lot more than that....

I think that second mic is kernel related cause we have changed something in rom didn't made difference. and as this kernel is different this one might get worked!
@Alx31TLse THANKS A BUNCH for such a nice rom but keep in mind that writing flash procedure in the rom is always nice as many rom have their own flash procedure and can't be done by a standard procedure, unless flash procedure is just flash the rom !!as for miui if you wipe data after rom installed Miui is not going to be installed properly and as some other rom that has wrong data after installation we need to wipe our data . and besides no body can understand whether they can just update the rom (dirty flah) or they need to wipe their data after each flash :/
so please fill the flash procedure after this rom released.

I will modify download link asap...i was connected from my account when i put that link but anyways...my download folders are public on AFH, u can easily find it
I can also try to base it on aokp device tree and kernel+fusion3 if u guyz feels like aokp less buggy than cm

Guys, you can flash this "test" build with no problem. No bugs so far (1 day of use).
My friend @Alx31TLse builded maybe the most stable test build ever. xD
If you like Carbon, I think you will love AICP. It is very very... very customisable!

This one made me sweat and gave lot of headaches...happy to hear main functions are ok and less buggy than i tought...
And about torch i will find a workaround soon to bring it back to drawer.
As Thibou told me, app and hardware works (u can access via quick tiles) , only app missing from drawer as i had missing values from aokp torch app while building...
And maybe we may ask to adam fardlen from cm team to take a look at 2nd mic issue as they had same issue on Huashan and they fixed it...

It works also for me and other people...i suggest u to clean cache from your browser/app or simply use another one.

Do share the stability factors as well about the ROM.... Any bugs that you have found so far ????
I m on KK Stock .283 so willing to try a better ROM until an overclocked kernel is available....

Lack of drivers or...u have unlocked bootloader??
anyways its not the place to ask that since its not rom related but from your PC, rom boots and works ok.
Install everything properly, i speak about flashtool drivers
--->adb
flashmode
fastboot
and Z family drivers
reboot PC
Unlock bootloader
re-do kernel/rom flash process
if u still can't flash...please ask in Q&A threads. Thanks for understanding.

I skipped flashing boot.img with flashtool, just wiped data, cache, dalvik. Than flashed rom.zip from TWRP. It worked well. Previous rom was Carbon.
Some words about this rom:
Woooow, sooo many customisations, options... Very nice! I couldn't test it very well because lack of time. But it is too complex for me. In CarbonRom I have everything I need. Or just one thing, the Omniswitch I liked very much in this rom, so installed it on Carbon. You can find on xda omniswitch.zip flashable file for any 4.4. Works well!
One more customisation for share: there is an xposed module called chrome pie. It gives pie controls for chrome browser. I like it very much.
