[Q] Will Moto Maxx XT1225 ever get it's own forum on XDA? - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

I was wondering if the Moto Max XT1225 will ever get it's own forum here on XDA-Developers hopefully in the near future?

We can only hope.

[Q] Buy Moto X (1st gen) now or wait?

Hi guys,
I want to buy an unlocked Moto X (1st gen), should I buy it now ($ 350) or do you guys think the price will drop when we're closer to the new Moto X release?
I'm guessing that once the new Moto X becames available at motomaker, the 1st gen won't be available anymore, right?
I could wait until no further than Sept 20th because I don't live in the USA and a friend of mine is staying there until the end of the month so he'd bring it to me.
Thank you!

$350 seems really high when a new 2014 Moto G is selling for $179.
What does everyone think is a fair price for a used 2013 Moto X now that the 2014 Moto phones have been released ???
I bought a new Gen 1 as the Gen 2 offers me nothing I feel is worth waiting for, and I do not like larger phones.

I'm in the same boat and wondering the same thing. I currently have a GS3 and prefer to stick with the 1st gen Moto X.
I'd buy a developer's edition

[Q] Does the lack of LTE bands on the new Moto X Pure Edition bother you?

What is up with motorola, been reading several posts across the web and customers are not happy with the 2nd gen X.
Can anyone shed info on the 2nd gen LTE/bw issues?
Android Central, Motorola forums have unhappy customers
Thread already exists.

[Q] Soak Test for Moto X 2013 Confirmed as live by Motorola - Anybody have it yet?

Just done a quick live chat with Motorola support regarding Lollipop on the Moto X 2013 and he advised that the soak test is already under way. Does anyone have this update yet? I'm too impatient to wait for the OTA so wondering if anyone has the ROM uploaded anywhere bugs and all?
Not sure how to show screenshot on here but have attached a picture of the chat
The chat guys don't know that much... I would take anything they say with a grain of salt.
@richwright1, I wouldn't consider that "confirmed"
There is no mention of 2013 vs 2014 until you bring it up halfway through the chat, and the Moto rep never mentions 2013 vs 2014, or Gen 1 vs Gen 2.
I also chatted with support here in india.
he said that the soak tests are going on for moto g gen 1 devices in india and he had no info on moto x
I was on the 'MOTO X 2013' support chat and not the 2014 so the live chat was regarding the specific device already if that helps

Here in Brazil a friend of my also received information about the soak test of the 2013 Moto X in India.
Yeah they don't know anything about android 5 update . In morning i read that motorola has started chat support in india. So i thought i would give a try. Here is a screenshot of my conversation with motorola. They are not giving any information about update.
Its gonna be equal of the second generation, first the moto g and after that the moto x.

HELP !!!
GUYS GUYS HELP ME.
I'll keep it short. Moto X XT 1052 . Screen broken. LCD working. Getting just the SCREEN somewhere but for Moto X XT 1060.
Will there be any difference in the size, shape or compatibility between XT 1052 and XT 1060.
The catch is seller is selling XT 1056, 1058, 1060 outer glass at Different Prices. So, if screen size is same then why different prices ??
PLS HELP !!

You might have more success in a new thread, or another thread about the LCD glass, not the soak test.
To my knowledge, all the phones are physically the same size/shape/etc. The screen should fit regardless of what model it says it is for. Anyone else can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong in that thought.
Yaa buddy sorry for posting here. Wanted a quick opinion.
Even i feel that the variants shouldn't vary in the pricing, though i also have no idea why is the seller selling different variant screens at different prices.
I think that they are unaware of the variant number and have used it randomly. I think ill buy that outer glass and wish me luck that i could get it replaces successfully cuz its damn difficult and risky to do that ..

Android 6.0 update

Would it be available on our device?
Motorola hasn't specified which devices will receive the Android 6 update as far as I know.

Great news, thanks. No update for the original Moto G and Moto G 4G. That's a shame.
I'm surprised there's no Moto E or Moto E LTE there.
meanwhile still on 5.0.2

120$ Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo - Questions about it

Ok So I am planning to purchase a Droid Turbo but I want to ask some questions before I buy it
I heard that the battery is not so good even with it's 3900mah battery size, Did it become better on Lollipop or Marshmallow?
The camera takes slow pictures on Kitkat...Did that improve on Lollipop or Marshmallow?
The seller says it's GSM Unlocked,Does that mean I can get LTE data or only 2G/3G? ( I live in Jordan if that helps )
Is it good for the price range or there is a better phone out there for the same price?

The Droid Turbo is the XT1254. Comes in 32GB and 64GB varieties. For that price, I'm assuming it's the 32GB version.
It's a Motorola Quark. Verizon carrier in U.S. called theirs the "Droid Turbo". There are sibling models with the exact same specs --- just like an LG "G4" sold in England is still the same LG G4 sold in Brazil. Might have different radio bands, but is STILL the same "LG G4" -- same hardware, same specs, etc. For some reason Verizon wanted to claim "exclusive" when really they had none. XT1254 Droid Turbo/XT1225 Moto Turbo/XT1225 "international" Moto Maxx/XT1250 U.S. Moto Maxx is all the same phone. The XT1225 has different radio bands, but the XT1250 even has the same radio bands and same FCC ID as the XT1254 Droid Turbo.
Other carriers/other countries called it the Moto Maxx. In India Motorola called it Moto Turbo because there was a carrier called "Max or "Maxx" and Motorola didn't want people to think that carrier was affiliated with this device. Verizon sold the U.S Moto Maxx XT1250 but called theirs a "Droid Turbo". The only thing "exclusive" about the Droid Turbo is the locked-down bootloader.
XT1225 comes in 64GB only, XT1250 comes in 32GB only. XT1254 comes in 32GB/64GB.
The XT1225 has no CDMA bands but extra HSPA and LTE bands. Both the XT1254 Droid Turbo and XT1250 U.S. Moto Maxx have CDMA bands which you probably don't need.
The are all GSM unlocked. I have no idea what HSPA bands Jordan uses, but Wikipedia says Zain and Orange both use LTE band 3. All the Quarks have LTE band 3.
If you care about development, see if the the XT1254 bootloader is already unlocked. On the Droid Turbo XT1254 it can only be unlocked if it's on Verizon SUTL-44 firmware via $25 Sunshine exploit. If it's already on SUTL-49 and still locked, you are out of luck. The other Quarks have easily unlocked bootloaders via Motorola.
_______
The XT1225 and XT1254/XT1250 all share LTE bands 2, 3, 4, 7.
The XT1225 additionally has LTE band 5 and 17 (more bands used by AT&T).

The XT1254/XT1250 instead has LTE band 13 (Verizon LTE band), plus CDMA bands. While it does have some HSPA bands, there's not as many as in the XT1225.

otherwise the XT1225 (64GB) is the better phone for most people not on Verizon.
I've written about all this before:

Same information, just written slightly differently, maybe easier to understand.
Thanks for your detailed explanation
But you didn't answer my questions
How is the battery life on lollipop or marshmallow
And how is the camera capture speed?

I answered the questions I wanted to answer, about your bands. Zain and Orange use LTE band 3. That's the only carriers I can find in Jordan. All the Quarks have LTE band 3.
MY camera speed on my XT1225 is fine. If you use HDR, you will have slower shutter speed but better pictures. If you turn that off you will have faster shutter speed.
You're not going to get Marshmallow right now if your bootloader is not unlocked. The XT1225 has received official Marshmallow but the Droid Turbo XT1254 has not. There ARE Marshmallow custom ROMs available but you cannot flash them with a locked bootloader. That's why it's important you check what firmware that Droid Turbo has. SUTL-44 or lower, you are OK. SUTL-49, out of luck -- unless the bootloader was already unlocked before flashing SUTL-49.
Other people can answer the other questions.
I own three Quarks, so obviously I think they are great phones. I even sold a FREE LG G4 I won last year and bought a third XT1225 (for backup). Never used the LG G4 because my XT1225 was much better, in my opinion. My wife has one also.
And my XT1225 are the 64GB models with more LTE bands/more HSPA bands -- so more expensive than 32GB Droid Turbo variant.
Omg
You are extremely helpful!
Thanks!!
One more thing
I read that you have sold your G4 to get the droid turbo
Does that mean the droid turbo is much better than the G4?

It's very close.
The G4 has 5.5" 1440p LCD, the Quark has 5.2" AMOLED. BETTER display, and I actually like the slightly smaller form. Others may like the larger display, even if the AMOLED is better.
G4 had Snapdragon 808, Quark has the Snapdragon 805, but I'm not sure you would see a real world difference. Both have 3GB RAM.
Quark has built in Qi wireless. You have to buy a replacement back cover (about $12)to enable that in G4 (at least in the US). I actually did that before I sold it, to make it worth more.
The Quark has turbo charging (Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0), and so does the LG G4.
Quark has the Moto IR sensors. Moto Display. G4 doesn't have that, although it does have some IR sensors.
G4 has an advantage in microSD card expansion port. But I have 64GB internal storage on my XT1225. Still I'll give the G4 that point. If you are buying a 32GB version, keep that in mind.
The G4 has rear camera OIS, with laser focus. Quark does not. Another point for the G4.
However, my wife is Brazilian and we went to visit last year -- where we could easily use our XT1225. The Quark has all of Brazil's LTE bands (3,7) as well as all of AT&T LTE bands (2,4,5,17).
That tipped the Quark into being better for me. Others may see the G4 as being better.
If the XT1225 didn't exist, the LG G4 would be the phone I would have. Or the new ZTE AXON 7.

Yeah I am confused between them too
But I will be going for thr droid turbo since it's 70$ cheaper
Thanks for everything
You are one of the best helpful members in XDA that's for sure
You've already been given a lot of good info and I won't repeat that.
But whoever told you the battery life isn't good is deluded. The battery life of the Droid Turbo is excellent on the current OS (Lollipop). If it ever gets Marshmallow, the battery life will probably be even better. But it's one of the best phones available in terms of battery life, and for the price point on the used market, it's probably THE best phone in terms of battery life.
