FAQ
Q: I see you posted HKSettings.apk zip, what is this? Is this the full HK MOD?
A: No. This is not the full MOD. What you do if flash the HK MOD from the thread like you normally would. But then you end up with the wrong Settings.apk. I edited the Settings.apk from the ROMs I provided, so flash the HK MOD, then come download the correct HKSettings.zip and flash that and you are good to go. .
Q: What is the difference between v 2.0 and v4.0?
A: This started out as a port. so v2.0 is the latest version of the International based ported ROM. It it 100% stable and you are very much free to use your new Lollipop firmware and this ROM. v4.0 is now based off of the Sprint OTA Official System Dump. The MOD Pack is updated and ported to the Sprint files, so there shouldn't be any issues. If there is let me know and I'll do my best to fix it..
Q: I want to request a MOD, how do I do this?
A: Lyapota is the master behind all of these smali MODs. His thread can be found here. Please direct all your questions about the MODs and requests to his thread. Also please give his thread a 5 star rating and hit him up with a thanks. .

This was asked of me to do - I am not usually one for porting, however I am starting to get into it, and enjoy it.
I hope you enjoy the ROM. I will do my best to keep this thread as up to date as my Verizon thread.
Please let me know of any bugs, I believe MMS isn't working but LTE and APN should be set correctly. (I hope)
EDIT: All bugs, such as Data, LTE, MMS, are fixed.
v2.0 is a port.
starting with v4.0 this is the OFFICIAL Sprint OTA Based ROM. All apps came from the OTA base for Sprint. All smali MODs are coded into your Sprint Official Files, same with the MOD pack. Clean.

Wow didn't expect this

This is my first port to another carrier, I'm curious if SMS is set right with APN, is LTE working, data, MMS?
Once you guys have a chance any feedback is appreciated.

I flashed this, clean flash on latest sprint firmware 4.4.4 coming from another lolli build. It booted up, went through the upgrading/optimizing apps, then immediately went to the screen shown in the screenshot. I let it sit for 10-20 minutes with no change. Even tried flashing it a second time with no wipe but to no avail. Did I do something wrong?

Did you try rebooting the phone? May seem like a silly question.

Yeah a couple times. First thing I thought of after the possibility that I need to flash a custom kernel. But I didn't flash a kernel with it.

Did you get it running? If so what firmware are you using and what recovery? I've heard some Roms flash with twrp and some refuse it so you have to use philz.

Make sure to check MD5, and maybe try TWRP, that's what I use personally.
I can't really say which firmware to use as I'm building blind here - but if it works on one it should work on the rest.

Nice looks good!

Hmm I use twrp. Updated to the latest 2.8.4 and also have run other lolli builds off the same firmware. Maybe my phone hates me lol. Not sure if I can flash the Dev edition firmware since its not for sprint. If anyone got this running I'd love to know your methods so I can compare them to mine. I'd love to get this up and running. I appreciate the effort andy.

Requirements:

MD5 = 3c9ebae82d60976f73ad5f30d395decc
NOTE: Runs pretty good especially if you use SpareParts and set animations to fast.
NOTE 2: Fresh install with full wipe required.
IMPORTANT: Won't flash over anything unless I say otherwise. For a fresh install you must be using the correct CWM for your screen type (3.0.0.7 for Amoled or 3.0.0.8 for SLCD ) with ROM Manager or alternatively full wipe in recovery, then install/choose zip from SD Card
RULE OF THUMB: If you choose to flash over without a wipe and have lags, FC's, things missing, or things just don't work right then flash again with a complete wipe
Random Thoughts:
If you are using Google restore for a large amount of apps then expect some lag in the early minutes or hour or so after the install.
If you are experiencing a lot of lag after a fresh install check to see if it is Google restore. Most people don't even notice the option is on when signing into the market.
If you are using any means to restore and that restore is from another ROM suspect what was installed if you are having problems with this ROM
If you are using any means to restore and that restore is from a prior version of this ROM suspect what was installed if you are having problems.
Try different radios to see which one gives you the best network speed and overall functionality. For me it is the 11.19 radio for my area.

Use the framework-res.apk, com.htc.resources.apk, and SystemUI.apk from the ROM zip folder
==============================================
Helpful hints on battery life:
Look in Settings > Accounts & Sync and make sure you are not syncing anything you don't care about like news and stocks, etc. Leave them to update when opened. Same with E-Mail.
Go into the people/contacts and make sure you are only syncing contacts you need. For example I use Outlook and turned off Google and phone.
Turn off WiFi when you are not in range or need it. I boosted the search frequency time but it still helps to not have it searching at all
Adjust screen brightness to say 50% then put it on auto.
In Settings > Location turn off GPS and Phone Finder. That assumes you don't care about Phone Finder.
In Settings > Privacy turn off automatic backups if you don't use them
In Settings > Applications > Manage Applications uninstall ES File Explorer and HTC_IME mod (My black keyboard) if you don't use them. EFS runs in the background all the time.
Look in Settings > Applications and see if you have any apps that run all the time that you don't really use and uninstall them.
If I think of more I will add them.
Most of these use battery but also use RAM so you can save on both.

Any chance of this having the Sence 3.0 stock market app and widget...? Or is it the same/older Stock app...?
Other than the lock screen, the new Stock widget is pretty sweet.

Nils, its great to see you taking part in GingerSense rom building!
I have been a fan of your work in the past and will give this one a shot.
I was waiting for a 2.1/3.0 mix that is stable enough for a daily driver (since I use my Inc for business also) and this looks like the one I will try.

Known Problems, Limitations, and Changes:
Known Problems
As far as I can tell the only thing not working 100% is the
* Camera will not save on EMMC (Internal Storage) - Works for some but no guarantee it will work forever
Fix: Save to SD Card
* Sizing of images in Gallery cuts off about 1/3 of right image (No impact of functionality)
* Sizing of PC connect screen slightly too tall (No impact of functionality)
To be done:
Not sure

In Settings > Privacy turn off automatic backups if you don't use them
In Settings > Power turn of efficiency
In Settings > Applications > Manage Applications uninstall ES File Explorer and HTC_IME mod (My black keyboard) if you don't use them. EFS runs in the background all the time.
In Settings > Applications > Manage Applications uninstall Netflix if you don't use it.
Look in Settings > Applications and see if you have any apps that run all the time that you don't really use and uninstall them.
If I think of more I will add them.
Most of these use battery but also use RAM so you can save on both.

Possible fix for 3G drops
If you are experiencing either 3G drop or slow 3G speed it could be because a prior ported Sprint ROM may have corrupted something with your VZW setup. Happens when a ROM is not completely de-sprinted. Following this appears to help.
Do a Nandroid backup while 3G is working
Wipe everything
Flash this ROM Stock leaked Gingerbread ROM but rmk40
Don't worry about a full setup just accept and skip through eveyrthing
Do a *228 option 1 the option 2
Make a call to make sure it work OK
Wipe everything again in recovery. Does not hurt to format Cache, dalvik, System and data. DO NOT FORMAT SD CARD
Do a Nandroid restore from the backup made in first step
Wipe Cache and Dalvik
Reboot

Installation Instructions :
A clean install is recommended to avoid any FC etc.
Download CyberGR-MOD.NS.NGN_ver.14*.zip file to your computer.
Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery
From main menu select wipe data/factory reset and wipe/cache partition
Use Dalvik-wiper.zip to wipe Dalvik Cache. You can get it from here : Link 1 or here : Link 2
From advanced select reboot recovery
After rebooting recovery wipe data/factory reset & cache again and then from mounts and storage select format /system /data /cache /boot & format /sdcard.
Now select from mount and storage, mount USB storage and copy over to your Nexus S storage the CyberGR-MOD.NS.NGN_ver.14*.zip file.
Detach the USB CABLE from your Nexus S.
From main menu select install zip from sdcard then choose zip from storage
Select CyberGR-MOD.NS.NGN_ver.14*.zip and proceed with the setup.
When done!Reboot your device
First boot as expected might be slow but nothing to worry about, its normal. After first boot, before doing anything a reboot is recommended.(fixes misplaced CyberGR-MOD wallpaper in Ver.14 too)
[*]ENJOY!!
PS : 1. First time NSToolls will ask you for superuser permissions, be careful to press ALLOW, then it will come up with a notification saying "some settings have been discarded" blah blah, don`t worry it`s absolutely normal!!Just open NSTools, configure and reboot!!
2. Be careful don`t wipe battery stats, do it only if you want to calibrate your battery!!
3. Clean Install for Version 14 as always is recommended...Although if you are coming from Version 12 a simple Wipe Cache + Dalvik Cache and optionally wipe data/factory reset will just do the job!
4. First start up might take a little bit longer this time. It`s 100% Normal.
5. WARNING -- > If you want to try and change FONTS on your system using the Font Installer App included in CyberGR|MOD just be sure to make a NANDdroid back up 1st via CWM Recovery..95% of the fonts working just perfect but there is a 5% that maybe cause an infinity Boot Loop on your system! For Customaa & Corsiva fonts have been reported to cause the problem i mentioned above.

Tips & Tricks :
Tip 1 : Trebuchet Launcher sometimes may be a little bit laggy when you open application drawer.Just press menu button when you are in home screen, select preferences and finally under Drawer menu un-check Join widgets with apps!! (Not any more in Version 7 and up coming versions but always useful.)
Tip 2 : Optional - Go to Settings -> Developer options -> Background process limit and select At most 4 processes.
Tip 3 : Optional - Go to Settings -> Developer options -> And Check Force GPU rendering. Be careful with this one...you will have some noticeable performance boost on some apps, like benchmarking apps and other but maybe some other won`t work at all or half work..example detailed weather information in default news & weather widget.
Tip 4 : Random Questions regarding I/O Schedulers, Governors etc. Have a look at this --> Link
**Thanks to droidphile for this useful post!

Q : Launcher sometimes is a little bit laggy when i navigate through main screen and application drawer. Is there something i can do for this?
A : Please try TIP 1 and TIP 2 on 1st post!
Q : I am getting some random data drops, what can i do? *GSM model only*
A : Seems that users using older modems/radios (KK1 for example) are getting some random data drops with ICS ver. 4.0.3. Please be sure to update your modem if you have this issue.
Q : Random Questions on I/O Schedulers, Governors etc regarding the kernel?!
A : Have a look at this --> Link **Thanks to droidphile for this useful post!
Q : Computer doesn't recognize my phone`s SD card!
A : Turn off Fast Charge and disconnect/reconnect your phone.
Q : What's Fast Charge?
A : It turns off the usb connection to force a faster battery charge.
Love your work on your previous GingerBread ROM as it was stable AND fast as proposed.
Though not too sure how a heavily tested "alpha" can be stable. Even the default kernel: GlaDOS has been facing random reboots lately and 2.6 came out a day ago.
Guess I'll have to flash to find out to see if this really is what you say.

Is an alpha cause not all of CyanogenMOD settings are yet implemented..for the rest works like a stock ROM with some modifications on some things like media effects to make them work by me.
Regarding the kernel i was under testing with GLaDOS 2.5 CFS kernel for about a week+ and everything seems to run fine!!And yes GLaDOS 2.6 CFS came out just yesterday but the only change made was this :
- Fixed the problem of the CAM module being active all the time preventing DEEP IDLE from being used.
I am running 2.6 from yesterday with Deep_Idle disable from yesterday without any issue yet or performance change from 2.5!

Does this include percentage Battery mod?
Also, I don't think ES file explorer should be included, not all people use it. I use file expert and I think it's the best file manager (just try it).
Does this have stock boot animation?

Downloading requires more time cause of gprs
but from where can I download radio?
Does it have notification power widget and does flashlight work?

Battery percentage mod is not yet implemented.
Now for the File explorer app is a matter of personal choice!
I personally like ES File explorer + it offers Root access on system files too like Root Explorer...Didn`t know that File expert include root access too and it has a nice UI too!!Thank you for the tip and suggestion..;-)

1. When you get the notification, tap 'Download'
2. When't its done, select your wipes
3. Then tap Install and wait for the update to install. Your phone will reboot normally after the update is finished.
HOW TO INSTALL:
1. Download ROM and put it on your SD Card
2. Wipe data and cache in recovery of your choice

Thanks for all the hard work - this looks like a must flash for me.
Stupid question: do I need to be on 247 before I flash?
I'm on 232 happily running another ROM without any problems. I'm very tentative about flashing 247 and losing the ability to go backward to an OTA upgrade path. Or is this not a problem anymore.
But I've been following your work and this ROM sounds awesome.
Sorry if this is too noobish

Very fast rom. And stable so far!
So many good roms coming out as of late. I will TRY to wait for ota before flashing but im breaking down, i need my fix (lol)
Thanks for the release it looks like my style of rom

Been on 232 for eons, so this is a breath of fresh air. Downloading.
Edit: First boot the phone got stuck in airplane mode, however I feel like I did this somehow by accident. I was holding the phone away from me and realized it had finished booting and I was pressing stuff, then saw airplane mode was on, and there was no way to turn it off. So I did a wipe and reflash, with the moto preinstall folder wiper mod (why not?). All is well. Restoring apps via MyBackup Pro.
Flashed this warlock with ss3.0.5 and its been banging like a champ. Only issue so far is awesome beats doesn't want to work correctly. Other than that this rom is fantastic! Thanks for the hard work on this one

Smooth & Stable so far.. Really like this one, but can OP make a flash-able zip (or a version) with the more traditional ICS battery & signal icons? Is there a way to get rid of the persistent search bar?
Edit:
Tried installing on safeside via safestrap, no errors whatsoever, running great. However, on the non-safe via bootstrap on top of 232 it was installed, but after reboot there seems to be no changes made to the 232.

Great Rom
Flashed Rom and it works wonderful. But is it possible to add screenshot in the rom without third party app. Awesome beats doesn't do anything as stated before and battery percent is very much needed, other then that this is a awesome rom fast and smooth. Great work looking forward to future updates.
Added status bar icon mods, screenshots, and feature suggestions to the OP. Enjoy!

I for the life of me can not get this to install. I am on the OTA ICS update, rooted and when I go to install the zip file everything seems to be fine and it says that the rom installed but it reboots back in to a fresh OTA install.

When i flash the rom nothing changes. It Goes to 73% then just reboots.
I have tried flashing numerous times, using flashfire and TWRP and still the same.
I must of got lucky on my first install, no matter what I tried (e.g. full wipe incl. Internal, caches, clean install.) My I changed my screen size to full on display settings before flashing, had latest BusyBox installed pre-flash also. It booted for Me though, Wich I subsequently (after a little prep in settings) I flashfired the included root package for good measure....I selected clean install from the Aroma Installer, maybe if we dirty flashed ???

Have You booted at all? Try after the first boot to dirty flash the rom through flashfire instead of clean install. I reverted back to The previous Project S7, the only rom that seems to stick even with my non-downgradable v8 Bootloader . G930TUVS8CRJ1

I already tried to dirty flash from Project L S7 Oreo v3 which is what i'm currently using.
I even went back to complete stock rerooted and tried through TWRP and still nothing.
The phone boots just fine when i flash however there aren't any changes. I even tried factory reset after flashing and no difference Its as if the rom is not installing at all.

Is it possible to get the Rom w/o Aroma? Just an installable zip? I would definitely give it a whirl!
It's nice to see there are still some that will continue working on the s7.
XDA needs more devs/rom builders/enthusiasts whatever you prefer to be called.
Thanks for stepping up to the plate.
The rom looks great!

This is weird as this is the same Aroma installer as project L v3 oreo rom and install fine here
Make sure you are mounting system in flashfire and in twrp
