Just got a random reboot. - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was in settings/storage, and tapped on apps. The phone lagged then opened the apps section. I tapped the back button and then the phone shut off and restarted. I am rooted, twrp recovery, but using the stock rom.
Has anyone else experienced this at all? Wondering if it is a widespread thing, or not.

Cool story bro

I've been getting way too many random reboots. Something as simple as turning off wifi or turning it back on will cause it. I'm not sure why it does it and I'm fully stock, unrooted. I've seen suggestions about clearing the cache and I've done that, but the problem continues. I'd say it does it on average once every couple of days.
Now that's a cool story, bro.

That stinks huh?! Unfortunately though if you wanted someone to truly help figure that out you'd want to have a Log of some sort

Have you tried just saving all your stuff and wiping the phone clean and starting fresh?

I've thought about wiping and starting over, but I'd rather find out that it's a known issue with a fix before I go through all of that work. It's not like I've been flashing ROMS and messing around with the radios or anything like that.

careful with flashing

i just wanted to make this thread to warn people. my phone just broke. wont turn on. and i have tried everything!!! the same thing happened to mssmison's old phone. and we think its just from flashing so many times that we just wore out the rom. i have probably (no lie) flashed my phone 60 times if not more. so i just wanna let everone know to go easy on the flashing as you may eventually break your phone!!!
i honestly dont think android messed it up i just wore the phone out.
android is not the cause of my phone crashing. so you can flash android to your phone, just dont go all buckwild on it and flash it like a fat guy at dunken donuts

Sorry to hear that So it won't turn on at all, nothing? reboot button does nothing? Stinks man =/
I've noticed my phone sputter a few times when I was flashing, or rebooting, like I'll have to press reboot a few times before it responds. I always wonder how long this thing can possibly endure.

Or if you just take it in and let them know that it died.

Process System is Not Responding

Anyone know what causes this error on boot up?
Had it on 5.0.8 stable and the theme I'm running now.
Also had it on Super E.
Just curious... a search gave me nothing clear.
Surely I am not alone here?

Does it give the the force close and wait option? If so - I'm pretty sure everyone gets it. I've gotten it, and Dr Cloverdale said it was normal on one of his 2.1 ROMs.
so do u mean whenevr u boot up u get a force close right? that happens to me. i just force close it.

I get it every boot and just hit wait. Problem solved.
Yeah.. every boot and I usually press Wait.
I did NOT realize this was the case for everyone. Weird issue, especially considering I have not heard much about it. Very small issue, but a little annoying.

I didn't either but I assume it's a small quirk that comes with putting something like 2.1 on such an old device.

possible fix for "Process System is not Responding"
I may have figured out a way to get around this.... I had to flash an ealier version of CWM in ROM manager... once I did that I was able to restore my nandroids again hope this helps everyone

You should be posting this in the ROM thread, not here. I had the issue consistently since the first port, no idea why. Some people report not having the issue, but I think enough people have the problem for it to be condsidered a "known bug"...
I was running Tazz4/4.1 for over a week with acceptable issues. I used Google Voice for messaging so I did not really miss anything. I decided to switch back to AOSP 5/23 today because I needed Bluetooth working. It ran great especially with the .35 kernel though.
I will switch back as soon as Bluetooth is functional (hopefully soon).
Tazz 4.1 6/11/2011 No keyboard
I also like this rom, but am having a problem after installation. I was wondering if I may be doing something wrong or if others have had the problem of no keyboard after installation of Tazz 4.1 6/11/2011. I have followed the instructions for install, wiped everything (even reformatted) several times with the same result.
Yeah some have had the issue, I think it just takes a minute in settings to fix it. I installed it, no kb... Went into settings/keyboard/ and selected the htc_ime (I may have deselected it first) and then in a text field, long-press and select htc_ime and it should work fine.

Thanks for the quick response. When I go to settings/Language & Keyboard there is nothing to select it is blank. When I long press on a text field nothing happens. I will once again try reformatting, wiping everything and re-installing

[Q] Xperia Z Occasionally Unresponsive Screen

Hi
My Sony Xperia Z has had an issue with its screen for a long while now, purchased it about a year ago.
From time to time the screen will not respond to any touch anymore. Power- and Volumebuttons still work.
When it happens i can lockscreen it and it works again,
but sometimes i need to push the power button multiple times til the lockscreen reacts to touch again.
Also sometimes while typing the screen will recognize wrong letters and
those i intended to type become untypable and it will always take the one next to it.
The phone has no water damage, hasnt been dropped etc, im taking very good care of it.
I use a leatherflipcase for it, but the issue occured with or without cover.
Been reading through the internet for a long while now and havnt found any spot on issue as this yet.
I hope someone in this forum might be able to help me.
Thanks in advance!

If you don't want custom ROM like CM or PA

Well as everyone see in any ROM thread. The dev saying DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!
but it's not a big deal for me
If you do what the introductions saying. You you won't get problems
But if something go wrong so you will get bootloop and can be fixed by flashing stock FTF file and you will loose your data sure so backup first
And DO NOT and I mean DO NOT FLASH ANY ANY ANY OTHER DEVICE'S ROM OR KERNEL!!!!!!! you if you do that so you will loose you device FOREVER!! then it's should do to trash

That sounds quite chinese to me, and im absolutely not fluent at chinese haha
I was hoping there might be a fix or option to help this without having to go so deep into it?
Personally wouldnt wanna risk much, as the phone itself is fine just that it has this issue sometimes =/
Are there other perks that might make flashing more attractive?

Your problem is not exist here I think so the only thing you should try is flashing ROMS it's may not help and if not helped that means you have a hardware or screen issue and need to send it to repair

Process system is not responding. Do you want to close it? <WAIT> <OK>

Ever since I've had this phone I've been experiencing the error in the title above. I've rooted, tried freezing apps I think might be the problem, and just tonight I unlocked the bootloader, which wipes everything, and was hoping the error would go away. It only happens the first time upon boot. I hit either Wait or OK and it goes away until next boot.
Not a big deal, but curious what's causing it. Just wondering if anyone has this issue.
This is the 16gb Prime version, rooted, debloated, unlocked bootloader.
Cheers!

I thought about that too, but I've tried two different carriers.. T-Mo, and Cricket. Both do it, regardless if one is in one slot or both are in either.
Like I said, it only does it after the first reboot, then I never see it again.

My LG G4 does this sometimes. Just click wait to avoid dropping a system process. It probably represents a random error during boot, but it never seemed to hurt anything enough to justify a full investigation.

My HTC 10 just gave me this system stopped responding error right after rebooting - Now I'm beginning to think it's just a new "feature" in Marshmallow. When I have some extra time, I'd like to see if I can figure out what does this - more for the sake of learning than anything else.
