[Q] Zenfone error while updating - Asus Zenfone 4

I have a Asus Zenfone A450cg, Recently I've been trying to update my firmware to v4.4.0 by OTA, but it always fails while doing so, So i tried to downgrade to Version 4.2.3 by flashing system.img.gz but again it fails to update to v4.3.4, i have also tried by manually downloading the firmware from the asus support and Putting it in Internal to Update but still Unsuccessful, So how do I update to the latest update now ??, If anyone has a system.img for the newest version would you please share it here ?? Please help.

U can try flashing the latest firmware using adb tool that might work for you.

Try flashing by adb or download raw file flash it via default recovery by selecting sd download( copy raw to microsd first )
Then try update by zip

Updater.apk not working

So I've tried to root my xiaomi mi 3 running the latest official miui 6, using the update package v23 provided on this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-3/general/root-recovery-rom-qa-xiaomi-mi3-wcdma-t2830538
After doing so, the phone did not get root access and furthermore whenever I open updater I get a message "Unfortunately, Updater has stopped". I then tried factory reset in hope that the updater app would return to the previous state. Nothing happened unfortunately and the situation remains the same. I have then decided to download the official build from the website. I renamed it as 'update.zip' placed it on the root of the device and went into the provided xiaomi recovery, clicked update but I got an error. Is there any way to return to the previous state? To make updater work again?

Why did you used a file of MIUI5 V23 for MIUI6?
What error are you getting in recovery?
You can try to flash fastboot ROM that will reinstall the ROM and repair config files. Use the one according to your device.

I flashed it because I asked in an another thread if it will work, and someone said it will... In the recovery I get a message like this
'Install Update.zip Failed
Error applying update'
Do you think I should use this tutorial for fastboot flashing? http://en.miui.com/thread-11047-1-1.html
Do I lose my warranty by peforming flashing through fastboot? How should I root the device afterwards? Should I flash the developers version?

You will not loose warranty for applying MIUI ROM in fastboot. However before that you should check if you have downloaded correct full ROM zip file and the zip is not corrupted. You can try extracting it and if throws any error than it is corrupted. If the zip is ok and updating through recovery does not work than fastboot seems to be only option.
There are fastboot ROMs available for stable build of MIUI6 as well.
For Root you can try this.

If that does not work, provide me with the build.prop file from the ROM zip you have downloaded I will try to make a root file for you.

[Q] Need Flash File - Recent Verizon Update

Hello,
My HTC One Remix is rooted on stock with TWRP for recovery. Verizon just released an update that I would like to install, but of course when it trys to install automatically it loads TWRP recovery and fails. Does someone have the update in a zip package that can be applied via TWRP?
- Cheers
I'm having the same issue. I'm Rooted on stock with TWRP installed. I found the OTA update zip on my phone but I'm not brave enough to attempt to flash it in TWRP. If you want to give it a try its located in the /cache/fumo folder.
I will give it a shot tonight and let you know how it goes.

Negative... "Error executing updater binary in zip"
So next question would be, does anyone know where I can DL the stock recovery img ?
The htc website says the htc sync manager can update verizon versions of the phone. My only concern is will it un-root the phone and will we be able to re-root after the update?

[Solve]Recovery Problem while installing 5.1.1

It happens because you need a lolipop stock recovery to install the new styled OTA.
The solve is just use this recovery. Flash it via flashify(APP) or sp flash tool from your pc ! THen try to install the 5.1.1 OTA from the link below. Recovery link also given below
OTA :-
https://android.googleapis.com/pack...ed-sprout-mmx-LMY47V-from-LMY47O.906842e8.zip
Recovery :-
https://docs.google.com/uc?authuser=0&id=0BySRffw4ufYxaGh1LXhPTHlpdEk&export=download
unable to flash 5.1.1 ota
Neither downloading the ota nor flashing is working here.
Earlier after rooting I had removed the preinstalled apps and the korean keyboard app.
and since that time I have been getting the OTA update for 5.1.1, but unfortunately there is error message displayed always as follows:
"/system/app/koreanIME/Korean.apk
hs unexpected contents.
Error in cache/update .zip
status 7
Installation failed "
Did downloading from playstore and moving back the app to the system app folder, but still the error perists and doesn't go ahead.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated

You can't install official updates without having the stock recovery, if you try to, it will reboot to twrp and give you an error.
If you need the stock recovery, here you go: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwQbt3YQTCDCYVRFMUFkdUxYSHc/view?usp=drivesdk
You can flash it via flashify, it's in .img format.
Thank you much appreciated!

If you refer to recovery, then yes, you'll flash it via fastboot

I dont understand one thing, the stock recovery is the same for b565 and b551? It's ok if i flash the above recovery.img to my b565 version?

I also had twrp and root I just let the update download and stopped the automatic install. Rebooted into twrp and flashed the update zip (with verification off or it failed). After this I had original recovery and (king)root was gone. Which where easy enough to redo (using supersu now). Everything seems to be working as it should. I made a backup before I tried this. I just wanted to give it a shot and it worked.

if you have update.app for your current firmware version use "Huawei Update Extractor" and extract recovery.img from it and flash it in fastboot mode.

update and twrp
Hi
perhaps I can help you.
My situation:
P8 lite: rooted,unlocked bootloader,latest twrp
Download and install Huawei HI-suite on your computer
Connect your phone to the computer
Let the HI-suite download the update and install.
TWRP will finish it.
In my case phone successfully updated. B551 to B565
Just did it: twrp 3.0.2 installed official OTA B585 Full Ale-L21
Download update using updater, then connected to pc i wanted to flash stock recovery, but when usb attached phone rebooted in recovery and started install update.
In log at the end i saw a command unknown (maybe the one that deletes update.zip, i found the file still in my phone after update)
Phone info says:
emui 4.0
ALE-L21C432B585
kernel ver. 3.10.86-g53f7dd5 17 Nov 2016
security patch: 1 Nov 2016
I had to re-install twrp and root (testing systemless)
