Here's an app that shows the battery percentage at the status bar (no root required) - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Themes and Apps

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.edavid93.kitkat_battery_percentage
I installed on my girlfriend's moto G a few months back. It works on Moto Maxx/Droid Turbo aswell.
Install, enable, reboot.
On KitKat the text is always white, meaning you can't see it when the battery is charged. On Lollipop it changes color accordingly.

How do you take this green battery icon off as I got the percentage bar on with the new version of Android and there's no need to display both.

You need to install xposed framework, download the sense 5 toolkit, and find the module that alters (and disables) the battery icon in the statusbar. You'll need to be rooted for it to work. Other than that, you can get into settings and disable the percentage and use the icon as well.
Find out which app that icon is coming from. Once you find it disable the notification from the "App" tab in your phone's setting
Thought it might be easy just to unclick something

It just showed up with the official rooted ROM, hadn't been there in the EclipticOne KitKat ROM I'd been running.

It tells you NFC is on. Its been there since I can remember. Maybe you just didn't have it on. Annoying little thing, isn't it?
Yeah, I've always had NFC on, I guess it was just always hidden... Thanks for the info!
This can be removed fairly easily if you're rooted. Tried it this morning and the icon is gone.

Looks like you have an xposed module with a force setting of Signal style set to text.
But.. I can choose in settings normal icon of signal or text style. Not both of them in the same time.

What xposed module is active?
I don't have xposed so i don't have any custom framework. Only this stock one from cyanogenmod version of Android 4.4.

Status bar moved down bug android 5.1 lockscreen

For some reason my status bar is moved down half the time I turn my phone on, it bugs the crap out of me. I have had it happen on multiple phones with android 5.1. I do have xframework with gravitybox installed. After I unlock it, it goes back to normal. Any help would be great. It's the whole status bar and if I have full screen album art it will show my background where the status bar would be.
