After lollipop update, is possible to downgrade to official kitkat?
Taptalked

Very good gestion

Please people read DeHawk's section about upgrading and downgrading bootloaders. It is not so simply...

if kk and lollipop roms have the same bootloader, the downgrade is simple with stock rom with odin.
i need to know if anyone tryed it before i flash lollipop

I have installed the Czech Republic version with odin and everything seems to work fine.

i also had wifi error at first, flashed the rom 3 more times with odin and than wifi worked. :good:

the trick apparently is..
Just make sure you follow the sammobile instructions carefully, others have just loaded odin and flashed the rom and the modem etc. was left 'untouched'. So make sure you do the proper sequence e.g. download mode (its in the sammobile instructions).

Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes
These are the steps which i make

Reboot / Boot into download-mode?

Not too sure about that part! It is actualy recommended that one should turn-off phone and then boot into download-mode rather than "reboot" into download-mode. The experts might give their two-cents on the mutter.

Nice i will wait for the update if there is

There's no wifi bug. You just have to turn off the device (no restart!!!) before going to download mode. Otherwise modem will stay untouched - from previous firmware causing wifi problems.

What kind of files use to downgrade mobile firmware version ?

Hello, I have Samsung i9000 and at the moment I have 2.3.6 version firmware,
Baseband version - I9000XDJV1
Kernel version - 2.6.35.7-I9000XWJW5-CL1045879
Build number - GINNGERBREAD.XWJW5
I would like downgrade to 2.3.5, so could you tell me please where can I find files to downgrade 2.3.5 ? You know it's lots of 2.3.5 version but I am worried which one would be suitable for my phone.
Thanks indeed,
Ed
You have to use Odin and this file http://www.mediafire.com/?edl0ud20oxae25x this url drive you to a stock 2.3.5 rom who is probably compatible with your country.
I think you need to download the *JVS firmware, that corresponds at 2.3.5 firmware.
(add www) multiupload.nl/UQR3XQKJ22 <== Here there is an italian version of firmware, but i think that still work for latvia.
Istructions: (for odin)
0: Click on repartition
1: insert pit512 on pit
2: insert on pda CODE_I9000XXJVS_CL565837_REV03_user_low_ship
3: insert on phone MODEM_I9000XXJVS_REV_00_CL1059471
4: insert on csc GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVS
5: Reboot your galaxy S in download mode – Press at the same time:: Down Volume, Home + and power.
6: Open Odin and wait 30 sec, a yellow botton appear (COM:XX)
8: Click on start and wait the finish of the operation.
9: Enjoy your firmware!
You can read a guide for this forum.hdblog.it/f140/%5Bfirmware%5D-samsung-galaxy-s-i9000-xxjvs-2-3-5-disponibile-45547/
this guide should work, but wait, i search the right firmware for latvia.

There is only 2.3.5 for Europe, so just use the first one, as you seem to be on currently also using the European baseband

is this what you mean... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198341
A) JELLYBEANIZATION:
Download Odin3 from here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...1&d=1341114315. Extract it into a folder.
Download Stock JB firmware from here. http://hotfile.com/dl/222710569/1f2e...86223.zip.html . Extract it into a separate folder, you will get a .tar.md5 file.
Make sure you have Kies installed, but not running.
Turn your phone off, and boot into Download mode, this can be done by holding the Vol.Down+Home+Power buttons together at the same time, till it boots.
Press Volume up to continue. Plug in your phone (make sure it's at least 60% charged) . Wait till Odin recognizes (It should say something like COMORT... to the left).
Click on PDA and choose the firmware (.tar.md5) that you extracted in step 2. Click start.
Right now, a virus which will fry your phone's internals is being installed... Calm down, joke.
When your phone boots into JB, and Odin says "PASS". Unplug.

have you gone into recovery and wipe data/reset as per instructions on the first post?
if so you will probably need to also include the pit file if you have done wrong flashing in the past for your phone - you can search for the pit file for your phone and include that in the flashing process
Bootloader
no bootloader file required while flashing via odin ?

No - I never include it as it's not needed & if you flash the wrong one you would potentially brick your phone & would require a jtag
All you need for general flashing a new stock rom is pda modem & phone & follow my instructions

This is the kind of post that really annoys me for 2 reasons
1 - you clearly still haven't read the instructions on the first post as it clearly tells you how to get into download mode and gives step by step instructions on how to do everything
2 - even if by some chance after reading the first post which gives you the answer anyway you could of just typed in Google "How to put galaxy y in download mode"
Sorry to make an example of you but people really do need to follow my instructions and actually read the first post fully!

I followed your directions step by step and even received a green "pass" sign in Odin but baseband still shows the old version. Can you think of anything that could possibly went wrong? I appreciate any help.

Thanks !! Now it's OK for me !! In fact I flashed using odin but without power off to go in download mode ! the download mode from the rom does not work.
I modified a little your tuto. With odin 3.09 I put the bootloader file in BL section and modem in CP section(not AP)
Big thanks for your help !

You are welcome...
EDIT: Anyway, also if you put the modem on AP (or PDA on v3.07), the modem flash correctly (tested by doing it as a mistake!!)... For your information, when a new rom is released, I always unpack the firmware to clean the package from recovery image (this to avoid to reflash TWRP), so I can prepare easyly and fastly the modem and bootloader tar.md5 files... if you need, ask me and I'll provide them... I prepare always tar.md5 that has self-checksum control when opened on Odin

What version do you use of Odin?
I suggest to use the v3.07, not the last one v3.09... In my dev teams, we tested and seems that older one is more stable than the last... here the link for v3.07 (in case someone need): https://mega.co.nz/#!pVwUEaqK!QWtWKBNrBklhmVDY1hOjJGC8nr6GEjy4qEVvhTbDrRs
I think this should be sticky post

Thank you for your reply. I tried 3.04, 3.07 and 3.09 all with the same result. It flashed, said "passed" but Baseband didn't change. I found out that I lost root somehow (maybe through the last update of the ROM?). I re-rooted and then I could flash the modem with V3.04. Thank you so much!

I'm glad I helped. If you updated the ROM, you lost for sure the root... anyway from now I think you can flash with Odin the new future Modem without issues... you know how to do it!!

Weird, after I did the whole reroot thing, I installed the latest CM12 nighty, had random reboots like many others I found out later. Root still worked. So I did a factory reset, flashed an old version (from 22nd) and lost root again. Never mind, thank you again!

Use Odin to go back to previous firmware or just go back to lollipop. Download the right firmware for your device, download Odin 3.10.7 or the latest.....put your phone in download mode then open Odin go to AP in Odin select the firmware u download... select the the file and click start. ( Before all this make sure u wiped your phone first after backing up all your important data's) for more step by step....go follow @OvrDriVE for straight up instructions

i'm so confused.
Anyways I have heard of some people being able to go back down, downgrading from EPG2 so -- quit the double posting, and just try some stuff out.
DOK2 Bootloader: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982087008410
DOK2 Modem: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982087008409
Use Odin 3.0.9 (What this member specifically used and I use it personally)
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23321874045862094
Boot your device into download mode
Flash these two files
Tell us if it succeeds or if it gives you an error, and if so what was the error?
Also you may want to flash a 5.1.1 ROM with that 5.1.1 Bootloader and modem.
If this doesn't work report back to us and maybe some more exotic stuff can work.
