Your Tab S and it's accessories list (What do you own and have) - Galaxy Tab S General

I want to know how many Tab S users out there that have their accessories and how many do you carry or use for your tablet. It's interesting to me because I value my device very much and I use it as my phone and for everything, my tv, my music etc. Also it's unfortunate for me, in my country, the Tab S accessories are poorly sold and very scarce as I feel like I'm in a dead end here with not having the accessories that I want. So I'd like to see how many Tab S owners that have accessories or if they feel the need to have many as I want many for myself. Please post accordingly to this format that I'll use an example for myself:
Tab S model and size: SM-T805, 10.5 inch (International version)
WiFi or LTE? LTE
Carrier or Unlocked? Unlocked, no carrier
Color: Titanium Bronze
Storage Capacity: 16gb
Accessories (asides from original accessories from the box): Apple Wireless keyboard, Sandisk dual USB OTG drive (64gb).
Case: Otterbox Defender Case(Black) , Alibaba Flip case cover(Black)
Micro SD card: 32gb Kingston Class 4 (currently waiting for a 128gb Sandisk or Samsung when avaiable)
Wishlist: Samsung Book cover (Charcoal Black), Original Samsung Bluetooth keyboard for the Tab S 10.5 (Titanium Bronze), Original Samsung Bluetooth wireless S- mouse (Black).
I know it may seem to personal for others for posting everything about your device or even your wishlist, if you don't mind please feel free to share. The reason why I posted this is to seek how available and how popular this device and it's aftermarket is globally. The wishlist is optional but hopefully someone from Samsung reads this post lol so that it could be made available more if others also agree and wish for affordable original Samsung accessories in their areas. I can't get any of those from my wishlist in my area except for the book cover and also the tablet storage is only 16gb which sucks, no 32gb in my country as well, lastly also no dazzling white color option for the 10.5 variant as well. This may seem silly but it's interesting for me so please go on and post!

I was told the Samsung Tab S does not support sdxc. I have tried a SanDisk 64GB SDXC card in the S and it does not work.
Does your 64G Samsung Evo Class 10 work well? That is an sdxc card, correct?

I have used both a 64gb and 128gb with no problem. I don't know who told you sdxc didn't work but they are wrong.

Ok. I have the 8". Wonder if there is a difference between the 8" and 10". I might have to try the Samsung 64 and see what I get. Thanks!

I have yet to find a device that supports sdhc that doesn't also support sdxc.

I received my 64G Samsung Evo Class 10 card a few days ago. It works in the Tab S 8"! SanDisk 64Gb SDXC still does not work even though I confirmed it does work in other devices and my PC. Go figure.

Have you checked what its formatted with? Fat32, ExFAT, NTFS?

I'll have to double check and report back. I believe the SanDisk is formatted FAT32.

I think they would, given how small this is. I don't imagine it would cost a lot to ship. Mine was send from Hong Kong in a normal envelop. So, worthwhile checking this out, especially the second one which is only around 35 Pounds?

yes it is. Tempted to get one for my Nokia, but it's handy to swap between devices. Play.com deliver free here so the price you see is the price you pay.
Amazon also have 4gb SDHC cards for less than 9GBP!!!!
i'm checking sandisk site but i think the item doesn't include a microsd->minisd converter.
shipping is not an issue for now because i have a friend who's coming from the states.

micro to mini converters are easy to get hold of - you can buy them off ebay for very little. Doesn't have to be a sandisk one, kingston make micro sd memory cards with sd and mini sd adaptors in one box. If you want you could just buy a 1gb microsd off them and use the adaptor with your 8gb, providing you have some other use for the 1gb card! Alternatively, like I said, check ebay.
thanks for the replies guys. i really appreciate it.

I've tried this and it won't work unless you get the sdhc mini adapter from Kingston. This is the only one I could find that supports micro sdhc cards. The adapter comes with a 4 gig micro sdhc card. I have a 6 gig sandisk and this works in the Kingston mini adapter just fine. I also have a regular mini sd adapter and neither of my sdhc cards will work in it. I got my Kingston 4 gig and adapter from Amazon.
Good Luck!

There's no difference between adaptors given with sdhc and sd, it's literally just a pin adaptor with no 'technology' as such. it's strange that you have issues!

I would agree but this micro sdhc card does not work when inserted in this mini adapter
and placed in my Advantage.
I use the same Sandisk card in this Kingston mini adapter and it works perfectly. If I use the regular PNY micro sd card inserted in the mini adapter it comes with, then it works just fine.
Look at the Features/Benefits of the Kingston card w/adapter:
* Compliant — with the SD Specification Version 2.00
* Versatile — when combined with the adapter, can be used as a full-size SDHC card
* Compatible — with microSDHC, miniSDHC, and SDHC host devices; not compatible with standard microSD/miniSD/SD - enabled device/readers
* File Format — FAT 32
* Reliable — lifetime warranty*
Specifications:
* Capacity** — 4GB
* Dimensions — 0.43” x 0.59” x 0.039” ( 11mm x 15mm x 1mm)
* High-Speed Class Rating — Class 4: 4MB/sec. minimum data transfer rate
* Operating temperatures — -13°F to 185°F (-25°C to 85°C)
* Storage temperatures — -40°F to 185°F (-40°C to 85°C)
* Weight — .1 oz (2.7g)
Kingston microSDHC Part Number:
SDC4/4GB-2ADP
If the new micro sdhc card are not backwards compatible with old devices that use standard sd cards then why would you think that a standard mini sd adapter would support the new sdhc. It's obvious that the adapters are not just some passive shells that just convert the pin outs.

They are in fact passive shells. There is a difference between a card 'reader' and a card 'adaptor. A card reader uses hardware to recognise the card and send its information through a USB port. A card adaptor simply alligns the digital and electrical pins so that there is physical contact.
SDHC cards differ to SD cards in terms of their memory addressing protocol but are identical with regard to their physical interface. This accounts for the universal backwards compatibility of SDHC card 'readers' with older SD cards, and why many devices can be made compatible with SDHC cards by means of a firmware update

Ciao!
the microsd you're looking at buying is vastly overpriced. You can get them here for a lot less through most suppliers. Maybe we're just lucky here in the uk to be able to get them for 29gbp! With regard to the adaptor, you can't really quarantee anything with windows mobile devices, but they should work provided it's capable of reading up to 8gb sdhcs.
Please be informed that 12 GB microSDHC is already out. See this thread.

When ??

They have got pressure from Apple so we can't get 32Gb until they release a 64Gb iPhone.
[/joke]
Seriously, they were announced in February last year !
They are arriving now in Hong Kong at Times Square. At least that is what one guy said, 'just released'. However, at this time still buy 16GB because it is SOOOO much cheaper. even class6 cards.
i bought a 16GB card. the 32GB are too expensive...or better overpriced!
the question is valid since HTC doenst say you can use them. the largest i heard htc said can be used is 8GB.... but thats baloney

dying to have the 32Gb micro sd card
I don't think we'll see a 32GB MicroSDHC card any time soon. It looks like the major manufacturers are going to concentrate on the new format SDXC (which can support up for 2TB) .
SDXC is the same design and shape as SD/SDHC but it needs specific support from devices, the Leo/HD2 doesn't, at least officially, support SDXC
However I have been looking and there is a way to convert a larger SD card into a MicroSD card ...yes you read that correctly. You can get a 32GB SD card now (and cheaper than a 32GB microSD if it shows up), then can get a converter from a few places such as APTOlink . I'm not sure this will fit under the Leo's battery cover, but if it will it's the best solution.

Thanks jagnet. I'm currently using a class 6 16GB Micro SD but I just ordered that DX adapter you linked to because I'm curious to see whether it has a low enough profile to fit into the HD2. It's very annoying waiting for 32GB MicroSD and it would be cool if we could get 32GB capacity now, but cheaper because its on the SD format, and still fit in the phone.

Anything may happen of course, but there's no reason why 32GB SDHC cards shouldn't work. 32GB is the maximum capacity for the SDHC format, and it doesn't require any new drivers, readers or whatever.

That's a pretty good deal for 2 x 8GB cards. I would be more inclined to buy an "off-brand" card and get 16GB in one card though. Newegg has a 16GB card for $21.49 shipped. The same 16GB card is $30 at Tiger Direct, so it's a decent deal.
The challenge, for me, with having 2 cards is I know I'll lose one of them. I'd rather just plug it into my device and leave it. ("Set it and forget it"... the old infomercial phrase)
The 32GB micro sd cards are also tempting... On one hand $2-3/GB ($70-100)is somewhat steep for flash memory. But on the other hand, the "upgrade cost" is a lot cheaper than buying a Xoom or iPad with that much memory.

That's actually a really good point. The cheap 16GB card I posted is only a class 2 (aka. rated for SD video recording). I'm wondering what impact this has on playback of files though... for example HD videos. Since the class designation is a measurement of minimum write speeds.

Recently read that someone had one of these on their Adam and it failed after 3 months. I think they mentioned it never actually performed as a Class 10, more like a Class 6 and replaced it or got a Lexar one now.

Let's play nice in here, guys! I personally enjoy seeing Clockcycle's deals here, and it's not classified as spam because he is not self-promoting external websites with malicious intent. I believe that he's just genuinely trying to help us find the best deals for our devices! We should commend him for that.
That said, there was a substantial amount of clutter caused by having so many similar posts. As such, I have combined all of the deals threads into one repository of Clockcycle's frugal findings and stickied it.

Micro SD card UHS1 vs class 10

I currently have a Samsung branded 64gb micro sd uhs1 card in my note 4. I was thinking of upgrading my card so I got on eBay looking up prices for 128 gb cards since the note takes amazing video and those files are HUGE.
Well to my surprise 128 gb class 10 cards are super cheap, like under $20 cheap, while uhs1 class cards are closer to $100.
Is there a significant performance hit using a class 10 vs uhs1?
I downloaded "A1 SD Bench" from the play store, here's the results I got on my uhs1 64gb Samsung card.

If anyone is running a class 10 card, I'd love to see what your bench is using the same app. (Or suggest a different app)
Yes- I ordered a name brand 128 gb micro sd class 10 for $14 [emoji106] [emoji6]
I can't imagine it could possibly perform that bad? But I don't know, that's why I'm asking the question.
Thanks!

You should be getting much faster speeds from the sammy card.
If a 128GB SD card goes for $10 on ebay, then I would be very surprised if that card was legit. The web is rife with stories of knock off cards that are hacked up to look report as a larger capacity than they really are. As the old saying goes, "if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. "

UHS1 and Class 10 have the same minimum sequential write speed, but Class 10 is compatible with the High Speed Bus while UHS uses the UHS Bus.
https://www.sdcard.org/developers/overview/bus_speed/
Basically, Class 10 cards have a theoretical maximum speed of 25MBps in either direction since that is the maximum bus speed. UHS cards can hit 50, 104, 156 or 312 depending on the bus version used. So if you switch to a Class 10 card you will see your read speed drop significantly (42 per your test results down to 25 at maximum).
My Samsung 64GB EVO card did 36.85MB/s read and 12.11MB/s write.

Will the phone take advantage of the UHS Speed Class 3 devices that claim up to 40MB/s write?
Is the note 4 UHS1 capable?

quote... "Galaxy Note 4 can achieve super fast speed for the SD cards on the mobile device – 61.40MB/s read, and 47.84MB/s write speed"

Wow, UHS3. Ok, that kind of explains the class 10 prices.
Now I'm upset my uhs1 card only got 8mb write [emoji35]
I had a Lexar 64gb class 10 and I was having problems with delay when waking up the screen. I took out the card and the phone was waking up instantly. I then exchanged it with 64gb Samsung Evo and the wake up lag was gone.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but how can a 128gb class 10 micro sd card not be worth $14! ?

Ok, so I bought a SanDisk Extreme Plus 64GB UHS-I/ U3 Micro SDXC and gave it a try.
73.98MB/s read, 41.96MB/s write
Note: Not as good as the "up to" 80 read, 50 write Amazon advertises.

Careful, if it ships from ebay or China at that price, it's fake. Even Amazon 3rd parties sell fakes.

sounds like a fake, to know for sure, once you receive it, fill the card up with movies or whatever... the fake card will crash and you wont be able to use it anymore, it will never reach the 64gb capacity. that is what I do with every card I buy.
$14 please...

It shipped from U.S.A. (can't remember which state) ave I didn't get the "generic" for $12, I sprung for the A DATA branded for $14 [emoji6]
I've used the a data usb thumb drives, and never had issue. I'll check the card when it arrives.
Honestly, I'm fully expecting it to be real, 128 gb capacity, but I'm sure it won't be anything close to my Samsung UHS-1 64gb cards performance.
After the link above, and seeing the note 4 is capable of UHS-3, I'd love to find a good price on one of those, but it would have to be 128gb since I already have a 64gb.
Now the real question is while we all crave the ultimate performance, is that speed difference anything you'll feel in day to day use?

Do a couple of creative Google searches... Read the speed test results from credible testers. The new Samsung cards, rated at UHS1 are faster than most all claimed UHS3 cards.
Yeah, I'm sure that's true. I'm just wondering if the real world, day to day use benefits from the speed? Or is it just a benchmark thing?
Received the 128gb card today. Benchmark was pretty low.
I bought a Samsung 32GB EVO MicroSD from the official Samsung sellers page on Amazon.com

[Q] which micro SD should I get?

I have a moto g 2nd gen and I want to buy it a 64gb micro SD (formatting it to fat32 for it to work). I have 4 options, a Toshiba, a Kingston, an adata, and a samsung evo. Do you have one of these? Which one do you recommend?
Important is that it is a class 10 card,just because of the faster read/writespeed. I tested several class 10 cards (Samsung,Kingston,Hama,SanDisk) with Crystal DiscMark and the differerences were mostly marginal. I bought myself a Samsung because I could get it as a special offer. In official testings this card is mentioned to be one of the best.
The Samsung SDXC PRO 64GB is a little expensive but fast and therefore a good deal,also the SanDisk SDXC Card Extreme Plus 64GB. But in my opinion a Samsung Evo 64GB is doing a great job too and is a good choice.

Be very careful of the cheap eBay fakes SD cards..... buy Local and help your Local retailer(s) - o.k it may be 2x as expensive, but shop around and you can find deals
