Your welcome. It's fairly basic but it's the way I like to run my phone. I made pretty much the same ROM for the S5 when I had one. Enjoy.

very pleased
So far it's running very good.

Dev Edition I take it? I looked for any info and did not find it.

When you have root and a custom recovery for retail version it will work. Until then you are out of luck. You could always sell your retail like I did and buy the dev edition.

Sorry all, I made a mistake with the 3Minit Battery mod and posted a fix to remove the stock battery as it should be. I have uploaded a updated ROM to reflect the fix or if you are on V1 just flash the attached fix in TWRP to correct the mod. Other than that everything else looks good so far..

Nice lock screen wall paper! Have a blessed day!

About this rom
So this is only for the develop edition? We cannot get the recovery in retail version!!!!

Obviously.... seeing the retail doesn't have root or a custom recovery. I'll update the OP to remove the confusion. On a brighter note if and when the retail gets root and recovery it will work as it is.

Thanks for another Rom!
Thanks for the rom, i'll be flashing it tonight. :highfive:
Question, I guessing should flash back to Original DE NJ5 or can I flash this over Definitive Rom 1.6 Rom?

You will be good with a clean wipe. 1.6 is NJ5 so the firmware will match.

oh no

I don't use it but it should work fine. I rather bake the mods in. You will need to download and install it as I didn't include it in the ROM.

Do you have a list of what you debloated? Emspilots rom debloated a little more than I wanted and broke some stuff so I'm just wondering what you have taken out.
Edit: google now seems to be broken in this, just gets network errors, clearing data/cache doesn't resolve.

Link should be fixed, thanks for reporting. and no it does not, its based on a N8010 FW, but is working fine on my N8013 . I might rebase it on the latest N8013 FW that was released today for next update.

Just flashed it with NO wipe and haven't run into any issues yet. Great work.
Thanks for starting up a 8013 ROM. We are desperately in need for more 8013 roms. Will definitely give this a try.

I ended up going back to stock, I was having a bunch of issues with busy box not wanting to install. I have pro and tried uninstalling a few times. Su was working fine. I was also having issues with S note not loading. Rebooted a few times with no luck. Hope it gets better.
Oh did you forget to set int.d scripts permissions in the ROM or we have to do it ourselves? I did it manually. Yes and guys don't forget if you want the int.d scripts to work you must set the permissions to 777. Great Rom btw, really fast.
Edit: After I set permissions for int.d scripts I checked again and they did not execute.

Long time no see bro... I do have a question. I tried to read the thread for the cwm v8 and it is not yet stable for mounting external sd card. are you having that issue or not?
I've tried the recovery for AOKP 4.3 version and its working fine.
cant download it.. mega.co.nz keep verifying until 30 minutes and error.. wanted to test it so much
Edit: work well with chrome
Use Chrome or Safari to download from Mega.
That crap doesn't really work well with non-Webkit browsers.
I've tested the ROM and I have noticed that system can't be mounted from recovery.

same with me, anything we can do to make it work?
For those who have problem with the root: Try please to reflash the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.86. Don't know why you have such an issue so please try this method and let me know
DaRk-L0rD:
I guees nobody has a problem with root, that's working well.
I share the problem regarding recovery: Backup, whether internal or external SD, is not possible. CWM says it's unable to mount it.
That's a pity because i really like this ROM and I use it as a daily driver. I would like to uninstall some more Sony-Software, but I'm afraid of ruining the ROM and in that case I don't have a backup I can restore

No, only your recommended CWM v8.
I don't know which other kernel to flash - I'm afraid the ROM doesn't boot then. Perhaps I'll try "old" kernels for 4.1 like nKernel later, but don't know if the ROM can boot with them.

Forgive the newby please. I stumbled across this while looking for a way to disable to home key wake feature. This claims to do that so I'm very interested.
Do I just dl your zip then flash it with FlashFire?
I'm running the muniz_ri rooted stock OC5 rom from HERE... regular, not the DeOdexed version ..... And his tether addon.
Thanks.

My friend flashing this on odex will cause nothing but heartache. I will try and re odex the apk you need. Ill post it when im done. Maybe Ill see if I can throw together a zip that will remove the necessary odex stuff during flash. Haven't really thought about it since I like deodex.
How ever you can take my android.policy.jar. Put it in another zip and flash it. That will do what you want.

What would be the advantage of running the deodexed over the regular version of that rom? That's an area I still dont understand.
I just flashed and setup this phone, so it's not like I have months and months of stuff too loose if I was to reflash to the deodexed version... IF it's worth doing.
Was looking at other roms available for this phone too, like something already debloated maybe. Would they need to be deodexed too for these tweaks to work?
Like I said, I was really just looking for a way to disable the home key wake. If you know of another way let me know.
Thanks.

The benefits of de-odex are several but easily put,it makes altering the apk easier. I made a zip that will remove the un-needed odex files from the system. I do not have a odex rom to test on,but I made it like every other I've made so it should be good. Make a backup first as always. Please report back success or not if you flash it.

I flashed the odex test version and it does not appear to work. Screen still wakes with home key, headphone volume warning still pops up, unplugging USB woke screen, but didnt get battery or usb cover warnings. But now I'm getting "Android is Upgrading Starting Apps" every time on boot after splash screens.
I'm gonna flash the deodexed version of his rom and try your original zip to see how it works.
---------- Post added at 06:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:13 PM ----------
Flashed the deodexed rom then your original zip and it worked. Gonna test drive it a for a while. Will report back any bugs.
Thanks for the help.
Great to hear your up and running. I'm working on a (on the fly) de-odex zip,if successful we will be able to de-odex lollipop on a running system with just a zip file. Bonus to that is no data loss and instant theme/mod capabilities. I have to make sure no one else is using my proposed method, don't want steal any thunder from someone else. This will greatly help someone who's device is fully setup. TBD
Minor update, see changelog. Fixed screen off sms not working.
One more update for today,It's a good one.
Good work man. If you need anything just ask.

This Rom Uses The N8013UEUCOI1 Firmware And Was Built Using Ricky's Rom Kitchen.
This is the rom I couldn't find when I first bought this tablet.
Absolutely no disrespect to other roms posted, I'm sure there great.
I'm perfectly fine with the android build the tablet was made for.
I enjoy working on a rom for the S4 and don't plan to do much more if anything to this.
I assume this will have very little interest but I figured I'd share anyways.
I like this build and love this tablet so please don't think me negative.
I honestly just need the tablet for a tv.

S-Note application crashes constantly.
Got it. I'll take a look at it today. I hid it the first day so I didn't realize. It's probably just removed app so hopefully just a quick flash will fix it.

I hope couse I really liked your rom. Actually I'm not a fan of jelly bean and i rather kitkat over jelly bean but the rom was fast and impressive I couldn't try but the keyboard supports shortcuts like ctrl+c or ctrl+x? I use my tablet with a keyboard so they are really useful for me.
I've got some zips with apks ready to find out what's missing. I'm away from the PC right now. I'm with ya though. I prefer kk too. I kept having little problems with the roms posted and just wanted something stable I didn't have to mess with or think about. I'm not sure about the KB shortcuts. I need to hook up a keyboard too that's a nice addition.
ADDED @furkey I've loaded quite a few apps back in but still can't get it to work. I'll need to load the full rom and work backwards [also to make sure it doesn't fc on a completely stock build] Hopefully I'll have an answer soon.

I am looking forward for the new release. Because this rom amazed me even with 5 mins usage. Keep up with the good work!
I feel like there's something I don't know about jb and snote. I've downloaded a couple firmwares and built em but haven't found a working s note, even when fully stock.
This is far from my answer but is there a
GN8013 TW ROM [JB,KK or lp] that is built off of US firmware with working s note?
I'm at a point where v2 would simply remove s note. Lol.
@furkey the only way I've gotten it to work is to go back to 4.0.4
OP Updated with a new build using N8013UEUCOI1

Have you managed to work S-Note yet?
No. Even with an untouched build it still wouldn't work. I removed it. If I can find a working version for jb I'll definitely put it in or post a flashable zip.

I also have BoomSound greyed out. I did a clean install twice and it still persists. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I am on 3.39.531.7. I think it has something to do with SuperSU or Xposed cause I just restored my phone to stock via the latest ruu, and BoomSound was greyed out after flashing SuperSU-v2.65 and Xposed-v80-sdk23-arm64. I'm currently trying to figure out the cause.

 I realized my no0bish questions. I apolgize, i should have paid more attention.
That is why we at xda recommend that you read the OP not one not twice.... But every time you think you know the answer or you think you may have a question... You go read again and again. Because it has mostly likely been answered.
