I downloaded the update file from ASUS site to my PC then placed the update file into my device's internal storage while connected by usb. My me70cx detected the update file and indicated this in the notification area at top of screen. Just touch the update in the notification area to proceed.

work thanks !

Software update | Directly from phone

Hi All,
I had read somewhere that the LG optimus black phone can do gthe software update directly from phone without connecting to the computer or downloading the software on PC and then upgrade. I have the original software version v10a on my mobil eand Iguess there are many updates from LG for this phone directly from LG.
Can someone please guide me on the update if it can be directly done from the phone, if that is not available then please guide me with the steps and location from where I can get the latest software version and also know about the new features/ benefits available with these new software versions.
Thanks
Yes, optimus black supports ota updates (over the air).
Try to go in settings--->info ... first voice should besoftware update
Thanks for the reply but I am not able to find info under settings :-(.

If your software is branded, they may have got rid of this option.

yeah im from india aswell and i also dont have the update software option in my phone ...
i looked at difference between vanilla software and branded software ...
the article i read said that i cant update my phone software if my phone has branded software .
is this true?
i had no idea that my phone had branded software ,i bought it straight from the dealer . he did not inform me about this? damn .
please please someone tell me that i can update my phone software in spite of it having branded software?
Yeap, I bought it from the dealer and it seems to be a branded software. I have rooted the phone also. Any steps for me to see this hidden option on my branded software?
Thanks
That's not necessary true. I bought mine in the United States from Amazon.com, it was unlocked (no brande) and I couldn't find that option also.
Is there any other way to find it? Maybe it depends on the support of LG World application? (Because in Venezuela says that there's not support for this)

v10a and v10d don't have any "Software Update" application.. I flashed v10e and it does have a "Software Update".

Same for me. Purchased an unbranded phone, came with the v10a firmware. Updated via the Pc tools to v10d. Neither had the update icon inside the phone. Manually updated to v10e via the KDZ method, and the icon showed up.
same for me, came with the v10f firmware and there is no Software Update option...
just use LG Suite for updates

Official Asus Support Page

If you have trouble to find the official page of Asus Driver and Updates for the TF701 (like i have) here is the link for it
http://www.asus.com/support/Download/28/1/The New ASUS Transfomer Pad/32/
You might ask "ok,but why a Thread?" ... well, because not everyone has the Asus.COM page as standard, and the other regions still dont have a support section (or even a TF701 section at all, which is for example in Germany quite strange .. you can buy it since 3 weeks but Asus.de claims this tablet doesnt exist?)
As you can see on the page there are already some Firmwares released (even a new one i dont have myself).
Always remember to download and use the WW Firmware (stands for World Wide),except you are from US,Japan,Taiwan or China.
There is also some other stuff you might need, for example (for future developing) the Unlocker.
Hope it helps

Mine did no OTA from .45 to .47 until today (November 3) so I downloaded it from Asus und did a manual upgrade - fine until now :good:
For manual updgrade: Download the .zip from Asus and unzip it once (it's a ZIP inside the ZIP). Put this new .zip now best on a microSD (or the root of the tab itself) and when inserting the card the tablet will state that there is an available system update

Same here, no release notes on the 3 (!) firmwares released since I own the TF701T. Either Asus is listening very good to first customer complaints or they are still working on the firmware themselves... chose what you think
Anyway, I am very happy with it! :victory:

Can memopad hd 7 be safely upgraded to android 4.4 / very confused...

(I had to remove external url links, otherwise I couldn't post this message)
Hi,
I've been looking on the internet for information on updating my Memopad HD7 to Android 4.4, but am still unsure if it can be safely done or not.
I bought mine a year ago (july 2014), and I have not received any official OTA updates, I'm still on original version 4.2.2
asus support let me know via email (I'll translate into english):
"Asus only support the os software until a year after the warranty has expired
In this case your device will not receive any updates anymore from the Android OS"
This raises even more questions to me.
Some people have been getting new android versions on their memopad (e.g. here:
Anyway, to cut a long story short, can I safely update my me173x (memopad hd 7) to kitkat 4.4? Where do I get the necessary files. And where do I find a reliable documentation on how to do it. Does this look like a reliable source (article is from 2013...):
Thanks for all your wisdom.
Tom.
Well, Im sorry to say but the asus memo pad hd7 doesnt receive anymore software updates and there isnt any custom rom with android kitkat or higher...

b170/b183/b194/b199/b200/b550/b551/b560 to Marshmallow via HICARE

hello, few days ago there was update from germany via hicare app, now I have changed region to german and it working very well. Update steps:
1 upgrade hicare application to newest version.
Run APP - >>Accept terms. ->> choose europe (if there is no update still choose germany) -->> OS upgrade early adopters
u'r welcome
source: https://twitter.com/HUAWEI_DACH/status/739840367672037376/photo/1
That was how they provided MM for everyone and it is not new information. However b550/b551/b560 are MM builds.
I disagree totally with Azaradel this WAS new information to me and I thank kiamikadze for sharing it.
Really don't know why everyone is ignoring this thread!
It is the easiest way to upgrade to Marshmallow.
No worries about doing something wrong as it comes straight from the Huawei servers.
No worries about which version you are currently running.
I'm happy that for everyone that has heard about that method, the update appeared within seconds. However, I changed already to many languages in the HiCare app and even downloaded the HiCare update from the market to do this "OS Upgrade". The EMUI updater instead still says: "No updates". I'm on B194 with a Swiss SIM. Maybe having the right right IMEI is important? Someone has a clue? I want to update the official way, not via a forced method.
Thanks, my phone is in the Asia pacific region, with location set to Australia. I am also able to get MM update with the help of post. The trick is to opt in for OS upgrade early adopters
Wow, thanks. Upgraded to 6.0. No regional change was needed though

Apparently huawei said they can upgrade your phone if you call them as you have the correct build for upgrade. Huawei said this when I rang them. Ring them and ask them to push upgrade from their side through hicare.
I tried with ale-l21c432b188 and didnt work :/
never knew that lol, thanks for the share.

Rog 2 can't update

It's been a few months after buying the ROG 2 and I updated to Android 10. Now I've got another update but can't seem to download it regardless using mobile data or wifi. Is there something I should check before updating? Didn't have any issues upgrading to android 10 but the I'm stuck at the next update. Just keep getting the error " System Update failed. Your device has reverted to it's original configuration."
Hi, same here! (Italy)
I posted this https://forum.xda-developers.com/rog-phone-2/help/phone-modified-firmware-t4135801.
As I wrote in the post, I sent a mail to Asus, they asked for build number details and they said my phone has a "custom firmware" I installed (???? never done that) voiding warranty. So they'll fix it but as out of warranty.
In that post you can check the build infos I've right now. Are they the same as yours?

Yeah all the info is the same as yours but I've never rooted the phone. Heck the only update I did was updating from 9 to 10

Same here. Bought in May, auto updated (via FOTA) in June (from Android 9 to 10), and this is the second update. I don't know what to say. I hope someone else could find a solution.
Same problem, same versions of the system. Unfortunately I also contacted asus and they told me the same thing ... I hope they have not taken away the guarantee.
Do you guys have the Tencent version of the phone? If so, that could be the reason Asus says it's been modified. A lot of third party retailers will still the cheaper Tencent version with modified global ROM installed.

Pretty sure I'm not using the tencent version
Anyways found a possible fix
Download the zip file from the Asus page and manually update in your phone. It will fix the issue

I was chatting with Asus support and they directed me to the asus page to download the update and update manually in the phone. While I was updating the zip file I noticed the FOTA update running alongside of it and I was able to update it. Hope this works for you.

Thank you, same here. They directed me to this file https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/..._I001_1-ASUS-17.0240.2007.27-1.1.204-user.zip
but since I insisted that I had not installed any custom firmware, they replied "the version you reported is not among the firmware files but in the Open Source section, this does not mean that you have installed an unofficial firmware" so no invalidation of the warranty.
Anyway ... the only firmware that was installed on my phone, was downloaded through FOTA ...

Could be due to the Android 10 update, prior to that everything was smooth sailing and issue free
