Redmi Note LTE vs Enhanced Edition - Redmi Note General

I ask any of you to give me an explanation on the difference between the Xiaomi RedMi Notes Enhanced Edition (MT6592 8-core) and the Xiaomi RedMi Notes 4G LTE (Qualcomm MSM8928 Snapdragon 400 4-core). Which one is better as both performance and whether it is possible for both a possible MOD with a Custom Rom?
Which do you recommend between both?
Thanks very much to everyone for your help!

The small get continuous updates. The big have better hardware. In my private: 8-core is better.

Thanks Julian, you're always ready to help me out! :good: then for performance and any custom mod, you advise me the Enhanced?

I found several reviews which compared the two devices, and the following in particular seems well done!!

I can say that the Enhanced Edition with Octacore is the absolute best seeing also the result with AnTuTu Benchmarks!

Mi Mix 2 or Mate 10 (MIUI or EMUI?)

I know this is the Mi Mix forum and there'll be an obvious bias but I'd like to get some opinions.
I got a Huawei P10 as a gift and I'm very impressed by EMUI despite what the detractors say. As a Redmi Note 3 owner I also like MIUI a lot (once I changed that horrible launcher). It also begs the question as to who copied who in terms of functionality and customizations. Let's just say they're equal but EMUI just edges it for me.
Given that the Mix2 and Mate 10 will both be near bezel-less with excellent battery life (by reputation), which one would you get? Pros and cons of each and why? No custom roms or modding. Both stock.
It depends what you're looking for.
The Mate 10 will definitely have one of the best cameras (2 ISPs, a first for smartphones), it will also have a separate AI unit.
Kirin 970 will have 3 Cortex A73 cores - definitely no slouch in terms of performance.
BUT, Huawei is known for not having developer-friendly devices, in contrast to Xiaomi. Especially if you're looking at recovery options.
The fastboot images guarantee a restore from nearly every possible softbrick scenario.
Coming from a bricked ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe, I am quite happy with my Xiaomi Mi MIX & will probably skip the upcoming generation to climb on the SD845/Kirin 980 train.

Both are torture in stock form. My 2 least favorite OS and the 3 days I had to run my mix stock felt like an eternity.

To each his own I guess but it doesn't answer the question.

Thanks for the informative reply. Very valid points. As I said I'm not a modder but having that option with the Xiaomi may become important.

xiomi mi 8

Hello everybody,
I want to change phone, I have a galaxy s8 + for over a year. the galaxy s9 + is very expensive, and not enough novelties for my taste, and I see that other manufacturers like the one + and xiomi offer phones with more interesting prices.
Is the xiomi mi 8 a good choice?
thanks for your advices.
You have a S8, so a downgrade is impossible. If you just compare MIUI and Touchwiz, it's like Benz and Ford.
You coming to XDA means you know you can flash your ROM.
Mi 8 potential is very high. It will got lots of custom ROM to choose later just like the previous models.
Mi 8 with custom ROM + GCam Mod and it will rocks.

Upgrading from Mi A2

Hello guys i know this is threath about Mi A2 but i cannot decide and maybe someone can help?. I am on Mi A2 about year now. I pretty happy with it. Camera is awesome with gcam, Fast, great battery but i wanna upgrade.
And i am chosing beetween Mi 9 SE, Mi 9 Lite, Mi A3, Note 8 Pro. On Note i am not sure about MediaTek because MediaTek cannot use gcam but maybe basic camera is great i am not sure.
I am looking for great camera in that price range, i dont gaming much on phone, just camera and social networks so lot of multitasking.
What you choose from those or maybe another Xiaomi device?
Thanks for any advice

I would go with Mi 9 SE
MI 9T, new fast 730sd, 6GB RAM, super amoled, big batery.
Well Mi 9T Is awesome but in my country is out of my budget.
In this case go to Mi 9 Lite, 4030mah battery, super amoled, 3.5mm jack/sd card.
But Mi9 lite it's just ~ 10% faster than A2.
Your choice, my advice it's better to wait some time.
Sent from my Mi A2 using Tapatalk
Basic camera isn't great, that's why you upgraded to gcam on the a2 also.
All of the models mentioned by you have miui but the a3. So prepare for bloat and jibber, unless you're used to miui.
The only one to one equivalent is the a3 (mostly os wise) but careful with that, despite the amoled it's only 720p and the pixels are so big they scratch your nose.
Go pixel 3a imho if you want stock android of course. Price/quality ratio is great and you'll have your gcam (natively).
If not, whichever floats your boat.

Question A few questions about PixelExpierence on Redmi Note 10S

Hello guys,
i am probably getting a new phone soon, which is the redmi note 10S. The thing is, that i am a custom rom fan, which means that i will install PixelExpierence on it. I have a few questions:
1. How long does the battery last?
2. Is the phone overheating when idle/playing games.
3. How are framerates?
4. Does the phone have a A or A/B Slot?
5. Is system updates using a lot of mobile data in the background (On the A32 i have, i had to root the phone to edit the hosts file so that the system updates app doesnt take up 3GB in a week *also using pixelexpierence here* )
6. Is the camera quality better than on the stock rom?
7. Does the lock/unlocked icon overlap the text underneath on the lock screen (visible when charging)
8. Does the fingerprint sensor work?
Thx in advance
1.The battery is around 2 to 3 days with normal use and drop to 1 day if you play games.
It recharge really fast tho
2.When playing games sometimes yea but im never going above 45 degrees
3.Depends on what games.
4. idk didnt checked
5. I never saw any mobile data suage for that
6. stock quality is 64mp
7. good question
8. Its on the power button, its pretty sensible however it gonna work well if you hands are a bit wet
4. Does the phone have a A or A/B Slot?
A/B slots and Can Switch between 'em with TWRP.
6. Is the camera quality better than on the stock rom?
Not in m'y understanding, and camera app IS lacking params.
8. Does the fingerprint sensor work?
Yep
Extra: does fast charge works actually on PE rom, no.

Thanks bro, you saved me. I cannot buy a device that has buggy or low development, and that info is crucial to many. It seems that Mediatek won't release source code to the mass public.
One question, if you have time to answer: Is development on Note 10 as good as it is on Note 10 Pro?

The 10s seem to have significantly better battery.
GSIs are probably the future.
@Surpalsingh @tutibreaker
You don't agree that we have a lot more devices being made today than 5-10 years ago? Obviously only very few have custom ROM development. The answer to cover all? GSI.
