[Q] Making Xperia theme - Sony Xperia E1

Hello, im trying to make my own theme for xperia devices (android 4.4) and i want to make it dark/black, now im kinda stuck with my theme because i dont know how to change font color of texts in message app, settings, contacts, alarm, and basically all system apps that can be affected by theme. I have changed most of backgrounds and now this bothers me so much, i have wanted to make theme as i would like to use but its not really that much usable if i dont change font color, i appreciate any help.
Im sorry if this is not right place to post question, if its against the rules report to admins so they can move it to other forum.

Please tell me which device you have and I will move it for you to the correct forum

Check all xmls in res folders and you'll see font color.
Set those lines to white HEX codes colors.
When we are talking about system fonts, or font color in settings you will have to edit few files more.
It's to big thing to say in one post but try to search a bit and you'll find tutorials.
Try to search for editing smali, font color in settings and android theming

Yes, that gives one a headache.
You need to edit the overlay XMLs for a lot of themed APKs, the color.xml.
It's a bit of a detective work and trial and error.
One thing that will make your head explode is the fact that "semc_text_color_primary" in com.sonyericsson.uxp also sets the color for search and edit text boxes. I have managed to controle the color of search boxes by making overlay XMLs for some layout-XMLs and styles for framework-res, but the edit-text boxes still folows "semc_text_color_primary".
I will go into detalis when i get the time in a new thread. I will post a theme you can use as base when time is in my favour.

Thank you for a reply.
I was busy last few days, sorry for a late reply.
I agree with you, it is really messed up to use one color for every system text, if i set white (since most background graphics are black) then i cant see anything on dialer because of white background. I have made another test theme with blue/white/gray details and its simple to use blue text in any app, but since there is a lot of people who would like to enjoy black theme (unfortunately Xperia E1 have non aosp roms) its too bad that making a useful black theme could be that hard.
Im waiting for your new thread, in meantime i will try to find a solution.

[Q]background color in root explorer

hello everyone, sorry for my poor English
I have themed my own phone looks like a Nexus s
mostly every background is black and text is white, except
in root explorer ,when i press menu, the popup is white background and text is white too......then press more .again white background with white text
what can I do....
I hate to bring this old thread up again. But, does anyone have an answer?
It seems that the menu background for some common applications like "Root Explorer" or "Droid Analytics" does not change properly with the theme. Instead, it shows a white menu with white text.
My entire device is completely Gingerbread themed based off of the stock framework-res. But, these menus are totally messed up. White text on white menus. Should be white text on black transparent menus.
I might be way off: But have you guys tried changing the color in the .XML file/s?

I changed the colors for menus within framework-res.apk res/values/styles.xml. All other menus system-wide work fine. Every other application menu works fine.
Which XML are you thinking about?

I was thinking maybe changing color codes in Root Explorer's XML might help. But I don't know.

Oh yeah I thought about that. But, since I'm creating this theme for a ROM used by hundreds of people, I'd rather not have to theme these external applications.
Someone's got to know the answer to this problem!

[Q] Lockscreen Font Color Change

Hey guys,
i have changed my Milestone Lockscreen like this Thread [Custom] Lockscreen Background CM 6.1.1 and placed the Clock little more on top. Just using the CM7 port by nadlabak for Milestone.
Now my Background is still a blue/ white picture as u can see here. So it's quiet difficult to read the date and so on.
I want to change the Font Color maybe to light gray or something else, but all attempts failed. As u can see here it is possible. All xml files i've changed doesn't give the result like rori~'s attempt.
It would be nice if someone can help me.
You can make a custom color value to the clock id.
(pull you framework-res.apk, post it and let me see)
CyanClock
here´s my CyanClock (it´s only for CM7) just check the change, not a big deal
Quite simple ... i've changed it like u. To add only this string android:textColor="#ffa4a8a9" i've never thought.
Thanks a lot. Now it works fine for me!

Quiet simple for you, cause you know how to search and compare!
I personally like this way of learning...
Thanks.
@android-hilfe.de and with help from he_stheone64 i learned a little bit of modding and theming . So it isn't new for me, but in CM7 somethings gonna changed so i have to search or ask specials like u.

(Help) Need Help with a minor modification.

I posted this in the Inc2 theming section but nobody seems to be willing to give a hand so I decided to post in the general android section in hopes of more experienced themers seeing my request for help.
I usually do all my own theming for my widgets and icons but this one is giving me trouble. Could someone possibly help me out and change the RSS text from blue to white on this widget for me and resign it? I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change the text and everytime I have tried signing this it still won't install, I've tried 3 different signing tools.
Thanks in advance to anyone that's willing to help, I have done all the modding I need on this widget to get it to match the theme I'm working on, just need the text color fixed real bad.
wow, 60 views and not a single person willing to give me a hand or at least point me in the right direction?

im looking at it right now... i dont have your device but an willing to change what is needed and upload for you, im not seeing any "BLUE" to change, all im seeing is white and black for test color references.
so you want the rss feed text in this apk, to be changed from blue to white?
can u supply a screenshot?
is your themes primary text color blue? it does use whatever color that is but can be changed.
Edit:
changed the only color reference that wasnt black or white, i changed it to white.
see if this changed anything...

Unfortunately it did not change the RSS feed text. The text for that won't change when theming the whole phone because the app itself has that color specified. That's why I need it changed to white.
I included 2 pictures, How it looks on the normal gray background the widget comes with and how it looks on my revised background .png
You'll see why I need white text for the glass design I made for the app. (ignore the cutoff text on the bottom, it's an issue with the widget that has been present since they released it.)
*on a side note, i am not theming any system apps or framework until the ICS build I am using hits a more stable build. This theme for right now mainly consists of my custom glass widgets and custom glass icons. Sadly this is the last one I need to make my homescreen theme complete.
Thank you very much btw for looking into this, I really appreciate it.

[Solved][Q]Which file to mod to change toggle colour?

Hi,
Which file is it that I need to change in order to make the colour back to blue in the atached image?
In the old firmware the colour in the toggle was blue, now after updating it is white. It is also the same in the contacts/dialer/favourite contacts screen when scrolling left to right between them. Any help would be great as I really want to change it back.
Thanks

its in the framework im pre sure its xml or smali idk but the themes are just stupid overlays without them its white so im pre sure in frameworks it has origional theme overlay and it makes everything white:silly:
Ok im home and armed with a brew.:good:
Regardless of the Sony theme selected my toggles stay constant, that's the switch and switch background.
Ive never seen toggles in contacts etc so im assuming you mean something else, tab selected maybe?

No probs.
If you have no Sony themes installed then it will be controlled by the default theme (framework/re/drawable-xhdpi/semc_)
If you do have Sony themes then the overlay you need to change is in **Theme.apk/res/valus/color.xml
Code:
<color name="semc_theme_accent_color">#ff0000ff</color>
See the attached screenshots.
I just edited BlackTheme.apk to "ff0000ff" for display purposes.
I managed to fix it.
I had deleted the semc_theme_wallpaper.jpg from
system/etc/customisation/content/com/sonyericsson/wallpaperpicker/walpapers
so the theme was not being applied correctly. Once i restored it i know have the blue back
thanks for the help though

Glad you got there.

[CLOSED] How to change font colors?

Hey Guys,
i`m searching for a method to change my font color.
As i posted in the "Show your wallpaper sticky" my Wallpaper has a white Background.
I also made the status bar and the dock fully transparent.
So it is impossible to read the clock or something else what is written in white...
Hope someone could give me a kick in the right direction.

Changing the native font colour involves pulling your framwork-res.apk, decompiling it, editing the hex values in XML, recompiling it and then pushing it back to the phone. I'm sure if you Google "change font colour android" you'll find a few guides.
Alternatively, it would be much easier to just use a different background
hi postfatal,
thanks for your response.
i googled the entire morning and this is really the only solution?
*sigh*
so i have to learn a bit more about our beloved android system
i wouldn't change my wallpaper because after 3 years i found a nice new one
So i give it a try and make the impossible possible ;P
