Best Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Galaxy S6 - Galaxy S6 Edge Accessories

If you are going to get a Galaxy S6 edge, what will be the best tempered glass screen protector for your Galaxy S6 edge? or are you going to live it naked?
If the Galaxy S6 Dual Edge is true, I wonder if what will be the accessories maker will do to copy the edge of the phone, I think its really difficult to achieve.
Here is the screen protector so far that I found
Best Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Galaxy S6 by iVoler

the best will be none. i don't get what the hype is about tempered glass. it is not going to work properly on this phone.. if u want a screen protector, get a squeegee type one and call it a day. otherwise have fun wasting your money on snake oil.. glass on a curved screen does not work well.
maybe join the discussion on the 5 other tempered glass threads, heres one if u cant find it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3043949

Unless if they curve the edges of the screen protector itself...

I wonder if they thought of a hybrid protector.. i.e. Tempered glass for the non-curved parts of the screen, and the standat PET for the Curved parts..

standard PET? What about the potential gaps? It will great to see what Note Edge users say about this.

How would they be fused together?

My advice is buy normal protector, glass and curved edge do not work well (ask me I know well, ala Note Edge).

Just wanted to bring everyone's attention to a thread I just started, please feel free to go here and post your submission should you find any further promising options.

I ordered the same case, I'm still deciding how I want to FP in terms of screen protectors though
The tempered glass on my m8 has spoiled me.
you should of got the Spigen Screen protector as well http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UI8FXP6/.
can't speak for Illumishield, but i can only speak of spigen cases and their protectors are also top notch.

Does this FlexHD cover Edge2Edge? I was just looking at this on Amazon....ordered a case just now....now looking for a screen protector that will cover the entire glass...
I too have been spoiled by tempered glass screen protectors.... It's the best IMO and I have it on my Note 4 now.....
I had a hunch that it was too early to tell if anyone had one available (tempered glass that will cover the entire screen on the S6 Edge....end to end...) .....and found this....

If this is true....to what they claim....this is epic...
We have a few guys who ordered one and will be putting up a review shortly.....
Fingers crossed, because I want GLASS! LOL

the Spigen advertises "Full coverage" so yeah, i'd say Edge to edge coverage.
for now, i would stay away from buying any Tempered glass for the Edge version until there are some reviews, because it's very difficult to make a piece of glass to be exactly precise so it sticks to the phone. for the Note Edge there were a few glass options but they all had problems because the glass bend has to be extremely exact otherwise it will lift.

It's definitely edge to edge. I, too, have been spoiled with tempered glass screen protectors and will purchase one when I find someone who gives a solid review on it.

Screen protector : Do you really need it with Gorilla Glass 4 ?

Hi everyone, I got the S6 Edge and I really enjoy it, this is for me the best smartphone ever regardless the price ^^
As we all know, the S6 and S6 edge are protected by the last Corning solution : The Gorila Glass 4. This one is great against scratches and damages according to some videos on youtube.
So I was wondering if we really need a screen protector - due to the expensive price for a GOOD one which covered all the two curved parts. I can't imagine to put one without having the two edges parts uncovered : , I've already done this to my NOTE EDGE and trust me this is really ugly

Did someone already have scratches on his S6 or S6 EDGE ?
what do you guys think about the resistance of the Gorilla Glass 4 ?
To sum it up, what do you advice me to do ?
Thanks a lot , kind of i'm getting a little bit confused with that
i think you will always get micro scratches over time, i dont use cases find them ugly and in the way but its always a risk, i myself will be getting a tempered glass front and back when they are available
There was scratches on the demo units at the launch event...any screen will scratch even GG4. It comes down to whether it will bother you if it does scrtach, and if you're willing to take the risk?

Do you need a screen protector, the answer is depends on how much you like your screen. The cost to replace the screen is $200 the cost to replace a tempered glass screen protector is $20-40 depending on the device. The Amzer Kristal product is still in mfg and will be here (soon) when its ready. For now I have a simple clear screen protector, but glass is always better.
BTW, my co-worker and his wife both have iphone 6+, she didn't think she need a glass screen protector, well she dropped hers and yup broke the screen, $200 later new screen, then a week later and still no glass screen protector, my co-worker used her phone and set it down on the kitchen counter and it missed, and yup another shattered display and another $200 spent. Now she has a screen protector, I had a spare around since I sold my iphone 6+ for a Galaxy S6 Edge 128GB.

Thanks for answering guys !
I took a microfiber and cleaned the screen .... it's already a little bit scratched : OMG
I'll buy a protector screen tomorrow
The GG4 is definitely built for damages not really for scratches ...... :crying:
I have to have a screen protector on even if it's this ****ty translucent orange peel that they call Skinomi until a true tempered glass comes out. If I even notice a tiny scratch I'll looking at it constantly

Maybe, maybe not ..........
My S$4 was just retired with a well scratched plastic protector. It was plastic and scratched easily. Now with it removed I have a nice new looking phone that isn't being used (after taking the protector off). I suppose if I sell it used that will be worth something. My point is that if you use plastic, you will be replacing the protector once or twice a year or living with a badly scratched protector because they scratch easily. A glass protector will last longer, but likely isn't as scratch proof as the Gorilla glass so it too may need to be replaced once or twice before you retire or sell the phone. I don't drop my phone often so haven't gone to that expense ... a rubber or silicone case around the phone protects the screen from breakage because the phone most likely will land on an edge and that breaks the screen rather than a hit to the screen itself. That protection is more valuable than a screen protector from a breakage standpoint when it comes to dropping. Even a screen protector won't help if you sit on your phone. I don't plan on a screen protector for my S6. I'm going to enjoy having a clear screen and take care of it. I did well with the S4 and will do even better with the S6.

Really good screen protector

Hi People !
I bought a great screen protector for my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. The link is here:
http://www.cellbeeusa.com/shop/sams...d-glass-0-3mm-thickness-2-5d-curved-edge.html
It's a tempered glass for the Edge and it is awesome.. Cellbee's tempered glass fits from edge to edge - which completely covers the phone. After a few days of testing it... the screen protector doesn't detach itself or comes off from the edges as most claim that their screen protectors after a few days come off around the edges. Now, I didn't drop test it and probably will not unless it happens accidentally, but from the material it really feels solid. Most people that also have this ( my friends ) claim that they are satisfied. If you are looking for a great tempered glass solution then go with CellBee... you will definitely be happy. Note: ITS NOT A GLASS, but very shock absorbent material
Here is the youtube video for installation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kazGyM3SLEA
Just my 2 cents
So they advertise it as glass but it isn't actually glass...
Confusing stuff!

It's not glass... it has a 9H+ hardness as glass but its made out of absorbent materials which protect your screen. Now, as I said, I am not willing to drop my phone to test it out.. but it is a soft material, but much thicker than PET films and really feels good in the hand. I am just stating my opinion on what I feel, and how it looks. If I do drop my phone accidentally than yea, I will report back here. I am waiting for a tempered glass solution but my friend google told me that it will be a long time before they come up with a tempered glass for the edge. The Note 4 Edge still doesn't have a tempered glass. So... better this than nothing. Of course there are other brands like Spigen, Verdus, etc.. but read bad reviews about it... the other good reviews are from Skinomi... which people like.. but I'll stick with this.
That was one of the crappies screen protectors I ever used. Stop using the term tempered glass to describe it.
There's already a thread with this. Apparent it's bad, chips/scratches easily even with your fingernail, not to mention it's not tempered glass.
False advertising and a bad screen protector.

Why is it crappy in your opinion ? Tempered glass - no... its not tempered glass.. but it has the hardness of a tempered glass 9H+. For me, I am using it mostly have my keys that are in my pocket with my Sammie and no scratches at all.

Please do not make claims like this when you have no method to verify. It has been tested and failed miserably.
Mentioned here http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...curved-glass-screen-protector-thread-t3063727
Claimed Curved Glass-Like Screen Protectors
The below list is of screen protectors with "Glass-like" impact protection and/or hardness but NOT actually glass!
CellBee

Installation Video
Material: "It is a thick plastic, custom fitted sheet that can mold itself around the edges."
Test Results: True
Dry apply plastic material that resembles self-healing nano-memory (similar to that of Zagg, Skinomi, and other wet apply screen protectors) but a little thicker, much more rigid, and less "rubbery" slicker surface feel.
Hardness: Claim of minimum "9H" scratch resistance
Test Results: FALSE!
In testing, scratches even from fingernail, even though goes away after a little while (similar to healing material).
Impact Resistance: Claim of "5 times the impact from 80 LBS hammer hits"
Test Results: Pending Testing

This is basically a rebrand of the CellBee screen protector above but include some new pictures/details

Interesting. Paid advertising? First it is tempered glass, but suddenly it isn't.
I've had this screen protector for since they started shipping in April. Currently looking to replace it. It is getting what I would call a little foggy and gets marks in it. The film seems soft under pressure. You can put a mark in it with your finger nail if you wanted.
At least on mine.
I'm not a fan.
I very well could be incorrect, but from what I understand, the tempered glass screen protectors are not able to produce a good product for this phone-- because each s6 edge is SLIGHTLY unique. With some of the plastic ones, there's some maneuverability, but not with glass.
Soft material? Is it also TPU? After trying some TPU's protectors, no good, too ruggy... no good on finger touching
Just found one with hard PET, anyone tried this item? Pls advise!

Life after tempered glass on the Samsung Galaxy s6 edge

Hello Guys,
I am waiting for my s6 Edge which will be arriving next week and i'm super pumped. So as you my suspect, i have gone through a lot of review videos and articles on the phone's performance and accessories and stuff. One thing i hadn't considered until yesterday was installation of a screen protector. So I looked up tempered glass screen protectors and think they are really cool.
My question is the look of the phone if/when i decide to remove the tempered glass screen protector to install another one or continue life without one. Any one got any link to a video illustration of this or any article...or your own experience ?
As most of you or each one would agree the s6 Edge is a good looking phone and maintaining the beautiful look is on all our minds.
Phone will look the same upon removal. There aren't any worthwhile tempered glass options for this device
Sorry ,i am using a general screen protector...i think glass protector is too thick.
if you wanna a general one , i will recommend you a good screen protector..
yes, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge looks cool , Have you ever considered the colorful glass screen protector?
I am using a tempered film now. But only for several days.

S7 edge screen protection

Hey guys am looking for a tempered glass screen protector I've seen the thread about everything but am not really upto reading though 30 pages.. what's the best tempered glass protector out there with edge to edge coverage? BTW am UK and not wanting to leave my phone naked for too long thanks!
There are people saying that the current curved tempered glass edge to edge screen protectors are cracking from cases, Gear VR, and even basic installation. It sucks but I would wait for confirmation from the community that it is safe to buy and install.
It could have been a bad batch but it's not worth it to spend $15-$50 for the thing to break in the first few minutes.

People are saying all the current edge glass protectors are manufactured from the same factories and just rebranded and resold as different products. They all suffer from similar fitment issues and inaccurate colors. Spigen is working on a curved glass protector for the s7e so I would wait until that comes out.

Until a decent one is available I highly recommend picking up a film one. I got a scratch from the lint in my pocket last night and have a film on as of 3 hours ago. No more braveness for me. For what it's worth, I picked up the film protector from T-Mobile and it's actually pretty good.
Trust me, for now, the best you'll get is www.ultimateshield.co.uk
There is no tempered one worth wasting money on.
The current "tempered" glass are actually plastic with bad fitment.
spigen are not working on a tempered glass screen for the s7 edge, they confirmed via twitter they have no plans for one at this moment
i echo ultimateshield recommendation above, full body coverage for 8.99 and no lifting issue with spigen tough armour case
clear film, no colour or orange peel effect and is invisible... perfectly cut
Well, I just got a tempered glass form ebay for the S7 Edge, absolutely awful quality, I echo that the tempered glass protectors are just absurd crap quality for the S7 Edge, the one I got just fogs up the display and washes out the picture.
i got mine from the ee store. 1 piece, i gold, sits right on top. took 2 minutes to install and looks great. sensitivity good. cost me 20. well worth it
